ViewSonic 17" LED Display Eco-Friendly and Performance Enhancing $129.99

I recently attended an HP/VMware webcast where the HP host said that iLO4 equipped servers were capable of sending hardware alerts via email.  I've logged into our iLO on a ML350 Gen8 server, but I don't see the option for this.  Can somone please advise on how to do this?

Hi everyone,I have a user connecting to a Server 2008 R2 RDP server. He can connect no problem, but there is quite a bit of latency which I do not understand. He pings to the server at around ~60ms. I have another server on the same site (Server 2012 R2) and he does not experience the same latency. I've connected another Windows 8.1 computer to the Server 2008 R2 box and CANNOT replicate the issue. He appears to be the only one.I've temporarily disabled his AV, windows firewall, disabled local visualization settings (and on the server). I've configured RDP to 56k settings in the Experience tab which changed absolutely nothing.I've also run the netsh commands everyone seems to suggest with this issue.Any recommendations or things to try?EDIT: I've also updated his wireless drivers. I don't have the laptop in hand to try the local...

  • I have 2 Apple Cinema LED Displays (no Thunderbolt) and a new Macbook Air (with Thunderbolt).  Is there a way to connect both of these monitor to my Macbook Air?

I'm trying to use 2 older Apple Cinema LED Displays in a Dual Monitor configuration with my Macbook Air.   It is a new macbook air and supports Thunderbolt.

Look for minidisplay connectors/adapters that  that fit the inputs on the display, such as this example:

  • Why is my 24-inch LED display flashing black (and sometimes scrambles) every few seconds?

I have recently upgraded to a new iMac: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. 1024 MB. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I have it attached to a 24-inch Cinema Display.
Before I switched to my new iMac, it would blink black a couple of times a day. This was going on for a LONG time, but was not a big deal. However, now that I have switched to the new iMac, it is every few seconds. And it has now added the "scrambled" screen to it's repertoire. Fun. And, as I am typing this...it just went black and has not come back on.
I've read a few threads on this happening, but haven't found any substantial evidence as to what is causing this. It's beyond annoying. Has anyone learned anything new?

Okay. Murphy's Law. As soon as I posted this, I found an answer (hopefully!). My situation fit the criteria at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4045?viewlocale=en_US and I installed the update and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

  • Viewsonic VX2453MH-LED Display Works, but no sound from monitor

I'm using 15" MBP (early 2011), OS X Lion, and I saw earlier threads about this disaply not working (vertical bars).  I figured that part out, but am having trouble with no sound coming from the built-in speakers.  I have a Moshi HDMI adapter and ViewSonic's HDMI cable.  I have no sound, though, and I even put in their supplied audio cable into the headphone jack, which didn't work.  Maybe I need s/t else?  I love the monitor and not having the sound won't kill me, but I did get it because it was primarily integrated into one whole unit.  Thoughts would be greatly appreciated!  Btw, called Viewsonic and they were no help.

After I click on playback devices and bring up the Sound window, I can see the monitor icon with the label Realtek HDMI Output, as well as icons for Realtek Digital Output, Speakers, and Headphones.  Speakers and Headphones are greyed out since they are not plugged in.  Realtek Digital Output is not greyed out and says Ready.  The monitor icon is also not greyed out, has the check mark on a green circle background, and is marked as the Default Device.  Since it is already set as the default device, the Set Default button is greyed out.  When I double click Realtek HDMI Output and open the Realtek HDMI Output Properties window (Item 6 on the checklist) and click the Supported Formats tab (Item 7), there are no check boxes next to the choices under sample rates, but the various rates are there:  44.1 kHz, 48.0 kHz, 96.0kHz, and 192.0 kHz.  The box for Encoded Formats just says:  No compressed formats found.  There doesn't appear to be a way to select a particular sample rate among the four that are listed.  I've tried clicking and right clicking on 48.0 kHz with no effect, and the apply button remains greyed out regardless.  Clicking on ok or cancel also makes no difference.
    Really frustrating  .....

  • LED Display's iSight and Photo Booth

I read the instructions for setting up iChat to use the Display's iSight, but Photo Booth still uses my MacBook Pro's iSight. Is there any way to change this? There's nothing about it in the manual.

