Vision problem

Hi all,
Since a few months, I have a vision (eye-) problem. So it is becoming very difficult for me to read the title and artists of the songs I play on my ipod touch.
Is there a way to install a langer size of characters/letters, or f.e. to replace the album-picture by a the name of the song, the album and the singer in a larger size.
Thanks and greets from Belgium!
Pierre

If you have trouble viewing fine user interface objects, you have two ways to fix this:
(1) Set your monitor resolution to a smaller value so all the pixels on the screen become bigger.
(2) Get a new prescription for your glasses.

.. Certainly not the best idea for a professional but just fine for a guy who likes to edit for fun.
that's were the fun stops on a MacOs-based system ..
FC/e supports only a few 'standards': DV (as from miniDV cams), HDV (from miniDV devices), AVCHD (from most devices) and with a little trick, described on my website AVCHD-light (720p, as from many compact-stills) ..
    done.
some Flips are supported by iMovie, which you can abuse as a converter tool.
but 'non video standard' (=read 'video' as 'in TV') formats, resolutions and codecs ...
    a) manual conversion = less convenient
    b) loss of 'quality', e.g. when you blow-up tiny 480x320/15fps into video..
FC/e is FC/pros lil' brother.. meant for a more.. adult workflow..
if you like to wrestle with multi-formats, stay with Windows/Magix/..
Windows=options, with a chance of getting lost
MacOs=convenience, with a chance of getting restricted

  • Update issue - vision problems!

I am so frustrated I could scream!  Two phone calls to Verizon Customer Tech Support which ended up with them giving me the Motorola phone number.  Two calls to them and I am no better off than yesterday at 9:00 when my phone was updated.
Problem:  I have vision problems and had my contacts, bookmarks, etc., set to a black background with white text as it is easier for me to read.  Now I get an update, which I hate by the way, and everything is white with black text which cannot be changed.
    Verizon:  "Nothing we can do"
Motorola: "Try and find an App that might do that"
Me:  "You made my phone practically useless to me now and I want this fixed!"
My wish.....that someone here can help me without changing my whole phone to other themes that I am not interested in. I am a professional and do not want a phone that looks like something a 17 year old would have.  Nothing wrong with it, just not for me.  As far as I am concerned Verizon should be giving me a new phone that hasn't had the update yet.  No satisfaction from them will send me packing as soon as my contract is up.  I am disgusted at this point and extremely frustrated.

Sally give this a try i know it wont change the Color but it may help you a Little. Go into settings > then Display > Then touch the Brightness once there take your brightness bar an slide it left all the way to were just alittle is left an also uncheck Automatic Brightness. As i said it's not going to change the color but it might be easier on your eye's.
Just like on my computer i ajusted the display on my X down to a lower level because it was to white an bright for me but i did'nt want to do away with my X an i had my display turned down before the gingerbread update anyway. But i'm not a fan of this new style of arrangement eather to me moto totally screwed up the calling keyboard on the bottom its nice an black as it should be but up by the 1 ,2  an 3 key an were you enter in the search box its almost washed out it so white. They should at lest maid it to were you could have a choice selection to go back to were it was. or change the color to what fit your needs instead of one size fits all. If you know what i mean. Hopes this helps ya out alittle. B33

  • New Infinity and BT Vision problem solved - thanks...

Not a problem or a complaint this time, but a pat on the back for BT.
I received my new BT Infinity service today, the engineers were on time, professional and quick.  After my Infinity service was active however I noticed I was getting a lot of V04 errors on BT Vision On Demand stuff.  I checked the line speed, and all seemed to be great, I am getting over 42meg!! So why the V04??  I called BT support and spoke to a lovely lady who seemed to know exactly what I was talking about, and she had the problem sussed out and fixed in about two minutes.
It turns out the problem was due to a QoS setting on my profile.  Over the last 18 months or so I had several times that my old ADSL broadband line speed would just dissappear to almost nothing, each time the BT support staff would push up the QoS in order to try and provide a good enough line speed for the BT vision to work.  This setting was never fixed when my new Infinity connection was setup and it was causing problems, hence the V04.  Problem appears to be fixed now, thanks for the quick resultion BT.

