Hi there I suddenly got a pop up window when I was browsing Facebook. It says
WARNING!
Your video player is infected!
System has two malicious viruses: Rootkit.Sirefef.Spy und Trojan.FakeAV-Download. Your personal and financial information is not secure.
Remove viruses, Please promptly update your video player:
Is this a virus? I am sorry if I asked a stupid question but I am really confused. I am using Mac with google chrome as my browser.

Well, you can relax... BOTH of the "infections" it lists ( a "Rootkit" and a "Trojan").... WON'T run on a Mac, so you KNOW it's a fake. There's NO WAY it could have detected WIndows malware on a system running OS X.
I'd stay away from that Facebook page, and report it to them.

You need to uninstall the Community / Conduit toolbar add-on.
Locate the files in bold print and move them to the Trash. The first five are in your root /Library
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/ScriptingAddtions (anything CTLoader realted)
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
The next one is in your Home folder.
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
When you're done, try Safari.

At first, it can be difficult to determine which version of Numbers you are using. The user interfaces are different, but if you are new to the apps you may think you are using the new version when if fact you have launched the older version. Make sure you are using Version 3.x. Then you won't get the message that you need a newer version.
Use Spotlight to launch Numbers. After typing Numbers into the search field, pick the result that says "Numbers -- Applications".

What version of iTunes are you using? An .itl file is something that Windows uses, or very old versions of iTunes on Mac. The library file on Macs is now .xml and has been since late iTunes 4.
Is iTunes running ok without any problems after you OK that message? If it is, then you may be able to ignore it if you can't account for why you're getting it. But make sure you take backups in case something happens in the future.

I have had the same problem with firefox on facebook. It has happened for the last couple weeks. I can receive gifts under requests and every game I try crashes. I can usually read my homepage. this is getting really bad. I have cleared caches,downloaded what I am told to download to update, and cleared history and cookies and still happens , and have been told to get rid of firefox. what is the problem? and when I sent reports , nothing. and sent emails to all the games and told them and asked for help and never get responses. should I through the computer out the window, or delete you? What was the exact error message you received? When you removed and re-installed iTunes, did you use the precise instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process?

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you!