I have this problem as well (iChat is fine using the display's iSight, Photobooth does not use it).
Posted another problem elsewhere here related to the USB audio speakers in the display causing jittery/poor HD full screen video playback (turn off display speakers then the playback is fine/smooth). This also needs to be fixed... curious if others see it (I'm running a v2 Macbook Air).

  • Question re: 1920x1200 RGB LED Display and the Macbook Pros LED display.

My question to the Apple guys here is. What type of LED technology is used in the MacBook Pro's LED display?
I just did a side by side with my buddies new 15" MBP and my new DELL Studio 1737 which has a 1920x1200 which has RGB LED display. I had it second day air FEdEx shipped because I was dying to see this new tech.
And did it blow us away, supposedly since its this new RGB LED it displays something around 98% or 110% of the NTSC color gamut very accurate for graphics and photo work.
My buddy almost dropped when we saw the color accuracy and differences with the MBP. And why hasn't Apple adopted this superior technology?

What do you mean they don't have LED its right on the main page.
Read it carefully, it says "Ultrathin 15-inch LED-backlit display." The "LED-backlit display" part means that the backlighting is LED (as opposed to fluorescent), not the display panel itself (which is LCD).
...Dell has the RGB LED backlighting....
The Dell display you referred to is an RGB LED display, it doesn't have (or need) backlighting. It uses red, green and blue light emitting diodes to produce images, as opposed to a liquid crystal display, which uses color filtered backlighting to produce images.
its confusing why Apple has not adopted this new tech to its high end $3,000 MBP 17 models.
Yet. The 17" MBPs are reportedly due for a significant hardware revision next month. In any case, RGB LED displays have their own performance issues when compared to LCD displays, so don't get too excited, and they may not be thin enough to fit Apple's ultrathin design philosophy.
I have no idea what RGB LED was it just seemed better, and boy did it pay off.
I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with Windows Vista.

  • Connecting Both Mac Mini and MacBook Pro to single LED display

Is it possible to dock two mac computers to the same monitor, and have the ability to switch between each computer on the fly?
I am trying to dock both a MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini to the same 24" Apple LED display. I would like it to be as close to a "switch" solution as possible, where it takes only a single button push to change between which computer is being displayed on the monitor. I am used to a PC, where I can hook two computers up to the same monitor, and change the input in the monitor to switch between the two computers that are hooked up to it.
Since there are not any buttons on my monitor, and I am not used to Mac's yet, I am not sure how to easily switch? I was told I could do it when I bought it, but now the help desk is closed....

I was hoping there was a better option. I have the wireless keyboard and mouse, and the two computers. I doubt there is a way to switch the wireless keyboard/mouse without disabling and reconnecting the bluetooth connection (and I really do not think there is a KVM switch for bluetooth devices yet)...
That being said, I was hoping to continue to control the laptop with the laptop keyboard, and the mini with the wireless devices, and NOT go the KVM switch route... I was hoping there was a way to have the mini and the macbook both connected, and either push a button or access a menu to switch between the two...
So am I hearing that this is not a viable option? I need to invest in a potentially expensive KVM switch, or run one of the two computers remotely from the other?
The reason I am frustrated is that I was told when making the purchase that it was very much possible (by multiple employees over the phone and in store). I was also told by the tech people over the phone that everything I needed to do so would be in the box (no extra cables or anything needing purchase).

  • IMac and 24' LEd Display

    Hi,
I'm sure this is really obvious but I have ordered a new iMac + LED display; will I get the cables I need to connect or will that be an additional purchase? The only cables for the Mini DisplayPort seem to be adapters and I can't see the likely connectors mentioned 'in the box'.
    thanks.

This is a really nice setup from what I can tell. I wouldn't know for sure because my wife hasn't left the computer since we installed ours. She has had "network" problems at work and came home to work from home.
We put the LED display on a VESA arm to rais it an allow it to be rotated to portrait as well. Nice setup if you do photography or video stuff.
    Cheers.

  • Pro and air's led display

    Hi, Guys
Is there anybody know what is difference between pro's led display and air's?
why air's looks brighter than pro's? since apple upgraded pro on Tuesday, is it going to get exactly same display as air's?
    Thanks

Keep in mind, guys, that the larger the display, the tougher it is to light both uniformly and brightly. You have a larger area to shine light out of.
The MacBook Air is a much smaller screen than the 17" MBP and significantly smaller than the 15.4" MBP. All three notebooks use LED backlit screens, but you would expect the smaller screen to be slightly brighter. Achieving the same brightness with the larger screens would require additional LEDs, which would burn more power.
Having said all of that, I find that the brightness on the 15.4 MBP is very very good. Unless I'm outside, I have to turn it down a few pegs to save my retinas!

