Vioce navigation on iPhone

The voice navigation on the iPhone 5 needs a lot of battery power. Even after quit the app from the multitasking bar is the iPhone's battery runs down quickly. Is that a generally problem?

Google maps will give you directions - if you select a destination, then input your starting point.
As already mentioned - unlimited data transfer is included in the iPhone rate plan.

  • Voice navigation on iPhone 4s - sometimes.

    I have an iPhone 4S and iOS 6.1.3 on AT&T. Navigation Voice Volume is set to Normal Volume
    I get voice navigation SOMETIMES when using Maps. Sometimes I'll have voice navigation then suddenly in the middle of a trip it stops. Sometimes I don't have it and in the middle of the trip it suddenly starts. Any clues as to what is going on will be greatly appreciated.

  • E-mail navigation in iPhone

    Just migrated from a Blackberry Curve to an iPhone.
    These 2 products have their strengths and weaknesses... so I guess we don't want to get into this debate here...
    Having said this, one of the very strong point of the BB is how you can navigate in your mailboxes. It's flexible, fast, and efficient.
    On this iPhone, it can take you 5-8 clicks to get to a new incoming message (depending on your starting point when the iPhone was opened). This is especially true if you, like most people, have to deal with multiple e-mail accounts.
    Are you experiencing this?
    Have you find tricks that helps?
    Do you know if Apple is planning to improve on that front?
    Any 3rd Pty applications that helps?

    Well, I guess I'm not the only one...

    Extract:
    Combined Inbox
    Having more than one account means having to check every single account for new messages, which would result in a lot of jumping around even with the fast folder navigation features of iMail Professional. The Blackberry has a combined inbox view which simply lists the new mails of all account inboxes - being able to select the accounts that should participate in this would be great, of course.

  • HT5429 Are there any differences between iPhone 5's navigator, and iPhone 4s navigator?

    I just need to know if there is a difference between there navigators ..

    As I said in the first reply, there is a difference if the iPhone 4S still has iOS 5x on it. Once you have updated to iOS 6 on the 4S, it will be exactly the same as the iPhone 5. If the 4S has not been updated, it still has the Google Map application on it, and while you can get directions on it, it will not have turn by turn navigation, or spoken navigation.

  • Compatibility of Griffin Navigator with iPhone earphones w remote and mic

    Hello,
    Was ready to purchase the great Griffin Navigator remote and FM receiver, but was wondering if it was compatible for phone call thru the earphones using the earphone mic????
    Did some of you experiment it?
    However, I am looking fo a remote and FM receiver that will allow using the earphones mic for calls.
    Thank you in advance

    I highly doubt that, those headphones were created for the new shuffles.
    but you can probably use them for an iphone or your cell phone with an adapter unless the jack fits.

    Does this mean that if I get a iPhone that I will lose the 30+ go to addresses I have in my Sprint Navigation TeleNav database?

  • Google Navigation for IPhone 4

    Does anyone know if GOOGLE TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION is coming to the IPHONE....
    Rick

    I actually purchased the Navigon, because I wanted cached maps, without needing a network connectivity (because if I'm riding my motorcycle around in the boonies, chances are I'll lose cellular signal more than once). I have to say, it's actually quite smart. Tells me stuff that my Garmin (although that dedicated device is for my car, exclusively :-D) never told me.
    Announces T-Junctions, tells me that I'm at a dead end, etc. Honestly, it seems much smarter than my Garmin.

  • Keeping my view tight against navigation bar (iPhone)

    Hi there,
    I'm having a very interesting problem... I had my application working great, but wanted to add more, so I figured I'd add a navigation bar and just call my current class (which extends UIView) as a subview in my new view controller.
    The only problem is, when I do this I get it 20 pixels beneath the navigation bar. So there is a black space and it's quite frustrating and I haven't been able to get rid of it. Has anyone had this problem? Let me know if there is any specific code you want to see.
    Thanks!
    Apparently it's 20 pixels because setting the rect as (0,-20,any number, anynumber) sticks it in the upper left corner...
    Surely this isn't the intended way to tackle this, right?

    I have fixed this before. Note the use of .bounds
    I am also not sure how to mark a block of text as code in these forums - I guess PM me if you cannot translate the corrupted text OR know how to properly mark code! usually it is and
    - (void)loadView
    // Create a custom view hierarchy.
    UIView *view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].applicationFrame];
    self.view = view;
    [view release];
    contentView = [[MainView alloc] initWithFrame: [UIScreen mainScreen].bounds];
    [self. view addSubview:contentView];
    }

  • HT1414 How do I get apps that require iOS 5 on my Iphone 4S with the latest version of 6.0.1 currently installed on it?  I cannot install many of the apps I want to use and am not sure what to do.  Thank you.

