Viewing user guide offline

I wanted to be able to view the ipod touch User Guide offline (instead of depending on a wireless connection to view the page in Safari). I was going crazy, because I thought I had seen somewhere when I first got the iPod a couple months ago how to do it, but could not remember.
I still have yet to find any instructions on how to do this online. But finally, I think I figured out how:
Open the User Guide in Safari (while connected to wifi)
Click the + at the bottom of the screen
Choose Add to Home Screen
Then click the icon for the User Guide on your home screen (you can turn off Wi-Fi under settings first if you care to try)
It seems to work! Feel free to reply if it seems like I got anything wrong

Some thots:
1 -Open the User Guide in Safari (while connected to wifi)
2 -Click the + at the bottom of the screen
3 -Choose Add to Home Screen
Omit steps 2 and 3. Try this:
0 -turn off wifi
1 -Open the User Guide in Safari
Does that work for you, 'cause it works for me. Here's yet another way I thought of, but someone else answered it nicely already:

Click Add An Email Account if necessary, or simply type in your existing email address and password.

Type the user name that you want to appear before the @ sign in your new BlackBerry email address.
If necessary, type a password for this email address.

If necessary, provide an answer for the secret question you have selected. Click Next

Only option i have is :
    1. I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Emterprise server.
    2. I want to skip email setup.
So here i am unable to configure my email account (disadvantage).
Second option i can open my emails thru the brower option, where as here i nither see the browser icon on the phone. (disadvantage).
Please advice as what to do? How do i go about with this?
Its something like having a dead BB.
    Please help.

So what you are saying is that you "have" to sign up for a BB email address?  to get incoming mail from a POP3 like Yahoo?
No that is not how it works.
for your device you need :
a mobile phone subscription (for phone calls & SMS)
    a data plan (for MMS)
a BlackBerry Dataplan with BIS account (for all BlackBerry technologies including receiving emails from any email provider)
in item 3, you can if you like ask for a BlackBerry email (= RIM acting as a regular email provider) but I do not recommend it since the features are less than a normal email provider (you can't view those emails except on your device).

  • Can I get a copy of the iPod Touch 4th Gen user guide on my iPod?

Hi, I just got my first iPod a few days ago (64 GB model) and I wanted to know if there was a way to view the user guide on my iPod without having a wifi connection.
Not every place I bring it will have wifi access, and I'd like to be able to have the guide readily available to read.
Thanx in advance for any help.

    Hello Nyxx9,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
One work around is to download a copy of the *User Guide* from Apple website. Then import it into iTunes (it will go into the Books category) and sync it over to your iPod via the iBooks application.

What does "Not implemented in this database" mean?

What the page is saying that MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES is not a table. It is a view.
The main table underlying the view is mtl_onhand_quantities_detail.
After you perform a transaction, the data in this table (and view) is updated automatically.

  • Where is the ibooks chapter in the iPad user guide?

This statement was on the web page Apple - Support - iOS apps - iBooks.

Download the User Guide for your device and view the iBooks chapter to learn more about iBooks and the iBooks Store. Select your device below:
I could not find a chapter for iBooks in the ipad user guide(iOS 7).

Strangely enough there is no iBooks chapter in the user guide for iOS7. It is there however, in the user guide for iOS 6.

  • (First?) user guide with iBooks Author

    Hello!
I was commissioned to design a user guide for a product. Part of the product (StyleShoots) is an iPad so its interactive manual runs on the iPad as well. It was a challenging project that now is online here:
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/book/styleshoots-user-guide/id529090346?mt=11
Did some crazy things with it - also added tabs. I would really love to hear the communitie's view on it. Check it out if you want - iPad is a new medium and iBooks Author a new software - its a new world!
    Thanks,

As far as I have noticed it is only possible to edit an excisting template.
When youre satisfied with your new template you can go >File  >Save as template
As far as I know this is the only option you have.
I coulnd't figure out how to change the chapter pages though.
-Seems it's kind of hard to replace the background image and the big numbers on each chapter page.
    Any thoughts?

  • Easy Question - Where can I find a User Guide?

I just upgraded to iTunes 8.0.1. I'm a User Guide type of person sometimes, and I can't find online a truly intelligent and advanced user manual for the application. I'm looking for the full details and advanced technical explanation of ALL of the components of the program. Does anyone know a url? And I don't find the iTunes Help "Help Viewer" at all detailed enough or user friendly.
    Thanks,

  • Is there a user guide for Robohelp 7?

