Virtualisation in Satellite C850

Hi
I installed VMware virtualisation software in Satellite C850-1KN and tried to used SAS software on top of this. And then I made necessary changes in the BIOS setting still I am getting the following errrors: Binary translation is incompatible with long mode on this platform. & the next popup says: This virtual machine is configured for 64 bit guest operating system. However 64 bit operation is not possible. This host does not support Inte VT-X. And I have enabled the Virtualisation Technology VT-x only in BIOS. Any clues as to what I should be doing?

The notebook supports the Intel Pentium B960
The Intel ARK page provides all details about this CPU
http://ark.intel.com/products/59836/
As you can see the Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) isnt supported!

  • How can I use bluetooth on my Satellite C850-B906

Please help me. How can I use bluetooth on my C850-B906 Satellite. I can't find it on the search bottom and even in PC Device, bluetooth is not there. This laptop has bluetooth according to its specs. (Bluetooth / W-LAN (802.11B/G/N).
Any good answer will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
First of all: you are right: the Satellite C850-B906 supports Bluetooth
    http://www.toshibamea.com/CSPDF/Satellite_C850-B906-52424.pdf?ran=4qmi69d8z1
But the notebook was not preinstalled with an Windows system and therefore I guess you installed the Windows OS (which one?) at you own hand.
Probably you did not install the essential software / drivers which would allow you to use the BT
The Realtek WLan module supports BT and therefore you have to install the Bluetooth Filter Driver Package a well as the BT stack from Toshiba driver page.
After that you have to use the function key combination to enable the BT.

  • Satellite C850 - blue screen on start-up

    Hi,
My elderly father has a Toshiba Satellite C850-1MC Laptop - (Intel Pentium B960 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 15.6" HD LED, DVDRW, Intel HD, Webcam, Bluetooth, Windows 8 64bit).
When he starts the laptop the initial screen appears for a short period then goes to a blue screen with only the mouse pointer showing (no error codes appear).
If when on the initial screen he quickly presses a button it will go to the welcome screen for a very short period and then go to the blue screen as above.
Anyone got any ideas how to sort?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
Are you able to access the BIOS?
Power up the unit and press F2. This should allow you to access the BIOS.
In case this is possible, the notebook has passed the POST (power on self test) properly and this would mean that no serious hardware problems has been detected.
In case this isnt possible, I assume the hardware is affected. In this case you should start with the RAM module check.

    Hi,
Since I installed Windows 8.1 on my computer Satellite C850-1CN ref. : PSKCAE my SD port does not work
I would like to know if there is a driver I need to download because I searched the site for a pilot port but in vain ...
Sorry for my English I speak French and I hope I'm in the right forum

    Hi
You have to download and install the card reader controller driver for Win 8.1 system
This driver should be the right one:
    [Card Reader Controller v 6.1.8400.30136 Windows 8.1 - 64 Bit|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=312&selProduct=7499&selSh ortMod=3417&language=13&selOS=all&selType=316&year upload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode= allMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=a ll&selectedLanguage=13&type=316&page=1&ID=88526&OS ID=46&driverLanguage=42]

op. system win 8 64 bit brandnew.

    Hi
The message says that you have to install the system again using recovery media
As far as I know the notebook was preinstalled with the WIN 8 64BIT system.
You can use the HDD recovery option
Power on the unit and press F12.
Then choose HDD recovery option appearing in the boot menu.
Follow the instruction on the screen
    Good luck!

