Viewing videos sent to email

a friend sent a video(taken with her cell phone) from her cell phone to my email address...when i check my email on my iphone, i have a little problem...
from what i can tell the video uses Quicktime...i do get the video but its much darker than the original and there is no sound...i havent check it on a computer yet so im not sure if it happens there also
am i missing something or perhaps the iphone is not equip to do this?

The video has to be in the proper format for the iPhone to play it correctly. As taken from the [iPhone Tech Specs|http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html] page:
Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 768 Kbps, 320 by 240 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.

I cannot view videos sent to my email on my IPad 2 from my daughters who have IPhones? Do you have this problem? We can access FaceTime ok. Any suggestions.

Unless those videos are very, very short, they probably aren't e-mailable. Many e-mail providers cap sizes of attachments at 25Meg or less (quite often much less). I once shot a 3 minute video on my Touch that was over 150 megs.
There is a big difference between facetime - which is streaming video - and e-mailing a video.

Video sent by email does not play on desktop

Hello. My service provider is Verizon. And clearly after a long call, they do not know the answer.
They walked me through a lengthy reprogram of my Storm 9530, which accomplished nothing.
When I send via email these .3GP videos made by the Storm, the video is not able to play on the desktop pc, after double-clicking. Manually selecting on Windows Media Player does not work, either. There is obviously a compatiblity issue. So the question is, how does one make .3GP videos compatible for play on a standard windows desktop? It does no good to be able to email, if the recipient cannot view. Thank you in advance.

Rotating Pictures & Video Sent Through Email

I have taken pictures and video holding my iPhone 4 in a portrait mode (not landscape), but when I email the video or pictures via iPhone the pictures and video are sideways (rotated on its side 90 degrees) to the person receiving the videos and pictures. How do I keep the pictures and video from rotating 90 degrees?

I called Apple about this problem, and they said there is a software glitch and some phones were rotating pictures and videos when emailing from iPhone 4. But there wasn't enough compliants about it right now to generate a quick fix for it and it should be corrected in a future software update.
I suppose it is something similar to the glitch with the sensor when holding the phone up to your ear when talking--some phones have the problem and some don't. Mine doesn't have this sensor problem as the screen goes dark when I am on a phone call and hold the phone to my ear.
I hope the fix comes soon. Does anyone know when they expect the new software update to be released?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

iPhoto has no Sent mailbox. Bcc yourself - you can set it to do this automatically in the Preferences

Well, it's still not very good quality, and I don't have any further options for the MPEG-4 setting. I think I'll have to play with the different compression formats. The DV/DVCPRO format worked better than MPEG-4, but it's still not very good.

Depends on the format. You can only view mpeg4 and quicktime really. Other movie formats like wma or flash do not have a codec on the phone and would need to be viewed on a computer.

WMV or Windows Media Video is not a natively supported video format on an iPad.
You need to download an App that can play that video format.

Having trouble viewing videos on a pc that were taken from an ipad2. Do I need to convert them before emailing? Is so, with what program?

I tried to send a video I took with my ipad2 camera to family and friends. They all have pc's and have emailed back telling me they can't find a progrsm to open the file. Emailed movie I made on Iphone 4/ios6 views/runs correctly on QuickTime on my pc, but when viewing on Iphone in emails sent does not. Any clue?

Made a bithday greeting in four 9 second segments for a relative. Edited in QuickTime as one 36 second movie.
Emailed and views/runs correctly when I open up sent in email on my PC, but when viewing same (sent) on I phone only shows first segment and balance of time (27 seconds) last frame of first segment.

I have got an E72 but I still find that most of the apps on the OviStore are of no use.
Practically it is better to spend time on internet for s60 apps that look into the ovi store.
Also I am not able to find the Advanced Communication s/w that came free with my E72 in ovi store ...
