Hi Kunal
Can you check these three locations for any traces of a previous Afaria Administrator install:
- The physical directory (default: \Program Files (x86)\AfariaAdminUI
- In IIS, the presence of an Afaria Admin directory under the Default Web Site
- In the registry, the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Afaria\Afaria\AdminUI
Regards
Nick

  • Oracle Virtual Directory 10.1.4.0.1 installation on SUSE SLES10

I am attempting to install Oracle Virtual Directory version 10.1.4.0.1 on a brand new SUSE SLES10 Linux server. The installation fails due to missing libraries. This is true whether using the GUI or the console installation. The same set of binaries installs fine on a SLES8 and a SLES9 server.
The OVD 10.1.4.0.1 release notes and certification guide indicate that SLES10 is a supported platform. However, I cannot get the installer to work.
Following is the output and the error messages generated by the installer:

Does anybody know why this is failing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is the reply that I received from Oracle Support. The proposed workaround worked in my case. I am posting it here so that it may help others.
    Workaround
    ===========
    1.) cp ovid1014.bin ovid1014.bin.bak
    2.) cat ovid1014.bin.bak | sed "s/export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/#xport LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/" > ovid1014.bin
    3) run the modified installer: ./ovid1014.bin
Note: 417016.1 "error while loading shared libraries during OVD install" was created to document the issue.

I've copied a .NET application from an older 2008 server running IIS 7.0.600.16386 to a newer 2008 R2 server running 7.5.7600.16385.  The .NET framework version is 4.0.30319.  I've setup an application pool and copied the wwwroot directory.
I've checked for nested web.config files and I've been reading a lot about converting the site to an application.  The older server running the application is still up and running and the configurations look identical.  If I convert the site to an
application the icon changes and doesn't look like it does on the old server.  I'm new and still learning the basics of programming and publishing applications.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  I've been on google for a few days
    to no avail.  Thanks.

  • HT1926 trying to download itunes 10.6 on w7 64-bit, getting error msg: this installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\program data\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs ITunes.  Log on as administrator.  (I already am!)

Can't install latest itunes. error msg: "This installer has insufficient priviliges to access this directory:  C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\ITunes. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator."  I am logged on as administrator and have been since i've owned this laptop.  Any suggestions?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Hi,
Please re-create the Outlook profile to have a try. If the issue persists, we can do the further checks in Exchange server.
Please make sure you have changed the OAB generation server to Exchange 2010 and enable Web distribution on the Exchange 2010 Client Access server:
Move-OfflineAddressBook "Default Offline Address List" -Server <MBX2010>
If all configurations are correct, please check whether there is any folder in the following path in Exchange sever 2010:
    a. OAB generation in Mailbox:
    \\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ExchangeOAB
    b. OAB distribution in Client Access:

  • SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER Failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory

    Hello -
I'm hoping someone could help me with this problem. I've searched so many websites trying to resolve this issue and it seems no matter what I try I keep getting the same error message.
I've followed the steps in setting up SCCM 07 from this web site which was very nicely done! I've also followed the directions on Microsofts Tech Net website on how to configure WebDav and IIS settings.
    I'm working on a Virtual Windows Server 2008 32-bit OS, SP2, SCCM 07 SP2, IIS7
Here is the message I get in the log files:
    Message ID: 4963
    Process ID: 4364
    Thread ID: 7996
    Componet: SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER
MP Control Manager detected MPsetup has failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory.
Possible cause: The IIS IWAM account has expired, been disabled, or has invalid or too restrictive logon hours. You may verify this information by running the net user command line for the IWAM account. (i.e.: "net user IWAMMachineName)
Solution: Use the output to verify that the account is enabled, and logon is possible during the time of installation. Note: You can use "net user" to modify the account properties.
Possible cause: The IIS IUSR account has expired, been disabled, or has invalid or too restrictive logon hours. You may verify this information by running the net user command line for the IUSR account. (i.e.: "net user IWAMMachineName)
Solution: Use the output to verify that the account is enabled, and logon is possible during the time of installation. Note: You can use "net user" to modify the account properties.
Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.
I could be completely wrong but I read somewhere that with the latest version of IIS doesn't install these user accounts. I checked to see if those accounts existed and they didn't.
I've tried what this one website mentioned:
    http://myitforum.com...-directory.aspx
    - Remove the MP role from the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the removal is complete.
    - Uninstall the IIS component from the OS of the Site Server.
    - Reboot the Site Server.
    - Run ccmdelcert.exe from the SMS Toolkit.
    - Reinstall the IIS component (with BITS) on the OS of the Site Server.
    - Go into the IIS manager and allow WebDav.
    - Add the MP role to the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the installation completes correctly.
These steps didn't seem to work, probably because it was for SMS 2003.

