Vision m -stuck in recovery, cannot upgrade firmw

hello there.
i have a friends zen vision m 30gb here which is stuck in recovery mode, stating version v0.0.6. it is not detected by the pc if i try to upgrade firmware, while the pc detects my own vision m if i run firmware upgrade. is it possible to fix this and might format all
achieve anything.

Hi,
The format probably will not help in this case. if the firmware is not detecting the unit (but works with your own) I'd say perhaps the only option left is try option 3 (reload OS). I would not be optimistic though.
If there are still problems I'd suggest contacting customer services for a return.

  • Creative Zen Vision 30Gb Stuck in Recovery Mode, Freezes when trying to deal with Firmware

My Zen Vision is stuck in Recovery Mode. The PC recognizes it but it comes up as 50mb Storage Media. When you touch Reload Firmware or Format All, it freezes and you have to pull the battery out to shut it off. I don't know what to do. Charges fine, never said anything about HARDWARE issues, just can't get it to not freeze when trying to load firmware back onto it.

I did the same thing, my unit was working perfectly.
I just read that these players have a laptop 2.5 hard dri've installed in the unit. If this is true, the next chance I get, I will take my unit apart (40 gig nomad zen xtra) and see if I can reinstall the firmware directly. It's probably what they do at the repair sho

  • Vision m 30 stuck in recovery with no firmw

hello,my creative zen vision m 30 gb is stuck in recovery mode. I have downloaded the new firmware but the pc does not detect the player. I now have a player with apperantly no firmware that cannot hook up to any pc. I have reformated, reboot, and reloaded firmware (actually only deleted). All the options on the recovery screen I have tried it on a different pc & using different usb cable. Used windows player 0 & . Verified that the device manager does recognize the player. Deleted and reinstalled the player from the device manager. Updated & rolled back the drivers for the device manager.
I have tried downloading new patches, updates to the creative explorer, but they would not execute, they would crash trying to. Each and every time - player not detected. I believe i have exhausted all possibilities of my small knowledge base, searching on the net & on Creative's sites, any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will need a solid Internet connection.  With out it, you will not be able to restore your MBP.  If you have to, go to an Apple store.
A late 2011 MBP came with Lion.
Boot the MBP OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down.
The display should show a revolving globe.
This will connect you to the Apple servers and allow you to install Lion (10.7)
    Follow the instructions.
After you have Lion installed, then you can download and install Mavericks (10.9)
    Ciao.

  • Vision M stuck on recovery m

    Hi
I have a Zen Vision M, and when I turn it on, it is stuck on recovery mode. Looking through previous posts, I see this is a common problem, however the fixes that were posted didn't help. I think what needs to happen, is for me to find the original firmware, not the update, since the firmware is probably messed up... if any one knows where I could find the firmware to download, NOT the upgrade which is on the download section, PLEASE post it! Thanks in advance,
    Aaron

  • Zen vision:m, stuck in recovery mode and cant press "ok&qu

My zen vision:m is stuck in recovery mode. The real problem I have though is that I cant press the touch button and choose a alternati've. I can scroll and everything, but I just can't press "ok". Anyone have an idea of what I can do to fix this?

Did you try to revert to Windows Media Player 0 by removing WMP and WMP Runtime ? Then try to add your firmware. It worked for me on a couple of other Creative players and when I was trying to reload firmware, and install the Vision M. Seems to me that I also removed all the Creative software one time, but try reverting to WMP 0 first.

  • Zen vision M stuck at recovery mode scr

i was having trouble transferring songs onto my player so i followed the instructions on the website about updating the firmware. when i rebooted the player (because it, of course, froze) it took me to the recovery mode and now its stuck there. the player does now say version .62.02_0.0.23 but when i try to do anything in the recovery mode, the screen will flash "firmware problem" then go back to the recovery mode. what do i do now?
    thank you

Support told me to reformat, however that gave me the message "Harddisk Problem", so I ended up having to send it in for repair. Hopefully yours will work.

