Vision install

Does anyone know if I can do two node or multi node installation for Vision database ?
We have done single-node installation before, but are not sure if it is configured for multi node.
Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I found the answer by myself. Yes, vision demo can be installed multi node.

  • Tar: Unexpected EOF in archive for Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL

    Hi All,
    System = Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (64 bit)
I downloaded Oracle EBS Vision instance from Oracle eDelivery.
    File Name = Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ova.00
    File Type = Archive
There are 14 others files like the same and they have been successfully extracted. This is the first file out of the 15 total files.
I am unable to extract the above file.
    Steps Performed
    1. Initially, I tried to extract directly. I got the error
    Could not open "Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ova.00"
    Archive Type not supported
    2. Then I renamed the file to "Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ova.00.tar" and tried to do the following
    $ tar xvf Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ova.00.tar
    Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ovf
    Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL-disk1.vmdk
    tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
    tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Now the above two downloaded files Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ovf and Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL-disk1.vmdk are of unknown file type.
Ideally I should have got a file = Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.3-VISION-INSTALL.ova.00 (File Type = Program) like all other 14 files and as per the installation steps that I see in the videos for the installation.
Can anyone help me on this?
    Thanks,
    Niladri

This indicates that the files are corrupted and you will need to re-download the files again.

  • R12 Vision Install

I have 2 Linux servers of 143 GB disk space each. Say server A & server B.
I need to install a Vision instance. so i do staging on server B which may take approx 33GB.
Is it possible to install a multinode vision instance?
Also the install doc says that the Vision DB size occupies around 133GB and also the Batch Processing Services needs to be in the DB node. So will this both fit in node A with the remaining services on node B.

So will this both fit in node A with the remaining services on node B.On Server A, you will have ORACLE_HOME for the 10g R2 Applications database, plus ORACLE_HOME for Application Server 10.1.2, and an ORACLE_HOME for Application Server 10.1.3. You will need to have more than 133 GB since this space is required for Database node file system (Vision Demo database). So, consider having 28 GB more on Server A in addition to the 133 GB.
Please note that running Rapid Install from a stage area requires at least 33 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

  • Partitioning Advice For E-business R12 Vision Install Using OEL6

    Hi,
I am planning to do a fresh install of OEL to use as Oracle R12 test bed with Vision demo database.
Not planning to dual boot. OEL will be the only OS used.
Unfortunately, after spending the past few days I still couldn't determine the optimal partition scheme for my install.
I have a desktop system with the following configuration:
    I5-3570K
    128GB SSD
    750GB HDD
    8GB RAM
I'm relatively new to Linux and as such do not understand much in terms of the partition scheme.
    Awaiting your responses.
    Best Regards.

A SSD drive is not bound to the same physical aspects and performance limitations like a conventional hard disk. However, it's news to me that you cannot or should not partition a SSD drive. Where did you see this information?
You can create a /var and /tmp partition, but I any unnecessary partition will complicate your setup for no good reason. You can also create a swapfile and thereby increase your swap space on demand if necessary, instead of using a fixed swap partition. Why do you think installing a /var and /tmp partition will make any difference for your self-study environment?
Your /boot partition needs to be on the startup drive, e.g. SSD drive. Your root (/) partition can be anywhere else, provided it can be accessed. Why would you use the SSD drive for root and put /var and /tmp on HDD? I can't see how +/- a couple of GB will make any difference on your SSD drive.
If you need advice about the setup of Oracle EBS you better post your question in the appropriate Oracle EBS forum. Regarding the OS and general database configuration, my previous response still applies.

  • Using directshow without vision installed.

