Virtual Keyboard problems

My IPad Air virtual screen won´t work, is "fixed" to the screen and cannot dimish it as normally from the keyboard icon. Been switching on and off the bluetooth but continues with the sasme problem.
How to resolve?

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

A word document was emailed to me. I can open the document without a problem. Is there a way for me to type on the document.... to fill out the form? When I click the fields, the virtual keyboard does not appear.

If you want to edit a word document then you will need an app on your iPad that supports word so that you can copy them to it via 'open in' e.g. Apple's Pages app or a third-party app such as Documents To Go or QuickOffice HD

Problem with Virtual Keyboard in Apple Apps?

I am using an iPad 3 and have had Numbers and Pages apps since my iPad 1. I am suddenly having a problem with the virtual keyboard covering/hiding the text box where you type. For example, in Numbers: I double tap to type something in a cell and the keyboard comes up but the text box where it shows what you are typing is behind the keyboard. I haven't seen anyone else mention this problem. I have tried it both in landscape and letter orientation. I have deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it but that doesn't change anything. This is also happening in these apps on my iPhone 5. This started happening after the last OS upgrade. Anyone have any ideas? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

No, I haven't seen that on iOS 6.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

By virtual keyboard do you mean a Bluetooth keyboard?
With the iPad, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, Settings > General > Bluetooth - ON
Turn the keyboard on and see if the iPad recognizes it and pairs.

Problem "bug" iOS 8 iPad 2, virtual keyboard and stream hdmi cable (adapter)

Hi all I have a problem with regard to virtual keyboard and streaming through the adapter HdMi, the keyboard when I want to write after a while, the horizontal bar where there google voice covers the top of the letters and unable to write and had to power cycle the device to return to how it was before, while streaming via hdmi between iPad 2 and a monitor when I run the stream, the screen is completely black but emits audio and iPad remains the streaming window with the window crashed the site, what not to do, if I make an end to the stream in full screen, you see a window but not full screen, if someone knows how to help me out on this, you have had the same problem as my'd be happy to hear from you soon and solve this bug in iOS 7.1.2 before that did not happen, thanks and warm greetings to all of you.

When I try to buy ibooks from my ipad, the virtual keyboard is not the same as my computer, and so as my password consists of numbers, letters and symbols my ipad keeps showing that my password is incorrect! Is there any way around this problem please?

Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character?

Yoga 2 Pro No Virtual Keyboard in Tablet Mode?

I can't find a way to get a virtual keyboard to come up when Yoga 2 Pro is in tablet mode...even when I click on a search box in my browser or any other text box nothing comes up. Is there a way to make a touch keyboard come up so you can still type?

Not able to use online banking virtual keyboard with ios 4.3 neither 4.3.2. Used to use with ios 4.2

I used to transfer money via ebanking with my ipad 1 ios 4.2. But since i updated to ios 4.3, i'm not able to do so. Then i bought an ipad 2 and still not able. I updated ios to 4.3.2 yesterday and the problem continue. I can open the bank page without any problem. But when i try to transfer money, it ask for a confirmation key and pops-up an virtual keyboard. Well with ios 4.2 i was able go see the virtual keyboard and enter the key, but with ios 4.3 and 4.3.2, not able to see the keyboard. Safari is set to allow popup windows, but still not able to do so. I installed another webrowser, which allow me to see the virtual keyboard, but when i type the key it doesn't do nothing. Does anyone have an idea how can i solvr this issue? Thanks

Virtual keyboard in wrong place

My keyboard keeps popping up in the top middle of the screen no matter which orientation I use, I have rebooted several times this does not help, close out all my apps and does not help, all apps experience this problem so lastly I just did a full restore and the sync from backup and it STILL does it, this must be a setting but I cannot find it. I have uploaded a picture to show the issue. Thank you so much for your help guys.

If you press and hold the hide keyboard button in the bottom right of the virtual keyboard you will get a pop up that says Dock or Split, press the dock option and the virtual keyboard will return to the bottom of the screen.

N9 French virtual keyboard bug - unable to enter à...

