Visa error unless logged in as admin
I'm installing a LV program on several computers running Win7. It uses VISA to communicate with three separate instruments. If I'm logged in as admin everything runs perfectly but when anyone without admin rights logs in I keep getting VISA error "resources not found". This seems to be the two serial ports on a card, COM1 which is the on board port is working. I installed this on an identical computer yesterday and did not have this problem.
Solved!
Go to Solution.
When you are logged in as the other user, what do the serial ports show up as in Device Manager? What do they look like in MAX?
I wonder if there is a setting, possibly some sort of Windows Group Policy that is locking out serial ports for non-admins.
Is this a real serial port (with DB9 connector) or is this a USB-RS-232 converter which gives a virtual com port? Perhaps if group policy is to disable USB ports for non-admins, it is blocking the converter from working. Just speculating.

GETTING ERRORS IN LOGS IN WORKFLOW ADMIN
Hi All,
can any one tell me why do we get UNEXPECTED_OA_EXCEPTION, in the log when ever certain client creates a PO and the level shown as 6-unexpectedHi,
Could you please have a share about what KB you moved?
From the posted message, it seems to be this VMWindow.exe is not working well.
VMWindow.exe is the executable that is used for the standard “work with the virtual machine desktop” experience. If you just start this executable by itself it will open the “Virtual Machines” folder. See: Windows
Virtual PC Executables
To have it a quick fix, please take a try to reinstall Windows Virtual PC(uninstall via View installed updates Windows Virtual PC (KB958559), restart and then download/install from
here), then mount the Windows XP VHD file,
Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) in Windows Virtual PC.

Edited by: user8815661 on 3 mai 2010 04:18Sounds like there is some sort of ddb file corruption. There are many causes, but the quickest fix I have found is usually a file-based deletion of the ddb file on both the source and target side of this partition. The attempt to create a partition on this database will cause a new ddb file to be created. Of course, this is dangerous. You can't have any other partitions on either the source or target side...or they will be deleted by this step. But the only purpose of the ddb file is for partition definitions, and it exists on both source and target.
I've found this happens if one side of a partition (one of the ddbs from source or target) gets the file deleted, or communication is down between the source database server and target database server. -
Problem logging in to admin account on Apex 3.1
I have just upgraded to Apex 3.1 and I'm getting an error when logging on as admin.
After I click log in I get:
Line: 35
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
Line 35 is : "<td colspan="1" rowspan="1" align="left"><input type="button" value="Login" id="P10_LOGIN" onclick="doSubmit('LOGIN_BUTTON');" /></td></tr>"
In fact there is an error on the page as soon as I open the admin log in screen.
I suspect that there is something missing from the images folder.Did you remember to run the apxldimg.sql script if you're using 11g or XE?
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/post_inst.htm#BHAJIGDA
Or copy the image folder if you're using the HTTP server?
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/post_inst.htm#CHDFJBFB
That's where the javascript files would come from. -
Report printing failure when not logged on as admin
Using Business object XI, I have a VB 2005 .NET app that works fine when logged on with admin privileges, but fails otherwise. I've investigated and traced this down a single line of code which is the rep.PrintOut function.
The debug error report is shown at the end of this message.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this issue? Is it just a permissions problem and if so what permissions are required?
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for the feedback. Since this appears to be a permissions issue there's one other thing to check. When the merge modules are installed there's often an option to install for "me" or for "everyone." Make sure the files are being deployed for everyone.
Here are links to some RDC and .NET documents as well as the Statement of Direction for the RDC. I'm not sure if you'll actually be able to pull them up though. Some documents require a login for the Service Market Place in order to view them. Hopefully these will work without logging in.

Hi guys,
Im having some troubles with the Log Viewer tool.
Im monitoring my XI development through three files: defaultTrace.trc, applications.log and xi.log, Im reading these files using the Visual Administrator Tool -> Cluster -> Server -> Services -> LogViewer. Everything was working fine, but suddenly when I tried to reopen a file, the tool was not being able to display any file at all. The error message thrown is:

I tried to solve this problem by restarting the LogViewer service but it didnt work. Then, I restarted the J2EE Server with the transaction SMICM, open again the Visual Administrator and check the logs with the LogViewer and was working again, but after some time I was getting the same error again.
Any idea of how to solve this?
Cheers,
MauricioHi All,
I had same issue trying to edit sat.trc file, I fixed this problem by manual editing sat.trc file and modified the following line:
<!FORMATTER[com.sap.tc.logging.perf.PerfFormatter]/>
change to:
<!FORMATTER[com.sap.tc.logging.ListFormatter]/>
after changes you will able to open file with Visaul Admin Log Viewer or standalone logviewer.
Hope it helps.

I just updated an existing slide show that was created several months back. Since loading my new set of files to our web server, we keep getting the following error in our server log files when someone loads our page in IE8 and IE9:
File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:
One of our programmers tracked the error to this line of code, but we're not sure what's causing it:
Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn('#slideshowu70', function(elem) { new WebPro.Widget.ContentSlideShow(elem, {autoPlay:true,displayInterval:6000,slideLinkStopsSlideShow:false,transitionStyle:'horizo ntal',lightboxEnabled_runtime:false,shuffle:false}); });/* #slideshowu70 */
Any suggestions?
Thanks! The errors aren't showing up on the client side, only in the server access logs. Every time the page is loaded with IE8 or IE9 and the Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn with the #slideshowu70 line is hit, it generates four errors in the server access logs.
Our admin guy pulled the errors from where it was clicked on from the Adobe forum. He said it also appeared that you tested it with www added to the url (if this was when you were testing it)...
[Mon Feb 04 13:58:57 2013] [error] [client 121.242.198.2] File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:http://stingrayboats.com/

