Viewing To-Dos in Mail

Is there any way to change which To-Do items are shown in Mail? I like that it syncs with my iCal, but in iCal I can have it stop showing To-Do items after a couple of days and delete them also. For some reason, those rules don't carry over to Mail. Is there a way to change which ones are showing in Mail?

Unfortunately, there's no way to do this by default. You might be able to set up a smart mailbox that only shows uncompleted todos though. Hopefully there'll be a way to do this in a future version of Mail.

  • I can no longer view Word attachments in Mail

I have received an email containing a word document as an attachment on my iPhone 5. My wife received the same email on her iPhone 5. She can view the attachment but I cannot. We have the same version of iOS (6.1.4). Even if I keep my finger on the attachment and select Quick Look I still cannot see the document. All I can see is a grey screen with the name and type of the attachment. Can anybody let me know if there is a setting or something I need to do to view the attachment?
Also, when I view an email in Mail I get a bar at the bottom of the message that will allow me to flag the message as unread, move it to a different folder, delete it, etc. My wife does not have that bar on her iPhone. Can anybody help with that? I've gone through all of the settings and they seem to be the same on both phones.
    Thanks for your help.

The problem on my wife's phone has been fixed by simply restarting it. It hasn't worked for my problem though. Incidentally, I can view .docx and .xlsx documents but not .doc or .xls.
Has nobody else ever had this problem?

  • How to view source of e-mail without opening so I don't get a virus

I want to be able to look at my e-mail, see who it is from, and delete if from an unwanted source.  Can this be done?  Thanks

Just to provide a third opinion, the others are 100% correct. Viewing a message in Mail will not infect you with anything. Of course, it should go without saying (but often needs to be said) that you shouldn't open any attachments. Keep in mind that someone you know could become infected with something that sends itself to you. (That happened years ago with the Leap malware that spread through iChat, but has not yet happened on a Mac with e-mail. It always could, though.) So, don't necessarily trust an attachment just because it came from someone you know.

  • Cant view html newsletters in mail

I can seem to be able to view html newsletters in Mail. It strips all the images and formatting only shows links and text. I usually have to click the link found in the text where you can view it online to see the proper formatted document.
Funny thing is that i used to be able to view them and it seems that all of a sudden i cant view them any more. I havent changed any settings (i dont remember if mail has updated recently but i usually do the updates as soon as i am prompted). The only thing i can see in Mail Preferences that may relate to this is under Viewing where is says "Display remote images in HTML messages" which is already checked.
I am on Leopard with Mail 3.2
    Any clues anyone?

I experience the same problem. Mail.app indicates that it can not display html and refers to a url. Strange enough, this also happens with messages sent by Apple.
I am using Leopard with Mail 3.3

  • Viewing .WMV Files in Mail

When I get an email with a .wmv file attached, I used to be able to view it directly in Mail. Now, all I get is the audio - no video. I have the latest version of Flip4Mac installed and still not working. Any suggestions?

I got it working properly again. I had previously been prompted to install a new version of Flip4Mac, but when I went to install it, it said I had a newer version and did I really want to install an older version over it. I said no. But I just went in and installed the "new" version even though it said mine was newer and the problem went away. I can see the video in the email now and before this install, I could not.
I'm guessing that maybe the prompt saying my version was newer was not the case? I mean, why would I have a newer version than what's on the website? Maybe they reverted back to an older version on the website because of this problem? I dunno. I just know this fixed it, so I'm happy.

  • I cannot use Mail,Thunderbird or Entourage to view my virgin e-mail

I cannot use Mail,Thunderbird or Entourage to view my virgin e-mail i can only view it from the virgin site.

Don't forget that the ORIGINAL FULL address is to be entered.   For instance, you should be including "adsl" within it - not with those quotes of course!
    Something like    -   [email protected]

  • Viewing TIFF files in Mail MAC OS X 10.4.9

I can not view TIFF files in mail. All I get is the first page of multiple pages. With the message open, I do see the Slideshow and Save buttons presented immediately beneath the headers but no mater what I try and do all I get is the first page. If I forward it and open it on a PC it displays just fine. Is there a way to view these files in mail correctly?
    iMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I'll take a look at it and see. I don't know why the company (AAA) sends these TIFF files like this. They generate them like from a FAX and then email it or they are sending it to an email from the fax not sure which but they say this is the only way they have to send it by email.
    Thanks for the quick response.