On my Nokia N9, with the French virtual keyboards set, I am unable to enter essential characters such as " à " (a grave), " é " (e acute), " è " (e grave), etc.
Is there a way to enter these characters? Or a solution to this bug?
The only accented character supported for inputs is " ç " (c with a cedillla). This character is rarely used compared to à (a with grace accent), é (e with an acute accent) and è (e with a grave accent).
N900 (physical and virtual) keyboards supported all the above and other accented characters.
A weird twist, there are multiple types of quotation marks supported on the French virtual keyboard (which one would deem totally redundant).

Akashiiii, as Pj98 says, you have to long-press on a character to see the special ones. I've got the french keyboard too and i there's no problem with mine. Just press and move your finger to left or right.

Virtual keyboard sticky in iOS8

After several years of using a Zagg bluetooth keyboard with my iPads (1 and now 3) very happily, IOS8 seems to have distubed things. In particular, the virtual keyboard comes up and cannot be dismissed with the key in the bottom right-hand corner; I have to activate the Zagg keyboard and provide an input after which the virtual keyboard disappears. This wouldn't be a problem except that the VK pops up any time the BT keyboard times out into idle, which is a very few minutes. I'm not sure what is different, but it is annoying to a pain (in a presentation, for example, I do not want the VK popping up just because I haven't input recentely enough to keep the BT keyboard from idling.) Any way of making the VK less sensitive, as it has through the previous 7 iOS systems? Or at least of being able to make it disappear by operating it, instead of having to activite the BT keyboard to get it to disappear?

I ran into the same problem after moving up to iOS8 two days ago. This problem resurfaces whenever I swicthed off my Zagg keyboard. Please go to General, Keyboard then remove all other keyboard but the English one. Next go to Language to remove any other language but English. Afterwards you will see the message of Setting Language. After all things will go back to usual. Suffice to say, if you switch off your Zagg then soft keyboard pops up, you are now able to HIDE the soft keyboard. Hope this helps!
P.S. If you really need to add other language in addition to English, you can do so after resetting the Language on you iPad.

Try a battery pull. Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.

Wacom Intuos 5 with mouse pops up virtual keyboard in Lightroom CC. How to stop that?

I have Windows 8.1 and Lightroom CC.
Whenever I use my Wacom mouse to navigate to a textbox to enter something (like keyword or someone's name) the virtual keyboard pops up and covers half the screen.
As soon as I start to type, the keyboard disappears, but it is very annoying.
This doesn't happen with other applications.
This doesn't happen when I use touch or the pen to navigate to the textbox. Only when I use the mouse.

I had the same problem with LR CC, W 8.1 and Wacom.

IOS 7, iPad 4: keyboard problems with Shift key

Since I have upgraded my iPad 4 to iOS 7 a few days ago the keyboard drives me mad: I did not experience the overall slowness of the keyboard as reported by so many others. Anyway, I reset my settings just to be safe. But the reset had absolutely no influence on my real problem which is as follows:
Whenever and wherever (each app) I type, it is just a matter of luck whether or not the keyboard will recognise me typing the Shift key in order to get capital letters - and there are many caps in German words because each noun must be in caps! In 70% of all cases iOS will just write my capital letters as lower-case ones because it just does not recognise me hitting the Shift key, especially when typing quickly. Under iOS 6 this problem did not exist. I am losing so much time fixing missing capitalisation in all my texts (I use iPad for business) and/or typing extra slow and hitting the virtual Shift key on the screen extra hard that there is absolutely no flow in typing. Everything is just slow, whacky and it drives me nuts! How can it be that the latest iPad 4 with so much CPU power cannot handle a simple thing as typing caps? I am also experiencing problem when using the wipe-up gesture to get umlauts on vowels. It is not as bad as with Shift, but also noticeable.
Is there any solution to this problem? It is a major impediment and I am even considering an iOS downgrade because it is basically killing my ability to work efficiently with my iPad. Otherwise I am kinda okay with iOS 7, but this is a real show stopper. I wonder why I found nobody else on the whole web mentioning this problem.

Holding the shift key fractionally longer solves the problem. But why oh why would Apple require users to fundamentally change the way they touch type by introducing a different keyboarding protocol like this? It is most unlike Apple to have us now have to consciously think about how to touch type all over again.
Intuitive operating systems are what make Apple so great. This keyboard problem is definitely not intuitive and it is driving me crazy.
Apple, you need to change the time weighting on the shift key in iOs 7.04.
Please, pretty please!
