  • I upgraded to Mavericks and now the scoll on my trackpad won't work. It works in Chrome, the finder, or MS suite. Only FF doesn't work.

The question has pretty much all the details. I'm running latest FF and Mvericks and the scroll/backward/forward function in the trackpad doesn't work. I can scroll in any other program, just not FF.

  • Adobe hosted videophone example doesn't work?

What can be going wrong for me when others claim this is working??
I've tried using the Adobe hosted videophone example at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cirrus/samples/
It works fine for me when I have two machines on the same LAN both connecting to the service with firewalls operating.
It does NOT work when one of the machines has a different connection to the Internet, hence diff IP address
I checked that UDP outbound and inbound is permitted in each firewall.
Even when I turn firewalls OFF on both machines the app only works when both machines are on the same LAN.
We have tried this from net connections in USA and UK: in both locations, the videophone app works fine between machines on the same LAN, but fails to work when machines are on a separate Internet connection; and, it goes without saying, we can't connect the videophone app internationally.
Now all of this is with the Adobe hosted example. We downloaded the sample code and followed the instructions in this article and set up our own working examples, both in a web-hosted Flex version and a desktop AIR version. Again, similar results: our own web and AIR versions work just fine when talking locally over a LAN, but both fail when two machines are connected to different Internet connections and this is regardless of Firewall settings.
This is REALLY frustrating and we wonder what we can be missing?!

Thanks for the helpful pointers, Michael. It seems that we likely are running into NAT or firewall issues.
However, that leaves me wondering what on earth Cirrus can be useful for in the real world? I guess it is just possible that it might be useful in a large corporate campus where you can run multiple instances of an app on machines behind the same firewall; but for anything that is designed to be deployed on multiple end-user machines across the Internet it has no usefulness that I can see. In the real world, there is a huge mix of router and firewall configurations that the developer can have no control over: the P2P capabilities need to handle this without requiring end users to do nasty config work.
Adobe seems to have dropped the ball here: on the one hand, AIR apps can be easily installed and updated with a single button click; but if the new P2P capabilities are to work it seems we have to get end users to do nasty editing of configuration files to tunnel through NAT/firewall.
This is just not a subject that most Flex and AIR developers will have experience of so we really need some easy step-by-step instructions or better tools to enable us to make use of these capabilities in the real world!

  • Unlocked, only it doesn't work

I had an unlocked iPhone 4s, only my phone doesn't know about it.
The device belonged to my father, he purchased it in Hungary, but recently he upgraded to a iPhone 5s, so he had his old phone unlocked by his mobile provider in Hungary (T-Mobile), so I would be able to use it here (UK). We didn't have a chance to try the phone in Hungary, so I only found out here, that it is in fact not unlocked. I had the Hungarian T-Mobile check, if the unlocking process went through their system, and I was given an affirmative answer. After having tried to restore the phone several times (I was told that might help), it still won't accept my new SIM. So I went to the Apple Store, where I was told to contact my provider! Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    "This is the expected behaviour."
thanx, that is what I wanted to know.
but I don't understand what do you mean with "change the version name" ?
please, could you explain your advice.

  • Prime 1.3 Perf Mon Deploy Config doesn't work Invalid commands

When I try to deploy configuration to my 6509 or 3750 the template creates the following code.  The job fails and when I try to manually input this, the system doesn't recognize it.  Is there a minimum ios requirement or another template that will work with my device ios versions?
    6509    Version 12.2(33)SXJ4
    3750   12.2(55)SE6
    flow exporter Exporter1
    destination 10.10.10.10
    transport udp 9991
    class-map match-all class-all
    match any
    flow monitor type performance-monitor Flow1
    record default-rtp
    export Exporter1
    policy-map type performance-monitor Perf1
    class class-all
    flow monitor Flow1
    interface Vlan 110
    service-policy type performance-monitor input Perf1
    service-policy type performance-monitor output Perf1

I believe that you are missing the flow record command.
In flexible netflow you need to have 3 things, a flow exporter, a flow record, and a flow monitor.
In your config I see the flow exporter and the flow monitor, but no flow record.
Was the flow record configured previously and that's why its not in your template?
Here is an example of a flow record:
    flow record standard
    match ipv4 tos
    match ipv4 protocol
    match ipv4 source address
    match ipv4 destination address
    match transport source-port
    match transport destination-port
    match interface input
    collect transport tcp flags
    collect interface output
    collect counter bytes
    collect counter packets
    collect timestamp sys-uptime first
    collect timestamp sys-uptime last

  • Exchange Failover - Outlook Doesn't Work with 1 Server

    Hi,
    Wondering if someone could help.
We have 3 Exchange 2010 servers with all roles installed.  All at SP3 RU6.  DAG set up between all 3 servers for all mailbox databases.  Manual failover is enabled.  MB1 holds all copies.  Outlook 2010 with all latest updates being
    used by end clients.
MB1 - Main Physical Server – All Active Copies – No Issues
MB2 – Secondary Physical server – Passive – Problem Server
MB3 – VM for use in the worst case scenario – Passive – No issues
We simulated MB1 failing.  We can get MB2 to take ownership of the databases manually.  OWA works fine, mail flow works fine but whenever we open Outlook it either fails to connect and continues to say “Server is unavailable, Retry, Work Offline,
Cancel” or the inbox loads but it loads old mail from a month+ ago (I actually this this may be a cached mode setting that’s being taken from somewhere even though cached mode is disabled) and sits at “Offline”.  If I do the “Test E-mail Auto configuration”
then everything passes fine but we can’t get the client to go online at all.
If I fail everything over to MB3 then it all connects up ok and works fine.  I stuck MB1 back online with mailboxes being active on MB2 and Outlook pointing to MB1 and it works fine.  The only thing that appears to be broken is when Outlook points
    to MB2 only.
    Thanks

We don't have a CAS array set up.  We want the fail over to be fully manual and only fail over to another server when mb1 is in a completely failed state and won't be back up and running withing a set time frame.  We can get everything working
on MB3 and only Outlook doesn't work when everything is on MB2.  Outlook also doesn't work if databases are on another server and DNS is pointing Outlook to MB2 (again MB3 works fine).

