VIs for Agilent Signalgenerator 5181A?

Hello,
did someone ever found VIs for the Agilent 5181A signalgenerator?
There is no driver on the homepage or here in the library.
Any ideas where to get one?
Thank you very much for your help

Looks like you will have to write what you need. Here is a link to the manuals.

  • VIs for Agilent 33250A (function generator) and SR-844 (lock-in)

I am new to Labview. I was unable to find VIs for Agilent 33250A (function generator) and SR-844 (lock-in). Can someone help me find these?
    Solved!

What did you actually search for? I just went to the Instrument Driver Network, entered '33250A', found it's driver, entered '844', and also found it's driver. I did not try this from the Tools menu in LabVIEW but it should also have found them.

  • Where can I find example LabVIEW VIs for the NI-USRP?

There are several sources of example LabVIEW VIs for the NI USRP:
We have established a NI Community "NI USRP Example LabVIEW VIs" where you can find example VIs from us (NI) and the community.
The NI-USRP driver installs a variety of example VIs to the to the following folder on your PC:
    <LabVIEW Installation path>\examples\instr\niUSRP
where you should replace <LabVIEW Installation path> with the root folder of your local LabVIEW installation. For instance, my Windows 7 32-bit PC here has LabVIEW 2011 installed and the examples can be found here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\examples\instr\niUSRP
I've installed the NI-USRP driver, but I can't seem to find the new examples in the LabVIEW Example Finder. Where are the example LabVIEW VIs installed by the NI-USRP driver?
Although the NI-USRP driver does indeed install examples, the current NI-USRP 1.1 release does not update the LabVIEW Example Finder with entries for these examples. To find the examples, you can navigate the Windows Start Menu to the following location:
    Start Menu\Programs\National Instruments\NI-USRP\Examples
This Start Menu entry includes several Shortcuts that point to folders that are the home to example VIs.

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
    Hope this helps.

  • Looking for LabView 6i GPIB-USB-A driver for Agilent E7401A

I am looking for LabView 6i GPIB-USA-A driver for Agilent E7401A EMC ANALYZER.

    Hi,
There is a driver for this device available for downloading from the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network. Here is a link to the download page:
    Multi-Environment Certified IVI Instrument Driver
Unfortunately, however, this driver is only available for 7.0 and 7.1. Unless someone else on this message board has created one for 6i, you will need to create your own.
The other option is to upgrade to LabVIEW 7.1, which I highly recommend. There are many improvements over LabVIEW 6, including Express VIs, Event Structures, and many others. You can see the new funtionality of LabVIEW 7.1 with a free online demo version at this link
    Try LabVIEW 7.1 FREE Online
If you are interested in upgrading, you can call your National Instruments Technical Sales Representative at (888) 280-7645. Have a great day, and good luck with your driver search.

  • Vi for Agilent E4446A HPE4406

Hi; I am trying to write a Labview vi for a spectrum analyser from Agilent (E4446A), which I have only for a few days. The resources of Agilent didn't help.
Is there perhaps someone who could help me? Someone who perhaps used the same who has already written up .vis for this analyser. The only thing I would need to do is to have access to the center frequency, videa averaging and the read out of the trace.
    Any help would be great.
    B.
I did download plug and play drivers for HPE4406 which should work with the Agilent (E4446A). And with a lot of help from Ni these were translated to labview vi's, but in the end it doesn't work...

    Hi,
Although I haven't worked with this device, I was looking through the E4446A web site. I noticed that this instrument offers the PSA Series Option 266 - HP 8566/68B Programming Code Compatibility, which would allow you to use the programming commands of the older model spectrum analyzers.
You can find a LabVIEW Plug and Play Agilent Technologies 8566B LabVIEW Plug and Play Instrument Driver instrument driver. This driver is made completely in LabVIEW, so it should be easy to analyze.
Hope this alternative helps or at least provides more ideas.

  • Drivers for Agilent 6811B

     Hello
I need a drivers for Agilent 6811B AC source/ Power Analyzer, but I using a LabVIEW 7.1 and I only find a drivers for LV 8 or higher at http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=493228DD99AA697EE0440003BA7CCD...
Does this drivers exists and anybody knows how to find it?
     Thanks!

     Hi Tomasz
I can see that you have asked this question also on www.labview.pl (polish forum) - http://www.labview.pl/ForumsPro/viewtopic/t=2328.html
The answer you got there is correct, but if someone needs this information for the future, I'll translate it into english:
If they're not on the website, you can do 2 things:
    - open the 8.0 and save them for previous version. With some luck they'll be working fine. If not, then you can use those drivers as a sample how to write your own drivers, since they are using generic VISA drivers
    - download CVI drivers, create a dll and call it in LV
Let me know if it works

  • How do I use the VIs for the Fluke Hydra Series 2620a multimeter?

This message refers to the VIs found at this link:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9468659CE034080020E74861
How do I use the VIs for the Fluke Hydra Series 2620a multimeter? I am conducting a Senior Design Project at Temple University. It is a Control System where I need to read voltages from sensors and output voltages to different system components. I am trying to set up a VI using the VIs found above to make sure that I can successfully read and send voltages. There was no documentation given with the 2620a VIs.

