Downloading the Visio 2013 trial
I have been trying to download the Visio 2013 trial. On Mozilla browser it gets to 43% and then the page automatically closes. It has done this about 5 times thus far. One would think Microsoft would make it easy to try such an expensive software
so that people will buy it. But rather, they make it impossible to download.update:

Visio 2013 trial, problems to install the .img file
As soon as I download the trial for visio 2013 it automotically downloads an .img file. How do I either get an .exe file or the .img file to run? I would like to install the programm, thats all.
Its the 64 bit versionI also have no option to mount an .img file, so there are 2 problems:
1) This process doesn't work because we can't mount it, and
2) Clearly, some software that performs the mounting is missing from the System Requirements.
Please answer how to do #1, and fix #2 on the MSDN pages.
Hi @thrillride, for your issue relating to MSDN, are you referring to this?:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa948864.aspx
Perhaps part of the difficulty is that various products, are "packaged" in differing ways (some are offered as EXE, some as ISO, some as IMG).
Also, different versions/editions of Windows, offer different disc-image-handling options as built-in features.
So it's not straightforward to have a one-size-fits-all guide for this topic.
The information on the linked MSDN page is somewhat adequate for most situations, but, a certain familiarity with the topic is assumed, and maybe it's that assumption which is unreasonable.
Since MS don't develop/offer/sell disc image software, MS are cautious when and how advising customers to select and use such software. (except for the builtin-in features).
There is a very wide range of software available to perform the "burning" or "virtual drive/mount" function, and MS do list some suggestions on the above-linked page. There is no need to wrestle with "mounting", if you choose
to "burn" the disc image to a recordable CD or DVD.
Some other popular choices include MagicISO, VirtualCloneDrive, WinCDEmu.
Also note that the software product itself (in this case, Visio) has no requirement for any such software. It's the delivery-vehicle that has the requirement, and, I agree that a bit more useful information about the "packaging and delivery vehicle"
is needed.
You can raise this with the MSDN Feedback forum, since it's not related to the Visio product itself, but how it is offered via the MSDN channel.

Visio 2013 Trial Won't Install
I was able to burn the software to a disk with no problems. When I attempt to install, I get an error message "Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous Office 2013 trials being installed.
System error: -1073422314." The install process never asked me to enter a product key. I am running 32bit and downloaded the 32 bit version. I am also running Office 2010, except Outlook is the 2007 version. Thanks for any suggestions.Hi,
The message “25004” could indicate problems with the trial product key, I think MicroSoft thinks it's been used on this machine, so lets go back and start over again.
Please try to do following steps:
• Get a new trial product key, may need to create a dummy email id to get it.
• Uninstall current trial, use FIX IT from KB290301 and confirm with manual process confirmation msl
• reboot into safe mode (with networking)
• clean TEMP folder
• install new trial (in safe mode) (I don’t know how they did this since in Vista I get message Installer service cannot be starter

Check the options and click Delete according to the following picture, then go to Advanced tab, click Reset. Restart computer then check the issue.

Visio 2013 32-bit trial version will not install even with other 32-bit MS products only.
Trying to load MS Visio 2013 Trial to determine if it works so I can purchase full version.
Environment: MacBook Pro, w/ VMWare Fusion 4, Windows 7, running only MS Project 32-bit on the VMWare side. MS Office is not installed only MS Project.
Downloaded Visio 2013 Trial img file and attempted to install. Received 64-bit conflict with 32-bit software error message. Deleted Visio 2013 64-bit version and redownloaded Visio 2013 Trial img this time in 32-bit. Tried to install but the same 64-bit
conflict message is appearing. As the only software I have installed is MS Project 32-bit it does not appear that there should be a conflict. I have scanned TechNet and Googled to try and understand how to determine and resolve the conflict but
there are no threads to address this specific problem.
P.S. I cannot uninstall and reinstall MS Project as I spent hours on the phone with Microsoft and VMWare Support to get it installed the first time so I don't want to mess with an existing environment that is finally working.
Microsoft online chat recommended calling MS Support and they have now sent me to you. Can you please help?Dear Smith_123:
Thank you for your reply. However, Office had never been previously on the OS as it was never purchased. I do have Office for Mac 2011 but that is 32 bit and is not on the VMWare / Windows side of the machine. But even if I had, I would not know
how to clean up the residual file or registry keys without assistance.
After 1 hours and 20 min on the phone last evening and being handed from person to person through literally 9 different people, I finally reached someone that seemed knowledgeable in MS Support. But all they would give me was a circular answer:
We can't help you because it is a Trial Version for which there is no support offered. When I explained I wanted to be sure Visio worked on my machine prior to spending between $300 and $600 on a copy, Support could only say that I would have to purchase it
first before they would give me any help to see if it works. When I offered to purchase it right then since I had finally gotten to someone who appeared as though they could help, he told me that he was Support and not Sales so I would have to go elsewhere
to purchase the product. Very frustrating. -
I have attempted to download the Visio Professional 2013 free trial, and have not been able to launch it.
I would appreciate any help.

