VIP problem
I have two windows 2003 server with windows cluster. i need to install Oracle 10g R2 RAC. When i test with CVU then it shows error on suitable set of interfaces for VIPs. Others r all ok. Could you please tell me the problem is where?
My Host file on both node is this
192.168.0.231 NodeA03
192.168.0.231 NodeB03
192.1680.234 rac1-vip
192.1680.234 rac2-vip
10.0.3.1 rac1-priv
10.0.3.1 rac2-priv
without these how can i make vip for both node?

VIP from servers on port 8888 is visible with telnet and the other way around but HTTP://VIP(IP address):8888 is not working for webportal servers,
Your server is probably sending a redirect or using hard links with its port referenced in the url.
Fix the server.

View All VIP's Not Working in Apple Mail
Ever since I updated to Mavericks, the view all VIP's inbox doesn't work. I thought the last update would've fixed the problem, but it hasn't. The column where all the emails are supposed to appear is completely blank (white). The only way I can see the VIP's is when I select an individual VIP, but that's not helpful when I need to see all emails from my VIP's in one inbox. This feature works perfectly on my iPhone. I have a MacBook Pro with Retina Display - 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 16GB of memory.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
ThanksI used this workaround and it seemed to work for fixing the VIP problem.
After deleting and killing as suggested, the iCloud Helper restarted and the cache repopulated with fresh ones. I then clicked on inbox and back onto VIP's and they were all there!

Email messages from my tagged VIP's do not end up in the VIP folder. They show a star next to them in my regular inbox, but my VIP folder is always empty.

Yes there is a location for the outgoing smtp server password, if it is incorrect or missing it will not send mail.
On the Gmail account preference pane locate the outgoing mail server, click the blue arrows and a list will open and Edit SMTP server will show. Select this and then select gmail and advanced, it will give a location for your email address and password. -
This is a 2-node installation on SUN solaris SPARC severs(M4000 and E6900).
installion of Oracle CRS(10.2.0.4) and db oracle_home on 2-node solaris 10 SPARC were completed succesfully.
Since the network interface cards on both the servers are different(the NIC name in M4000 is e1000g1,e1000g2 while in E6900 it is ce0,and ce1), we created symbolic links e1000g1,e1000g2 on e6900 server to point to ce1 and ce2. Im trying to configure vips on both the servers and im facing a weird problem.
Both the VIP's are being created in M4000 server instead of one on each server.
ie:
required config:
node1-vip-192.168.1.191
node2-vip 192.168.1.181
but when i run
srvctl modify nodeapps -n node1 -A 192.168.1.191/255.255.255.0/e1000g2
srvctl modify nodeapps -n node2 -A 192.168.1.181/255.255.255.0/e1000g2
Both the VIPS are being created in node1.

Please help
Thanks and Regards,
BobI don't think you can simply create a symlink for a device and expect that this will work. For example, ifconfig won't show the 'new' devicename. That's why clusterware fails to bring the VIP up on one host and then it will bring the vip online on the other node (expected behaviour).
One solution that I can think of is to create a new virtual interface on both nodes and assign the same name to both. You could use Solaris IPMP to create a new interface like this:
on M4000:
dladm create-aggr -d e1000g2 1on E6900:
dladm create-aggr -d ce1 1This will create a new interface called aggr1 on both machines so you should be able to define the VIPs like this:
srvctl modify nodeapps -n node1 -A 192.168.1.191/255.255.255.0/aggr1
srvctl modify nodeapps -n node2 -A 192.168.1.181/255.255.255.0/aggr1Bjoern -
10 G Rac reinstall problem,How to unregister VIP manully?
NODE NAME: rac1 rac2 rac3 .
I was removed rac3 from the cluster.
Now 2 nodes working and i'm trying to re-add the dropped one into the cluster.
I check crs_stat ,ifcfg ,olsnodes .There's no rac3 infomation any more.
But when i trying to run addNode.sh I got the problem
In step 2,"Specify Cluster Nodes to Add to Installtion"
I found rac3 in the Existing Node List ,*without* private-node-name and virtual host name!!!
well,i tried "srvctl modify nodeapps -node rac3 -A "to modify rac3 configuration. it works. rac 3 in the Existing Node List with a private-node-name and virtual host name now .
But when i go back to install page i must to Specify a new Node to go to next step....
So, could any one help me ?or tell me how to remove the residual information of VIP? I don't want to DD OCR ...
Thanks a lot;I try to dump ocr and got something like this.I don't know is that help?

