Virus Scanning in iSupplier and iSoucing Module

There are a number of pages in iSupplier and iSoucing Module where supplier a upload documents. For Security purposes system should check Virus Scanning.
(As iRec Module have this functionality).
Is any one idea about this. How to enable Virus Scanning during document Upload for iSupplier and iSoucing Module .

You can use virus scanning but you need to exclude extensions and folders of lync as exist in blow link

I found some soluation also. They shared a one document. i did the changes but still same problem.
Scan Profile setup
Transaction SM34 -> VSCAN_PROFILE_VC
Transaction /IWFND/VIRUS_SCAN
Set the Zprofile to the default
The Table /IWFND/C_CONFIG should have the entry
Please suggest . i have internal system and we dont have virus server. I am confused.

Virus Scan on File Attachments

Hi,
I have added the file upload/download capability to a OAF page using AttachmentTable component. Everything works fine, I am able to upload/download files. But, I have to scan the documents for any viruses before uploading them. Could you please give some pointers on how can I do it?

Virus scanning is happening for iRecruitement Module if Semanatic antivirus server is installed(This required to buy sementic licence.)
iRec code use this oracle.apps.per.irc.common.VirusCheck file for scanning document (Uploaded by OAF pages).
After enabling this setup and using VirusCheck class you can enable Virus Scanning for your custom code.
We have also tried other options like finding any JAVA or PLSQL API and or any free tool but did n't get success in this way.

Itunes stops McAfee Virus Scan

I have isolated a file in Itunes and it is stopping my virus scan from proceeding and locks up my brower (actually locks up my entire system). I am using McAfee Virus Scan, have updated it as required.
The file that seems to be stopping the process is:
c:/program files\itunes.resources\fr.lproj\Placards.nib\objects.xib
If I let the virus scan run, it functions until it gets to this file then everything just comes to a standstill.
I have even run the online McAfee Virus Scan and it too gets to this file and stalls and the system is locked up.
Anyone have any idea?

Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

P30 shuts down when running virus scan and other apps

I've got a Satellite P30-110. Lately it has started to shutdown without warning and power off. When I start it back up again it loads normally without a scandisk.
It first started when I was using FAST via crossover cable. It would shutdown shortly after starting to gather the files. Then it started happening when I tried to run a virus scan using McAfee VirusScan 9. Now it also happens when I try to encode video.
I have tried doing all of the above after starting in Safe Mode, running msconfig and disabling all startup items and normally. Still I get the exact same result.
I have not installed any new hardware or software. I have updated my BIOS to v1.3. My notebook is plugged in when this happens. I have enough HD space. I just don't have a clue as to whats happening!! Please help!

Hi there, The simplest way is to use a vacuum cleaner hose on the fan grills as described in an earlier post. However, if ther is a lot of dust and debris stuck in the heat sink then it may be necessary to remove the heat sink first. This can be done by removing the cover on the bottom of the notepad (adjacent to the fan grilles), and then remove the screws holding the heat sink in place.
Note that the heat sink will be attached with contact paste to help the heat dispersal. Please don't forget to power off the PC first, and also make sure that there is sufficient contact paste when refitting the hest sink.

My phone is not jailbroken. I don't know what you mean about hacked. Maybe it is hacked? This is what is happening: About three times over the past few months I've noticed that my phone while "off" will come on (light up) and the screen shows an arrow towards the bottom; an arrow such that you would see on various "players" in order to "play" video or audio, I've searched my phone and cannot find any app that produces this particular screen though. Once I pick up the phone when this screen myseriously appears out of nowhere and press anything, it goes away and goes to the standard "slider" front page to unlock the phone.

I run without a Virus Smasher Program. If I am going to download something I run Housecall. Also I do not use Outlook or Outlook Express for email so I do not get those types of attacks.

Contrary to what Geeks on Hugs is telling you, Mac OS X does indeed have a basic malware scanner. It is not a feature that is directly accessible to the user, and works a bit differently than every other malware scanner out there. Gatekeeper, which has been mentioned here, is entirely separate, and provides a different method for helping to protect you against malware.
The anti-malware scanner in Mac OS X is called XProtect. When you download an application (or any other kind of executable code), it is automatically "quarantined," so that when you open it you're asked if you really want to do that. I'm sure you're very familiar with this aspect of Mac OS X if you have ever downloaded any apps from outside the App Store. What you don't know, though, is that each time you try to open a new app, that app is checked by XProtect. If it is identified as malware, you will not be allowed to open it, and will be warned that it's malware.
At this time, there is no known malware that can infect a properly up-to-date Mac. All current malware will be blocked by one or more methods.

Virus scanning in SAP - yes or no? and why?

I'm performing an investigating regarding virus scanning for SAP environments. Question is: is there significant risk of getting harmed by viruses and malware? I'm making a list of risks and mitigating controls that can be (have been) implemented, but it's difficult to support a pro- or con-statement with hard figures and statistics.
Just some thoughts about the subject:
There have been incidents where SAP/Linux environments were infected with a virus. With the strict governance model that is generally implemented on Production it is not likely to happen there. There are a lot of firewalls between our SAP systems and the intra- and internet; virus scanners are running on all front-ends, email and file servers, it is not possible to install something on our production system without very quickly being detected and very difficult to bypass the change process due to authorization setup, etc, etc. But then: how strict is the governance on sandbox, development & QA environments? It doesn't have to start on Production to affect Production.
Then maybe a crucial question: why someone would want to attack servers? What could someone gain from infecting systems and what attack is then likely to be the most successfull? If you want to damage a brand or if you want to steal information, then social engineering gives a lot more chance of success. Accidental viruses that just happen to end up in our global network are quite likely to be captured by either virus scanners on front-ends and email and file servers.
Looking at the costs of implementing the virus scanning: they will be high: interfaces should be installed on all SAP systems, extra processing power is required to prevent performance degradation and then people should monitor the results of the logging of the virus scanner. Does the cost of implementation weigh up to the risk that should be mitigated?
What are your thoughts? Is virus scanning on SAP required? And why?

Our SAP servers run on Windows OS. The virus risk is therefore higher than on Unix servers.
The security policy in my company says that it is mandatory to have an antivirus always active on each Windows server.
In 10 years of SAP usage, we never had a virus problem (each workstation is protected by antivirus) but we had several times serious problems due to the antivirus and specially because of "on access scan".
Performance wise, we also found out that a SAP Netweaver J2EE system is twice slower to startup with on access antivirus scan activated. We speak about 20 minutes against 10 minutes...
My personal opinion (which I cannot apply) is that we should keep the antivirus on the SAP servers but deactivate on access scan and just program a periodic scan each weekend just to be safe.
At least we were able to negotiate a list of exceptions for on access scans where we put the database files : this is very important for I/O performance.

(I have ClamXav set to scan incoming emails, but nothing else.)

I can't open firefox - I've tried restarting the computer several times - I'm using Microsoft Essentials and this has happened since the last virus scan.

The last virus scan brought up no problems. I can't find anything in Essentials that suggests Firefox is being blocked but I've tried opening it by clicking and right clicking but no luck. I found a suggestion on Firefox support that said I should create a new profile but I can't find the relevant exe -p program despite doing a full Search. This problem is on my desktop which is using XP (I'm sending this from my laptop where there is no problem - and I'm also using Essentials on this.) Hope someone can help as all my links are now gone.