  • Synchronization of tasks and interaction logs with Outlook doesn't work

    Dear SAP Experts,
    I'm workink on CRM 7.0 (release 7.7.06.010).
We are trying to make the synchronization of activities, contacts and tasks from our CRM system to Microsoft Outlook.
It's working fine for the contacts and for the Apointment BP visit (transaction type Y020).
But no synchronization made for others activities (interaction log Y007 and telephone calls PCAL) or BP Tasks (Y030) we created in the system.
We just applied today SAP Note 1415263 and Groupware Integration 3.057.
I made the settings in the CRM Calendar tab in Outlook (with synchronization from CRM to Outlook), and checked apointment, contacts and tasks.
In customizing (CRM > Transactions > Basic settings > Define transaction types), I flagged for the following transaction types the little 'Calendar' box: Y020, Y030, Y007 and PCAL.
In another entry (CRM > CRM Middleware and related components > Settings for client-based synchronization), I indicated the transaction type Y020 for DEFAULT_APPT_PROC_TYPE and Y030 for DEFAULT_TASK_PROC_TYPE.
Any idea about what is missing or not already done?
    Any help will be apppreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Kind regards,

  • Mail Rule Doesn't Work

I participate at some message boards. I recently upgraded my yahoo email account so I could POP my mail using Mac Mail. Fine. So I tried to set up a rule to route emails from those boards into a mailbox in Mail I created called "Message Boards". Only it doesn't work. The messages go into the Inbox and not the boards mailbox. What did I do wrong? I set it so that anything from those incoming emails would be moved to that mailbox, but it's just not doing it.

Try splitting it into two separate rules, one for each condition. Add an action after your colour action "stop applying rules"

  • Upload webpage through Filezilla doesn't work

    Hi
I've created a page with Muse, I tried to upload it through ftp to an external hosting, but it doesn't work. Apparently I make eveyrthing correct but when I go to my website the page won't show. Hosting name is netsons.
    Can anybody help?
    Thank you

Are you using the built in FTP or a third party FTP client? Is that a 404 error when you access the page at the remote site? Make sure you do not have Export Page option disabled for the affected page (look for the option in the page's context menu in Plan/Design mode).
If that is not the case, please share the page URL.

I need to use VirtualBox on an almost daily basis for work... I would highly appreciate you help so thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm not sure I fully understand your issue.
Are you telling VirtualBox don't allow you to add a Host-Only Adaptor via main menu File -> Net -> Add button? I once hit this problem and was lost some days because I come from the *buntu-land and all this configuration was nearly automatic there. If this is your problem you should first download and install the rigth AUR package, tha one working for me is virtualbox_bin now at latest version 3.1.8-1, you will need to install also virtualbox-additions. After you installed VirtualBox follow the instructions provided by packagers:
    IMPORTANT NOTES:
    - Run "vbox_build_module" as root every time your kernel is upgraded, to
compile the module for the new kernel version.
    - Add your user to the vboxusers group:
         gpasswd -a USERNAME vboxusers
    - Add "vboxdrv" to the MODULES array in your "/etc/rc.conf"
    - Add "vboxnetflt" to MODULES if you want Host Interface networking.
    - Add "vboxnetadp" to MODULES if you want Host-Only networking.
    - If USB does not work for you out-of-the-box, add the following line
      to "/etc/fstab":
         none /proc/bus/usb usbfs auto,busgid=108,busmode=0775,devgid=108,devmode=0664 0 0
Once you do that you'll be smoooooth 8-D

  • Very Very long ping time, only on arch, and preload doesn't work

Arch is the most amazing Linux system I have ever used. I get like a 30 second boot time from start to finish, i'm just wowed.
I am using arch64, and have only 2 problems!
    1. I have like a 32ms ping, for any site, toooo big. I have a 3com NIC card which Is currently being used as eth1, and an nvidia network controller on my board eth0. The nvidia controller doesn't work right, so i am using the 3com, with a huge ping time
    2. preload isn't working. I have 3gb of RAM, and AMAZINGLY only 400mb of RAM is being used, with 9 tabs in firefox open, compiz-fusion, gnome desktop. DAMN! I want more RAM being used, what is wrong with this?? (the problem is that things start up a little slow, so it must mean it is not staying in the RAM)
Please tell me what I can do to fix these problems!
EDIT: Could it have something to do with the groups I am in, or the preload.conf settings, or the rc.conf file?

I saw your latency thingy... though that aint so bad

and compare that to a norwegian host

all in all, you should not be so annoyed unless your used to sub 10 ms ofc.. but this is still very quick for a webhost, atleast i think so.

  • VirtualBox 4.0.2 internal DHCP problem in Host-only mode?

    Hi,
dos anyone have experience problems with VirtualBox 4.0.2 internal DHCP not working when running Oracle Linux and a Host-Only adapter.
More detailed described my problem is that Oracle Linux don't get a ip from the internal DHCP server om my system. My host is Win 7 (64 bit) and Guest Oracle Linux (64 bit). I have read that there are several ohers who experienced the same problem with the open source version, but that patching the Guest Tools to 4.0.3 helped them. Sadly this is not the case for me. Any suggestions are welcome and thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply - my problem is that the build in dhcp server is not working for some reason and i dont't gen any ip address assigned. I can see from the VBoxManager that it is running, but i can't get i contact with it from the linux guest.
