Virus Message from a web site

Greetings,
This evening I went to the Huffington Post web site and got this error message,
"Warning!!! Your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presence.
Your system requires immediate anti viruses check! Antivirus 360 will perform a quick and free scanning of your PC for viruses and malicious programs."
I copied and pasted the message then I clicked the cancel button. I restarted my computer. Should I be worried?

Don't worry, it's a scan as QTKirk said. There are no known Mac virus. They are trying to sell you anti-virus software.

Tecnically yes. This is because SMS is basically handled just like an email address, ie; [email protected]
There are services out there that will charge you either flat rate or per message to send them for you as you would need to know what server that number is on. If you want to have people select what carrier that number is on, you just create a mail form with a dropdown with a list of carriers that then set the domain variable in the TO address field. You have to plan that the user doesn't know what carrier that phone number is on, thus where the pay-for sites come in handy.

I am getting browser needs updating from various web sites since getting 10.0 update.sites are taking forever to load.I have to click stop then reload to get them to work.

I have had web site page loading problems since I started beta Firefox.I took the update from beta 9 to 10.0 and since then I am getting a message from various web sites that my browser needs to be updated for site to work with links to all browser update pages including Firefox.Sony premium services support is one of the pages I got the update needed notice.

Virus removed from NI FTP site

We have verified that for a short time between Wednesday afternoon, January
10 and Friday morning, January 12, a number of files on our FTP site were
infected with a virus. We have since corrected the problem and have taken
steps to prevent this problem from happening in the future. We are currently
contacting the individual users who may have been affected.

ITs not a problem per se. The Finder dosent support FTP upload/modification. You will need to use and FTP client for full functionality. Some recommends:
Fetch
CyberDuck
Transmit
You can also always use the command line client. in terminal use the the command
ftp open siteaddress
where site address is the IP or domain name of the ftp site.

Message from Apple Web Centre

On 30 May 10.00pm (AET) when I open the Safari, suddenly it came up a message from Apple Web Centre and ask me to delete some files because they got inflection or virus. I didn't do it. Is someone got the same request?

Do not do anything with that - it is NOT from Apple. It is a scam and a trojan. Get rid of the window. Do not download anything. If it downloads itself, check your computer and delete it. And read these:

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?

Error while creating sites on entire site collection - the file you are attempting to save or retrieved has been blocked from this web site by server administrator

Hi,
I am trying to create a new sub site. Everytime I try to create the site I get this error:
the file you are attempting to save or retrieved has been blocked from this web site by server administrator
This applies to almost all site templates except the "blank site" template. I am logged in as System Administrator.

Issue resolved!
Don't know how but somehow, xml was added to the Blocked file types. Removing the entry did the trick.

How to copy and paste text from a web site viewed in Chrome using the Xperia z3v?

I have searched high and low for a way to copy and paste text from a web site in Chrome using the Xperia z3v. I've tried a long tap, a double tap, a triple tap - nothing works. I am able to select text, copy and paste it in a Word doc, however. There must be some way to do this on a web site in Chrome. I'm certain I am not trying to select text that is really an image. First, epub has nothing to do with size, it is a file format that is popularly used for ebooks, but ebooks published in epub file formats vary greatly in file size.
It will depend on where you buy it. Many books are DRM locked (Digital Rights Management, a software lock). If so, in order to load it into another companies reader or reader software, you need to use something like Adobe Digital Editions to "authorize" the book on the device. Apple's iBook software does not work with ADE.
If the book was DRM free, you should be able to read it in any ereader or ereader program that supports epub format.
If the book is DRM locked to B&N, Amazon, Kobo or whichever seller you shopped from, then the simples thing is to download their free app for the iPad (they all make one, in fact they all make free apps for iPad, Android, Mac OS X and Windows).
So the short answer is yes, you should be able to read any epub ebook file on an iPad, although not necessarily in iBook.

B&N - get the Nook reader app
Kobo - get the Kobo reader app
non-DRM epubs can be read in iBook, Nook, Kobo, or Google Play

You will need to access that PDF on your computer first, before you can print it — unless that PDF is corrupted, which occasionally happens. Your printer needs to be configured and working.
Default PDF web-browser plug-in in Safari, latest (Firefox/Chrome) also built-in.
Click on the remote PDF link to open in browser
On Mavericks, you will need to click through security challenges for the PDF
File menu > Print
Right-click on remote PDF file and then choose Download Linked File As...Open that file in /Applications/Preview.appFile > print

With PDF imaged in browser, either select print icon from the plug-in toolbar, or mouse over the bottom one inch of displayed document and you will see a printer icon in the popup toolbar. Use that.

Pointless and not
worth the effort. Or worse!
the obfuscation JavaScript will get the site to not be
listed in any search
engines because they can't "see" the page or any links on it.
You would be
"protecting" the images but no one would find them.
And all of those obfuscation JS things can be reverse
engineered. In most
cases- it's not worth it to prove it can be broken other than
to prove it
can be done. The images are nothing special in almost any
site using one of
those $29.95 applications.
Have you done the basics? Turned off directory browsing or
put a default
index page in every folder? A few years ago i ran across a
site with one of
those block right click scripts on it. Dumb curiosity- opened
a picture, and
looked around the directory. All open directories. A block
right click
script and every folder on the site was open.

Nuff said. The blocking script made me curious enough to poke
around the
directories.