One thing on powerline adaptors (picked up from a comment by another poster on the forum at some point).
Powerline adaptors should never be used on power surge controlled extensions.
Where possible, they should not be used on extensions.
They should not be plugged into the one half of a twin socket with a surge controlled extension in the other half.
Most people know the first two, but maybe not the third ~ I didn't till I saw that other post.  It is quite natural to have all your computer equipment plugged into a surge controlled extension with the powerline plugged in conveniently next to it.  When I read the other post I changed mine around; because of the layout I had to break rule 2 to do it and temporarily use a long mains extension for the powerline, but it still very considerably imporoved the powerline performance.
That said, the performance I was seeing even with the problem wasn't bad enough to stop streaming working.
They say that because it can hinder the performance, as some surge protectors destroy signal but some are fine.

  • Zen Vision Problem. Driving me batty! He

Dear Customer Support and fellow Zen Users,
I have had my Creative Zen M: Vision (30G) for just over one year now and for the last few months I have been having many problems with the unit until, finally, it has become stuck today. Here is a short history of my problems and then what I have done to try to solve them:
    PROBLEM
Last month the player froze while I was fastforwarding a track. I hit reset and the product started to rebuild the library. However, when it was finished it had only put on 30% of the tracks that had been on the player.
I returned 80% of my tracks to the player and things were working fine.
Yesterday the same problem occurred with freezing between tracks and I had to hit the reset button. I decided to only add a few tracks and formatted the player removing everything.
I added only 5 albums but would experience the player locking up on my computer during the transfer. I d have to reset and start again.
Finally, the player went into recovery mode when I turned it on and has not come out since.
When I turn on the player there is a brief "FIREWARE" error on the start-up screen.
HOW I VE TRIED TO FIX IT
I ve formatted the player a few times.
I ve cleaned up the dri've.
I ve tried to add new firmware but now the player is not being detected on my computer.
I ve tried to use your MP3 Recovery tool but, again, the player is not being detected on the computer.
I erased all Zen software on my computer and reinstalled but still the player is not detected.
In short: Unable to load firm ware. Player boots to recovery mode.
I believe I need to add again some firmware but with the player not being detected it has made that impossible and I am at the end of my rope for options on how to fix my player. I have treated it fine for the year I have owned it and hope this is a simple solution.
Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this problem and get my player back.
    Cheers

  • Please somebody help with bt vision problem

    Ok here goes:
after spending over two hours on the phone to BT's diabolically poor indian call centre's I though I might have more luck checking if anyone online has the same problem.
Basically my bt vision box doesnt record and neither does it give me the option to access the recordings I have already made.
The white bar at the top of the screen doesnt show the word "recordings" anymore.
I've spoken to about 7 different advisors who claim there is no record on the system of me being a BT vision customer (i've been using it since august!!!) and when they can't fix my problem they usually just pass me to another (usually irrelavant) department.
Anyone got any ideas? Or failing that a direct number for a uk based call centre?

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
It turns out (I found out from yet another call to the help desk) that the numpty who took an order from me to upgrade from BB option 2 to option 3 somehow cancelled my BT vision account. I've just been on the phone for an age trying to re-order my service. Now it appears that they've started my contract all over again!!! So it looks like i'll be spending my saturday morning onto the billing department sorting out that mess!
Note to BT :YOUR INDIAN CALL CENTRES ARE SHOCKINGLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one wants to spend 3 hours of their life on the phone trying to sort out somebody else's mistake.
If only I could get virgin media in my area I would never have gone to BT.
I have got Virgin Media in my area, and I haven't bothered, because they are, unfortunately, are just as bad.
Bt's UK call centre staff are OK, if not excellent.
You should ring 0800 800 900 early in the morning and you should get the UK call staff.
They really know their stuff. They'll sort you out.

  • Zen:Vision problems.

My zen:vision will only display the loading mode(when you turn it on), never reaching the main menu. I'm unable to turn it off. It's just frozen until the battery goes out!... Is there anything I can do?...or should I send it back?

    Hi,
Please enter recovery mode and perform a Clean Up & Reboot.
    Additional suggestions:
Just to make sure that the contents are not causing the player to freeze, you can try formatting the player. Enter recovery mode and select Format (All). Note that doing this will erase all the files in the player.
If you have not already, do connect the player to another computer to see if the same problem occurs.

