Vision m decreased one hour of battery in 4 month

Hi,
I have my vision m now a bit longer than 4 months. On arrival i did a battery check (to check if it was really 4 hours video). I could play a video with 25 minutes 2 times full, needless to say i was very impressed with the vision m. But last week i noticed the battery going down a lot faster! When the vision m is off the change is really noticable! When i fully charge it, 24 hours later is has lost one block and when using it for 0-5 minutes 2 blocks are gone!?So i fully depleted my battery, fully charged it and right after that it did the same test as when i just got the vision m... now my battery only last 3 hours and a bit when watching the same video :s:s?I did not use the vision m that much, let's say 5-0 hours a week and now my batterylife decreased with hours in 4 months ??Is this normal, is there a sulotion ?thank you very much(i buy creative products since soundblaster li've, i've also had a zen micro and a zen sleek and i've been always very pleased but now i'm a bit dissapointed...)??*edit*I just want to note, normally i don't fully decharge my battery because i know this is not that good for a lionbattery... so the one hour decrease is not from constantly fully decharging and charging to maximumMessage Edited by quinten on -2-200606:29 AM

TS's comments are BS. In fact you should fully discharge your battery to calibrate the fuel gauge.
Heat and time are the real enemies of li-ion batteries.
Here are some battery care guidelines from batteryuni'versity.com
Avoid frequent full discharges because this puts additional strain on the battery. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are better for lithium-ion than one deep one. Recharging a partially charged lithium-ion does not cause harm because there is no memory. (In this respect, lithium-ion differs from nickel-based batteries.) Short battery life in a laptop is mainly cause by heat rather than charge / discharge patterns. <
Batteries with fuel gauge (laptops) should be calibrated by applying a deliberate full discharge once every 30 charges. Running the pack down in the equipment does this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate and in some cases cut off the device prematurely. <
Keep the lithium-ion battery cool. Avoid a hot car. For prolonged storage, keep the battery at a 40% charge level. <
battery life is still a contentious issue. there is a very nice thread in the archi'ves somewhere about it. However, people can spew out many theories about how you need to fully discharge your battery or else you will lose part of it, or how you need to partial cycle to avoid complete drainage etc...
remember that batteries don't have a "memory" they are a divided set of charged lithium ions and atoms. The batteries capacity will naturally deteriorate with time
I've always tried to keep some voltage applied across my batteries as this has never done them any harm. It's worth bearing in mind that many other factors including heat and frequency of usage are likely to be greater than any charging routine you have.

  • I do not get 12 hours of battery

    Hello. I just purchased my 13 inch "Early 2014" Macbook Air about 4-5 days ago. I never maxed out at 12 hours as advertised, during the time that I've had this computer.
    It seems to be 9 hours at best. This is still new so I do not have a bunch of weird settings, all of my settings are still the default apple settings except the one that makes the screen/keyboard bright in dim light. I have disabled that to save battery. This is not my first Macbook, so I've done other things like turning off bluetooth and keeping the brightness below half and I only use Safari not Firefox or Chrome because they drain the battery I read.
    Anyways why do I not have 12hours? I've read where even some MBPs have over 12 hours! Here are my specs:
    Macbook Air 13 Inch
    Manufacture Date: June 30 2014
    Max Charge: 7109 mAh, Design capacity: 7150 mAh, 9.2 Watts

    All I usually do is surf the web using Safari. I have Mail app open, and if I'm feeling risky I will launch iTunes or the Twitter app. Also on Safari I'm usually on Facebook, Reddit, message boards and infrequently, YouTube. It's not like I stream content all day, my internet is abysmal to the point I can only watch 144p videos.
    I have no idea why I can't get 12 hours out of this computer, I've tried timing it with my iPhone from the moment I disconnect. I usually end up charging this Macbook Air at least twice a day. I will wake up to a full charge and it will need to be recharged in the afternoon and again before I go to bed. The condition is listed as "Good" so what do I do? Is this like the iPhone where the only way to actually achieve 12 hours is to basically do nothing on it?

    It says:
    The 11-inch model gets up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge and the 13-inch model gets up to 12 hours.
    This means once you reduce your energy usage to a barest minimum, then the battery could last up to 12 hours. But that life goes down with any increase in energy usage.
    However, if you feel there is a problem, then take it back to have it checked out.

    This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.

    hello everyone my macbookpro runtime decreased suddenly to about one hour after full charging ,how can i deal with this problem?

    you have a one year warranty.  You can purchase an extended warranty called "AppleCare" that will make the warranty 3 years, but you need to purchase it before the mac turns one year old.  Alsoyou do not need a paper, the serial # determines the age of the mac.

  • Retina MBP 2.6 only 3 hours of battery life?

    My 1 week old Retina MBP 2.6 is only getting 3 hours max on battery with light surfing. When watching videos i also only get 3 hours tops. Bluetooth is off, keyboard light off, screen backlighting 50%, gfxCardstatus set to integrated only (also confirmed in energy saving settings). I run 10.7.4, all updates installed.
    Is this normal? Isn´t it supposed to get at least 5 hours when browsing the web (no youtube)? Should i return it and get the 2.3 instead for more battery life?
    Thanks in advance.