  • Problem register Oracle Virtual Directory to WebLogic - urgent ... pls help

    Hi,
I'm a new to Oracle product and would like to install and run Oracle Virtual Directory for the following purpose:
Using LDAP client that connects to OVD and to issue ldapsearch command line based on the attrbiutes and filters of each one of the two Directories behind the OVD..
    |-- Tivoli LDAP directory
    LDAP client -> OVD ---|
    |-- MS AD
I have downloaded the identity management package 11g and install only the OVD on Windows 2003 standard machine.
I then realized that I have to install the WebLogic package to have WEB UI to the OVD admin.
So I downloaded the WebLogic 10.3.1.0 package and install it.
I followed the installation instructions of
'Installing and Configuring Only Oracle Virtual Directory Without a WebLogic Administration Domain' at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e12002/ovd.htm#CIHFFAFH
    and complete the installation.
Notice that the OVD and the WeblOgic SW are installed on the same Windows machine.
After that I had to register Oracle Virtual Directory with the WebLogic Administration Server.
Running the command-line I got the following error:

    Any thoughts ?

    Hi,
I am also facing the same problem. I have oracle internet directory 11.1.1 installed without domain. I then installed weblogic 32bit exe on same windows server.
while registering getting the same error. I think it is because of bit compatibility. OID is 64bit and weblogic is 32bit. Not sure.
    thanks

  • Installing Oracle Virtual Directory Manager client on Solaris 10

    Hi,
While installing Oracle Virtual Directory Client on solaris 10, I am getting
"ovidm1014.bin : /tmp/install.dir.<number>/linux/resource/jre/bin/java: cannot execute" error while initiating the installer.
Can someone look into the message and advice me in overcoming the issue as we are held up on this for three days?
    Earliest reply is favoured
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks once again for reply!!
If you already installed Oracle Virtual Directory Manager on Sun SPARC, can you brief us pre-requisite setting and installation steps, so that we can follow the same.
Because, we are getting error in the initialization of installation process itself. So, I think there must be some configuration settings to be made.
We already raised SR (Service Request) with Oracle, bu there is no reply from their side till now.
I am waiting for your reply ASAP

  • Exchange 2013 - Unable to recreate ECP Virtual Directory using New-EcpVirtualDirectory

    Hello,
I had a problem accessing ECP so I decided to recreate its virtual directory on the client access server. I used Remove-EcpVirtualDirectory. The cmd completed successfully. Then I tried running New-EcpVirtualDirectory and am getting the following error:
    Argument: -Role ClientAccess
        + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [New-EcpVirtualDirectory], ArgumentException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 3C22AE5F,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.NewEcpVirtualDirectory
Running the command using the -role clientaccess parameter doesn't change the outcome. I have tried running the Exchange setup using the recoverserver switch but the installator is unable to detect any problems with the installation and refuses to continue
    with the recover. Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, this didn't help either, but it has resulted in a different error message which has eventually led me to an answer, so thank you very much for your help!
The problem turned out to be quite strange (or not, I'm not very proficient with Exchange). It turned out that all the commands that I was executing, were actually applied to the mailbox server not to the CAS (hance the -role clientaccess error - it couldn't
have been installed on a server that didn't have the role). Once, I used the -server parameter you proposed, the command failed again. The problem now was that while it was finally pointing to the right server it was still using the installation path on the
mailbox server (SIC!). Exchange on the mailbox server has been installed at a non-default location and somehow the New-EcpVirtualDirectory command ran on CAS was trying to get to that path. So the trick that finally worked and something that Microsoft again
doesn't include in their site was using the parameter -path as part of the command:
new-ecpvirtualdirectory -internalurl https://xx.xx.xx/ecp -role clientaccess -server servername -websitename "Default Web Site" -Path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp"
Hope it helps some poor soul some day. Thank you all for your help.

  • Stop redistributable msi creates virtual directory in iis

We are using the Crystal Reports 2008 .NET redistributable msi as part of our software installation. The msi creates a virtual directory in iis for the crystal reports viewer. Because the msi alters iis, one of our clients cannot install it due to their IT policy. Their policy cannot be changed.
Is there any way to prevent the msi from creating this virtual directory? We are not using the virtual directory.