  • Terrible eye strain and vision problems

HP recently gave me a replacement to a Pavillion w/ Windows 7.
The brand new twice as expensive laptop had 8.1
For two weeks the screen was hazy, they replace the monitor, then sent me a new computer.
It too was hazy although less.  After 2 weeks my eyes hurt so bad, I returned it and kept my old 7.1 which is quite clear and sharp.
My eyes are having serious issues, I always had 20x20.  Now there is strain in my eyes and my vision is hampered.
    I want to sue.......
What can I do??????  Where to begin????
I even went to Best Buy and looked at 3 HP's two of them were completely hazed the $1000 one was clear.
But all were 8.1.  This is a serious problem.

What can I do??????  Where to begin????
Look up the specifications for your particular computer model's display.  Specifically, find out what the "native" screen resolution
is.  All LCDs have a "native" or "for best results" or "recommended" resolution.  It will be expressed in pixels (e.g., something like "1366 x 768 pixels").
Now, with the computer on and showing the desktop, right-click in an open space on the desktop and choose
    Screen Resolution.
Does the displayed Resolution: value you see there match your native screen resolution?
If not, and you change it to make it match, then OK out of the dialog, does it look better?

  • Wide screen problem with my humax

    Hi
Am aware this is not a BT vision problem but any help appreciated.
Just connected a new TV to Vision box and Humax Freesat HD. For the HD box switched to hdmi connection but can't get a full screen resolution, tried going to settings etc...The TV is a widescreen LCD tv with full HD 1080p. My BT picture via scart is fine.

Are you saying you can't find the 1080 setting on the Humax box or it is set to 1080 and doesn't seem to work? The TV may have a different aspect setting for each input so make sure and check both ends.

    Hi Sanjana,
The main reason is "Client independent objects not changeable in this client" Or "System is not set to changeable - objects are not changeable" ..
You can proceed in the following way :
                      RSA1 -> transport connection ->object changeability -> check the object type:XLWB(workbook)
Check the setting , wheather it is 'Not Changeable', If the setting is 'Not Changeable' ....Then modify  it to 'Everything Changeable'.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Reporting display problems to Apple

If you are having display problems, you should not be waiting for others to complain or just sit there stewing in your juices. Call AppleCare and tell them what's going on. People in IT have told me that one of the most frustrating things that they encounter are customers who do not complain about real problems. If they don't complain, no one knows that there's a problem, and the customer just gets depressed or hostile for mysterious reasons. You may discover that someone has been doing some kind of awkward work-around for a software problem or bug, and when you ask then how long that has been going on, they may say 5 years!
I just called AppleCare earlier today and carefully explained the symptoms of my screen and why it bothered me. I tried to explain that the gradient problem is triggering alarm bells in my brain that there must be some kind of vision problem. The guy on the other end was very patient, asked questions, and really seemed to listen. He admitted to me that they need to know this stuff. I finally had to get off the phone because of a lightning storm, but I got a case number to continue the conversation later this weekend.

Let us know what happens! I've also been on the phone with Apple -- three times in the past week -- and I've gotten two different people to actually admit, in a sort of weak way, that they're actually aware of the problem. They want my machine to go to "repair", since I'm past the 14 days, first suggesting that I bring it to the Apple Store far from my neighborhood, and then telling me that I can get a site visit after complaining that I hardly have time to get there (totally true) and I'm small and the thing is difficult for me to carry (totally true), although I have to wait for my extended AppleCare, which I purchased yesterday, to arrive in the mail. One of them told me that she thought she's heard of some of these problems actually being fixed. We'll see.
Two of them have suggested that I try an archive/reinstall, just to confirm that it's not a software problem, although both admitted that it was probably a hardware problem anyway. Has anyone tried that? Has anyone wondered what that original iMac update 1.0 actually did?
I've been trying to emphasize my theory about a DC offset on the LCD inverter output, and supposedly they are taking notes, but I wonder if any of that actually makes it up to the engineers. I'm hardly a crank. I have science, very advanced math, and IT backgrounds, and did a lot of tinkering with electronics as a kid. I really wish I could talk directly to the engineers.
And speaking from a long IT background, I can say that one of the most dangerous customer relations things you can do is deny that a real problem exists. That tactic always backfires with a vengeance.
