Visa usb driver problem

I have a usb controller that I want to communicate with labview....I have successfully made usb raw driver using driver development wizard...and it is running good in my pc in which NI labview is installed....now i want to run a labview application in a pc in which no labview(nothing related to NI) is installed ... so I copied the visa usb driver to that pc.....after connecting device and installing the driver it says cannot install driver completely...I have tried this with 2 pcs...so I was wondering apart from visa usb driver....is there something to install in a pc which is not having labview so that  it can communicate with pc ?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I have already installed the runtime engine, but that comes later...first it should be there at the device manager list but it has error symbol on my device...I think unless this driver is not properly installed device will not be recognised by labview application..

  • [SOLVED!] On USB drives, problems with non-English chars and HAL

    Hello,
I am having a problem with non-English caracters (áãàçéẽê...) on files stored on my USB drive.
On Windows they're created with the correct name. But on Linux the files have the non-English characteres replaced by '?' and are not accessible.
If I manuallly mount the drives using 'mount -o iocharset=utf8 /dev/sdb1 /media/usbdisk' the characters are OK, so I think I just need to get HAL to pass the correct parameters to mount. However I don't know how to do that, and haven't found any good solution.
I tried to build a custom kernel setting the default charset as UTF-8 and it didn't work.
Any ideas? I'm using x86-64, HAL 0.5.13-3 and my locale is pt-BR.UTF-8.
    Thanks!
EDIT: Actually, this is not a HAL problem, but a problem with 'exo'. For the solution, I edited /etc/xdg/xfce4/mount.rc and added iocharset=utf8 to the [vfat] category.

I don't use Thunar presently, but I looked in the Thunar Volume Manager doc and I didn't find anything to change the mount options of removable drives. I am not quite sure if it's possible or not. Maybe someone using it can tell for sure.
But if it is not possible to change the mount options, a possible solution is to disable the Thunar Volume Manager plugin and to use something else more configurable to manage the automount function.
Personally I use the halevt package from AUR which uses configuration files in the xml format.
It's not so easy to use but is highly configurable.
But there exists other tools also.
I can help you with halevt if you choose that way...

  • USB Drives - Problem with Recovery Manager

I bought a Kingston DataTraveler 112 16GB thumb drive so I could copy the recovery image as a backup. It recognized the thumb drive and showed that the recovery image was a little over 11GB. But when it started to format the USB, it returned to the previous screen and no longer showed the drive there. At the bottom of the screen it said to contact HP Support but it didn't give me an error message. Now when I try the recovery manager it won't recognize the USB at all.
Prior to that I had purchased another 16GB USB--don't remember which brand. I have 5 other USB drives, but they're all smaller, except a 32GB Kingston DT101 G2 which does not work on this computer, although it worked on my previous computer (Pavilion w/Vista Home Premium) with no problem. All these USBs, including the new Kingston are for USB 2.0.
OS is Windows 8.1 64 bit on HP Pavilion 500-A60 desktop. I've tried the problem USB drives in all 4 ports (2.0 and 3.0). Also in the one I plug into a port to give me 3 USB ports, also used on my prior computer.
Is it possible that this computer doesn't recognize Kingston or certain other brands of USB thumb drives?
    This question was solved.

The trick to this is to use a USB 2.0 port and to use a non-Windows 8 certified thumbdrive. If the USB flash drive shows as a "removable device" then there should be no issue in using the media to create recovery media
I have had great success with a Transcend USB 3.0 16-GB flash disk.
I own a couple of DataTraveler flash disks and had the same lack of success creating recovery media that you did. I have also had zero success with Sandisk Extreme usb 3.0 flash disks

  • USB Drive Problems

I have been having a weird problem recently. For some reason my iMac (Mountain Lion) refuses to read USB flash drives, however if I restart the computer it starts working normal again until it stops working again.
It is getting really annoying to have to reboot the computer everytime I want to use a flash drive.
    Any ideas?

    Hello constellar,
I am unfamiliar with what the term Factory Mode means for USB drives.
IF you are refering to the USB drive being locked into a Read Only state (cannot write files to it), there is a program to fix that. Go to...
    http://www.pny.com.tw/index.php?cls=2&mode=download
This fixes HP usb drives (actually made by PNY) that have the Read Only problem.
The USB Flash Driver Format Tool (Ufix-II) is to be reported as the most successful fix of the two downloads.
You may need to have 7-Zip installed to extract the .rar file. It is a free download.
Your going to extract "RecoverTool_V2.00.42_M1223 8CE.exe" from the downloaded file and run.
If this is not what you are asking for, could you give a description of what is happening?
Also give a model number of the USB drive and what Operating System you are using.