I've used Robohelp before, but now am faced with having to create a stylesheet.  I've tried using the Help but it seems to make assumptions that I've done created .css before.  For example, the kinds of things that I can find no information on:
What is the Design Editor?  I can't seem to find it to be able to create an external style sheet.
In the "Create a style sheet" topic, you must first click style sheet, but the style sheet button isn't enabled.
Bottom line: I'm looking for all inclusive documentation that will give me concepts and procedures for creating a style sheet.
    Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you so much for sharing these resources with me.  I have viewed
Adobe's tutorials on a number of topics and where their documentation
falls short of the mark, the tutorials are excellent.  I can't wait to dig
    into them.

Is there a user guide for Robohelp 7?
    Hi..
I COMPLETELY understand your frustration, because i've just gone through
    the same ordeal.
Its impossible to figure out how to import frame files into RH and how to
use style sheets from the on-line help, because as you said, you only get
bits and pieces of information out of context, and many of the
descriptions of settings don't explain what they are for/do. Its the same
old paradox; the only way you can understand the on-line help is if you
already understand the product; in which case you wouldn't need the online
    help.
What finally helped me to get a basic grasp of the mysteries of style
sheets, etc. was the tutorial: "Adobe Technical Communication Suite
    Getting Started series - Part 3: FrameMaker 8 and RoboHelp7: …" @
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/robohelp. (it runs about an hour and a half).
It explains how to enter and apply custom style sheet settings, mapping,
etc. and should probably clear up your confusion.
The only thing I STILL not certain about though, is what relationship, if
any, template (.htt) files have to do with anything, and whether they
relate to .css files. So i'd appreciate it if another poster can shed some
    enlightenment on that.

  • BPC Ver 10.1 Netweaver User Guide

I am having trouble finding a user guide for BPC Ver 10.1 Netweaver (Classic or Unified).   I am preparing "admin" training materials and can not find answers to some basic application admin type activities like what special characters are allowed in dimension ID names.  And I can not find it mentioned in the admin guide or the EPM guide.  So I am in search of a user guide type of document.
The following link lists resources such as Master Guide, Administrator's Guide for "SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 10.1, version for SAP NetWeaver"
    http://help.sap.com/bopac#section7
    Help appreciated.

    Hi Brian,
If you look at 10.0 Netweaver, there is also no user guide there.
I think as users view BPC via the EPM client, the user guide is there.
I think from a users point of view certainly for Classic / Standard, other than the web side, there is no real changes from 10.0

  • Positive surprise: PSE 4.0 came along with a 200+ page User Guide

Today, when I got by regular mail my PSE 4.0 version, the box containing the Software contained also a User Guide of a little more than 200 pages.
This is in contrast to the PSE 3.0 box that I got one year earlier: it contained only a 70-page "Getting Started" that I did not find helpful.
I am quite happy about this change.
But I still have a documentation wish for next version: a good document describing in details all enhancements of the new version (including important fixes). Its OK, if this additional document will be a downloadable document.

    Robert,
Yes, I agree that the inclusion of a User Guide book will be viewed as good news by people who prefer to read paper. However, in my USA retail box, the book is missing a significant number of topics. These are easily identified by the question marks instead of page numbers in the Table of Contents.
Someone pointed out to me that the product CD has a PDF file of the User Guide which does contain all the topics (including the topics missing from the printed book). My experience is that this PDF file is not copied to your hard drive during the installation process.
After doing a general review of the User Guide content, it appears to be the same as the Contents of the program Help.
My summary is that there appear to be three options for PSE 4
1- Read the printed User Guide book (if your purchase included it) realizing that some topics may be missing.
2- Use the PDF version of the User Guide from the product CD or copy it to your hard drive.
3- Use the product Help functions.

  • Physical Inventory  user guide

Anybody has physical inventory user guide with all transction details ?