Unfortunately, you've got a very old driver for an old instrument. The only available help is to turn on Context Help and move your mouse over the VI icon. It doesn't appear to have any help for individual controls and indicators. The only good news is that it appears to be a simple instrument with only a few functions. There's some main ones line initialize (to set serial port), configure channel, configure instr, and read values. One main thing is whether you're using gpib or serial, Each front panel has a setting. If it's gpib, set the port to the gpib address. If it's serial, set the port to one number less than the com port you're connected to. For example, if you're using Com1, set the port to 0. For the other controls, I'm afraid that you're going to have to try and compare what's there with the controls and settings of the actual instrument. Having access to the instrument manual will be essential. I would engourage you to experiment a little. There's probably very little chance of damaging the instrument especially if nothing is hooked up to it. Send a command and see what happens or set the instrument up manually and see if you can reproduce that via remote control.

  • Labview VIs for HP 35670A

The link to the labview VIs for the HP 35670A is no longer valid and the search for the same returns nothing.  Does anyone have the Labview VIs for that instrument?
The last post was back in 2004(see below)
The instrument driver for the HP 35670A is only
supported under LabVIEW 6 and 7. You should upgrade to the latest
version of LabVIEW in order to use the HP 35670A driver or any of the
newer drivers that we release in the future.
    The instrument
driver for the HP 35670A can be found on our web site at

Why don't you go to the Instrument Driver Network? I don't know what kind of search you did but the driver is certainly still available and can be found by using the search option there.

  • Class VIs for access to private Data: reentrant or not?

I just created in a class some VIs for access to private data (my German translation). I'm talking about these VIs, which enable you to connect your class object to a property node to read or write private class data. These VIs are by default non-reentrant. My question is: what happens, if I try to access two objects of the same class with these property nodes? Does the second object have to wait for the first one to be read? If yes, can I circumvent this by making these VIs reentrant?

In theory yes. In pratice it will depend on what you are doing in the private method and the methods it calls.

  • Example VIs for winsock with LabVIEW 7.0

Are there any example VIs for TCP communications with winsock using LabVIEW 7.0?

I would like to join the request - I would like to know how to use WinSock from within LabVIEW to use a modem to dial a number and connect to another PC with a modem. An extra complicaiton is the fact that I need to be able to vary the number (to access numerous data acquisition stations).

  • VIs for using UNIX pipes?

We're going to start working on an application that will eventually run on
a UNIX machine, but in the meantime we'll develop on NT, which is what we're
familiar with. One requirement is to communicate with another process through
a UNIX pipe. Are there VIs built into the UNIX versions of LabVIEW for this?
Or do we just use file I/O VIs? Or is there some other way to accomplish
    this?
If there are VIs built in, where is the documentation? I checked the LabVIEW
manuals, but I didn't find anything.

Yes there are VIs for named pipes in UNIX, Open, Close, Read, and Write
They are under the communication palette. Check the online manual in the comm
    section.

  • LabVIEW Interface VIs for SolidWorks/COSMOSMotion

    Dear Sir/Madam
I am using softwares Labview 7.1, SolidWorks 2005, Cosmos Motion 2005 and LabVIEW Interface VIs for SolidWorks/COSMOSMotion. I try to solving my project entitled “Tracking of a Two Link Robot”. We give a point which includes X and Y as its coordinate system. To do so, robot will move to this point. However I have a problem to solve my project. Considering to Example(PID Example.vi from http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3402). that including one degree of freedom. I wish to solve a project with two degrees of freedom. I attached an image of my project in JPG formatting. Could you please let me have a solved problem in same case or helping me in this way?
Thank you so much for your attention.

  • Error 7 during assemble test Vis for runtime distribution

I get this error when assembling VIs for Runtime Dist. Probably can't find a file but which Vi is the problem? I tried to open diagram for TestStand - Call Package VIs for Distribution.vi to find the problem vi but it is password protected.
    Attachments:
    ts_error7.bmp ‏1678 KB

The code was written in LV 6i and I mass compiled it using LV 7. I was able to assemble for distribution in TS 2.0 but I received an runtime error (VI not executable). I figured that since this code was saved as an llb with vi.lib included I had to remove the vi.lib VIs and reload th source in LV 7.0. I deleted a needed control when I did this and that was what was missing. I included the missing control and was able to assemble my VIs for runtime distribution. One question remains... During a mass compile shouldn't the vi.lib VIs be replaced by the newer versions?

  • Looking for Labview driver for Agilent 4294A (HP)

    Help!
I've been browsing the driver database looking for the Labview GPIB driver
    for Agilent(formerly HP) 4294A Gain-Phase Analyzer.
Does anyone know where I can get it?

    Hello all,
NI is interested in developing LabVIEW and CVI drivers for the Agilent 4294A. I have been trying to obtain one of these units on loan from Agilent for the past couple of years with no success. If anyone can spare their 4294A for the duration of driver development or can influence Agilent to loan a 4294A, NI will write certified CVI and LabVIEW drivers for it.