    Hi,
I am using Labview 8.5.1 full version. I don't have the vision assistant installed and I am not planning to buy it since it is for a small one time task.
Is there a general directshow dll I can use without having to install the ni_imaq_usb_installer_86.exe that requires NI vision?
Is there a way to find what would be the inputs and outputs of such a dll without documentation? (what I got when installing the SDK of the frame grabber are the attached dll ( the attached TXT file should actually be DLL)).
What I actually need is to acquire a snapshot from a USB frame grabber.
    Thanks

    Hello,
As of Vision Acquisition Software 2009 and beyond, you would not need to have the Vision Development Module as well in order to acquire from a USB camera. A license for Vision Acquisition Software does need to be purchased (the IMAQdx driver specifically), but I imagine it would be well worth the expense if you are looking at spending the time required to program and troubleshoot that yourself. • R12.1.1 Vision installed, no Environment Parameters set

    Hi All,
I just finished installing R12.1.1 Vision on Oracle Linux 5.7. The install finished successfully, and am able to log into the self-service forms ok.
However, I've noticed that none of the environment variables have been set i.e. $ORACLE_HOME.
I'm new to linux, so not sure how to source/run/set these variables from the env files. And to that extent, which env files to be using.
Can someone assit with this? I basically need to know the command to set the environment variables from the env files.
    Cheers,
    Russell H.

    Hi.
I'm going to write up what i am doing, cos i must be doing something wrong.
So, starting with Oracle Linux 5.7 freshly booted up.
    1: Menu: Accessories > Terminal
    in terminal...
    2: "su root"
    3: "rootpassword"
    4: "cd /mnt/oracle/u01/oracle/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl"
    5: "./APPSVIS_oel57.env"
    6: "echo $ORACLE_HOME"
    7: nothing is returned.
Hopefully the above might point out where i am going wrong, or if there is something else amiss.
    Cheers,
    Russell H.

  • Fresh 'out of the box' R12.1.1 vision install on Linux 4

On first connecting to the Apps using Internet Explorer - I get to the login page enter sysadmin/sysadmin, click Login. The browser thinks about it for a second and then returns to the login screen. No errors reported. It just doesn't progress to responsibility selection.
Browser settings are all ok. Indeed, I am able to connect to another R12 system using the same PC/browsers just fine.

  • Error when installing virtual appliance for r12.2.4

    Hello
I have downloaded Oracle Virtual Appliance for Oracle  E-Business r12.2.4 in a following step by step manner but I am running into an error.  As per the readme, I have gone through the Note:1928303.1 but it does not address the issue.
That said, is there any comprehensive, step by step document that outlines installation and implementation of Oracle Virtual Appliance for r12.2.4?
    Below are steps I ran.
Step 1:  Downloaded and Installed Oracle Virtual Box version 4.3.22.
Step 2:  I want to install Oracle EBS r12.2.4 single node installation on My Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop with 1 TB of HDD and 8GB RAM.
Step 3:  Downloaded following files for single node vision appliance.
There are two zip files for each part, so I downloaded total 16 zip files.
    V52470-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 1 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52471-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 2 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52472-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 3 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52473-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 4 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52474-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 5 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52475-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 6 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52476-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 7 of 8) Linux x86-64
    V52477-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 8 of 8) Linux x86-64
    Step 4:  Unzipped these files
Step 5:  After unzip, unzipped filename looked like following.  So I removed the last digit in the extension so that Oracle virtual box can recognize .ova extension.
    Unzipped file name:
    Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.01
    renamed to
    01_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova
Step 6. In Oracle virtual box, attempted to import these ova files using "Import Appliance".   This is when I am getting following error.
Oracle VM Virtual Appliances for Oracle E-Business Suite (Linux)
Failed to import appliance C:\ova\EBS\INSTALLATION OPTIONS\Option 1 Single Node ALL\0_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.
Could not create the imported medium 'C:\Users\ova\VirtualBox VMs\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk'.
VMDK: Compressed image is corrupted 'C:\Users\ova\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk' (VERR_ZIP_CORRUPTED).
    Result Code:  (0x80BB0004)
    Component: Appliance
    Interface: IAppliance {3059cf9e-25c7-4f0b-9fa5-3c42e441670b}
This is happening with each and every file in above list.
Please advise what am I missing?  And if there is a comprehensive document somewhere that outlines details about implementation.  The above mentioned metalink note is not enough.