AG's answer is correct. But! If and only if your app does not use the viewer. If your app uses the CR DHTML viewer... well, good by viewer. E.g.; when the app wants to show the viewer, it will either error out, or you will not have the viewer and thus no report...

    Thank you.

    Hi Eliran,
    Thank you for your question.
    Are there any update recently?
We could refer to the following steps to troubleshoot:
    1)disable A/V
    2) Run: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-gb
    3) follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-gb to upload %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
    4) disable snap-ins exept DNS-snapin
    5) run SDP
    6) enable A/V
We could also re-install .Net 4.0 to check if the issue persist by the following link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718
If the issue persist, we could install Exchange 2010 SP3 CU8 by the following link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45225
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

  • How to define a virtual directory for 1virtual server?

    Hi there,
The last part is always the hardest. I succesfully converted my Apache configuration to the SunONE setup but one section and I fail to grasp where I'm going wrong...
SunONE Webserver 6.1SP5, I have quite a few virtual servers divided over several virtual classes. And now I'm trying to configure a 'virtual directory' (pfx2dir nametrans) limited to a single virtual server but no matter what I try I can't get it to work...
In the administration guide I read about the NameTrans directive and how it should be used in the default object (in obj.conf ofcourse). So when I have something like this all works as it should, but for all virtual servers in the class:
    <Object name="default">
    NameTrans fn="pfx2dir" from="/files" dir="/opt/websites/catslair/data"
</Object>So when reading up even more I came across the NSAPI programmers guide which explained that you can have both <Object> and <Client> tags. Because of the 'urlhost' parameter with the Client tag I figured that it should be possible to limit the NameTrans line mentioned above to but one virtual server:
    <Client urlhost="catslair.intranet.lan">
    NameTrans fn="pfx2dir" from="/files" dir="/opt/websites/catslair/data"
</Client>But whenever I use this approach the server refuses to start and presents me with an error:
[13/May/2006:16:38:10] config (19621): CORE3185: Invalid configuration: File /usr/local/sun/SUNWwbsvr/https-magi.intranet.lan/config/server.xml, line 178, column 99: HTTP3258: Error processing Mirrors.obj.conf line 51: HTTP2215: directive outside objectAt first I didn't understand exactly what it meant, I even stumbled upon a bug report which triggered the same error (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4979377) but after reading up on this I can only conclude that NameTrans can only be used within an <Object> block. The manuals also hint into this direction since it becomes obvious that the preffered approach is using this in the default object.
So picture my surprise when I came across http://docs.sun.com/source/817-6252/npgobjcn.html#wp1041206 in the NSAPI programmers guide, its past the table. One of the examples shows this approach:
    <Client odds="25%">
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/Pogues" url-prefix="http://pogues.example.com"
</Client>Because I was sure about urlhost being a parameter for the Client tag I tried copying the above example, but when I give it a try I'm once again greeted with the error I mentioned earlier "directive outside object".
So can anyone please point me in the right direction? Is it possible to setup a virtual directory for a single virtual server and if so how do I proceed since <Client> doesn't seem to work. thanks in advance for any tips you can give me.

Thanks a lot for the example, that fixed the problem.
I've been reading the NSAPI programmers guide several times now and I was under the impression that you should either use <object> or <client>, never thought about this approach. Now when I re-read it is makes sense, but wasn't very clear at first.
I think I'll e-mail Sun to suggest an addition of the <Object> tag in their <Client> tag example (http://docs.sun.com/source/817-6252/npgobjcn.html#wp1045056) to make things a little more clear.
Thanks again, now I can finally implement the final configuration settings and plan for the actual switch later this evening.

  • Windows 7 64bits Installing Internet Explorer 11 ERROR Neutral package installation failed

    Hi,
The laptop is running Windows 7 64bits with Internet Explorer 10 and the Windows automatic updates is turned on. The problem happens when the Windows keeps installing the Internet Explorer 11 every time between shutdown process. So I decided to download
IE11 offline installation and try to install from it but the problem doesn't solve, the installation still does not complete. I have tried to delete all files in the Windows temp folder and IE temp folder already but the problem still exist.

Unfortunately, since then others have quickly stuck a pin in this balloon, finding that it is just one more bump in the road, but at least working around this coding error should change your symptom.
