Virtual Machine Not Starting

Hi All,
After creating my virtual machine, and I click start, I get the following errors:
An error occurred while attempting to start the selected virtual machines. 'Test Server' could not initialize.
I have already enabled the VT of the processor and Execute Disable Bit in the BIOS but each time I get the same problem. I have even removed the Hyper-V role and added it again, but no luck. Note that the environment is Windows Server 2008.
Can someone please tell me what I am missing?
Thanks

Hi Crystol,
Have you checked\found anything on event logs.
Check logs under Hyper-V-Worker node under Applications and Services Logs for anything related.
Refer to the below KB article:
"This issue occurs because Windows Server 2008 R2 does not support the AVX feature."
Intel CPU:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2517374/en-us
AMD CPU:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2568088/en-us
Find out if you CPU supports AVX, if yes use the workaround to fix Hyper-V.
Hope you have already checked out below article:

  • "Java Virtual Machine not loaded"

I get this message every time I boot up. It just started recently. Anyone know how to fix that? Everything seems to run okay, but that annoying box pops up every time.
    "Java Virtual Machine not loaded"
    Thanks in advance.
    kar

    To state the obvious:
    1 - Install JAVA
2 - Java is installed: change your PATH vaialbe to point to the folder with JAVA.EXE in it.
3 - check to be sure your CLASSPATH variable is correct -- this will not give you the error you describe, but it will make other things very anoying.
4 - If everything in 1-3 look good, then uninstall, delete any remaining JAVA folders and reboot (cold boot), and then re-install JAVA and pay attention to any errors that may be generated (It sounds like something messed up your install before).

  • Message "Failed to create Java Virtual Machine" after starting Design Studio 1.2 SP1

    Hi experts,
after I installed the SP1 of Design Studio 1.2 I become the Message "Failed to create java virtual machine" and I´m not able to start the Design Studio.
    My java version is 1.7
My SapDesignStudio.ini File (C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Design Studio) looks like as follow:
    -startup
    plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20130327-1440.jar
    --launcher.library
    plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_1.1.200.v20130521-0416

    -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStoreProvider=SunMSCAPI
    -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStoreType=Windows-ROOT
    -Dorg.osgi.framework.os.name=win32
    Any ideas or experiences?
    Many thanks and regards,
    Michael

    Hello Max,
many thanks for your reply and your in my case absolutely correct answer!
In respect to your solution proposal I have renamed my Analysis-workspace folder to "Analysis-workspace-V0"
After I have started the Design Studio 1.2 SP1 a new Analysis workspace folder was created with the typical standard name "Analysis-workspace"
So I have my old Design Studio Application and an new empty Analysis folder.
By the way, in my case in addition to the folder rename it was necessary to change the -Xmx Value (SapDesignStudio.ini File) a little bit lower as in standard (in the DS1.2 SP1 setting) 1024m. To become not the Message "Failed to create Java Virtual Machine" I have changed the -Xmx Value from 1024m to 512m.
Now I´m able to start the Design Studio 1.2 SP1 as expected without Message and without breaks down after 5-6 seconds during the startup.
    Thanks again!
    Best regards,
    Michael

  • Create Protection Group Hyper-V Virtual Machines Not Listed

    Hello,
We are in the process of testing DPM 2012 R2 and we are trying to backup our Hyper-V virtual machines on both cluster hosts and stand-alone Hyper-V hosts.  We have deployed the DPM agent to all cluster hosts and the stand-alone hosts, but when we go
to create a protection group, we do not see Hyper-V Virtual Machines listed under "HyperV".  We are expecting Virtual Machines to show up as shown in Step 7 of this guide: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2013/11/07/dpm-2012-r2-quickstart-deployment-guide.aspx.
We have DPM 2012 R2 UR4 installed and Hyper-V role is enabled on the DPM server.
Is there something extra we need to do or something we are doing wrong?
    Thank you.

    Gleb,
Thank you for your help.  For our cluster, we realized we weren't seeing any VM's under the Cluster Node because an agent was not installed on our of the Hyper-V hosts in the cluster.  As for the stand-alone Hyper-V host and the cluster node listing
within the "Create New Protection Group" wizard, it looks like MOST of the VM's have the "Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot" option, but no longer show as "Online" or "Offline".  I believe this is due to the
way the Hyper-V backups are done w/ DPM which was changed either in R2 or one of the Update Rollups.