You need to merge all of the downloaded files first, before importing into Virtualbox. Google for my blog for detailed steps.

  • BT Infinity 20Mbps slower after fixing BT Vision

    Hello
I had BT infinity & BT Vision installed about 3 weeks ago.
Speed estimate said 48Mbps. After install i got a solid 52Mbps which i was very happy with Also had BT vision installed at the same time which i didnt actually use until about 1 week ago.
When i tried using the BT vision the multicast channels - BBC 1 HD etc wouldn't work, it would take 30 - 60 seconds to get a picture. Obviously something was wrong.
I rang BT to after some tests escalated to level 2 support. An engineer turned up a few days later although when he went to test it everything worked perfectly. He said BT probably adjusted settings on their end which fixed it.
I tried a speed test straight away and my speed had dropped from 50 to 30 Mbps. Its been the same since and speaking to BT they don't really care as its within limits.
Would anyone be able to explain the drop in speed?
btw - I'm not talking about while i am watching TV on the vision box then its even slower...
Same with a wired or wireless connection.
Also my stats below seem to be different from others i've seen with the difference between max connection and actual download. Any comments appreciated

I've just noticed the same thing with me.
I have a Draytek router, and its data flow monitor is showing a constant downloading at around 20mbps, whether I'm watching any IP channels on Vision or not. Broadband speed does not go higher than 20Mbps or so.
What is this and why is it happening?

  • Vision missing files in executable

Hi, I am using vision software to do some image analysis. I made a project on one computer and built it into an executable. On the computer where it was created, it works fine, but this program is to be used on another computer. The second computer also has labview and vision installed (same version), but when I try to run the executable, it tells me about 15 of the subvis in IMAQ functions are missing. I figured the installation of vision was corrupted on the computer, but then I opened the main vi (instead of the executable) and it worked fine. So is there any reason that the vi would work on both computers but the executable would only work on one computer?
    Jeff
    Using Labview 7 Express

I decided since I had labview on the 2nd computer and it was the only computer where the program would be run, that I would build it into an executable on that computer (exactly the same way I did on the first computer)...but it still doesnt work. Basically I had
    1)Project on computer A
    2) Built executable of project on computer A
    3) Executable and project both work on computer A
    4) Transferred everything to computer B (that also has labview and vision)
    5) Executable says it is missing files when I attempt to run on computer B
    6) Project runs fine on computer B
    7) I build an executable on computer B from the working project (the same way I did on computer A)
    8) Executable tells me it is missing files.

  • Installing Apache on Fedora 2

During Apache installation on Fedora 2 from Oracle DB10g Companion CD I recieved message : Error in invoking target 'install' of makefile /u01/...../ins_sqlplus.mk.
In error log I have read:
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.3.3/libgcc_s.so: undefined reference to `dl_iterate_phdr@GLIBC_2.2.4'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make: *** [sqlplus] Error 1
    How to solve this problem?

I am trying to Install 11.5.8 on FC2. adlnk806.sh which runs via adrunias.sh , is giving problems. glibc issue. do you have any idea how to get pass thur this phase. I successfully gone thru the RDBMS phase. I am trying single-node (2 user) vision install.
You might try with older versions like Rapidwiz 11.5.18. (2981384). This might be too old. Try one version below yours.
Another reason could be, your binutilitities which provies basic core executables like cc, ar, ld , and make. Actually, you need to find which glibc version that 11i(11.5.10) get supported with. Like 2.1.3, 2.2.X or 2.3.3. Once you know, get the rpm and install. It will be installed under /usr/i386(i686). Then make directory 'saved', under /usr/bin , then move cc, make, ld, ar to 'saved'. Now make a softlink to all those executables that saved under 'saved' to the same executables that you got along with glibc. YOu can verify them under /usr/i386. Names will not be exact, but something like i386-21libc-linux-ld. This way, the compiler or archiving or linker will get the executable from the recommened glibc versions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle apps configuration required to install oracle lite database

    Hi,
Can any one suggest me the oracle apps setups and configuration required for installing the oracle lite databse in my laptop.
The olite databse must sink with my existing oracle apps.
    thanks in advance...

