Virgin mobile wont let me switch? HELP?!
Hi, I have been with virgin mobile for some time now, and really need to switch to a different phone company. I currently have an Iphone 5. Is there any way that I can unlock the phone and switch to T-mobile? I have read that Virgin Mobile is CDMA, but I have also read on this site that you can switch from CDMA to GSM. So basically, will someone please tell me how? I've been struggling to make this switch for hours now. I have the new sim card ready to go. If I do a full factory restore can I put in the new sim card and join T-mobile? Please help
Unfortunately, you can't do what you want to do and once you have bought a cdma phone, it is specific to the cdma network that you are with, so Virgin Media, Sprint or Verizon.
The GSM portion of the phone is only for inserting local sim cards whilst travelling so that you can connect to a gsm network and nothing more.
If you want to switch to T-Mobile, then you'll have to sell your current phone and purchase a new iPhone 5c or 5s for use with T-Mobile and as T-Mobile is a gsm carrier, then it will have to be a gsm phone and not a cdma phone.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

To drag and drop you must check the manually manage music box. When you switch from sync to manually manage, then it will erase the current content. -
So heres the deal, I updated my iphone and in order to put any music on it or even ringtones I have to have the most updated version of iTunes, unfortunately my macbook wont allow the update, I do have a lot of pictures and song stored on here but I have no documents I have deleted everything the only thing left on here is what the macbook came with. I checked and it says that I have enough memory so is there another reason I cant update. When I try and check for the update option in iTunes it says its up to date but I have version 10 something so I know its old, I haven't been able to update anything on here. Do I have to take it to the store or is there something that I can fix on my own because my warranty is up and I have nothing but problems when I go into an actual apple store.

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

If your external drive is formatted with the NTFS file system (Windows) OS X can not write to it without installing a third party utility in OS X.
Format the external drive with the FAT file system and it will be compatible with OS X and Windows. -

okay so , my ipod is about two years old and went through the washer and dryer. no one has used it for two years because no one ever took the time to fix it, until now when my previous ipod cracked and barley works now. So i took it upon my time to fix this washed ipod and i have been able to successfully restore it and , backup, and restore backup. i have also reset the network settings, and still my wifi is dimmed out and wont let me switch it on, i have read the apple websites resolution to this problem and i have tried it and they do not seem to work as my wifi is still DIMMED out. I would like to switch over to this one because my cracked one is hard to use, but in order for me to use this one it would be very nice to have wifi so i could download apps, and when i restored and reset the ipod to act like a new one, it wont even let me sign in to my apple id because i do not have Internet, now the funny part is my wifi is working fine for my 5 family members and their phones/android tablets, i am the only one who has an apple device. please right back!!! thanks!

One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
- I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
- you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
- all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..

when i try to log onto firefox it wont let it open sometimes and if it does when i try to use it the broadband stalls or freezes but i can have an IE window open and its working ok
That's strange. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is changing your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Also have you tried uninstalling & re-installing flash? If you need help un-installing Flash see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. You also could try safe mode. Iweb wont let me publish to mobile me

I have a website which I created in iweb and published it to MobileMe, until recently I have had no problems at all, but now It wont let me. When I try to publish the site it says its logging into mobile me but thats as far as it goes after that it just freezes and sometimes it will come up with cant connect to mobile me and I have to force quit the application.
When iweb is running, at the bottom of the screen, I'm pretty sure it used to display my personal domain name next to the little green light but now it displays my mac account name!! I don't know if this is of any significance.
I have changed my password but that doesn't seem to have had any effect.
