VIN 2.0 questions

Hi, i'm testing VIN 2.0 (5.1 infrastructure) and have some questions about the product.
1 - Can you backup and restore a VIN backup, so you don't loss all your services and application customizations ?
2 - Can you export and import all your services and application customizations to different vcenter infrastructures ?
3 - Is there a document that explain a bit more about vCOPs and VIN integration and coexistence ?

          There isn't a way through VIN to backup your customizations. You can contact GSS in order to get help in doing these type of actions through the VIN VM itself.
     2. Can you export and import all your services and application customizations to different vcenter infrastructures ?
          Likewise, this cannot been done directly through the VIN UI and you would need to contact GSS in order to receive assistance with such a procedure.
     3. Is there a document that explain a bit more about vCOPs and VIN integration and coexistence ?

Security Question - How do I know if my Ex is getting in my wifi LAN?

Hello. I hope this is not inappropriate to ask here. I'm new and didn't see a previous thread about this.
My ex set up our home wifi network and I want to make it so that I know that no one but me is able to get in to it (short of hacking it or sending a virus). There was one hidden secured network and three secured that anyone could see. Comcast said I should just turn off Airport and plug the ethernet cable to my MacBook Pro which will make it so he can't get in no matter what passwords or remote access he has to the wifi network. My Ex is a network engineer. Some weird things happened with two of the networks hours after he emailed the passwords to login to the networks. Likely just a coincidence, but who knows.
Is that correct. That's what I've been doing. But now I'm moving all over the house with coax cables, voip wires, phone base, and power cords.
How can I "reset" the wifi with all new passwords and network name. Do you have a link or instructions? Would it be better to buy a replacement for the Motorola (Comcast said they'll swap it out for another one if I bring it in).
Using:
MCB, OS X 10.5.8 (will be upgrading to SL then Lion soon).
Comcast's Motorola SBG900 Modem/Router
Encore Wireless-N Router znd Repeater ENHWI-2AN3 (which is disconnected from Motorola now).

- get airport extreme / time capsule, and set it to invisible mode
your ex sounds formidable, i believe apple provide better security than carrier provided modem/router
easier to set up and you can make it invisible to people scanning wifi around your house.
i will not use a cable network that bills your ex or that your ex set up and said as secure.
he is the administrator, he has the upper hand.

get your Mail accounts to not copies all your email history into your mac.
ps: if your re-naming your network, make it sounds like a car vin number so that is not obvious.

Can't play Vines, Instagram videos, or gifs on Twitter using Firefox 37.0.1

In the case of Vines and Instagram videos, the audio will play but the video won't. On Twitter, scrolling over gifs/Vines turns them black and/or they do not play.
My Flash Player is updated. In about:config, media.windows-media-foundation.enabled is set to true. I've tried setting to false, which just turns off the audio, and switching it back to true, which does nothing. I've reset Firefox. I've re-downloaded it. Nothing seems to be working.
Solutions?
Edit: Restarting in SafeMode makes it work, so it must be one of the add ons.
Edit #2: Figured it out. For those who have the same problem, so to Options -->Advanced --> General and uncheck the Use Hardware Acceleration Where Available box.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

Hello Experts,
We have a scenario where a brand new vehicle is purchased from and OEM, some value additions are made to it and sold to the customers. Here when we purchase the vehicle from the OEM it comes with a VIN. Now my question is how do I make use of the same VIN and do my value addition operations to the vehicle. Also the vehicle needs to be tracked by the same VIN later on. Please give me your ideas on this.

Few questions about Photoshop CS4 Student Edition

I'm thinking of getting a DSLR camera in the summer, so (since I'm a geek) I want to make sure I've got all the software I'll need to edit the photos once I've taken them. The catch is that I graduate from university this year, so if I'm going to buy Photoshop (ie if I'm going to _afford_ Photoshop) I need to do so in the next couple of months to get the educational discount.
I've just got a few questions as to whether I actually need Photoshop CS4 for my situation:
*I already have Lightroom 2 (courtesy of Amazon Vine!) for processing RAW files, doing basic colour adjustment etc. Would I get £150 worth of extra usage from Photoshop CS4 compared to Lightroom?
*What DRM/copy protection does Photoshop CS4 use? Is it the same that's used in Lightroom 2 (hasn't given me any problems) or the Macrovision stuff that installs a background service (called something like 'Adobe LM monitor') on your computer?
*If I need to reactivate over the phone some time in the future (e.g. when I move to a new computer and I've already used the activations) do I still need to be a qualifying student?