The reason we find it strange is because it did not result in errors with the previous version of the slideshow. The only thing that changed this time around is that I removed some slides and added additional ones, but I noticed that there is a lot of difference in the code and even the scripts that are used. And I did copy over all of the scripts, css files, etc., so it's using all of the new source files.
I was hoping it was something that you guys had noticed if you review the access logs when you're testing. While it works perfectly on the client side, the IT guys do go through our access logs, so it would be nice to eliminate the errors.
Thanks for looking at it! -

Annoying failures and reminders when not logged in as admin
how can i stop apple software update (asu) from constantly bugging me when i'm not logged in as an admin?
i like the automatic check (noone likes updating everything manually) but every apple program fails to install unless you're an admin. it would be much better if asu checked before it looked for updates, or let people know there are updates but they cannot be installed unless they are logged in as admin.
what's worse is if it downloads an update and the install fails because you're not an admin, asu downloads the whole file again when you do log in as admin. these files should be cached in a temporary folder in asu's 'program files' folder until the install is successful or a newer version is available.freakin' awesome! of course, i never saw that scheduled task because it only shows when logged in as an admin, and apple is the only program i have that has its schedule there rather than in its own interface.
now that i have seen this it seems stupid that so many programs don't have their updates scheduled there.
i have not tested it as such but i have a task in my limited account that only runs when i'm logged on so i know that this will work. i also changed the schedule from a set time weekly to ‘at logon’ so it will actually get a chance to run.
edit by online?:
the scheduled task sets asu to run in the SYSTEM account but then asu seems to launch the installers with the locally logged on user's credentials, so this fixed my problem but not the underlying cause. -

I can't login from the desktop app - "Login error. Please contact the Admin."
1) Does anyone have the same problem as described below?
2) Does anyone know how to fix it?
When I try to "work online" from the desktop app, I get asked to log out of offline, then log into online. When I put in my username and password, it gives me the error "Login error. Please contact the Admin." I've clicked the link "Trouble logging in?" and followed instructions to reset my password, which I successfully reset to a new one. I still get the error.
I have a subscription to Adobe Story Plus and am working offline/online using the desktop app. I haven't logged in to sync my documents in about a month. My account is in good standing (paid 2 weeks ago according to my account transactions screen). I'm now trying to collaborate, so it's important that I be able to sync.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JohnHi Rohit,
Thanks for your response. I've resolved the problem myself, and you may be
interested to know how in case it happens again with another user - I
thought maybe it was a versioning discrepancy and I was right (I assume).
However, I couldn't update my desktop software (or I couldn't figure out
how to update it) until I rebooted my machine, then Story went into an
auto-update sequence.
After it updated, it logged in and sync'd just fine. Classic "help"
question where the answer basically was: reboot. I shouldn't tried that
before I posted!
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
John

MDT 2012 - Application Bundle Install Issues- Logged in as Admin randomly between reboots
Hi Everyone,
We are on MDT 2012 / WDS... Moving to SCCM soon but not soon enough.
A new problem started in our environment and I'm not sure if it's a networking, storage, or wds server / settings issue.
The OS deployment happens completely fine, but during the application install phase (Application Bundle) if the application requires a reboot sometimes the deployment does not continue with the rest of the applications, will just stop the process and be
logged in as administrator.
I've checked the normal deployment logs - bdd.log and there is no errors, it shows the last app install but then just drops off. Almost like the machine is not reconnecting to the deployment share to continue installations after the reboot.
This is very random and does not happen on the same app or just one machine model, it's almost like a networking hiccup or something else. The apps exist on the deployment share which is on a 2008 VM with Nas storage.
Any help is appreciated, other logs to look at or if anyone else has seen similar etc...
Thank You!Thanks for the help guys, I believe I'm all set now. Basically removed the reboot from the problematic app and put the app at the end of the app bundle.
This one was strange... It was the App-V client which I originally did not have a reboot and was the very first app installed in the bundle. With no reboot, I noticed some machines installed the app-v client then would skip all the other apps and move on
to the next phase, which is why I added a reboot.
After adding the reboot I started seeing the problem I posted above logged in as admin. So ultimately removed the reboot and added it as the last app, which seems to be working.
Thanks Again. -
Error when logging into account
I'm getting an error when trying to log in to my account.
I had 3 hard drives in my Mac and removed 2 of them and wiped/installed into another computer.
I still have the hard drive with OSX on it installed, but when I try to log into my account it says there is an error. I'm able to log into the Admin account, but not the one I used regularly.
I would like to recover some files I had on the desktop. Any way to do this? While logged on as Admin, I go to OSX/Applications > Users > Brent > Desktop > Get Info > Permissions for Shared are Read/Write. All selections within the Brent folder have a red circle next to them - If I try to access them, it says the folder can't be opened because I don't have sufficient access privileges.

Hi Team,
I need some inputs and help.
We are using CRM ISA 6.0 SP06. We are using the webshop functionality.
We currently analyze the errors in the webshop via the session logs which we have configured.
Now, when we have done the same setup for shop admin, we are unable to see any session logs.
Session logs for shop admin are not working. Session logs for webshop works and we are able to view the same.
We have already done the below settings in http://host:port/shopadmin/admin

appinfo:True
logfiledownload:True and restart of the J2EE engine.
We get the below error when we check for the logs:
