Vision box won't come off standby

I was recently sent a new vision box and just lately, it has been getting stuck in standby mode - I can't turn it on with the remote, or the button on the box itself, it just doesn't respond...
I have to turn it off and on again at the mains, then wait for it to go through the restart motions - a bit irritating when I want to watch a particular programme.
Has anyone got any ideas - I haven't asked BT yet...

I had just come on here to post the very same thing.
We joined BT a few weeks ago and this has happened three of four times at least now ... the last time tonight.   I do exactly the same as you ... turn the tv and box off at the mains, turn it on again.  Go all through a green screen and then its fine again.

  • How can I take something  I pasted off my  screen? It won't come off

I was in my calendar trying to add something to a day and I pasted something and this won't come off my screen. I can not delete this thing. I have restarted the computer, logged out and I can't click on my calendar with this "pasted" thing on my computer screen. What can I do?

This "thing" only pops up when I open the Calendar. So It is not in my  Desktop..Then I can't do anything with the calendar with this on the the screen. The only thing I can do is "force Quit" the calendar..I am using the calendar on my Airbook until I figure out what to do with the IMac. I was pasting something on a date in my calendar and that's how this got there. Any other ideas?  thank you Dominic for your answer...Randy

  • My computer has streaks on the screen that won't come off

I just got the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display about a month ago and now on the screen there are streaks all over the screen that won't go away. I have tried using water, glass cleaner, and glasses cleaner wipes but it won't come off. Is this some type of defect or is there some other way to clean it?

  • Weird Coating ... Won't come off 1 day old computer

Hi All. I bought my macbook pro 17 " yesterday. Spent a fortune on it. I used it for the first time this morning and there is this weird coating on the bottom left side. I thought it was from my hands so I tried to wipe it off and it just smears and looks terrible. This was bought new at the Apple Store. I am upset. Is this normal? I will totally take it back to them because I didn't pay this much for an imperfect computer.

Doesn't sound normal, my (15") MBP has no such coating/film that won't come off. Take it back and ask for an exchange if you're not satisfied with it.

    Correct.
To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to either...
    1)  Restore the Device as New...
See Sections 5 and 6 here...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
    OR...
    2)  From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set....

  • Do not disconnect won't come off AFTER ejected

hello, i just bought my ipod yesterday and already i think i have screwed up. i had the ipod connected to my computer last night so it could upload the songs and accidentlally fell asleep so i think the computer fell asleep. anyway, the "do not disconnect" symbol appears and will not come off. i've read several things that gave directions on how to "eject" and "safely remove hardware" and i've done both and restarted my computer, and the symbol still appears. i've tryed resetting it and that doesn't work either. what should i do?
      Windows XP

If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that “do not disconnect” message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select “eject”. There is also an iPod 'eject' icon in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Another way would be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.

  • My I phone won't come off silent keeps saying I got headphones plugged in

When you turn your phone on and off silent at the side I tried turning it on and turn the ringer volume up but it said that I had headphones in so it won't ring or play any media it only plays it I put my head phones in I check to see of it was the speakers by changing my ringtone on settings but it worked and played fine it's just that my problem is it won't come on loud and it says I have headphones plugged in?

Blew down it, short and sharp - being careful not to spit!
Then I think I twisted a corner of tissue paper tightly and wiggled that in the socket then blew again.

  • 13" MacBook Pro Retina back cover won't come off?

I purchased this MacBook Pro Retina on eBay. When I got it, I noticed a screw in the lower left corner is sticking out. So I went online and bought a screwdriver to tighten it up. When I got the screwdriver instead of just tightening the screw down I decided to unscrew all the screws and check out how the inside of the laptop looks. Well after I unscrew all the screws, the cover will not come off. It comes loose on the top where the hinges are but something is holding it down on the bottom? Also this laptop is 8 months old and it only has 19 battery cycles? Maybe the seller replace the battery and they messed something up? What should I do?

    Hi joshmorris31,
Welcome to the Apple Support Community!
I know startup issues can be both frustrating and concerning. In this situation I would suggest the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article to help you isolate and resolve the issue.
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

  • 85 mm 1.2 won't come off 5 d marking

I'm traveling right now and my 85mm 1.2 is stuck on my 5 dii. The lens will spin freely when I push the lens release button but will not come off the body. Was hoping maybe someone might have a hot tip on a easy fix?
    Thanks

Safari 6 is for Lion and Mountain Lion. From Wikipedia:
Safari 6.0 was previously known as Safari 5.2 until Apple announced the change at WWDC 2012. The stable release of Safari 6 coincided with the release of OS X Mountain Lion on July 25, 2012, and is integrated into the OS.[34] As Apple integrated it with Mountain Lion, it is no longer available for download from the Apple website or other sources. Apple released Safari 6 via Software Update for users of OS X Lion. It has not been released for OS X versions prior to Lion or for Windows. Regarding the unavailability of Safari 6 on Windows, Apple has stated "Safari 6 is available for Mountain Lion and Lion. Safari 5 continues to be available for Windows.
Look at the OS version in the top of your crash report. It shows 10.7.5 (Lion).

  • Memory access door won't come off!

I just got a lovely 4GB SDRAM combo and was raring to get it into my iMac when, d'oh, the access door won't unscrew! The screw turns, but hit a kink then keeps on turning without coming out.
Has anyone else had this problem? And hopefully had it resolved.
    hopeful
    chimpboy

    Agreed.
When I changed my memory I was a bit worried when the door did not just pop off after unscrewing. But all was well, i just need to get a thin blade screw driver (or knife) in the seam to pry off the panel. You should be able to do that with no problems.

  • TS1363 my iphone is showing itunes on the screen and it won't come off, resetting it won't work

I cannot get this off of my iphone screen.  I've tried resetting it, powering down but it still shows a picture of the iphone cable going into the Itunes logo.  My phone is now useless.  what can i do?

No, you don't have a virus, but if that folder has a flashing '?', it means your Mac can't find its' system:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1440
    or, other possible causes:

Take a look at those and see if any of those suggestions help.

  • Help I got nail polish in a zedge screen and it won't come off

I tried to clean nail polish of my zedge screen and it wouldn't come any suggestions to remove it?

    Are you talking about Zagg?
In any case anything that will clean off nail polish (acetone) will likely destroy the screen protector or the iPad. Just get a new screen protector installed.