Actually, if you had read the initial post you'd realise that I'm fully aware that Photoshop is hugely powerful. However it doesn't offer enough benefit for my usage (ie retouching of amateur photos) to make it worth the money + computer infection. My above post wasn't an attempt to say that Photoshop is bad, or that Gimp or any of these other freeware programs are even in the same league, I was just stating that my own need for Photoshop's power isn't great enough to make me want to install spyware.

When will 7.0 be compatiable with Wide Vine Media Transformer?

I have Dish Network and watch movies through their website. Since updating to Firefox 7.0, I no longer can watch movies due to the fact that the wide vine media media transformer is not compatiable. Additionally, I don't like the fact that you guys force this updates on us without asking. I switched to Firefox back at 2.o because it was realiable and fast. I'm beginning to regret that decision.

Vine download won't completely load

I only have two pages of apps, so I know its not about space. Is there anything else that would prevent the Vine app to not load? I thought perhaps it was just that particular app so I went and bought the camera roll version--same problem.

Try closing all open applications and power cycling the device. Once this is done test opening the application. If the two applications in question still close on launch, try the steps in the article below.

I see you mentioned you only had two pages of applications. Application are software and can be large in size. Other data on your device can take up storage as well so I would make sure you have available storage space on your device in Settings > General > About.

Firstly a question: Did you use the original game or maybe a copy?
I have found some infos that some users get this error because they used not original game CD!
But if it happens with the original and only with this single game so I presume there could be something wrong especially with the game compatibility.
Maybe the game doesnt support the graphic driver version or something different.
I dont know if you will find a exactly solution here in the forum because its especially a forum about common issue and problems with Toshiba units.
Try to visit the support sites of the game manufacture. Maybe there you will find more details and FAQs about this game.

DAQ input protection (overvoltage & overcurrent) question

Hello Everyone
I´m designing a DAQ board as my thesis work.
I have several questions about input protection, I have searched and searched and I have found only 2 circuits, a crowbar and another one using 2 zenner and a PTC resetable fuse or a ordinary fuse.
My question is, if there is any other circuits that can protect inputs.
The measurement limits are +-20V with a maximum frequency of 100 kHz. At the input there will be a INA163 IA, and then the rest of the circuit. I have to protect these inputs to 230 Vac.
If someone knows any other method of doing this, please reply. I'm pending to the PTC+diodes.

That seems a good approach, to keep it simple. About the resistors I don´t know yet if I´m going to use SMD type or the normal type, I have to see if there is enough space on the PCB. Probably if I choose the SMD type I will have to connect several in series as you said (230 V SMD resistors with those values are a bit hard to find, Ive checked farnell), but I will test it.
About the zenner, when choosing it, It should whitstands also 230V of direct applied voltage right?
I´ve attached a file with the circuit, as I pretend to measure diferential signals with the INA163, I think that this circuit is correct using your sugestion.
Now about the PTC, for the overcurrent protection, if I´m not wrong there are 3 parameters that must be taken into account:
- Holding current (I think this is the normal working current)
- Tripping current (At this value the PTC cuts the current going into the circuit)
- Operating voltage (I think I must choose the 230V version)
The holding current I´ve pointed it to 50mA with a tripping current of 100mA (I have no ideia if this is ok), the maximum current input of the INA163 is 10mA, the resistive divider will limit also the input current, but I would like to have some more protection.
Shoud I put one PTC in each signal branch (Vin+ and Vin -)?

Vines have progressively stopped playing

Now, it's been a while, so forgive me if all of the details here are a little sketchy. I think that it was as of Firefox 35.0, embedded Vines stopped playing. This means that Vines viewed through Tumblr.com, Twitter.com, etc. all stopped functioning. However! As long as I clicked and viewed the Vine directly on Vine.co, the video would play back just fine.
As of Firefox 36.0, Vine has completely stopped working in every capacity. Doesn't matter where and how I view them, they never play back.
Important things to note:
- Every other video on the entire internet still plays back in Firefox without issue. Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitter gifs, etc. This effects Vine and ONLY Vine.
- With regards to supported media formats, I can view a webm file directly in Firefox and it will play back just fine. For whatever reason, I cannot view an MP4 file in Firefox unless it's playing back through Flash (which is how Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc. work)
- Vine, as far as I can tell, seems like it's using Flash. (Right-clicking a Vine brings up the "About Adobe Flash..." dialog)
- I can rip the MP4 video from Vine using DownloadHelper and it plays back in Windows without issue.
- Vines play back just fine in Google Chrome.
- I've tried whitelisting Vine in Adblock and NoScript, thinking that was the problem. No change. Tried disabling/uninstalling Adblock and NoScript. No change.