  • Azure virtual machine not discovering

We created our back-up vault yesterday. Agents have been installed without any problems. Vault/Virtual machine/storage is all in the same region but it doesn't seem to find any azure virtual machines.
    Regards,

    Hi PCSKnokke,
Are the VMs in a healthy state? If yes, I can look up in the backend to see what is going on. If you can share some information about the VM (name, region) then I can look this up. If you cannot share this information on a public forum, please direct-message
    me on Twitter (@AzureBackup).
Meanwhile, there are issues that we are fixing and perhaps the problem you are facing will get resolved in one of the hotfixes that we will do. Let's investigate anyhow.
    Regards,
    Aashish
Added everything to the same subsription and tried it again. Now it seems to work. Could it be that if you use multiple subscriptions (VM on one subscription, backup vault on other subscription) that this doesn't work?

Since VPC is not an Apple product, I suggest you head toward the Microsoft Office:Mac forums found at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups
That group is dedicated to user questions about MS Office:Mac applications, including VPC. You'll find more answers in that forum rather than an Apple forum focusing on the usage of OS X.

  • Virtual pc and virtual network not starting!

    Hi
Just installed Virtual pc and WIndows xp
When I reboot my mac mini, and start up Virtual PC it says that it cannot start Virtual Network. So then I cant connect to the internett.
Is there a workaround to make it work?
The message says that I should go to Microsoft site and the code is A1004. It also say that I should restart mac and then start up Virtual PC... then it will work. But it does not!

Here is the message I first got when I tried to start up Virtual PC.
    http://homepage.mac.com/baiaz/virtualpc.jpg
In a Norwegian Forum for mac, somebody said that I should upgrade Virtual PC 7 to Version 7.0.2.
I just did and now I dont get this message but still I cant get into internett. any solutions?

    Christian Birkenbeul Thankyou
We can activate the VM Container using the profile parameters mentioned below, which can be changed using profile maintenance (transaction RZ10). Once you have made the change, you need to restart the SAP Web Application Server instance. You need to change the following parameters:
    vmcj/enable = on
    vmcj/option/maxJavaHeap = 200M

    Krishna.

  • Virtual Machine stuck starting up

    Hello.
My vm stuck at starting up state.
I have used powershell to stop it but again after i start it using the portal, it stays at starting up state once again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
As you have already tried  Stop-AzureVM  using powershell, I Recommend you to try refreshing the portal page in the browser. If that doesn't help, try log out and log in back into the azure portal.
If nothing helped, delete the VM’s and be carful to keep the disks , the VHD will remain in the storage.
You can make yourself a backup first (by copying the VHD in some storage explorer tool, like CloudBerry Explorer), to be safe. Then you delete the VM and recreate it from the VHD (you will see it then in your VHD list).
Just be sure, when you recreate the VM, to configure it with EXACT the same parameters (whether in UI or command line).
    Regards,
    Shirisha Paderu

As far you are using VirtualBox, your processor capabilities shouldn't counted (min from my own experience while setting up the virtual machine. Change the Domain Type under configuation node to XEN PVM and try again. Most probably the virtual machine will start running.
One more thing, enable promiscuous mode -> Allow allow with your network configuration (if bridged network is in use) for the VM Server prior you try to SSH into the virtual machine (your guest on VM Server)
All the best and post your test results

  • Virtual Machine

    Hello,
I downloaded Java Runtime Environment v1.4.0_01
on my C drive in a windows folder. When I try to run it,
it says that my security settings need to be set to medium.
I set it to medium and hit apply then refresh as I'm supposed to do.
But each time it says I need to set it at medium again.
The real problem is I'm trying to set up a webpage on Homestead.com
& I got started but needed a virtual machine so I downloaded the above software from Sun.com But everytime I click on the Homestead icon to ( open up )return to build my page it says : "Error : Microsoft Virtual Machine not found Class registry error".
Can any of you help me please ?
    Thanks,
    Robert

u know sun has filed a case law one against Microsoft
    in regarding this virtual machine...
best thing u do is go to microsoft site and downlaod
    a Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine...
    and install it
    thats it...

  • Oracle Enterprise manager not starting

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Manager on my virtual machine running Oracle Linux 5.8. I edited the virtual machine settings to contain 2 CPU cores, 8GB RAM post installation of OEM owing to slow response times from the server. This was done as per the pre-requisite recommendation from Oracle Installation guide. Also, prior to installation of the Oracle DB, I had the user group as dba instead of oinstall. I have now associated the oracle user to the oinstall group instead of dba. Now, I have powered on the virtual machine and started the database and the listener. Now when I try to launch the OMS service, I am not able to get the Management server up and running. The logs show the error on "PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException" and says 'Failed to search audit definition for component JPS. Reason: oracle.secutiry.jps.service.policystore.PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException. Kindly let me know what should I do to get the OMS up and running.
