Virus on an iPad

I have an iPad 2 received an email which had a virus since then my I pad has gone wrong can anyone help please?

iPads currently can not be affected by any known viruses. As such its unlikely whatever you got affected the iPad.
Your best bet is to perform a reset and see if that clears the issue.
Hold down on the Home and Power/Sleep buttons at the same time until the Apple Logo Shows up.  This will reboto the iPad, no data should be lost.

  • I have a virus on my iPad that sends out bogus emails to everyone in my contact list. I don't know where it came from (email, apps not from iTunes, etc) but it sits somewhere on my iPad. Does anyone know of a scanning app that will find and eliminate it?

I have a virus on my iPad that sends out bogus emails (no subj and an URL that goes nowhere) to everyone in my contact list. I don't know how it got on my machine (email, non-iTunes apps, etc.) Does any one know of a scanning app that can find this virus and eliminate it? I have an iPad version 3 (WIFI) with 6.0.2 IOS. This scanner should be capable of running on my iPhone as well -- just in case it made it to to my other IOS machine. Thanks for your help! Steve

The chances that it's a virus on your iPad or iPhone is very slim. Who is your mail provider? it's far more likely that your address has been spoofed and it's your mail service that has been compromised not your iDevice. I know my Yahoo mail was hacked and people in my address book received spam mails that I didn't send.
have you changed the address on your e-mail account?

  • ? virus in my IPad

There was a message on my Facebook acct about free IPhones. Of course I DID NOT click on it but now I cannot access the internet without this messages freezing my access. Is this a virus I can get rid of?  I have warned other FB uses to not even click the message column as that all I did, to see other messages. Help please. Would syncing to my IMac reset it or would it pass it on?

There aren't any viruses for the iPad.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I had a pop up which turned out to be a malware virus on my iPad how do I get rid of it

I had a pop up which turned out to be a malware virus on my iPad how do I get rid of it

I didn't know you could even get one with an iPad.  Are you sure it installed something?  I see them pop up for my computer occasionally but they will pop up for any computer whether or not they can actually do anything or not.
I'll let more experienced heads answer this one but they will certainly want to know the name of what it was you saw, unless it really is a case of nothing to worry about.

Recently I received a RCMP UKASH virus on my iPad mini. How do I get rid of the virus? Also will it affect anyone else's mobile devices?

Your iPad cannot get a virus, so there is nothing to clear or clean up. Read this discussion and while it has nothing to do with the iPad, see Thomas Reed's response at the end of the thread.

  • Is there a virus protector for ipad

EEveryone tells me u do not need a virus protector on iPad?

They are correct. The sandbox design where apps are keep seperate make virus protection unnecessary.

  • Is there a virus scan for ipad

Is there a virus scan for ipad

As of now there are no known viruses for the iOS operating system. So you should be relatively safe and there's no need for anti virus software.
YOu still need to practice safe intrernetting. Don't click on random links in e-mails, don't enter your personal data into sites you don't know, etc. You can still receive phishing mails and the such.
But the nature of the iOS makes it very virus resistant (with the caveat as long as you don't jail break it, if you jail break it then it's no different from other devices and you're on your own there)

MFG Daniel

MFG Daniel

  • I seem to have a virus in my iPad email.  Provider has shut me out until it is fixed.  How do I fix it?

I use my iPad exclusively for email.  How can I resolve a virus on the iPad.  Internet provider says an Apple product should not have a virus, but it seems to.
    Can anyone help me?

There's one possibility. If you are forwarding emails that contain attachments like photos, videos, documents, etc. These emails may have a virus or malware embedded in the attachments, especially if the email came from a person using a PC.
Do the bounceback messages contain attachments.
Do the bouceback message emails you get from Mediacom say why they are being bounced?
FYI - Even if the attachments contain a virus, they will not infect an iOS device or a Mac computer.
     Cheers, Tom

How do I Remove a Trojan virus on my Ipad 2?Help!

If you got a pop up message telling you that you have a virus then it's a scam. As of now, there is no known virus for the iPad and those pop up messages are just scammy ads trying to sell you stuff you don't need.

  • Virus on the iPad through PDF files?

I heard on abc news about a virus on iPads and iPods.  What is apple doing about this?

There are no viruses on the iPad. There is a PDF bug that Apple is currently working on fixing.
It is very, very unlikely that anyone would be able to write a virus, distribute it, and that you would encounter it in the wild before Apple releases a patch. It took the virus-writers ten years to write a simple trojan horse for MacOS X.