Can not activate Visio 2013 Pro 60 day Trial
Hi
I am trying to activate a trial version of Visio 2013 Pro I downloaded from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/evalcenter/hh973399.aspx but I keep getting the error message show below. The clock on my laptop is correct and I have all the latest Microsoft updates. The activation key I was given before downloading the software
ends in "Y2".
I hope you can help
CESkyBlueHi,
This issue occurs because the trial version can only be installed on one computer. If you have installed it on an other machine, you can't install it on this machine then.
To work around this issue, you should use another Microsoft Account for this installation.

Free trial for Visio 2013 Standard?
Hi,
Is it possible to download a free trial for Visio 2013 Standard version?
I can find the download option for the Visio 2013 Professional version, but as we are likely to need only the Standard version I want to download the trial for this to ensure that it covers all that we will need it for, which I can't check if the only version
available is the Professional trial?
Thanks,
HazelHi,
We had the Visio 2013 Professional trial version only.

Visio Professional 2013 trial - can't save work
I can't save the work I do when using the trial version of Visio Professional 2013 - is it because it is a trial version?
Hi,
Have you tried to repair Visio 2013 from Control Panel > Programs and Features
Does it happen in recent or it began from the day of Visio 2013 installation?
It the former, please think about what's the application/update installed in the recent past days, and try to remove the suspecious one to check if the save function would be recovery.
We may also create a new local user account with Administrator permission and test the behavior in that user profile.

Visio Pro 2013 Trial Download Issue
I downloaded the Visio Pro 2013 trial (posting this here because there's no category for 2013), but cannot get the file to run. From the official Visio page, I clicked "Try", and I was routed to the download page, where it automatically
downloaded an .img file. I cannot figure out how to open the file. When I click on it, my Nero CD Burner program opens. I've never encountered a problem like this. I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS and attempted this download via Chrome. Can anyone
help me figure out how to solve this issue? Thanks!Visio trial download is now available as a exe download for simple installation experience. After download, just double click to install.
Follow the following steps to download the trial version:
Visit
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/
Choose Try Now.
Ensure the details filled up in the form are correct. Now Click Continue.
On the screen your trial key will be displayed along with an option to print it. Select print it and save it for future reference.
Now choose the language of your download and you are good to go. -
Good day!
I have Windows Vista at the moment, so I am unable to install and try Visio 2013. Upgrading Windows at this time is not an option. Is there any way I can obtain an earlier trial version of Visio, the one that works with Vista?
Thank you.
-- AlexHi,
We can download the Visio Premium 2010 via TechNet Evaluation Center:

But, the trial key is not available, please wait for fix.

Hello,
I have been working on this on and off again for the past few days. Still have not been able to crack the nut.
I downloaded the Visio 2013 64-bit trail (VisioProfessional_x64_en-us.img - it's 444MB) from Technet. At first I had issues getting a product key but found some instructions here on how to reset my browser settings and that seemed to work. So I'm square
on the file and the key.
I tried double clicking the file to kick of the installation and I get an error message (Sorry, couldn't mount the file). I found some more helpful suggestions online and have tried
- renaming to .iso -> Double click. That didn't work
- renaming to .exe -> Double click. That didn't work
Do I have to make a disc for this to work? I have two issues if this is the case...
1) I'm on a Surface Pro, so no burner.
2) in one of the two renaming tests above it told me that the file was corrupt. I don't want to waste a disc.
Anyone else having this issue or have any further suggestions?
Thanks! We can not cross install 32-bit editions Office and 64-bit editions Office on the same system.
Here are some available options:
Download the 32-bit edtions Visio 2013 instead;
Remove the 32-bit editions Office 2010, and
reinstall the 64-bit editions;
Create a 64-bit virtual machine (Hyper-V), then install the 64-bit edtions Visio 2013 in the virtual machine;