    I am not very good at navigating the Iphone so please be patient.  I have an Iphone 4S with the latest 6.0.1 and I would like to be able to download some of the apps that require iOS 5 on my iphone.  How do I do that.  When I look for the iOS 5 update it is no longer available.  I found that it is supposed to be available on Itunes.  I have not found it on Itunes.  All help is appreciated.  Thank you.

    Well, no. It's because that the iPod 4th Gen has iOS 6 and the apps need iOS 7. I suggest that you get the new iPod 5 because it has iOS 7. Also the iPod 4 does not have enough CPU or RAM. The new iPod 5 has enough CPU and RAM to store iOS 7 apps.
    Thanks!

  • Navigation puts 2440 M St NW, Washington DC in Chevy Chase MD

    Navigation places any address on M St NW, Washington DC

    Apple needs to FIX the Navigation for iPhone 5, the errors are the following:
    1. 2440 M St NW, Washington DC is pinned on the Navigation as 2440 Washington Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20815.
    NOT THE SAME PLACE
    2. 2440 M St NW, Washington DC 20037 is pinned on the Navigation map as 2440 Washington Circle NW, Washington DC 20037.
    NOT THE SAME PLACE
    3. Any address entered in the iPhone 5 Navigation on M St NW, SW, NE, or SE, is changed to some place in either Maryland or Virginia.
    4. 900 M St SE, Washington DC is changed to 900 N Washington St Alexandria VA 22314. Again, NOT THE SAME PLACE.
    2440 M St NW, Washington DC 20037 is at 24th Street NW & M Street NW in Washington DC not SIlver Spring Maryland
    Please repair the M Street NW, SE, NE, & SW debacle. The issue is with the navigation software and not my iPhone.
    Thank you

    Rgds,

    Hi,
    In pageflow definition, "Train Stop-->Skip" property controls the enable/disable state.
    If Skip value is true (it can be controlled with EL expression) than related link and button in train components are disabled.
    They are enabled other If Skip value is false (It is default).

  • Difference in apple cables

    Hi I have a iPod nano 1st gen and a iPhone 4s.
    When I plug the phone to my Alpine 121e car audio system using the sync cable provided for iPhone 4s I can listen to music and the voice navigation doent work. But when I changed the wire that I received when i brounght my iPod, I am able to listen to music and the vioce navigation through my car audio.
    Is there anything apple changed in the cables?
    Old cable is thick and the pin needs to be pressed to remove the cable from phone/iPod.
    Thank you,

    Thanks Chris for the advice, I did wait and read about the 80 gig, and posted a couple of questions and made a couple of calls, the 60 gig is going to work like a champ for me. Price vs features is the right fit. I got it a refurb model and had a promotion (money off cupon) from Apple and was about the same as a 2 gig Nano. Sure would have loved the 80 gig, but really after reading the forum really do think that the 60 will work quite well. Do have another question, what software should I download so I can rip (a legally owned and have the rights to) DVD to my computer and then make it into a format for the video. Not sure if there is just one program or two. Free is a good price if possible. once again thanks so much for the advice and help.
    cleaning up after hurrican John and now last night hurrican Lane. sheesh.

  • Songs not playing in entirty

    I have experieced this for quite some time, and it's really annoying.  Some songs will play about half way through then some other random song will start playing.  The album art, name, etc still show the original song, but it's not that song that's playing.  I've deleted all my music from my phone and tried to redownload from itunes match but no luck.  It's not even the same song that plays each time so it's not a corrupt music file in the cloud.  It's intermittent too, some songs play all the way through, while other's don't.  Also the same song plays fine in iTunes on my Windoze PC, but both my iPad and iPhone play part way through then someother song comes on.
    Here's what I have tried.
    Turned off iMatch then deleted all the songs on my iPhone/iPad.  Turned iMatch back on and re-download song, issue still occured.  I had problems on my iPhone 4 getting iMatch to redownload and show my files so I also found these instructions, which seemed to work to get iMatch to re-download my music again.  However after doing this and re-downloading the song, it still was cut off.
    1. connect iPhone, open iExplorer
    2. navigated to iPhone\Media\iTunes_Control\iTunes
    3. copied these 3 files to my desktop:
              MediaLibrary.sqllitedb
              MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm
              MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal
    4. deleted the same 3 files from my iPhone
    5. performed a hard reboot on my iPhone (home button + sleep/wake button, hold until you see the apple logo)
    The reboot forced iOS to recreate the 3 MediaLibrary files. After this, I was able to turn iTunes Match on and my entire library showed up on the iPhone. I am able to redownload tracks as needed now.
    This seems like an issue with iMatch, but if there's a file I can delete on my iPhone/iPad and have it correct the issue that would be great!

    I just noticed it's not random what song is played when the original song is cut off.  It's the next song in the playlist it seems.  But then when it goes to the next track it still can get a bit confused.