  • No CD or USB-boot on Satellite C850-Z19 - Only Win 8 boots up

    Hello!
    I just bought a Toshiba Satellite C850 - Z19 (Windows 8 is installed).
Although I edited the BIOS for booting with CD and USB before the HD, my usual bootable Debian Lenny and Squeeze CDs (32 or 64bit version) do not boot, only Windows 8 finally does.
I tried many BIOS config, I have no more idea; .the retailer (using Ubuntu) could not help.
    Is it possible?
    jchrbe

    Quite good track.
The UEFI mode was ON in the BIOS. To remove it:
    Starting the PC with [F2]
Advanced / System configuration / Starting mode: CSM rather than UEFI.
Typing a password for the superuser (otherwise, anybody controls your PC by BIOS access)
[F10] to exit and save the parameters
And never, never forget the password.
    Thanks

  • Satellite C850-19Z - cannot install display driver

    Hi
    I have had to reinstall my Toshiba Satellite C850 - 19Z ----- PSCBWE - 02400NEN
with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
    The laptop uses Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU B830 @ 1.80GHz 1.80 GHz processor
Everything has installed fine apart from the display driver.
I downloaded the following file as my laptop is using an Intel Processor
    Intel Display Driver
    Version 8.15.10.2752
    display-20130924153144.zip4
    For model Satellite C850
I found the file using the following drop down options on the Toshia website
Satellite C850 PSCBWE Windows 7 64 Bit Display Driver United Kingdom English
When I try to install the file I get the following error message:
This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
I have checked the requirements in the readme file. The three requirements are:
    1.
    3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) processors
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 processor
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 processor
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 vPro(TM) processor
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 processor
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 vPro(TM) processor
I am not sure which generation my processor belongs to but i'm assuming it is one of the above since this is the driver for my specific laptop.
    2. The software should be installed on systems with at
least 1 GB of system memory.
I have 4 GB of RAM and my system is showing 4 GB is installed.
    3. There should be sufficient hard disk space in the <TEMP>
directory on the system in order to install this
    software.
I have 270 GB of free space in my primary hard drive / partition which windows is installed into. The file defaults to extract in this hard drive / partition.
I cannot figure out what the problem is with this installation.
    Please help!!!
    Thanks

    Hi
As you said, the notebook was equipped with the Intel Celeron processor B830
This CPU supports the Intel HD graphic chip as mentioned on the Intel ARK page:
    http://ark.intel.com/de/products/71141
The driver can be downloaded also from Intel page:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
    Here choose:
    -Graphics drivers
    -Laptop graphics drivers
-Intel Celeron Processors with Intel HD graphics
Here you can download an zip package.
Then you will be able to update or install the driver within the device manager.
You can use the Advanced installation which will help you to point to the unzipped driver folder

  • Recover Satellite C850-F12S - currently installed Win 8.1

    hi!
i bought my Satellite C850-F12S with Win 7 Starter now i installed Win 8.1 and i want to restore it to its original state back to Win 7 Starter but dont know how to do that.
I didnt create recovery image so m lost on how to recover it.
    Anyone help me please

If you did not create the recovery medium in the past, then you will not be able to recover the notebook.
The HDD recovery isnt possible anymore because the HDD recovery partition was deleted during Win 8.1 installation.
You have only one option to do that: you have to order such recovery disk:
    http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Cannot start Windows on my Satellite C850 laptop

Powers on fast, but only shows Toshiba logo, tried all the F8, 0, keys etc, computer came to me overloaded, no disc clean up, preinstalled windows 8, cannot access BIOS.
As stated will only show LOGO, no beeping/noise, can hear it running quietly, would like to reset to factory/out of box condition, PSCBWA-09l001 = PART NO. What to do???
Love a challenge, no disc, no backups, but I know the solution is out there somewhere without paying more big bucks.
    Grateful for any suggestions.

It looks like the Satellite C850 PSCBWA-09L001 was released in Australia.
The notebook was preinstalled with Win 8.
There are two possibilities to set the notebook back to factory settings:
    1) HDD recovery
    2) Recovery disk (DVD or USB flash memory stick)
    Here an instruction:
[How to access Recovery, Restore and Reset Options in Windows 8|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/776]
To access the System HDD Restore, Refresh and Reset options using the F12 option at start up, perform the following:
    1. If not already, ensure the computer is completely shut down.
    2. Now restart the computer by pressing the power button - IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F12 key on the keyboard until the "Boot Menu" screen appears.
    3. Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery> and press "Enter".
    4. On the next screen you are asked to confirm if you want to continue with recovery. Select "Yes".
    5. The computer will bring you to the Advanced start up screen.
    6. Select Troubleshoot. Under Troubleshoot you will see Refresh and Reset.
    7. Select Advanced options. Located here is "System Restore."

