Virtual switching to connect 2 Digital outputs

I am using FPGA and need two digital I/O to link (act as a switch) for  a couple of seconds then release.  lets say pins 1 and 2
Can anyone advise how I get them to join virtally so the outputs of the two channels (pins 1 & 2) are connected. I do not want any voltage on the lines.
More info: Using NI 9403 modules with CRIO 9148
Thanks

Hi hawkstringer,
Just trying to understand what is it exactly that you wish to do? Are you intending to connect the pins internally ( within the FPGA) or externally?
Also, Is there any particular reason as to why you would like to do this?

can I connect the digital output of flat screen to digital stereo output?

    Hello JRefugio,
    Welcome to the Sony Community.
Are you referring to a Sony flat screen TV? What is the model number of the device to which you wish to connect the digital output from the flat screen? It is required to know the exact model number of the Sony product so that the appropriate information can be provided.
    Thank you for your post.

  • Virtual switch internet connection sharing problem

    Greetings,
I am having a problem with sharing internet connection to virtual machine. I tried to create external virtual switch but without success. From time to time I got an error:
Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes
An internal error occurred while processing the results of creating a new virtual switch. To refresh the results, close and then reopen this window.
but mostly the creation goes fine but after new virtual network device is created I can no longer access internet from Windows 8.1 nor VM as authentication fails (802.1x Secure W2 EAP-TTLS with certificate, username and password). The new device created
by virtual switch manager has authentication changed to Windows Protected EAP(PEAP) instead of original Secure W2 - even if I change it to original Secure W2 nothing happens - authentication still fails.
Sometimes when I try to change authentication settings of new or old NIC I got an error:
The changes to Authentication settings could not be saved
The virtual switch seems to have the same authentication settings as I have had on my NIC but from some reason it doesn't work.
If I am persistent enough I convince to install virtual switch by several attempts but it doesn't work - neither my server (windows 8.1) nor VM can connect to internet.
I hope it is not this:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/341cbe70-3fa7-4991-a7e4-4f1af63df4d0/windows-8-hyperv-8021x-eapol-request-missing?forum=w8itpronetworking
unsolved problem. If it is I am screwed :-/
Any advice how to fix this mess much appreciated...

1.Go to network connection, and find the Wireless network, right click at it.
I am connected by wire (RJ-45) not by WIFI. The cerificate is valid (trusted root certificate used by Secure W2 authentization - not the authentication type you have described).
The problem is in creation of external virtual switch - removed it also with the driver from device manager I installed (and removed) subsequently both motherboard manufacturer latest drivers for my integrated network card and also let windows detect it.
Finally I removed Hyper-V and did a clean installation of network adapter drivers. Then I enabled again Hyper-V role.
After several restarts I tried to create external switch and I was again in the same problems. Then I redid everything and tried to install virtual switch again but
I installed INTERNAL virtual switch instead of external.
External simply doesn't work for me and also destroys functional connections...
To be able to access internet from virtual machine a tried to create a bridge between the connections but then it simply didn't work again (neither could I access internet from host on which was Hyper-V running).
So what has after several trial and errors worked for me eventually - if you would like to have internet connection functional in Hyper-V VM you have to
create INTERNAL VIRTUAL SWITCH and share the original connection and it should then somehow work...

  • How to I connect Sourcing digital output from My Interface Board to NI USB 6501 channel configured as Digital input

When I connect an input to DI channel of USB 6501 card  from my board which has sourcing Output t, iIn the Off state it is not pulled down properly. The volatge on the port in is 2.1V -2.5V based on the pull down resistor on my board. I suspect that  it acts as a voltage divider.
The state on the card is still show as "HIGH "state, even my sourcing output driver has a pull down  resister.  when I use this interface board for PCI mseries devices it works fine. Do the pull down resister on my sourcing output is not worth. Is this because of pull up resister 4.7k inside USB card 6501.
USB 6501 specifications shows the Digital input accepts both source and sink modes. By default the card is in sourcing digital input mode. How do we can convert this in Sinkind digital input mode.
Could anyone Please give your suggestions to overcome this issue .
    Thanks you.

You really should not have both a pull up and pull down on the same line.  Really weird things can happen.  If you insist on having a pull down on your board, then I highly recommend putting a digital buffer chip between the DAQ and your board.
Some boards with DIO have a pull up, while others have pull down.  You just have to watch the specs.

  • Server loses internet connection after creating virtual switch in hyper-v

On a fresh Server 2012R2 Essentials install, I set up Hyper-v and created an external virtual switch. Connection to the vm is good but Health Report no shows loss of internet connectivity and that the router is incorrectly setup.
However, I still have a working internet connection? I worry that the server may not update or allow Anywhere Access at some time. Any suggestions? Thanks

If Hyper-V virtual switch behaves strange and server is destined for testing, then it's correct and I recomend delete this virtual switch and create it again.