Iphone 5 WhatsApp Viper Contact Access Problem
I've got a new Iphone 5 and am trying to set up What'sApp and Viper but cannot get access to my contacts. Under Privacy -> Contacts these applications do not show up for me to allow them access to my contacts. I've already had a look around various support communities to find an answer to the problem and have deleted and reloaded both applications and have also both enabled and disabled restrictions all to no avail. Can anyone help? With thanks, Sandra
Hi I had this problem too. Simply go to your Mail App. Your VIP mailbox should have a blue circle around a white arrow while your other inboxes have a simple gray arrow. To edit your VIP list click and hold for a bit on the blue arrow and your VIP list will appear. If you click too quick it will just take you straight to your VIP inbox. Hope this helps

Problem with Oracle 10g RAC VIP network setting at Solaris 9
Dear All,
I have tried to set up a Oracle 10g RAC Release 2.
With OS solaris 9, and 2 nodes.
The nodes setting as the following:
nodes 1:
Public address: 172.16.0.121
Private address: 192.168.0.121, 192.168.1.121 (dual path for heart beat)
nodes 2:
Public address: 172.16.0.122
Private address: 192.168.0.122, 192.168.1.122
And i have assigned two IP adress 172.16.0.131, 172.16.0.132 as the VIP address for the
RAC.
And the following is the /etc/hosts file:
root@shk01 # cat /etc/hosts
# Internet host table
127.0.0.1 localhost
# public address
172.16.0.121 shk01 loghost
172.16.0.122 shk02
# heart beat
192.168.0.121 shk01-priv1
192.168.1.121 shk01-priv2
192.168.0.122 shk02-priv1
192.168.1.122 shk02-priv2
# VIP address
172.16.1.131 vip-shk01
172.16.1.132 vip-shk02
But when i run the command "$ ./runcluvfy.sh comp nodecon -n shk01,shk02 -verbose"
it shows the error:
ERROR:
Could not find a suitable set of interfaces for VIPs.
Result: Node connectivity check failed.
I did try to add the VIP address on bge0:1, as i using bge0 for the public address.
Both nodes i did using the same interface name for it.
Anyone have idea for me to check out the error?
Also, I have other question about the raw device.
As there is option for setting for ASM or raw device. If choosing raw device, does it mean that it just need to
format the storage disk but without newfs it? And then the Oracle program will able to handle it?
Thanks,
XentarYou don't seem to state categorically that you are using Solaris Cluster, so I'll assume it since this is mainly a forum about Solaris Cluster (and IMHO, Solaris Cluster with Clusterware is better than Clusterware on its own).
Clusterware has to see the same device names from all cluster nodes. This is why Solaris Cluster (SC) is a positive benefit over Clusterware because SC provides an automatically managed, consistent name space. Clusterware on its own forces you to manage either the symbolic links (or worse mknods) to create a consistent namespace!
So, given the SC consistent namespace you simple add the raw devices into the ASM configuration, i.e. /dev/did/rdsk/dXsY. If you are using Solaris Volume Manager, you would use /dev/md/<setname>/rdsk/dXXX and if you were using CVM/VxVM you would use /dev/vx/rdsk/<dg_name>/<dev_name>.
Of course, if you genuinely are using Clusterware on its own, then you have somewhat of a management issue! ... time to think about installing SC?

Problem accessing VIP via HTTP from service servers
I thought I had a pretty simple config on my CSS11501- but have run into an issue I'm having trouble resolving.
I have two unix webservers (IPs are .99 and .100) on ports e1 and e2, and my uplink for the CSS is on port e8.
The CSS has a VIP address (.105) that load balances HTTP requests to .99 and .100.
From .99 and .100 I can ping the VIP address - and from outside the CSS - almost everything works great for the site I'm hosting on .105.
I do have two web pages however that attempt to make calls directly to the VIP address - I noticed I can't load those pages.
Nor can I just browse the website on the VIP address from either of the servers. The webservers can browse their own pages via IP, and each other's pages via IP.
Just not pages on the VIP.
I think it may be a case of the servers thinking that IP spoofing is occurring - or maybe I missed something simple in the config.
Here's what I see in a 'show flows' when I try and browse the VIp address (.105) from the .100 server.
Src Address SPort Dst Address DPort NAT Dst Address Prt InPort OutPort
65.207.212.100 53758 65.207.212.105 80 65.207.212.100 TCP e2 e2
65.207.212.100 80 65.207.212.100 53758 65.207.212.100 TCP e2 e2
Since it appears that the CSS NATs the request to the same IP the server is using, will the reply from the server ever make it back to the CSS?
Or does it think that it shouldn't need to reply - becauuse it is that IP?
Should I be able to browse the VIP site from the webservers.
Below is the full CSS config if someone can help me figure this out.
Thanks in advnace for any and all help.
Paul

