VIP routes in OSPF for CSS in Layer 2 (Bridging mode)

If I am running CSS in Layer 2 mode, is it possible to also run OSPF and advertise the VIP routes in OSPF?

you can assign multiple ip from different subnets to a single circuit vlan.
You link the physical interfaces with the "vlan" command. Then assign ip addresses under the circuit-vlan.
The CSS will bridge traffic on physical interfaces belonging to a same vlan.

Per my understanding you can. It is equivalent to running 2 IGP and installing the entry in RIB table based on administrative distance.

Filtering External Type 1 routes between OSPF areas

Hello. I have a situation where I have two different telco's providing Metro Ethernet services to my site. Both providers will be sending me routes as OSPF external type 1's. I want to prevent the ISP's routers from peering with one another. One way I was thinking of accomplishing this is by making the connection to ISP1 under OSPF area 1 and to ISP2 area 2.
Is there a way I can filter the LSA's so no information is transferred between the two ISP routers in the two areas? Specifically, I don't want the type 5 LSA's generated by each ISP router to be sent to the other ISP router.

I do not think that configuring two areas will do what you need. But I think that you could achieve this by configuring separate OSPF processes. When you have separate processes they do not share information automatically. You must redistribute routes from one process to another and you can control what routes are redistributed.
Finding the optimum solution would require more knowledge of your environment and your complete requirements than we have. But I syspect that something like this will work for you:
configure ospf 1 and put the connection from ISP 1 into it. configure ospf 2 and put the connection from ISP 2 into it. configure ospf 99 (or whatever number you like) and put the connections from your network into that process. Then you can redistribute from 1 and 2 into 99 but not redistribute between 1 and 2. And if you need to advertise your routes to the ISPs then you probably need to redistribute from 99 into 1 and 2.

The answer is technically no, for the reason Rick describes.
But if we rephrase, such as:
Does CEF load balance across multiple equal cost routes generated by OSPF?
The answer would be yes.
I suspect the latter question is what the OP really had in mind, but again, Rick is correct to distinguish that OSPF doesn't use CEF.

How do I verify multiple paths available to a route in OSPF
I have three paths available to a route. I can see two equal cost paths shown in the routing table. The third higher metric path doesn't show up in the routing table
When I disable the two equal cost paths, the third path is visible in the routing table
Is there a command in ospf or shortest path algorithm, which can show the total number of paths available to a route and why one route is chosen over other

I'm running Arch linux on my server since ... 1 year. Now, I will need dynamic routing with OSPFd, for exemple ... but not package are available for zebra/quagga/ospf ... What should I use ???
What software are "up-to-date" regarding network routing with dynamic protocols ?

CSS: Bridge Mode + Router mode

Hi,
I have a CSS with many interfaces, all of them bridging.
I need to include one routed interface. however, front end vlan is defined bridging, the new bac kend interface is to be routed with front end.
mix og bridge mod and route mode, will it work
mix of front end defined bridged, back end defined routed, will this work

Specific routing in ospf

I have two mpls links on single router configured in ospf. One is for data traffic and other one I want to use only for Videoconferencing with my other office'ss VC devices. There are obvious Static IPs for VC devices in all remote locations.
At one location IP series is we can assume as 10.64.241.0/24 and VC device IPs are 10.64.241.19 & 10.64.241.20
At other location IP series is we can assume as 10.64.31.0/24 and VC device IPs are 10.64.31.19 , 10.64.31.20 and 10.64.31.21
Data Link Wan IP 192.168.35.42/30
VC Link Wan IP 192.168.235.102/30
Area 0 configured for both the links.
Can I do it with route map using set ip next hop command. I want to use VC traffic to travel through VC link only and not via data link.
If VC link will get down then VC traffic should be dropped so that data traffic should not get affected.

