Visible images won't print

My source InDesign document can print them fine, they look good in the PDF, then won't print. Any help will be appreciated. I'm stumped.

Hold on there, Eugene. Printers today output in the range of 600 - 1200 DPI, but tend to use screen frequencies in the range of 100 LPI which means an image resolution at print size in the 150 to 200 PPI range is usually adequate.

I'm curious how this looks on screen with overprint preview turned on. Also, what version of ID are you using, and what formats are the images used?
And expensive printers, especially from Xerox, are not immune to some quirks.

Word 2010 document with images won't print to HPLJ5550 printers

It prints fine on black and white printers (HP 4250). It's a 25-page document with images on almost every page. The file size in Explorer shows the document is 3.2mb. The printer queue window shows its 2.27mb/415 mb.
I've tried to figure this out.
I sent the same document to four different HPLJ5550 printers. All the same problem.
I sent it to other printer models and it works fine.
I sent it from different computers. Same results.
I turned off background printing. I disabled advanced printing. I PDF'd it and it still wouldn't print.
The issue is that we are moving to Office 2010 in May and I am responsible for training everyone. But, I can't print my training materials on 90% of our printers (HPLJ5550). Gack. What will this be like when we have all our employees trying to print and documents won't print.
This has happened with other Word 2010 documents too. I thought it may have been the fonts in the styles. So I changed the styles to use Times New Roman and Arial. Didn't help.
I made new styles, not based on any other style, and used TNR and Arial. Didn't help.
I save the file back to Word 2003. Didn't help.
I can, however, print the file fine on the one Dell 5100 color printer we have. But, that's not going to work when we have 700 users trying to print to their HPLJ5550 printers (the company default printer for all our locations).
I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Right now I have had to go back to using Word 2003 to create the training documents for Word 2010 classes - totally not acceptable.Ugh.

I am using BB ZZ10, and my laptop has Kaspersky Anti Virus installed in Windows 7, as mentioned in the forum, i have stopped my AV, and installed the PrintToGo and still it is not working.
I get a small window asking for my blackberry ID and Password, once i enter it correctly it give a error message, stating that cannot connect to internet or DNS not found when all other browser pages are able to connect.
if i enter wrong password it shows password wrong and then asks for correct password, only if i give correct password it shows the error message which is a typical Internet explorer error message.

HELP! Images won't print properly!

I am trying to print an InDesign CS4 document but when I convert it to a pdf and print it some of the images have lines through them and are half transparent. The rest are fine. I did not create this document so I am unsure of what process the individual photographs have gone through. I have checked preflight and it says no errors and has a green button.
I cannot print directly from InDesign CS4 as it gives an error message on the printer..."can't create PictWPSDoc from `/private/var/spool/cups/d00062-001'.ERROR during execution of pictwpsto".
Ideally I would like to solve both these issues but to be able to print the document either way would be great!
Any help is much appreciated as I am getting desperate!

Image won't print on pdf form.

I copied an image (jpeg) onto my pdf form. When I print the form the image doesn't print. The handles around the image are blue instead of black. Can I somehow embed this image onto the form?

I would suggest re-regestering the NI-Reports DLL by:
Start » Run, then type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\shared\NI-Reports\NiReports.dll". If this does not help, please provide more information on you version of LabVIEW, operating system, and if the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW work correctly.

Image won't print at the designated size

I have the following:
CS4 (brand new)
Windows 7 (64 bit)
New HP office jet 8500 wireless
Problem: I complete an image. Image size is set to 8.5 x 11. Print preview shows image filling paper. Image is set to print at 100%.
When I press PRINT, I get a paper with a tiny image in the top left corner. Image size which prints is (I just measured) 2 7/8 x 3 5/8 inches.
I'm hoping there is something very simple I'm not doing. Again IMAGE SIZE is set to 8.5 x 11 inches. When I click PRINT, I am choosing to print at 100%. I get a tiny image on paper.
This happens no matter what I print. 8x10 photos appear tiny in the upper left.
Any suggestions? THANKS for any and all help.
NOTE: All other programs work correctly as far as printing goes. Just photoshop does this.