  • Zen Micro - Stuck in recovery; can't connect; can't upgrade firmw

I sent a request to customer service, but since I purchased my Zen 3 months ago, I'm not eligible for email support. SO, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it...since I can't do anything with my Zen right now.
I just bought into a subscription service and my 4Gb Zen Micro is stuck in recovery mode after upgrading to PlaysForSure firmware.
    Here's what happened:
. Downloaded and installed Creative Zen Micro PlaysForSure Firmware update 2.2.02. Zen restarted after installation stalled. Displayed "Firmware Problem"
    2. Zen connected to PC and only recognized by XP as an MTP Device MTP Device Properites:
    Model Name: Creative Zen Micro
    Manufacturer: Creative Technology Ltd
    Firmware version: 2.2.02_0.00.65
    3. Downloaded and installed Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update (ZENM_PCAPP_LB_MTP_PDE.exe) -- install failed because it never recognized my Zen, which was connected
    4. Downloaded and installed Creative PlaysForSure Devices Plugin 5.00.36 for Creative
MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer (CMS5_MTP_PCAPP_LB_5_00_36.exe) -- install successful, but it never recognized my Zen, which was connected I think I need to reload the firmware but I can't get any of the firmware updates to work. None of the creative software, including firmware updates, recognizes that the Zen is connected. I have not been able to figure out a way to have XP (SP2) recognize the device so that Ican reload the firmware and use the Creative Software. WMP 9, 0 and (I tried them all) do not recognize the device when it's plugged in. I also plugged in the Zen into two different computers. Same results.
    5. Tried directions on Solution ID # 4275 MP3 player not detected. Same results.
    6. I've followed the registry edits suggested on Solution ID # 0053 MTP players not recognized in Windows XP and that did not fix the problem either.

It took a while, but I finally have my Zen Micro working again. I did some searching in the forums on "Firmware Problem" and that gave me some great ideas. Here's what I did.
. Uninstalled WMP and 0. Rolled back to WMP 9.
    2. Edited my registry. I searched for anything related to the Creative software and deleted the entry. I just searched for the word "Creative". Restarted my PC.
    3. When I plugged in my Zen, Windows recognized it, without using the MTP driver. Problem was that I wasn't be able to load a driver to use the device. So, I went and installed WMP0.
    4. After installing WMP0, I plugged in my Zen and Windows recognized the device and installed a driver.
    5. I ran the firmware upgrade from Creative and I was back in business.
    Hope this hel

  • IPad1 stuck in recovery mode with and ITunes cannot restore with an error code of 11?

I tried to update to IOS 4.3.4 today but now my iPad1 stuck in recovery mode with and ITunes cannot restore with an error code of 11?
(With the old discussion groups it was easy to see where other people had similar problems, these new groups seems clunky in comparison)

OK, fixed it by using SHIFT+RESTORE to load the iPad1,1_4.3.4_8K2_Restore.ipsw  file in directly from the
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
    folder.
No idea why the upgrade to 4.3.3 failed in the first place and no idea why iTunes was not clever enough to just do it by itself when it detected that there was a problem in the first place.

