Vision M, ZEN, 30GB, Music Analyzer probl

When trying to use the music analyzer, the (Acuisition In Progress) window opens then shortly after a window titled (Acti've Movie Window) pops up and the analyzer sto
ps.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Support has been no help.

UPDATE: I tried transferring using the 'add media' option and it came up with an error message saying there wasn't enough space for the files. As I said, it's a '60GB' player, and says it has more than 6GB free space left... Is it really full? Incidentally, I've disabled the disk partition thing, so it's not that taking up space. Help!

MediaSource Music Analyzer prob

Hi,
I am using MediaSource 3.30.2 together with a X-Fi and a Zen Micro. When I am using Music Analyzer it works without problems as far as acquiring track information goes. But the problem is that everytime I use it the program gathers information for the whole Library again. I have uninstalled every Creative software on my system, cleaned the registry and reinstalled, to no avail. The software is supposed to only gather information for new tracks if I understand correctly. Maybe someone can help with this problem.

Creative Zen loading music problem

"Creative Zen loading music problem?I just started using a creative zen (DVP-FL000, 6Gb) player and i'm having?a few issues copying music onto it.
I have loaded the latest firmware (.2.03e) onto it and formatted it so was clean when i started loading my music on.
I'm using winamp on winxp to copy my music to the player, but occasionally i get tracks that wont copy to the player. Winamp just shows 'unspecified error'. If a file fails to copy it will never copy, no matter how many times i try. Somtimes its a random track, sometimes an entire album.
So i also tried copying the tracks that wont copy using windows explorer, it appears to copy but the file never appears on the device. The same is also true when i try it on my Windows7 laptop with explorer, it will appear to be copying but then part way through it will report that the device has stopped responding.
It only seems to happen with windows media files, all my mp3s copy fine. The files that dont copy probably represent about 0% of my music but play fine on all my other players.
sorry for the long post, just really scratching my head with this one!

Music Analyzer / Synthesizer

I seem to remember reading about a Mac program that can 'listen' to a piece of music, analyze the instrumentation and style, then generate new music based on what it finds. What I'm looking for is a program that I can 'seed' with a piece of music and have it generate similar music. This music would them be used as a background track for slideshows, etc. (personal use only). Sorry I can't be more detailed, but I have zero knowledge in this area.

Smart Playlists' Music Analyzer takes a

I've had various versions of MediaSource for about fi've years, but I've just recently tried using the smart playlist functions.
I ran the once-off music analyzer tool for volume and tempo on my collection of ~8000 mp3/wma files. This took a lot longer than I had bargained for. My PC is from late 200 but it's not ridiculously slow. IT TOOK 3.5 DAYS. It's a P4 .66GHz with 52Mb RAM running XP SP2. I had stopped all unnecessary processes for this, and even removed my wallpaper to save RAM (although I don't think RAM is the issue as the analyzer seems to only process one file at a time).
Is this normal?

Hi all,
Just playing around for the first time with the MediaSource program. I have started the Music analyzer to rate the BPM and only 40 tracks out of the 350 available tracks in the PC-library have been rated. All other have a '-'sign in the BPM property column(Dutch: Tempo). So my Smart Play Lists are rather empty...:-)
Any help on this is appreciated.

The issue is related to the performance of the MediaSource software which is somewhat unpredictable. I have deleted the media database to force an refresh of the PC music library and started the music analyzer again. This gave a much better score than before; 200 out of 350 tracks had a tempo rate. Repeated this a second time which gave different results...

Zen Vision: M 30GB...proble

I had just?installed my Zen Vision: M and everything was working as it should. I then attempted to transfer almost 900 songs. It was taking a long time, but it was working. But, then it just stopped transfering. A good 600 songs were successfully transfered over to my player. The Creative MediaSource organizer froze up. Then my computer froze up. I restarted my computer and tried to transfer the rest of the songs. It wouldn't work. My computer detected that my Zen Vision was plugged in, but when it came down to transfering songs over nothing would happen. I mean nothing!? My Creative MediaSource kept acting up and nothing would work anymore. So, I uninstalled everything. Then I re-installed it, thinking that it was the mediasource.
Nothing works. I have been at this for over 6 hours...does anyone have any suggestions? Please?

It is not seperated or partitioned for certain files, you can use the space whichever way you want, if you want to put only music on it, you can do that.