@wine snob - HP console looks fine, all settings are good
@qener7 - "scale to fit" isn't checked because 8 x 10 image fills most of the paper. The preview looks like an 8x10 printing on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper.
@Paulo - In the image size window, it's set to 8 x 10 inches, 300 dpi., in the PRINT dialogue box, the preview looks perfect--an 8 x 10 printing on an 8.5 x 11 paper.
I've played with it more today, still prints tiny image in upper left corner. No matter which large image I try to print. I've been using CS for years, no problems. Now with this brand new computer, brand new printer and CS4, I'm having trouble.
Images from Corel Painter print fine, as well as from Power Point, word, etc. Just Photoshop is a problem. Ugh. Getting frustrated.

Align=right tag causes image to not print

I inserted an image at the beginning of a paragraph. Then, I
manually added the align=right parameter to the <img src>
tag. However, now my image won't print when I generate my printed
documentation layout.

Printer Won't Print Certain Images

I just got my new HP Envy 114 printer this week and have only now gotten to setting it up. While it took some time to set up the wireless and web services, all of the networking issues were eventually resolved. My current problem is that, whenever I have the device print out a web document, there are certain key images it doesn't print. I know this isn't an ink level issue, as both black and color levels are near full. I was wondering if there might be any print settings, or settings on my browser, that might prevent said images from being printed. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Which browser are you using ? Can you see images on the Print Preview screen ? Depening on your setup in your browser, background images won't come out.

Yes, the printer is on, it’s selected in Printer Set-Up & I’ve never had this problem before. It’s definitely a Photoshop issue as every other type of file prints fine. I’ve uninstalled Pshop & am now reinstalling. Hope that will do the trick.

PDF layers not visible & won't print

I have a PDF that was sent to me that is comprised of 2 layers. When I open the PDF in 9.0 Pro, both layers flash on the screen momentarily and then Layer1 disappears and only Layer2 is visible. If I turn off visibility of Layer2, Layer1 appears. If I turn on visibility of Layer2, Layer1 disappers.
Then, when I try to print, only Layer2 will print. I have to configure Layer2 to "never print" in order to get Layer1 to print. I have tried to "merge" layers, but that doesn't seem to work. I have tried to "flatten" layers, but Acrobat just seems to freeze.
Only when I click on Advanced > Print Production > Output Preview and have the "Simulate Overprinting" checked does the PDF appear as it should. However, it won't print that way. Any ideas on how to get BOTH layers visible at the same time AND able to print?

After posting I kept researching and found the following:
If a PDF has been created with overprinting you must do two things to get the PDF to display properly and print.
Enable Overprint Preview: Edit > Preferences > Page Display - Change "Use Overprint Preview" to "Always". This will force the PDF to show everything. You can turn the feature back off later if you wish.
Enable Overprint Printing: File > Print - Click on Advanced button - Click on "Output" - Place a check in the box "Simulate Overprinting". The PDF should print as it displays on the screen.

Firefox won't print 'highlights' made by a marking tool on a form. I have enabled 'Print backgrounds' options and the yellow image overlays print fine in other browsers. Is this a setting within windows 7?

Officejet Pro 8620 won't print the "full pasted image"contained in a Word 2007 document

Just upgraded and installed for Officejet Pro 8620. Running with Windows 7, 64bitWhen printing a page that includes a image that was copy/ paste, using the snipping tool into the word document, it does not print the "full image". In print Preview the full image appears, but when it prints about 15% of the bottom edge and the right edge of the image is omitted. This was not a problem when printing from the Office jet 8600. It is not a problem of page width or length because text is printing just fine.We removed all prior printing software, and re-installed the new printing software, disabled the printer firewall, and problem still occurs.Please advise what other information is needed. Photosmart 7550 suddenly won't print anything but scanned images?