Dear Experts, (I'm far from expert, but I possess enough shreds of knowledge to answer your question, so here goes. ;-) )
    1a)
My server has Oracle version 11.1.0.6.0, but the matrix says it wants 11.1.0.7.
I should get a warning right?
Can I just proceed with the install, over-riding the warning?
    1b)
If so, what is the procedure to install into the existing database?
It wasn't obvious in the (150 page) install docs. The EBS install delivers its own ORACLE_HOME for the database. There isn't an option to install into an existing database as far I know. The installer will ask where to put the new ORACLE_HOME for the EBS database. You might get a warning if you try to install to a pre-existing ORACLE_HOME, and I don't recommend ignoring that warning. The result will either be ugly immediately or, even worse, ugly later when it's harder to figure out why. ;-)
Do an upgrade?Won't really help. The ORACLE_HOME that's bundled with the installer usually comes with additional patches pre-installed, as well as EBS-friendly configuration options. You're much better off taking what it gives you so you can get down to the real fun of learning EBS. :-)
Or, do regular install, but not Express/Rapid Install?I recommend doing a Vision install for learning EBS.
Can I choose not to install the database software?Nope (unless my memory is really that bad), and there's no real benefit to doing so. All you'd save is a couple GB of disk, and as a percentage of the total install footprint of EBS, the database ORACLE_HOME is relatively tiny.

  • New Vision 12.1.1. Unable to login using IE (7 or 8). Firefox 3 & 4 OK

Brand new, fresh 'out of the box' R12.1.1 vision install on Solaris 10. No additional EBS or tech stack patching done (yet!).
Install went OK, no issues at all.
On first connecting to the Apps using Internet Explorer - I get to the login page enter sysadmin/sysadmin, click Login. The browser thinks about it for a second and then returns to the login screen. No errors reported. It just doesn't progress to responsibility selection.
I get this with the following PC's
    Win XP SP3 - IE7
    Win XP SP3 - IE8
    Win 7 SP1 - IE8
Exactly the same procedure (on the same PC's) but using Firefox 3 and 4 - I can login fine. Select responsibilities and get into professional forms.
The Apache logs ($LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/Apache) have nothing but the loading of the pages - no errors reported at all.
I've tried the following so far - nothing has helped
    Bounced Apps
    Bounced DB
    Cleared browser caches
Cleared EBS Cached (Functional Administrator > Core Services > Caching framework) - did this when using Firefox!
Ran AutoCOnfig - completes status 0
Cloned the VIS env to itself
Anyone got any pointers on what to try next / what may be wrong here?
    Thanks
    Des

    Update on this issue
This issue is related to note 420573.1 - Session Error Raised Direct After Login when Using Two-Letter Domain Segments
Being in the UK it's not too uncommon for server names / addresses to end with .uk - I'd go as far as to say it's pretty common place.
Looks like somthing in the way R12 works is not setting the cookie information correctly for an EBS sytsem on a server with .uk at the end of the address.
    This is worked around by;
    Editting 'SpecialDomains' in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0
I added - lp. rg. ku.
This 'fix' has worked fine for my Windows XP/IE7 PC - and allows me to login to R12
The same fix has NOT worked for Windows 7/ IE8.
Weird thing is... on the same server on which we have this new Vision R12 system, we have many 11.5.10.2 environments. They work with or without the registry hack for WinXP or Win7 clients.
The SR with Oracle is still ongoing. They're trying to determin what the difference is between how 11i handles the cookie setting and how R12 does.
If any more progress is made I'll try update this thread.