  • Photobooth and new 24 inch LED Display

I have just received my new display today and it is breathtaking.
I am using it with a new macbook pro. Sound has connected ok. ichat defaults once set to the display isight. BUT, photobooth will just not go to the display isight.
    Any ideas guys?

Not sure, but it only seems to work (photo booth) with the LED Display iSight when you have the MBP lid closed. If the lid is open, it only uses the MBP's iSight.

  • Dashboard and window sizes when connecting to LED display

    Hello,
I just bought the LED display yesterday...gotta say thats its beautiful....i have one problem though....when i connected it to my macbook all the window sizes (e.g safari, itunes, dashboard) were too small....I tried modifying them...but now when i disconnect the display the window sizes on the macbook are too big and out of display....the resolution on the laptop is 1280X800 and on the screen its 1920X1200
    any way to fix this?
    Thanks

My experience is that if you are connected to the larger display and then disconnect without restarting, then you will see the behaviour you are describing.
If you restart the machine after disconnecting, the MB is smart enough to make everything fit within the native (and only available) resolution.
    Good luck!

  • Best stand for MacBook Pro and Apple LED Display

I am buying a MacBook Pro and Apple LED Display tomorrow. I want to have a two display setup, similar to what I have seen in the Apple Store. I believe they used a Griffin Elevator. I want to make sure of two things: that the stand is sturdy enough so that my laptop won't slide off of it and that I can adjust the stand/monitor so that the tops are level (so that moving my mouse from the laptop to monitor and back is smooth - i.e. the cursor doesn't jump up or down.
I like the fact that I can use this setup to go mobile very quickly, but what about my direct Ethernet connection. I wish there were a stand/dock such that I could hook everything up to it and then just undock the entire machine.

How did you solve the problem of closing the Macbook Pro when it was connected to the display and preventing it from going to sleep?
I am thinking about buying one. When I went to the local Apple Store the tech guys told me that it would be necessary to keep the laptop open slightly when connecting it to the display. They said it was something to do with cooling. It didn't sound right to me. I'm sure that Apple didn't solely intend for the Cinema Displays to be used by Mac Pro and Mac Mini users.
There must be a simple way to "dock" or connect a Mac laptop (Macbook Pro or Macbook) to an Apple Cinema display or any other display with DVI input while keeping the laptop closed with an external keyboard and mouse connected and still be able to use the SuperDrive.
I'm very curious about how you handled this.
    All the best for now,
    Ambrose

  • Mac pro and viewsonic vp930b lcd display

mac pro and viewsonic vp930b lcd display
i have two monitors set up, a viewsonic vp191b and a vp930b lcd, connected via both dvi ports on the mac pro. the vp930b when the computer goes to sleep cycles on and off with the input message. if i put the mac pro to sleep via the menu sleep command, the last graphic/image on that monitor flashes on and off until i power the unit off, then it cycles on and off with the input message.
the problem is, the mac pro is not letting the display enter full low power mode and is sending some kind of signal still causing a cycle. the monitor works fine on other computers, the G5 i had pervious, and others i test. i tried switching ports and re-routing the cables, same result, the vp930b is still not allowed to enter full low power mode and starts an endless cycle of the monitor going from low power mode back the input mode. i reset the pram yet again and it still occurs. i tested the dvi cable and dvi port of the monitor on a macbook pro, the only other intel mac i have and it worked perfect. i can only conclude my macpro is either defective or incompatible with my viewsonic vp930b lcd display. anyone else using a viewsonic vp930b lcd display with a macpro 2.66. holidays suck when you are having tech issues.

i tried that. it is only the one display, if i switch ports on the card, it still only does it to the same monitor. since it does not do it when the computer is off or starting up, the second monitor 2 port does not come on until the the login screen is near, and flashes an image on the screen, i know it is somewhere in the hardware or software. the mac pro is sending some signal to the vp930b still when it should not be. i know the displays and mac pro communicate with each other via the dvi link, so it is unique to this display.