Outside of Warranty Zen Xtra 30gb Power Jack probl

Hello,
I have had my Zen for over a year now, purchased in early last if memory serves, although this particular one is a replacement for a first unit that had headphone jack problems, and I have it since June of last year. For a few weeks my Zen has had problems recharging, only indicating that it is being powered up when the AC Adapter prong is pulled or pushed at a certain angle and held at that angle. At first I thought that it may be the actual cord that was causing the problem, since it was damaged from being chewed on my one of my family's cats, but it seems as though it may be an internal player problem. After trying the above mentioned method with no success yesterday I noticed that the small prong inside the player end of the power connection was bent or loose, and it will no longer indicate recieving a charge for more than a second.
My question is can I still send it in (recieve an RMA and return to creative labs at a cost), or is there a Do it yourself solution? Recommendations for a third party repair solution?
If necessary I can provide pics within the next couple of days, to help describe the problem.

If your handy with a soldering iron the Socket can be replaced although Creative wont recommend this.

Including Vision M in PC music libr

Is there any way that I can consolidate the tracks on my Zen Vision M into the 'PC music library' WITHOUT the files being physically copied to my hard dri've. At the moment I have to access tracks by selecting the Music directory on the Zen Vision, and clicking through all the folders to play the files. As most of my music is stored on my vision m, it makes all the windows to the right pretty much redundant.
I also have an iaudio attached to my computer most of the time, and would like to be able to search through that, the vision m and mp3s on my hard dri've all at once.

Don't use the Generic one as it can damage the player, The cell phone one doesn't output enough juice for it.Can't say about the SanDisk one. The older the battery the less playtime it will output. Age of the battery has more to do with it than use of it. So the charger itself would be my guess. Zen Sleek Photo Transfer Probl

For the past 2 weeks or so my Zen will not upload music files. The software does not recognize that it is connected at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also following the suggestions provided on the site. Is there anything else I can do?
Also, another minor problem is that it does not display the name of the songs that are playing.. instead it says select music to play

I hope you know that there is more than one Zen?

I have recently bought a Zen M Vision, and I'm just trying to put all my music on it.BlablaAnyway, the problem is, when I put 5 different albums (by the same band) on it, it doesn't show as 5 different albums, it puts all the songs into one album 'unkown'. And they are all mixed up so I can't play one album by itself without having to skip loads of tracks inbetween songs. I don't know if that makes sense, sorry! I am rubbish at explaining things :smileytongue:So if you understood that and can help me out and tell me how to get my songs into different albums then that's great!Thanks.

Sounds like the "Album" field in the ID3 tag was filled in as Unknown. When you rip your music, you can use the online CDDB tool to get the information about the album (like the artist and track names), or you can fill it in manually. If you fill it in manually, don't forget to fill in the Album title aswell.
Which application do you use to transfer your music to the player, and do you use that same application to rip your CDs?

My new Vision:M stops transferring music after like 10 so

I just received my Vision:M today and cannot transfer my music!
After transferring like 0 songs my Vision:M seemingly stops taking additional data. The computer shows the moving folders, but the same song shows and the data transfer bar doesn't move. I eventually have to go into task manager and end task. This happens every time I try to transfer songs and it does not seem to get caught on the same song every time. I have tried reloading the software which came with the player to no avail. The computer I am using is brand new running WinXP. I do not have any other programs running at the same time. Anybody have any ideas before I return this thing and give up on Creative? Wow, my Iaudio X5 had no problems transferring music, but this thing is a mess! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had that same problem too at first. Are you connecting your zen vision: m to a usb port on your computer monitor or another prehipheral? I had connected my zen to a usb port on my monitor and it would freeze up just as you described, but when I connected it to a usb port on my computer it works great.

How many times can you format a zen xtra without causing proble

I had many transfer problems due to id3 tagging done through ripping cds using windows media 9 before i got mediasource software.i found most of my problem were solved by formatting the zen which i did many times over past month until i got it right. I have over 0gs or music on computer thus no problem transferring it to zen after formats. I have had to reburn some cds to mediasource and may have to in future.could this formatting,retransferring of the zen hard dri've cause mechanical problems down the road if its done too many times?

Just wanted to mention - I bought the IR Remote thinking to make the player useful without navigation keys. Now I feel like I wasted more money instead of shifting to some other player by some other company with better customer service.