simple config and well-know basic mistake :-)
If a server tries to access the vip, the css will forward the request to the same server or the other one.
Both ways, the response from the server will go directly to the client-server, bypassing the CSS.
For this to work, you need to do client nat so the server making the HTTP connection appears to be coming from the CSS.
Create a group like this
group servernat
vip addr 65.207.212.105
active
and add the following to your acl
clause 5 permit any 65.207.212.99 destination content www/rule1 sourcegroup servernet
Do a similar clause for the 2nd server.
re-apply the acl.
Everything should work now.

I need your help again. i have installed 11gR2 on two nodes cluster and facing strange issue.
Looks like , both node's vips are pointing to same ip address . when crs is starting it is plumbing only one ip as vip. even if other vip is not plumbed when i am using crs_stat to see the vip status it is giving online status for both vip but i am not able to ping the vip which is not plumbed. can anyone help me how to get rid of this issue.
Thanks.Have you checked that the IP's are differently configured on the eth devices by running
Linux
ifconfigwindows
ipconfigAlso look at the following and see if it can be of help (if you want to change the VIP)

Oracle 10g to 11g Upgrade - Oracle Clusterware problem
Oracle10g RAC (2 Nodes) RHEL 4 64bit
Hi All,
I have began the procedure for upgrading Oracle Clusterware to 11g. However, during the install OUI was giving me certain error messages like it couldn't transfer the OUI installlogs to node 2. Well, I kept pushing through the install and after I ran the last rootupgrade script on node 2 it gave me the following error:

Setting CRS configuration values in /crs/home/install/paramfile.crs
So I ignored the error for the time being and after that I checked the status of crs and it gave me the following:
[oracle@vtl-rac2 crsd]$ crsstatus
HA Resource Target State
ora.VMRACDEV.VMRACDEV1.inst ONLINE ONLINE on vtl-rac1
ora.VMRACDEV.VMRACDEV2.inst ONLINE ONLINE on vtl-rac2

ora.vtl-rac2.gsd ONLINE ONLINE on vtl-rac2
ora.vtl-rac2.ons ONLINE OFFLINE
ora.vtl-rac2.vip ONLINE ONLINE on vtl-rac2
So i tried to bring it back up by doing a crs_stop -all and crs_start -all and it gave me the following error:
vtl-rac1 : CRS-1019: Resource ora.vtl-rac2.ons (application) cannot run on vtl-rac1
Start of `ora.vtl-rac1.ons` on member `vtl-rac1` failed.

CRS-0215: Could not start resource 'ora.vtl-rac1.ons'.
CRS-0215: Could not start resource 'ora.vtl-rac2.ons'.
I am thinking that all of this is caused by the various issues I had with the install. If I am incorrect, then please let me know. If it is true, I would like to know if there are any 11g docs on how to clean up a failed clusterware upgrade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on any of the situations I am having.
Thank youHi Chandra,
Did CVU report any problems before the upgrade? No, there were no errors reported by CVU before the upgrade.
I don't there is note out there for cleaning 11g CRS
install...and I think can very use the 10g CRS note -
239998.1.Yeah I might have to go that way.
I have both the 11g CRS install and upgrade from 10g
to 11CRS at
http://chandradba.blogspot.com/2007/08/oracle-11g-rac-
install-on-red-hat-50.html
and
http://chandradba.blogspot.com/2008/02/oracle-10g-crs-
upgrade-to-11g-crs.html
see if it helps.Yup, your guide is very simple, clear and error proof :) That's how mine when pretty much except right around 75% I started getting these strange errors of files not being able to be transferred to node 2. Anyways, it shouldn't be a problem as none of those errors were configuration related...or else I would have a messed up cluster.
Well, I actually rebooted both machines and now the whole CRS stack is up!! So I guess I am ok. We'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks for your help Chandra...I always appreciate it.