  • PC USB Drive Problems

I have an external Maxtor USB Drive 250 Gb formatted as NTFS with apart from other things pictures and mp3 files on it. They are in a folder called media. That folder is about 40 Gb. Every other folder except this folder appears in the Finder folder list.
When I jump into the OS X console (unix command line) I get the same folder list running a ls command. The media folder is still missing. However when I run a cd media command I can jump into the folder and see the files.
I would appreciate any help to explain why I can't see my media folder and access those files.
If I copy about 4 GB of files to my USB thumb drive I can grab all my media files, so I worked around the problem it, but want to know if this is a bug in OS X's 10.4.9 OS or a know limitation. Is the NTFS read only file system fully supported? (large folders, file sizes etc)
    Thanks,
    Mark

This may happen, but not as a result of switching between Mac and PC.
There are two possible symptoms: the USB drive becomes completely unusable (can't even format it), or the drive becomes tempermental (only works on one machine, develops errors).
The first-case is generally the result of rough-handling or static discharge causing damage to the device. All you can do about it is try to be nicer to your drives.
The second case can occur as the result of three things: 1) you are reaching the write-limit for the device (you can only write each byte on the device so many times before it fails) -- which is unlikely because the things are typically rated for 10,000 writes or more; or 2) the drive is consistently yanked out of the machine without unmounting the filesystem (on the Mac, by "ejecting" the disk or on the PC, by using the little applet in the system tray and selecting "unplug device" AND waiting for confirmation that it is safe to remove); or 3) using a drive that was initially improperly formatted.
It turns out number 3 used to burn Linux users quite a bit. It turned out that certain vendors shipped their USB sticks with a messed up Windows filesystem on them. On Windows machines they would usually work (though Win2K would sometimes have strange issues), but Linux and OS X machines could get confused. The fix was as easy as reformatting the stick before you used it (of course, the vendor, despite receiving many complaints, never acknowledged the problem).

  • [SOLVED] Encrypted root on USB drive problem

    Hi,
I have encrypted root on external USB harddrive. On one machine it works just fine, LUKS ask for password and system starts.
On second it does not work. I tryed nearly all possible combinations of modules and hooks. I can also access my usb drive if I use break=y. I am using current kernel & utils, I definitely use right paths...
Machine is an Dell with Intel chipset. My USB drive is like this:
      /dev/sdb1 - big fat32
/dev/sdb2 - ext2 boot with Grub, kernel and initrd image
/dev/sdb3 - root fs, reiserfs encrypted with LUKS
I made little debuging and it seems that encrypt hook was launched, but did not make anything. Before I digg deeper I wonder that someone had same problem, or can give me advice.
    Kernel panic screenshot:
PS: how can I put busybox to initrd image? echo * sucks.
    Thanks
    Last edited by Trained.Monkey (2007-10-10 09:42:13)

I solved, problem is that encrypt is running BEFORE usb drive is fully initialized. Encrypted partition is not found and not used.
    Solotion:
put sleep 5 at beggining of encrypt hook. You must also add sleep binary at installer.

  • Obscure Nano and Mini XP USB Driver Problem Finally Solved

I had a rather obscure USB driver registry problem that few others would probably have, but this might be helpful.
I was unable to get Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition to properly recognize either my iPod Mini or Nano 3rd generation. The iPods would be seen by XP in Device Manager (would show Apple iPod USB Driver) when connected, but would immediately disconnect. The Apple iPod USB Driver properties would then show “This device cannot start (Code 10).”
I first tried all the Apple-recommended fixes: the five Rs; reinstalling the Apple iPod USB driver; disconnecting all other USB devices; switching USB plug-in points; putting the iPod into Drive Mode; and all the other things shown in the troubleshooting guide “iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes,” http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
None of the above worked. And on occasion after uninstalling and reinstalling the iPod USB driver, I would get a blue screen with the error message “driverirql_not_less_orequal,” sometimes followed by stop codes and something called “USBPORT.SYS.”
Apple phone support was unable to help, claiming that XP Media Center Edition was not supported, though the problem appeared to have no relation to MCE versus Home or Pro.
Then I finally stumbled onto the solution. I previously had installed a USB drive encryption program (NTINinja) on my computer. Although I had uninstalled the program months earlier, it had left a registry entry which was interfering with the iPods. When I deleted the registry entry, the problem was solved.
Those of you having similar recognition problems as described above might check Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus Controllers, USB Root Hub, Properties, Details, then select Class Lower Filters in the drop-down box. If there is an entry, that might be the problem.
To get rid of the entry, first write down what it is. Then go to Start, Run, Regedit. Backup the registry (File, Export). Then go to Edit, Find, and type in the suspect entry. It should find the registry key containing the entry in HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\.
Right click on the LowerFilters key and select Modify. Then delete the suspect entry. Close the registry editor. You might have to reboot – can’t remember.
I can’t guarantee the above is completely accurate, but it may help someone.