  • How do I install Win 8 on Satellite C850 following HDD failure?

I have a PC repair business, and a customer has brought me a Satellite C850-1KN laptop which has had a catastrophic hard drive failure (just clicking sound coming from the drive.)
I replaced the hard drive and tried booting from a Windows 8 DVD, by changing the boot order in the bios, however, it still gives a "no bootable device" error message.
I see no way of turning off UEFI boot, it is grayed out in the bios setup.
How can i reinstall Windows on this laptop?

First of all you should know that the setting (CSM/UEFI mode) needs to be changed only if you want to install non-UEFI capable system (Win 7 and older).
Win 8 and Win 8.1 are UEFI capable systems and you should be able to use the UEFI mode option.
How about the secure boot option?
Did you find it and did you try to disable this option?

  • I need information about Satellite C850

    Why I can't find information about "satellite C850 - B717/B718/B719/B720"
in this site of Toshiba, what is the problem?, I found all information for other C850 models, but not for the one I mentioned.

It depends for which region or country is this laptop offered.
    Where do you live?
Does some store in your country offers this model?
Have you checked official Toshiba page for your region/country?

  • How to get better graphic performance on my Satellite C850?

    Hi.
I have a problem with my *Toshiba Satellite C850-B253* and The problem is of graphic,in my PC when i run "**PES 2013**" the game warned to me even my *GPU* is not minimum and is very low to open this program.
Please give me a issue that the game and my computer work better of past.
    Thank you

    Listen dude
You bought this notebook Satellite C850-B253 which is equipped with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 with shared memory (memory amount : up to 1,696 MB shared memory with 4 GB system memory installed (with pre-installed 64-bit operating system)
Dont expect too much from this internal graphic chip.
Your game is new and requires great GPU performance. If you are a gamer, you should purchase a notebook with an external GPU like ATI or nVidia.

  • Re: Satellite C850-B763 - I've lost my original Win8 version

    Hi
I have a problem, I bought a Satellite C850-B763 Laptop with win 8 Pre-installed and suddenly my pc stopped working like normal I don't know if it's because virus or it's a windows problem, anyway I had to format my disk but I forget that I didn't got a win dvd with my Laptop.
I had to use a win 7 and I want to have windows 8 so is there any way to get back my original Pre-installed Win8?
    Thanks

To be honest you have big problem. Please don't understand me wrong but I don't understand why you don't read users manuals document and pick up some info about your product. There is clearly described that original recovery image is saved on HDD and you can reinstall it using recovery option.
There s also option to create recovery media. It can be DVD or USB. This recovery media can be used if there is some problem with HDD recovery installation or HDD itself. Now you have really big problem. I presume you didnt create this recovery media and after Win7 installation you don't have factory settings anymore and HDD recovery installation is not possible anymore.
If you want to have original Win8 version for your notebook you must order original recovery disc. It can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    Bye and good luck

More than likely its the UK / Asia release, I keep seeing them on here. The error is for a invalid name space in the WMI script. If your getting this during a Windows Upgrade, your media may be corrupt. If it is a store bought media, try to exchange it. If it is a downloaded media, make sure to use the Windows Download tool, it is compatible with Windows XP and up. Windows USB/DVD Download Toolhttp://download-codeplex.sec.s-msft.com/Download/Release?ProjectName=wudt&DownloadId=96313&FileTime=129048694816630000&Build=21018 Display Driverhttp://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/display-20130925093342.zip