since you don't have a VC network IP address (is just "human" readable, but for the routers the VC device is part of the /24 network) you may need to generate the /32 prefix (maybe a static to LAN interface), and then you can redistribute that route on OSPF process, BUT, you're running same process on both WAN interface, SO the remotes are going to see the /32 via both links.
Options:
* Distribute lists
* split the OSPF process (data + voice)
neither of the options are scalable.... but it can apply if you don't have a lot of networks

Design view in DreamWeaver CS3 disabled for CSS & Java

I currently use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, and only some files have the option to view them in code AND in design view. This works for most files (HTML, PHP, etc). However, anytime I create a new CSS or Java file, the design view is disabled:
I have already tried the two other solutions I've found in this forum.
First I tried Preferences > File Types / Editors, and I deleted all of the file types in the "Open in Code View" menu (pictured below).
I restarted DW, and it didn't work.
Then I tried several steps to re-create the Configuration folder (which it did, but the problem remained) listed here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401118.html.
Still nothing. HTML, PHP, ASP and all other files have the Design View and Split View available, but CSS and Java do not. I would really like to use DW to start editing CSS, but do not know it well enough to write in code and therefore could really use that handy Design View so I can learn as I tweak it.

That's correct. That's as it should be.
A CSS file contains a bunch of text only CSS rules. Javascript is text-only script. There's no layout to see for CSS and JS files in Design and Split View so they're disabled.
Files with layout e.g. .htm, .php have Design View because they're web pages with a layout which can be viewed.
I would really like to use DW to start editing CSS, but do not know it well enough to write in code and therefore could really use that handy Design View so I can learn as I tweak it.
Open any .htm or .php (or other) web page and its associated CSS file.
Then tweak the CSS either via Code View in the CSS file, or using the DW CSS Editor when viewing the .htm/.php file, and see the formatting changes applied in Design View in the .htm (or .php) file.
Do not rely on DW's Design View as an absolute reference for pixel perfect accuracy. It will always be an approximation only to assist visually oriented web designers while editing.
Always test all CSS rules and edits in a range of browsers. Browser support for CSS rules and effects varies. Not all browsers support everything on offer in CSS1, CSS2 and CSS3.

Figures.. I'm just now seeing info on the "new" Quantum Internet Router which triggered me to do some web research and low and behold, Verizon had a half price "promo" sale, but never told me about it! No email, no notice, etc.. Until the "promo" was over.. Bottom line I would of upgraded a second time buying their new router but being a longterm customer and buying the last (rev I) Advanced router about a year ago, I refuse to pay $199.00 for a second upgrade to a wireless router in less than two years.. You know, I just upgraded to a Quantum TV too in December and no one mention or offered the "Quantum" Internet at the same time.. And the DVR playback function takes 20-30 seconds for the recorded video to start playing.. UGH!
Guess I'll be buying a 3rd party router with similar features as the Gateway for a lot less to fix what the (rev I) upgrade never really corrected and based on the faults of the Quantum TV DVR faults, looks to now be the better and lower cost option to do in order to get more reliability and stability in watching & managing Recorded Video and increased Wireless Internet Performance.. Ironically I plugged in my ole' reliable Linksys WGT54 which I used for years with no performance issues and it has better wireless stream performance that the Verizon Actiontec rev I wireless router..

The code you show should work so you may have some implementation issues.
For the stop button error you should go into your publish settings and select the option to permit debugging so that the error includes a line number for what's causing the error. A 1009 error indicates that some object your code is trying to target does not exist as far as the code sees it.... which can be due to a number of reasons, such as assigning code in a frame where the targeted object does not exist.
For the second error, it appears to be an issue loading (or possibly finding) the file. Does the sound start playing on its own when you first run the code?
Usually an error of any kind will prevent a file from running properly, so it may just be an issue of fixing just one of them.
You normally don't have to wait for a sound file to completely load before executing a play command... that woiuld be counter-productive to the concept of streaming sound. In theory, a play command following a load command will execute but the sound will not start until a sufficient buffer exists.