I've had this printer for a while and have had zero problems with it, and I don't think there's one now. More likely a setting I can't find. I just scanned a bunch of stuff that printed up just fine, but text documents, (I use Open Office) and PDF docs will not. I've tested this out and haven't been able to discover what I've done wrong. I can print anything that I've scanned (scanned docs are displayed by Windows Photo Gallery), but no ODT (Open Office) or PDF (Adobe Acrobat). Won't print from e-mail, either. It was all working fine the last time I printed any ODT or PDF, but it has been a couple of months for those, though I was printing e-mails as recently as last week. Also, when I send the command to print, I see the status bar spooling the pages to print, but the printer never reacts. Then when I double click the printer icon in the toolbar, the printer status window that opens shows "printing", but then suddenly it says "deleting" and it disappears and there are no jobs pending.
I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit. Drivers are up-to-date.
Can anyone help?

Image Class 7470 printer won't power up

My Image Class 7470mf printer will not power up. Is there a power reset or is there a serice manual available (online preferred) where I can troubleshoot this problem?

Hazinpa, HP printers go to sleep if the printer is not active for more than 30minutes and however if the wireless radio button is ON and your network is installed fine then when you give the print command the printer automatically comes out of sleep mode to print.

I have an HP Photosmart All-in-One C7280 series printer/fax/copier/scanner. I have been having issues with printing for the past few weeks. It is a wireless printer, with a jack into the wall (for fax) and it is plugged into a power source. I never used to have issues with it before, but recently, it won't print when I send a document to it to print. It will print its configuration pages, reports, etc if I select them from the Printer's menu but not when I send a doc to it to print. First it was saying it was offline, but I figured out how to override that by operating as an administrator and selecting "Use Printer Online" from the dropdown menu when I right clicked on the printer from the control panel. But now it says "Error: Printer failed to print document. System error".
Noooo clue what to do now. This is the only color printer we have so we kind of need it to work. We bought this printer off the shelf at a office store (before I started working here) and so we don't have any designated technichians to work on it. I asked the guy who services our Image Runner Copier to look at it but he had no clue what was wrong with it. Hopefully someone can help?

HP8600 won't print from new HP Envy PC Windows 8.1 PC - only local users

I have an existing HP 8600 all-in-one printer this was never any problem on a homegroup network with my Windows 7 HP Pavillion destop PC and other portables. I have just upgraded to a HP Envy Desktop PC, but it has come with Windows 8.1 (Ouch!). I use this PC to run a home business and apart from having a connection to internet land I want nothing at all to do with have a Windows 'live' account on the new Envy. The Admin account that I have set up is a local one. I can't therefore download any application from the 'store' and neither do I want to.
In the absence of anything from the 'store' and as it wouldn't set-up automatically I have downloaded the original HP 8600 application and installed that.
The various office applications 'see' the HP8600 as existing and ready to print to - identified as HP Officejust Pro 8600 (Network) in the list of printers. However they won't print to it (the print jobs fail) and when I try Printer setup and software from the HP8600 software installed as noted above in the Ultities section it says that it is unable to retreive the computers network name when I enter the printer's IP address when required.
So much for plug 'n' play. Though the printer is connected the network wirelessly LOL. Given that this is HP trying to talk to HP and failing I am baffled - please can someone help.
NB. In camparison he old ancient HP1150 laser hard wired to the PC isn't batting an eyelid and is printing fine from first plug in with no changes!! I need the HP8600 to function wirelessly though as everyone uses it.

I read your posts about print jobs failing from your Windows 8.1 system, and wanted to reply to you with some of my suggestions.
First run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. I also would like you to check the Network Info you see in the image below, make sure VPN Connection says "No". Try printing again afterwards.
Next, try a Clean Boot, restart the PC, and try a print from Notepad and elsewhere if you wish. Go back into the clean boot instructions and enable the start up programs afterwards. I am curious to know if there is something running on your Windows 8.1 system that is blocking the printer from communicating with the printer. This step will let us know.
Let me know the results