  • Virtual Switch adapter getting link-local IP address (apipa)

    Hi Everyone,
Not sure what I am doing wrong here.
I have installed an Hyper-V 2012 R2 core server on a brand new Dell server.
I then went to use Virtual Switch Manager via Hyper-V Manager to create a virtual switch adapter, selected external (I want to share my existing server NIC), allow management operating system to share this network adapter.
Then I configured my virtual machine to use this.
When I start the virtual machine I get a 169 type IP address, cannot ping gateway or host. The VM does not even get a proper IP using DHCP. DHCP is working fine from another physical server.
When I check the hyperv core host and select 8 for  "Network Settings", I get:
    15    192.168.20.44   Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet #5
    22    169.254.101.167 Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #2
Why is hyperv creating a virtual adapter with an Apipa address which is not usable?
I followed all the steps correctly, but it does not work.
Can anyone point me into the right direction to solve this problem?
    Thanks and regards

  • Cannot create Hyper-V external virtual switch Server 2012 R2

    Hi,
I am unable to create an external virtual switch on server 2012 R2.  I have two Broadcom NICS bridged on a DC fully functional now.  I can install Hyper-V but the option is grayed out to create an external switch.  I try binding it to the
network bridge, connecting my two NICS and it makes no difference.
Am I correct in assuming that I cannot use Hyper-V on this server if the two NICS are bridged?

  • HT5783 My MacBook Pro (Mid-2009) digital output has stopped working. It turns on the red light at the other side of the plug, but fails to connect with my receiver. Output from Airport works fine.

It was working fine until now, and now suddenly, the sound is gone. I've tried PRAM and SMC reset. Nothing works.
Using the same cable with my airport express, through airplay, the sound comes out fine.
It wasn't working when on Mavericks, nor now, on Yosemite.

    Hey marcalc,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with the digital output of your MacBook Pro. The following resource may provide a solution:
OS X Mavericks: If you can’t hear sound from your speakers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13841
If you’re trying to listen through a digital receiver
If you’re using your computer’s digital output port (not available on all computers), choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output. Make sure Digital Output is selected.
Make sure your computer is connected to a digital-ready receiver using an optical digital cable, and that your receiver is set up for digital input (see the information that came with your receiver).
Try adjusting the volume on your receiver. You can’t use the computer’s volume controls to adjust the volume while using digital output.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How to give delay in switch on digital output lines

    Hello All,
I am working on PCI-6514 Digital IO card, I am writing a sequence to my application using DAQmax for  Digital input and output lines
I want to switch on one output line0 and after a delay 5sec switch on line1 output and after a delay of 3sec switch on line2 output and sense input line 0 and line 1 .
How can we know the status of output ie output is on or off.
Since i am using the IO card for first time suggest me in this.

    Hi
I am going to assume that you are using LabVIEW 7.1 for this application.  If you are trying to acquire data from an external device after outputting data to that device, the DAQmx tristate property node will give you this functionality.
You will then need a DAQmx write.vi to output your digital data followed by a DAQmx channel property node. Select Digital Output>>Tristate on the property node and wire a true constant into it. After the property node, you can use a DAQmx read.vi to read the data coming into the digital lines. By using the tristate property node, you can avoid stopping the digital output task and starting an entirely new task.  I am attaching an example program that will demonstrate this.

    Hal L.

...probably because 8.1 don't recognize the new Network Adapter?

    Hi Luigi,
“Network connections ethernet properties panel disappear”
Do you mean the properties of the physical NIC cannot be opened or there is nothing in it or something else ?The screenshot seems not to make it clear .
I have checked my own machine .I can open the properties both the physical NIC and the virtual NIC (the virtual NIC on a bridge network adapter)
Will the network work correctly both the virtual machine and the host machine ?Have you tried to restart the machine and then have a check ?
We can run “ncpa.cpl” to get the network connections interface quickly .

actually i use the mini-jack to cinch connection to stream music to my stereo.  is there a possibility to use the digital output?  my stereo amp does not have a digital imput.  are there good converters available?

By default, your AirPort Express is using an internal DAC to convert the digital audio stream to analog when you connect an analog audio cable to it audio output port. You can; however, connect an external DAC to the same port using a optical digital cable and let the external DAC do the conversion for your stereo.

  • Stanton T92 Turntable Digital Output to iMac connection

    Hi,
I have a Stanton T92 Turntable that I would like to connect to my iMac (Mid-2011 Edition) so that I can listen to some records.
My turntable has a coaxle digital output as seen here:
    http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/quality,85/t92_back-f53efc70364b6f0face720a8feb e6d4c.jpg
I am aware that I need an optical mini-plug for the back of my iMac such as this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002JFN1A/ref=gno_cart_title_3
but I am confused on which converter I need to connect to my turntable.
I need to buy either a
Coaxial to Optical Digital Audio Converter
    http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-40018-Coaxial-Converter/dp/B0002J2MV4/ref=pd_sim _e_4
    or
Optical to Coaxial Digital Audio Converter

Which one is the correct one?
Also, do I plug the toslink mini-plug into the output headphone jack and then configure the sound settings?
    Thanks in advance!

The other option:  Could I totally by-pass the digital input/output and just connect a Y-cable splitter from turn turntable to the iMac?

When I go to audio preferences I only see 'Digital Output' as an option. (not 'internal speakers')
The Macbook still thinks there's a jack inside.
Is there a way to switch on to Internal Speakers (because they DO work, but I cant enable them) by disabling the Digital Output?

Are you seeing a red light at the port? It can get stuck so that it still thinks the headphones are plugged in. Try taking another headphone jack and plugging it in a few times.