OK now! Dag, I was going crazy. I had two brand new Raptors and was trying to hook them up in a RAID 0 config. I am no dummy. It would hang at detecting arrays. I could not figure it out for the life of me. I will not talk about all of the combos that I tried. My buddy told me to try datalifeguard from WD. I did. Well, one HD showed no serial number in the extended test. An error message popped up. Said the drive was not working. So, Newegg sends me a dead drive and wastes days and days out of my life. I hooked up the one good drive just now. What do I see? For the first time in my life, I am seeing the raid bios! This almost cost me a divorce. Seriously though, the wife would come in and rub my shoulders like a fighter after a few hours of getting my azz whipped by this new rig. I am now going to make the floppy with the newer drivers like was done here. Just incase. I am in Raid bios now in the other room. Time to go set up XP on one drive for now. I refuse to wait for the RMA'ed second Raptor.

  • 10.5.2 lockup and USB drive problems

My install of the update went fine. However, I've had a few of problems since the upgrade.
Once, I couldn't eject a thumb drive. Applications began locking up until I pulled the drive without ejecting it. I also had a time where I couldn't eject my iPod until I rebooted the system.
My recent problem was that the screen saver locked up while importing an iMovie HD project into iMovie 08. I haven't had that since I installed the firmware update on my iMac. I had to power cycle it.
Just a few flaky problems but they seem to be getting worse.
    Anybody else with these issues?

Maybe your update didn't go as well as you think. Did you repair your hard drive and permissions before updating? If not you may have updated a somewhat corrupted system that is now even more akilter. I suggest giving that a try:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • URG-04lx USB driver problem

Hello sorry if the topic is seems a bit not related, but later i will need to connect to Labview, so this step is really essential to me.
First of all,i want to ask did anyone use the Hokuyo urg-04lx laser range finder? The case is that the company is giving me the download link for the usb driver installation, however it was came out as .inf file, so i cant install or register to the computer. http://www.hokuyo-aut.jp/02sensor/07scanner/download/index.html
Another matter is that the Hokuyo urg-04lx i was intended to connect are not detected by laptop at the very instance, for giving example, the USB keyboard and USB mouse will be able to install driver for itself and later the computer will allow to communicate with them. However in this case the Urg-04lx is not giving any synpton as above. I was advice that i should install the USB driver for the Hokuyo urg-04lx first before i continue for the USB connection, however i was unable to install as i stated above.
I wish for anyone who could help me or any advice regarding this product. I am current using window 7 64 bit. Any advice is much appreciated, and if the topic is not related please notify me so i will shift to the recommended category.
    Really thank you!!! =)

Your problem isn't related to any NI hardware or software. If you have a problem installing the inf file, then you really need to contact the vendor with details on what happens when you attempt the install. The readme says the inf file is compatible with windows 7 so you need to be a bit more specific about your comment about 'cant install or register to the computer'. Pretty pointless for anyone here to try to duplicate the problem unless they have the same device.

  • The "Unable to install Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" problem

Ever since I installed iTunes 10, I've had nothing but problems. I tried every fix I could find on the internet, unfortunately there are not too many, Apple's own website has loads of fixes but they never work.
I keep getting the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver come up in Device Manager with a little yellow exclamation mark and nothing I seem to do can fix it properly. I managed to fix it once, my iPod was synced and all was good, but once I restarted my PC, the problems started again. And I tried my friends iPhone which works perfectly and the same problem came up on my PC.
Cant someone give me a proper fix please?