  • ZEN TOUCH 20GB - Stuck in Recovery Mode, during Firmware upgrade. HEL

    Ooooh dear.
Me and my Zen Touch are completely stuck. Decided to upgrade the Zen's Software and Firmware and am now in deep trouble. Here are the steps I took.
First I sensibly backed up the 2000 songs on the player to my computer. Then I updated the MediaSource software and restarted the computer. Then I decided to go for the big change and downloaded the new PlayForSure firmware installation and that's where the problem starts - It never completed the installation, which I had to manually stop. I knew as part of puting this new Firmware onto the player, the Zen would be wiped clean, which it has. However, I now cannot get it out of recovery mode and it will not respond to attempts to download the new (or any) Firmware onto it.
    What I now get is:
-Plug the Zen in, the computer recognises that there is plug and play equipment attached and makes the appropriate noise.
-The Zen will switch itself on as a response (or I can do it manually), with a normal-looking startup. It then briefly flashes a screen saying "Firmware Problem" before going into recovery mode.
-If I choose Clean Up, it takes a few seconds to clean the now empty disk, and returns to the recovery menu
-If I choose Format All, pretty much the same as Clean Up
-If I choose Reload Firmware, it warns me that the firmware will be erased. And asks if it should reload it via USB. You say 'yes' and it briefly flashes up "Start firmware update now" before returning to the recovery mode menu.
And finally, if I select Reboot, that's exactly what it does; the computer recognises that it's turned off, makes the noise, and recognises when it's turned on again.
Trying to download the Firmware from the computer, however, has turned into a nightmare. I've tried downloading the PlayForSure firmware and old Firmware from the files on my computer (running XP, by the way). And I've also tried prompting the Zen starting up the Media Source software, BUT they all claim that the player is NOT connected! Even though it is! The Zen switches on and Windows makes a sound every time I connect or disconnect it!
So what to do? I'm stuck in this vicious circle and no matter what random tricks I try, I can't get out. The player needs Firmware, but the software on the computer claims the player's not connected.
The player is now more than a year old, so I can't return it, and Creative's less-than-generous telephone support is not an option, so I'm left to any imaginati've and kind-hearted subscribers to this list to offer suggestions.

  • Error 1015 upgrading to iOS5 - iPad 2 - Stuck in Recovery?

So basically the title is a synopsis.
I upgrade to iOS5 on my iPad2 and midway through the update I get the error (1015) and then my iPad 2 is stuck in recovery mode with no firmware apparently and on top of it all my computer does not detect the device so I cannot restore it.
Thankfully I have a friend who's computer has no problem seeing it after that error and I just restore it using his.
The weird thing is that my iPhone 4 had no problem upgrading AND is still visible by my computer.
Once my iPad 2 is restored It is visible again but still stuck on 4.3.5...

    Anyone? Nothing?

  • IPod Touch 4g stuck in recovery mode after iso 5.0 upgrade attempt

Sorry that I'm late to the party and too stupid not to know better when updating my ipod touch just days after the update was released, when will I learn.
I have tried nearly everything I've seen posted in this community and others ... unpluging all usb, holding down sleep and home, re-installing itunes 10.5 ... you name it.
I can't find an answer to this problem anywhere, but rather people yelling at other people for not being able to help and badmouthing eachother because they are ****** off at Apple.
Is there any updated news on what the issue is with error 1604 or why Idevices are getting stuck in recovery mode?
Are the servers still swamped and I just can't get through?
Next time I will wait about 3 months before upgrading a new operating system (but then, I think I said that the last time I did this.)
    Thanks for any help.

hi, my iPhone5s is only 3 months old, it has been like a whole month now since it started crashing, displaying the blue screen of death, since yesterday it was in the loop of restart-crash, and now it is stuck in recovery mode after lots of times displaying blue screen.
I cannot restore it as phone continues crashing again with blue screen, when iTunes displays error 14 on verification.

It's a hardware problem. That's it. You shouldn't bother yourself with this situation. Just see an AASP.

  • Zen Vision M 30GB is stuck in Recovery Mode

Hi, I have a Zen Vision M 30GB that is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have tried ' Cleaning ', ' Formatting ' and ' Reload Firmware ' but none of my 3 computers in which it was previously used recognise the device. The computers have Win Xp Home, Win xP Pro and Win 7 Pro, 64-bit. I could get it to connect once to my Win 7 and I set the firmware down to .4 ( I think), as I have read that latest Firmware .20 does not recognise some of the new batteries with 400 mAh and 700mAh batteries. I have tried the MP3 Recovery Tool, Creative Wizard tool but none work. Would appreciate any suggestion. I have read extensi'vely the postings about Zen Vision M in the ABIT (anythingbutipod) Forums, but no luck in re-loading the firmware. TIA, MPM

I had installed .4. and in the Recovery Mode, it dispalys v0.0.6. I have Creative Zen Vision M Media Explorer installed in both, my Xp Home desktop and Xp Pro ( not 64-bit) in my laptop. I will check which version of WMP is installed in my Xp systems.
On many occasions, all 3 computers (including Win & Pro 64-bit) signalled ' Un-recognised USB Device many times but now nothing happens and I can operate the touch pad of the Zen even when it is connected to the computers !!