    There have been reports of problems with various models experiencing low battery life after installing Mountain Lion but as you're still using Lion, you should be getting at least 7 hours on battery for light web surfing (not a lot of YouTube videos, etc.).
    My suggestion would be to take the machine into your local Apple Store and let them deal with the problem. Before that you can download the free "Battery Health" from the App Store which lets you see your battery health in real-time, as opposed to always having to go into your System Report. There's no reason that you should be getting less than 7+ hours of battery life.

  • I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. Please help

    I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.

    Disabled
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • One hour time difference between Palm and Exchange calendar items

    Calendar items on Exchange and Palm are off by one hour.
    Exchange server, desktop PC and Palm are all set to PST with the same time. Versamail account on Palm has been deleted and rebuilt.

    What is interesting is the appointments entered in Outlook show up on the Palm one hour early however they show the correct time in (parenthises) so the Palm seems to be somewhat aware of the problem.
    This same issue occurs on different Palm T/X 's with different Outlook accounts.

  • How do I use "touch -t" to shift a batch of JPG timestamps by one hour?

    I'm trying to use "touch -t" to shift a batch of JPG created/modified timestamps by one hour to fix a time zone error. Is this possible?
    (I don't want to have to manually go to every file, and enter its current timestamp all the same way except for the month.)
    By the way, does using the "touch" command have the same JPG lossy effect as saving the file again?

    picky picky picky
    So you write a script that uses stat to get the current modification time and then add 60 minutes to it, with the date command, then then use that with touch against the file. Nothing to it
    #!/bin/sh
    find starting.directory -name "*.jpg" | while read file
    do
    ls -l "$file"
    mtimeinsec=$(stat -f %m "$file")
    mtimeplus_1H_in_touchfmt=$(date -j -r $mtimeinsec -v +1H +%G%m%d%H%M.%S)
    /usr/bin/touch -t $mtimeplus_1H_in_touchfmt "$file"
    ls -l "$file"
    done
    I've added an hour to the modification time. If you want to subtract an hour the +1H to -1H
    If you want to use shell wildcard selection modify the loop to be something like
    #!/bin/sh
    for file in *.jpg
    do
    ... the guts of the above while loop ...
    done
    If you just want to provide a list of files, you can change the *.jpg to a list of files. JUST BE CAREFUL OF SPACES IN FILE NAMES and directories
    If you want a drag and drop application, you can do that with some additional changes and either using Applications -> Automator with the "Run Shell Command" or using Platypus (free download, and a very nice utility). The script would change to:
    #!/bin/sh
    for file in "$@"
    do
    ... the guts of the above while loop ...
    done
    I have tested the very first script. I am fairly confident my 2nd to examples are right, but they are untested, so your mileage may vary.

  • Exchange / Google calendar entries off by one hour after DST

    I noticed that all of my repeating entries from my Google calendar on my iPhone (synced with the Exchange "Google sync" method) were off by one hour, appearing one hour delayed, starting November 7th, 2010 and ending in March 2011 when DST starts again. After turning Time Zone Support off in the iPhone settings, everything fixed. However, this is unfortunate if it means I don't have the ability to shift my calendar when I travel. Anyone else experience this problem, or know of an actual fix (as opposed to this work-around)?

    Woraround: Turn on time zone support in the mail calendar settings and choose your location. Downside is you have to change it if you are traveling. I thin apple should address this as a bug.

  • Scheduled Fax - Time off by one hour

    If I schedule a fax job on a remote computer and select "Send at" via the scheduler drop-down, it behaves differently in Tiger (10.4.6) than in Panther (10.3.9).
    In Panther, it works as I would expect. The default time is the current time, and when you schedule the job, the remote system has the same time as you set.
    In Tiger, the default time that comes up is 6:00PM , and when you change this time and schedule the job, the remote computer schedules it for one hour ahead of your time.
    I have verified that the time zone settings are the same on all computers, and it does the same whether the shared fax is on a Tiger system or a Panther system.

  • Outlook appointment time off by one hour

    First time posting a new question.  When syncing my BB to desktop Outlook calendar with new appointments by USB cable, the appointment time on the BB is exactly one hour later than when its scheduled in Outlook.  So, an appt for 10:00 am on my desktop shows as 11:00 am on my BB.  Its true whether the appt was entered on my BB or in Outlook calendar.  I currently use Outlook 2007 on my desktop with Windows XP, have BB Curve 8530 Version 5.0 with Verizon and use BB desktop software version 6.1.0.35.  Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated, and keep me from being late AGAIN for appointments.

  • IPhone 5 time off by one hour.

    I just purchased a new Sprint iPhone 5 last week. This morning I woke up and the clock was off by exactly one hour. I tried turning the phone on and off and resetting it to no avail. Finally I went into settings > date & time and turned on and off the automatic time function and it fixed the problem for about 4 hours; however, just now it reverted to being incorrect. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on? I'm running IOS 6.1.3 which I believe is the most current version.
    Thanks!

    It just now went off by an hour again, under the timezone field it says "etc/GMT+6" instead of chicago. I'm thinking this is probably a Sprint problem??