I had the same problem with my iTouch when I upgraded to iTunes 10. I'm not sure if my problem was the same as with the nano but every time I reinstalled iTunes and plugged in my Touch, I got an error message for driver installation and the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager with a little yellow exclamation mark. The error message that came up stated something about the digital signature of the driver not being right. The fix that worked for me was as follows:
Delete the 2 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver files. If you right click on the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager and select properties it will tell you where they are located in the windows folder. My 2 files for windows 7 64 bit were:
    usbaapl64.sys
    usbaaplrc.dll
With ipod disconnected, restart computer and press F8 to enter boot menu.
Select boot option without digital driver signature support.
After boot, connect ipod and driver should automatically install correctly without error.
    Good Luck
I called Apple and they would not provide any unpaid support for iTunes issues.

  • How do i fix the "Unable to install Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" problem access denied

My new iphone 5c will not work with my laptop.  The apple mobile usb driver will not install.  'Access denied' is the final message in the diaolgue box of the device load error.  The device is recognized but there is the yellow triangle with the exclamation point on it indicating an error installing.   I've removed itunes and its components as directed step by step ..... twice.....  I've disabled antivirus, firewalls, and even created a second admin profile in hopes that it would load the driver.   Nothing is working.  The apple person was supposed to call me back after we were on the phone 90 minutes.  Well.... I guess she did not.  Help!!!  I would love to sync my phone.  Any ideas?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Bootcamp Win7 USB Driver problem

I cant install Windows 7 64 bit on Late 2012 iMac using BCA. Everything works well until Windows setup starts. Installation stops because of USB driver is not found. USB driver on disc seems to be incompatible. Have tried to manually install the drivers but no difference. What can I Do?

    Hello Loner T,
it is an 8GB stick USB 2.0. However, the setup starts nomal but stops and asks for the Windows driver for USB. If I start the search for also incompatible drivers about 10 of them appear but non is accepted. So Setup is stopped at this Point.
I am not sure if the devices build into the imac are different and so require a different Driver.

  • PowerBook G4 external USB drive problem

    I've got a 12" Powerbook G4.
All of the following operations were performed with the laptop plugged into the power adapter.
Today I connected a Bytecc external USB drive model 7050 containing a Maxtor 6 L060J3 60 GB and started backing up my main drive and moving some movie projects to it.
I initialized the drive using the Disk Utility.
I used Finder to copy almost 55 GB of data to the initialized drive.
I attemped to use the 'eject' icon in finder to disconnect the drive so that I could remove power and move some things around my desk. The drive did not 'eject'.
I disconnected the USB cable from the G4 and got the warning message from OSX.
I powered down the drive and moved things around then attempted to reconnect the USB drive.
I repeatedly got a "Volume not found" error with the correct name of the drive. The drive still appeard in the finder pane.
I attempted to verify and repair the disk using the Disk Utility, which still recognized the disk, but was still getting the "Volume not found" error when I attemtped to access the drive using Finder.
I used the disk utility to verify and repair the G4 system disk, at which time the USB drive dissapeared from the Finder window.
Now, attempts to reconnect the drive, do not show the drive as present in the Finder window, yet:
    - when I disconnect the drive, I get a warning about stopping a device
    - the drive still appears in the list of drives in the disk utlity app.
Any ideas on how I can get this drive to work again? I spent a lot of time dumping video into iMovie from my digital camcorder and I'd like to avoid reformatting the drive.
P.S. What is the correct way to shutdown and remove an external drive?
    Thanks,
    Larry Ice
    12" Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The proper way to shut down and remove the drive is to unmount it (drag it to the trash) and then power down the drive before you unplug the usb cable. If the eject icon didn't work you should have tried dragging to the trash. If that didn't work go to Disk Utility and unmount from there. if that didn't work try Repairing the drive from Disk Utility. I would not have pulled the usb cable as you did.

  • Nano with windows USB Driver problem?

Everything worked fine with my nano for a few days.
I've gone through all the troubleshooting tips for the nano itself. (3 Rs, etc).
Latest,I have deleted the USB device and reboot the computer. Windows recognizes new hardware found and tries to install the driver for it.
    I get the following error:
Error: The initialization failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance.
Seem to me to be a problem with the Ipod Nano software since windows is recognizing it. I have used other usb devices with this port in the past though I am not using any with it currently.

Taking it back for an exchange is probably your best bet then, but there is one more thing you might try first. Some people have found that by putting the iPod in disk mode, it keeps the USB port alive and lets it charge. It doesn't sound quite like your situation, but it migh be worth a try. Or, you could even take it to a different computer and plug it in there for three or four hours to see if it will take a charge. You don't need iTunes on that computer. But if those don't work, then the exchange is probably your best bet at this point.
