Virtual Video

I want to create virtual video of a building and its surroundings. exactly like this link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fq7f7H30dY
Is this possible in Flash? or any other software in which i can easily create such video.

  • Virtual video capture device driver for screencapture available ?

Does anybody know a way to get screen capture in form of a virtual video capture device? I know there are drivers available for other OS (e.g. Windows), but is this possible with OS-X too ?
I want to use the screencapture not only in iChat, but in Flash based videoconferencing/streaming solutions as well, so the normal screen sharing would not work.
    thanks for any help, Mark

  • Virtual video device

    Hi guys / girls(who knows)
It's a bit off the strict "archlinux" subject, but I have a technical challenge that I'd like to share with other experienced linux users / developers.
Here's the context : I'd like to implement some kind of virtual video device, that I could feed with some data (typically a feed from a "real" camera, post processed and mixed with other information, for video chat use).  I'v googled around for existing implementations, and found the following :
    * http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/ … backDevice
    * http://v4l.videotechnology.com/vivi.html
    * http://v4l2vd.sourceforge.net/
but unfortunately all of these solutions require kernel-space intervention.  I ideally would like to remain exclusively on the user-space side, for ease of redistribution and maintenance.  I think there's also a possibility using gstreamer, that has a v4lsink element I think, but gstreamer is not something I'm very familiar with.
Anyone of you having any ideas how I could do that?  I will seriously start looking in-depth at the V4L2 API, but any lead to narrow down my researches would be welcome.
    Thanks in advance,

  • WIndows XP Mode Virtual PC Graphics Card For Video Games

    Hi All,
I have a GeForce GT525M  Graphics Card installed on my laptop. I am using Windows XP Virtual PC to let me play Spore as Windows XP is supported by Spore whereas Windows 7 is not. After an hour of searching for what my problem was, I found out that my
XP virtual machine was using a virtual graphics card instead of my physical graphics card which supports what I need to play Spore.  I know
that Virtual PC is not built for playing games but I really want to figure how to use my physical graphics card Instead of a virtual one for my benefit and for others benefit.
Any help as to how to use my physical graphics card would be greatly appreciated.

You can't.  Virtual PC only presents the virtual video adapter to the
virtual machine and there's not way to change that.
VMWare and VirtualBox both support some enhanced video, but I don't know
if they will do what you need, but I can bet the performance would not be
very good, even if it worked.  virtualization just doesn't work well for
    any real-time activity, especially games.

  • Apple video suggestion

I was watching a video on Youtube the other day. The contents of the video itself is irrelevant, but the quality of the video was stunning. It made me wonder what type of phone or camera it was taking with. In today's youtube era information broadcasts so fast i.e. virtual video. It made me think "was that shoot with an iphone camera"? If it was, how would I know???
I thought of an idea..... What if you had a little apple "stain" for lack of a better word on your camera's videos. Of course you would want to be able to enable or disable the function, but how cool would this be. Free advertisement and for us "look how cool my iPhone's video is type"  a little brag swag.......
    Just a thought

  • Needing "search" help to find a video

Hi, I am looking for a certain virtual video, and with my search, I'm not coming up with anything. So I decided to write and ask if you knew where I could look, or what exactly I should put in the search fields??
You know how at a gyms "spin class" they have a virtual video for you to watch, where its actually like your biking through whatever is on the screen. I am wondering if there was something I could get on iTunes that is similar to that for walking/ running on the treadmill.
I know there are websites that sell DVD's online, but that doesn't help when your at a gym and cannot put in a DVD! =)
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you so much!

smercurio has already asnwered you with good tips. Generally speaking it is not a good idea in C to have the callee allocate memory and return it to the caller. Instead the caller allocates the necessary memory and passes it to the callee to be filled in. The other way around will require the caller to have specific knowledge about the memory management routines used in the callee and make everything rather complicated. In terms of LabVIEW with its own quite different memory management you really get into difficulties if you try to do it backwards.

  • Skype Update Broke Support For USB Video Capture D...

We use video to USB adapters to integrate Skype into our classroom set ups and the most recent upgrade seems to have broken support for these types of devices. The only solution we've come up with so far is to downgrade to 6.1.0.129 and turn off auto updates (which is a band-aid at best). Any idea why Skype chose to do this and what might be the best way around the issue? The issue is with everything from cheap StarTech USB dongles all the way up to Black Magic Design's Intensity Shuttle. Our class capture cameras do not support USB unfortunately.

I believe at least starting with 6.2 the video support was being reworked in one way or another, possibly from the ground up.  It appears a lot of compatibility especially with virtual video devices/overlays was lost.  I don't believe that was intentional. The only thing you can do is continue to use 6.1 until a future release restores compatibility.

  • Skype Browser Video Plugin

    Good afternoon to all!
I'm developing a website based on WordPress and I absolutely need to include video call capability to it. The site needs to be cross-platform compatible with all kinds of devices: desktops, laptops and mobile devices (windows mobile, android and iOS).
I would very much like to include skype as my communications solution, as it is the best communications platform for what I need: powerful, versatile, reliable, etc., but I can't find any solution to embed skype into my WordPress design to be able to make video calls directly from my webpage in a plugin-fashion, so that I don't force users to run another application while they are using the website.
Can anyone direct me to a solution to my problem, or am I inevitably stuck with other, less interesting, products or the html call to the skype application?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Jose Lourenco

    Hi,
The current version of Skype for Web does not yet feature the configuration options to switch audio or video devices but instead uses the Windows default device for each category.
It could be your default video device is a "virtual video device" which basically sends your screen's content.

  • CPU 90% While Playing Videos?

    Hi,
My concern is: While waiting for youtube video to load my CPU ranges 10-20% but when I play the video my CPU range jumps 81-92% during entire video. If I stop the video it drops back down to 10%...Is this normal?
Of course this is better than last 2 weeks when it would stay up to 50-60% while just loading and jumped up to 100% when playing which was choppy as well.
    Thank you for your time.

Also what is the "64MB VRAM" you posted...virtual/video?
Video, to see yours... System Profiler>Hardware>Video.
You posted: CPU usage on YouTube 36% to 65%. Is this loading & playback range?
Yes, that is loading & playing at the same time, depends on the Video though.
Is there something I could do to help lower it besides not ever playing any more videos or is this my only option?
Let's find out how much VRAM you have & what Video Card, but At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

  • Onboard video trouble

i'm really really confused about my old ms 6378 ver 3 m/board. i'm planning to buy a pci video card but i heard the onboard video can't be turned off. i also heard that msi boards are designed to automatically turn off the onboard video.. but is it really possible to use it on my board?? if it's possible, what's the limit of video ram it can support and how do i change those bios settings?? plzz help...
    my pc specs:
    ms-6378 v3
    duron 1.1gHz
    128 ram
    350w psu
    win2k pro

Some info from my previous post:
The problem you are experiencing could trace back to a video card design defect with version three of the board in combination with Windows XP and all of the drivers to date. The only solution is to send back the board to MSI and request a different model. The model MS-6738-010 has an AGP slot with similar specs. I just sent back the same board experiencing the same problems. It is being widely reported on the web also. Microsoft support has already investigated numerous crash reports from many people with the same problem. It all comes down to a video card problem in combination with the drivers for the board.
MSI currently has no fix for the problem on this board. Your only choice is to send it back and request another board.

Hi.I notice that the FAQ for this board says that the onboard video cannot be disabled, does that mean that it is impossible to use a pci graphics card on it?If it is possible, how would i go about it?

  • Installing Windows 7 Upgrade Edition on a new Macbook Pro

    Hi all,
I am a recent convert to Apple after becoming more and more disillusioned with Windows for the past 10 or so years. I have ordered a shiny new 15" 2011 MBP and can't wait for it to arrive!
My issue is that I am going to need to install Windows for occassional use with certain software as well as occassional gaming. I have a legitimate copy of Windows XP (as well as ME and 98) which I am perfectly happy with - However I understand that the new Macbooks will no longer support WinXP via Bootcamp?
I am a student and have recently purchased a copy of the Windows 7 upgrade edition to rectify this, but I have now read that you cannot perform a "clean" install from the upgrade edition?
I'm afraid I am finding this all very confusing. I do own a legitimate copy of WinXP, and am eligable for the Win7 upgrade, so any help getting this installed on my new Macbook? I would hate to have to keep my ancient desktop around just for Windows, as this would defeat the object of my new purchase.
    I have found the following guide;
    http://www.winsupersite.com/article/windows-7/clean-install-windows-7-with-upgra de-media.aspx
Does anyone know if this will work in my case or has anyone tried on a brand new MBP?
Thanks in advace for any advice and guidance you can offer.