This was another "Firefox won't play [X]" sort of problem, but reverting those settings, changing related settings, etc. doesn't change anything. Vines still do not play.

I did restart Firefox after re-enabling Directshow.
The weird part is, Vine does seem to be falling back on Flash. Like I said, right clicking the Vine player brings up Flash settings/information.
But it never starts playback. In fact, viewing a page directly on Vine.co is kind of broken in Firefox in general for me -- the "Related Vines" thumbnails that normally come up on the right-hand side of the page don't appear until I click "Like" and it asks me to sign in. Once the sign in overlay comes up, then the Related Vines thumbnails slide in to view under it like they're supposed to.
I tried to bring the issue up with Vine support, but Vine support doesn't actually exist -- it just redirects to Twitter support, and the support form only lets you choose between mobile devices. It seems they don't want to hear about their website not working on a desktop.
It's double baffling because they launched Twitter Video not too long ago, separate from Vine, and even that works for me. It's just Vine that's broken.

10.5.3 Local User Account Question

I'm sure this is an extremely basic question. I don't understand OD/LDAP/Active Directory. I’ve got a mac mini I use as a home media server. I mistakenly added a login item using System Preferences and now the account can’t login locally. It is no longer recognized as a valid local account, but I can still check email, access wiki's, etc. When I login as root, WorkGroup Manager says the account only exists in ldap://127.0.0.1 and won’t let me login locally. How can I convert the account back to allow local access, and maintain access to email, calendar, etc.?

Hi Vin,
What's happening in your scenario is that you have your Access Policy/Identity using only AD1, this will force the ACS to check only in the Active Directory database.
If you want to use both databases you need to create an Identity Store Sequence, this is done under "Users and Identity Stores/External Identity Stores/Identity Store Sequences"
In this section you need to define both databases like the example below:

Apologies for the delay.
I have never worked on the production side of IS-Auto. The following info is purely based on my imagination about the process.
I think, you wouldnt have either of Model or VIN number in SAP while the vehicle is being produced. All you might have is the reference vehicle material that is used in VMS or DBM to tract Inventory.
Ideally, a production order would be created to produce the vehicle, there you should be able to use the reference text field to populate the required numbers in the Production order. This if you are mapping using VMS, then you can split the process of manufacturing into 2 or 3 steps with related statuses. After a particular state or after attaining a particular status, you should be able to have the partly built up vehicle. Which can then be sent to sub contractors for further processing.
In order to answer your question with fool proof answer, I would need the architecture of your proposed solution. Based on the data flow, we can design any other approach.
The above mentioned process I gave was with an assumption that:
        The customer request is recorded in VMS / DBM.
        A production order is triggered from VMS.
        Vehicle is then manufactured upto a particular status,
        VIN is assigned to the production order which can update the VMS system.
        Later the subcon process may follow on.

1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

No, there is no conc program getting called, you can directly call a report in a browser window, Oracle reports server will execute the report and send the HTTP response to the browser.4) If we want to customize the jsp pages can you please let me know the steps involved in making the customizations and testing them.

Satellite P300D-10v - Question about warranty

HI EVERYBODY
I have these overheating problems with my laptop Satellite P300D-10v.
I did everything I could do to fix it without any success..
I get the latest update of the bios from Toshiba. I cleaned my lap with compressed air first and then disassembled it all and cleaned it better.(it was really clean insight though...)
BUT unfortunately the problem still exists...
So i made a research on the internet and I found out that most of Toshiba owners have the same exactly problem with their laptop.
Well i guess this is a Toshiba bug for many years now.
Its a really nice lap, cool sound (the best in laptop ever) BUT......
So I wanted to make a question. As i am still under warranty, can i return this laptop and get my money back or change it with a different one????
If any body knows PLS let me know.

Regarding the warranty question;
If there is something wrong with the hardware then the ASP in your country should be able to help you.
The warranty should cover every reparation or replacement.
But I read that you have disasembled the laptop at your own hand... hmmm if you have disasembled the notebook then your warrany is not valid anymore :(
I think this should be clear for you that you can lose the warrany if you disasemble the laptop!
By the way: you have to speak with the notebook dealer where you have purchased this notebook if you want to return the notebook
The Toshiba ASP can repair and fix the notebook but you will not get money from ASP.