  • How can I view previously sent e-mails ( with images attached or photo-mail)in Adobe Photoshop?

I would like like to be able to view previously sent e-mails in the "photo mail".
Then I would like to be be able to forward them to a new address.
Also, when I include my own e-mail, gmail thinks the address is unvalidated or is phising. I sent a copy to my own e-mail to be able to review what had been sent.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.
    Karen

The organizer is not a browser, it is a database : even if it can show photos in your folders structure, it only works on the files wich have been 'imported' and registered in the catalog. It can show your registered pictures displayed according to the real folder structure based on the paths registered with each present file, but you'll have problems if some upper level folder is empty.
On the other hand, the items registered in a catalogue can't be duplicates, and the Organizer prevents duplicates to be registered. There is no simple one click way to override this constraint, which would mean a different database 'key', that is to rename the duplicates you want to register.
Practical way : since you have to rename the duplicates before importing them, you could do this directly in Windows or any other freeware like Faststone photoresizer.
Or you could open those pictures directly from the editor, browsing in your folder structure.
Imagine you have duplicates in a folder and want to rename them and import them using only PSE :
    - From the editor, use the 'process multiple files' to export the files from this folder and rename them, for instance 'IMG_0012.jpg' + 'dupl' stating the same destination folder
    - Try again to 'get files and videos' from the organizer.

  • Landscape view while in the Mail application?

Is there a way to use landscape view while in the Mail application?

Not for the mail itself (reading or composing). Attachments do rotate into landscape mode, though.
You can submit a feature request to Apple:

  • Creating To Dos in Mail

    1) I create a To Do item by right-clicking in an email view (> New To Do).
    2) I give it a name (it shows up on this yellow note paper background)
    3) then I check in the side bar under Reminders > To Do:
But I find that the To Do I created has no title.
    4) Then I check iCal, there too, no title.
After much fiddling around I found out that I can only set the name doing it in iCal or from the To Do view in Mail. Adding a title in the Message view and then quitting mail just looses the title.
    It's completely fubar.
    Anyone else with this issue?
    Cheers,
    Phil

  • "Ghost" To-Dos in Mail 3.0

After syncing with my .Mac account I discovered that a number of To-Dos in Mail were greyed-out and not accessible.
What does it mean when the To-Do is greyed-out? I'm assuming that some link was broken during the sync? (For instance, some or all of them may have been in the body of a Note.)
Is there any way to reactivate these To-Dos, or do they need to be re-entered?

    Hi there,
This doesn't work in the latest tiger version. The link just replaces the image. Have you tried it in 3.0 to confirm it works now?
    Thanks!

  • I don't use my mac email.  I view my webmail thru mail though  Do I still need to move to icloud?

If I am viewing my webmail thru Mail and not using my Mac Mail acct, do I still need to move to iCloud?

iCloud is free providing you require no more than 5 GB of storage, which for a mail account only is more than ample.
You do not actually need to update from OS X 10.5.8 in order to use iCloud for mail only. You could simply migrate from your MobileMe account at Move
If you did wish to update your operating system you would need to purchase a copy of Snow Leopard on disk and install it on your computer, update it to the latest version of Snow Leopard, then purchase lion from the Mac App Store (The Mac App Store is installed when you update to OS X 10.6.8)
Whilst I am aware that you wish to read your mail through a web browser interface, there is no reason that you cannot read iCloud mail from the mail application on OS X 10.5.8.

  • Nokia C3 - viewing html via e-mail / Hotmail

    Deer users,
I wondered if there is an option for the Nokia C3 to view HTML via e-mail, for example Hotmail.
Does someone knows how to configure this in the phone?

Looks like there is a common theme there. It is probably just that the original message has been corrupted somehow. Some mail clients try harder to understand corrupted data than others. I can't really tell from your original post. With mail messages, you really need to have the original data, not copied and pasted and not forwarded. If you have such a mail message, save it as raw source, put it into a zip file, and e-mail it to me. I can tell if it is an Apple Mail problem or a MS problem. If it is an Apple problem, I can file a detailed bug report on it. You can find an e-mail address for me by Googling my nickname.