I have read in an issue of Mac Format about installing Windows in VirtualBox? I'm not really sure how this differs from using BootCamp and what the advantages/disadvantages are...
Virtualization through Virtualbox (or Parallels or Fusion,) allows you to create a "virtual machine." In this virtual machine, you install Windows or Linux or whatever OS, just like you would a physical machine. But the "machine" is just some software and you view the machine as window within OSX. Think of it like a word processing program like Microsoft Word. You run Word to create documents. You can have multiple documents, but the documents can only be "run" within Word. And you can have multiple documents open at the same time and you can switch back and forth between documents without having to reboot OSX. So it is with virtualization. You can create multiple virtual machines (if you have enough hard drive space, just like Word.) You can run multiple virtual machines (if you have enough RAM, just like Word.) It's just that the "documents" are now operating systems rather than word processing or spreadsheets. The big advantage is that you don't have to reboot out of OSX in order to use Windows.
...i'm looking to mostly use windows for gaming, would this method be suitable for that as i see I would not have to restart the system.
And then we come to the disadvantage. A virtual machine has "virtual hardware". The "guest" operating system doesn't actually "see" the physical hardware directly. Instead a virtual motherboard, virtual hard drive, virtual keyboard, etc, are "presented" to the guest OS. The virtualization software must "interpret" the requests from the guest OS into things the physical hardware must do. As with any interpretation, there is a delay. Think of it like if you spoke only French and you talk through an interpreter to someone who only spoke Swahili. It works, but is slower than if you were able to speak Swahili. For most things, this is fine. The weak link is the virtual video card. A simple game like solitaire doesn't need much graphics power so the "slowness" is not an issue. But a FPS game like Call Of Duty or Crysis, where graphics performance is critical, a virtual machine often chokes. So the use of virtualization in gaming really depends on the game.
BTW, there is another technology called emulation that is similar to virtualization, but in general is slower than virtualization. Emulation is used when the CPU required for the guest OS is different than what the physical host has. For example, if you wanted to run Windows on a PowerPC Mac. This is why the Mac changing to Intel CPUs was so exciting because it allowed the use of the faster virtualization technology for Macs to run Windows.
So the decision to use Boot Camp or virtualization depends on your needs. Me personally, I work with virtual machines daily due to my work with testing servers and such. With virtualization I am able to run several virtual machines simultaneously and so can simulate a whole network all within my Macbook. My work doesn't involve much graphics tasks with games, Photoshop, video, etc, so virtualization is fine. If your game is a FPS, then you probably wouldn't find virtualization acceptable. But "simple" games it may be fine. Virtualbox is free, but Parallels and Fusion sometimes do better with certain games. Parallels and Fusion have trial versions so you may want to try them as well. If you do, when you create the virtual machines, do NOT activate Windows until you're sure you're going to purchase. The various products do NOT use the same file format so converting a virtual machine to another format is tricky. If you do activate Windows, then decide to use a different product but are unable to convert the virtual machine, it's not a big deal to call Microsoft for the reactivation, but it is inconvenient, so better to avoid activation until you're sure.

  • Question about parallels desktop

    Hello!
I have a little problem with my Parallels Desktop. I have installed a windows xp operating system with parallels desktop, but the virtual video card's memory is only 256Mb. In Mac OS X i have 2 video cards. One with 256Mb memory and one with 512Mb memory. Maybe can you help me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!:)

    Hi Tojas;
I would certainly hope that if you told the folks at Parallels that you were interested enough in their code to try a demo but that you were having problems with it that they would help you.

  • Help solving this Bugcheck! Please and thanks!

    Hey guys,
My computer has been crashing to the Windows 8.1 blue screen a lot lately. 4 times today!! making hard to get any work done. I had an issue with this in February but it seemed to go away on its own (maybe
    with driver updates?).
But this last two weeks have been too crazy with the crashes so I thought I would try and solve it today. I looked at the stability action center and found this error (along with others):
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe001a058d028, 0x00000000bf800000, 0x0000000000000124). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 111014-26875-01.
I have located the minidump file but I lack the ability to properly open and understand it. tried a text editor but its full of nulls.
I have uploaded it to my skydrive https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=AFD6BF318F3CA1E!106&authkey=!ABLwmVs4ef-2kyU&ithint=file%2cdmp
if anyone could help me figure out the problem that would be great! I am currently in the process of making sure all my drivers are up to date, and checking my RAM...
thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
    -LCN

DFMirage driver, uninstall for troubleshooting purposes as it's old, unsupported for Windows 8, and I can see how a driver for a virtual video device can possibly play a role in a crash like this.
If all of the above fails, there is only so much you can do with a bug check like this until it comes down to a faulty processor that will need to be replaced. Start from 1 and work downward:
    1. Ensure your temperatures are within standard and nothing's overheating. You can use a program such as Speccy if you'd like to monitor temps -
    http://www.piriform.com/speccy
    2. Clear your CMOS (or load optimized BIOS defaults) to ensure there's no improper BIOS setting -
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm
    3. Ensure your BIOS is up to date.
    4. If all of the above fail, the only left to do is replace your processor as it is faulty.