    Physical Inventory:
Physical Inventory is a business process in which physical stock is matched with book (system) stock. It is legal requirement to carry out physical inventory at least once in a year.
Physical inventory can be carried out both for a company’s own stock (Unrestricted, Quality, Blocked Stock) and for special stocks (Customer Consignment stock, Vendor consignment stock from vendor, Returnable packaging). This inventory is carried out saperately for both type of stocks.
    Physical Inventory Processes:
Several inventory processes available for physical inventory which includes as follow:
    1. Periodic Physical Inventory
o All stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date
o Every material must be counted
o Entire warehouse must be blocked for material movements during count.
    2. Continuous Physical Inventory
o Stocks are counted continuously during the entire fiscal year.
o It is important to ensure that every material is physically counted at least once during the year.
    3. Cycle Counting
o In this method of physical inventory, inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year.
o These intervals (or cycles) depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material in Material Master record as CC indicator in plant view data.
o With this Cycle Counting Method of Physical Inventory allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items.
    4. Inventory Sampling
o Randomly selected stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date.
o If found not much variance between the counted stock and the book book stock, it is presumed that the book inventory balances for the other stocks are correct.
    Physical Inventory Process Cycle Flow
    1. Creation of physical inventory document
    - Physical inventory document(s) is created individually or using the batch program, click for more information
    - The transaction codes for creation physical inventory are as follow
    Individual Inventory documetion creation
MI01 - Individual physical inventory creation
MIS1 - Inventory Sampling document creation
MICN - Cycle count inventory document creation
    Collective Inventory document creation
MI31 - Own stock without spcial stock
    MIK1 - Vendor consignment
    MIQ1 - Project stock
    MIM1 - Returnable Transporation material
    MIW1 - Customer Consignment stock
MIV1 - Returnable material with customer
MIO1 - Material provided to Vendor (Subcontracting material)
    2. Print physical inventory document
    - Physical Inventory document can be printed based on the physical inventory document status and or item status
    - Transaction code MI21 is used to print the inventory document where print default value can be populated
    3. Count the physical stock
    - Based on the inventory doucmen printout, the warehouse person will check the stock of material physically and note that on print out. This is completely physical process.
    4. Enter count in system
    - On completion of physical count, the count result is needs to be entered in the system. This can be with reference (using Tcode MI04) or without reference (using Tcode MI04) to the physical inventory document.
    - If count quantity for that material is ZERO then select ZC (zero count) column instead of putting 0 in qty field. If 0 is used for zero count then systm will consider that as "not counted"
    5. Analyze difference
    - Once count is posted in the sytem, difference analysis can be carried out using trasnaction MI20
    - The output gives information based on the input criteria i.e. physical inventory document, plant, material etc.
    - The output gives information about the book quantity, Counted quantity, difference in quantity and value.
    - From this output list, you can carry out further process ie initiate recount, change count quantity, post difference
    6. Initiate recount and follow the steps 3,4,5
    - If found unacceptable difference, recount is initiated using directly from difference analysis list (transaction code MI20) or using transaction code MI11.
    - New inventory document will be created for selected items or for entire document
    - The original document items will be deactivated once recount is initiated so original document will not be available for further process.
    - On initiating recount, you need to process same as for new count document.
    7. Post the difference
    - Several options are available for posting difference
    - Post difference after count is posted using transaction code MI07
    - Posting the count and inventory differences using transaction code MI08, here you have created physical inventory but not counted so with this you can count and post difference in sinle step.
    - Entering the count without a document reference using trasnaction code MI10, with this you can create inventory document, enter the count and post difference in single step.

  • Quicktime Pro 7 user guide?

I recently purchased QT 7 Pro and was wondering where I might find an in depth user guide to explain some of the advanced settings i.e. codec settings/encoding strategies when using the export function. I would like some in depth explanations of things like the difference between profiles when encoding to H264 (baseline, main, extended etc), and the difference between using H264 via the 'Movie to Quicktime Movie' or 'Movie to MPEG4' option, and many other things.
I tried on the support page on the apple site but the relevant link is dead!
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

Yep. It's gone and the link is dead. There is a new "Windows" user guide but the older Mac one I can't find. The apps are nearly identical on both OS's.
    http://developer.apple.com/referencelibrary/QuickTime/index.html
They must be rewriting it to update for last months changes (the iPod effect).
I've read nearly every file I could get my hands on. Most shoot right over my head as they are written for programmers and there is no explanations of the various codecs and options in most docs I could find.
I got so frustrated I wrote my own 250 page PDF named "QuickTime Pro: Explained" and am updating it to include the newest features found in version 7. Almost ready to post this newer version (a few more days) and buyers of the current version will get a free upgrade when I post the revised PDF. It will be about 30 pages longer and include new tutorials for the iPod as well as dozens of version 7 screen shots.
Each time I'm ready to post the newer version Apple has updated QT 7. The newest features revolve around H.264 and the iPod settings. The current book offers an average QT Pro user some basic understanding and a complete list of all the codecs and settings found in QT 6.5.2. The new PDF will become two books in one. You can find a link to the download page by viewing my Public Profile.
*Notice* I may benefit financially from the link. The PDF costs $12.
