Vision usb camera error

Hi,
I am using LabVIEW version 9 and Vision Acquisition software together with a USB 2.0 digital camera. My error is that when i run my VI, the Vision Acquisition software can't find the camera but it can find it only if the VI is not running. (Attached below is the error that I get). How do I solve this issue?

Hello LHX,
Are you still encountering the same error?
When you say that it "can find it only if the VI is not running", can you elaborate on this statement? Are you able to see your USB camera inside of Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and are you able to successfully grab images from there? That will be the first thing to check. Because if it cannot grab images inside of MAX, then you will not be able to in your VI.
You also may want to verify that your Vision Acquisition Software (VAS) license is indeed activated for you computer. You can check this by going to the NI License Manager program.

  • Driver For USB camera Error

    Hi,
i am using a USB camera and wish to write a VI to Grab Real Time Image. I used the sample Grab program provided by the IMAQ-USB camera manual.
I got this error that says camera not connected. But my camera works fine with Vision Assistant. Any idea what causes this error?

VGA CD-ROM, can you give me the exact model of the Creative live Camera.
Can you give me the link of the camera? that would be better.
    I found this.
I wonder if this is any good.

  • IMAQ for USB cameras error -1074396024 system error

    Hi,
I used a IMAQ for usb cameras.vi. It works well in my laptop which is a newer one. Well, when I changed to an old one computer and ran it, the error shows that system error, i.e. -1074396024. Could you tell me what it means and how to fix it?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I tried to use MAX to configure the Dazzle card, see the attached file. It says that it does not have any video mode which is supported. Our camcorder has the analog signal output. Is it due to the camcorder problem or this Dazzle USB converter problem? Thanks.
In addition, I am wondering if this IMAQdx can configure this camcorder from the error.

  • USB camera "could not be initialized properly" in vision assistant, error code unknown

    Hi All,
I was working on a project with Labview 2011, and VDM 2014 (vision developement module), and VAS 2014_August (vision aquisition software).
I finished my project well including the use of vision assistant!
but when the temporary licenses expired for the VDM and VAS, then I want to activate the purchased licenses for both of them, I should use the VAS 2014_februar not augest!!!
then I uninstalled the 6 drivers included for the VAS_2014_August IMAQ & IMAQ Runtime, IMAQ I/O and IMAQ I/O Runtime, IMAQdx & IMAQdx Runtime, then installed the VAS_2014_02 February!
but the vision assistant stopped working!
as attached in the files, when I try to aquire an image from there, I get "The specified aquisition device could not be initialize properly"...
and if I am trying to press on grab I get the same!
I tried a lot of things like to remove drivers for the VAS_2014_08 then to install even the 2015 then to uninstall 2015 then to install again 2014 february...
also in the NI MAX I can find the camera and to activate to grab and snap! but not in the vision assistant!
what can you suggest for me as solution?!
    Thanks.

For the past several years, LabVIEW was released in August, with a Service Pack (SP1) released in February.  Thus LabVIEW 2014 was released in August 2014, LabVIEW 2013 was released in August 2013, and LabVIEW 2013 SP1 was released in February 2014.
You cannot depend on the year to know the LabVIEW Version!!
Also, LabVIEW is not really backward-compatible.  If you are doing serious Development work, you want LabVIEW and all of the relevant Toolkits and Modules to be the same Release (e.g. 2011, 2013, or 2014 -- don't "mix and match").  If you have NI Update installed, it should help you "migrate" to Service Pack 1, if necessary.

  • Connecting my ipad mini to my camera using the USB camera kit error message 'device is to powerful' keeps popping up.

I am trying to connect my iPad mini to my Samsung camera using the USB camera kit, I keep getting the error message ' device to powerful'. Is there anyway to fix this or do I need to take it back?? The shop assistant in Currys assured me it should work and it wasn't cheap at £25 for a tiny wire! I have read other posts concerning this but they are dated quite a while ago so just wondered what the newest advice was concerning this. Thanks

The camera is drawing too much power for your iPad. This can happen on cameras which charge their batteries using the USB connection. Make sure that you have the camera set to the correct settings for picture transfer - check the documentation that came with the camera.
Note that you can return the USB kit and get the SD card adaptor or get a powered USB hub if you can't get the camera to work any other way.

  • Lightening to USB camera adapter error

I just bought an iPad air along with the lightening to USB camera adapter. I use a sandisk card reader to upload my photos. When I plug in to the adapter, I receive an error message stating I don't have enough power for this device. I have 97% power so I don't think that's the issue. Any ideas how I can upload my photos?

It's the port USB power, not your iPad battery power. Most card readers don't work, but there may be some that will. Another option is to get a powered USB hub and plug it into the iPad. Then plug your card reader into the hub.

  • How to solve power error when using USB camera adapter in your camera

    Hello Everyone,
First of all I wanna say reducing the output of the USB camera adapter from 100mA to 20mA just to save battery life is by far the most incredible adjustment in the history of @)#*$#%*($#!
I know most of us bought the USB Camera adapter so we can use it as a USB adapter for the Camera (saves us from taking the memory card on and off the camera) but sadly the "Ginues Apple" reduced it to 20mA which decreases the range of cameras and flash drives that will work with it. I use Gopro Hero 3+ black and everytime I plug it with the adapter to my ipad I keep on seeing this @#@$#@ power error. I didn't want to waste the expensive adapter so I tried to look for a micro sd card reader but I don't think 20mA readers still exist.
Now to solve this problem is very simple add a power source to help that 20mA up, most of the my friends bought a powered port hub but it's not my type because it's bulky, needs an outlet and not portable.
So I found a better solution on how you can add a power source and still be portable, the answer is power bank or portable charger.
    Things you need:
    Camera
USB camera adapter (Ginues Apple product)
Power bank (I'm using 8,400 mAh)
Dual USB Male to 5 Pin Mini USB Y Cable
    Ipad
    Procedure:
Camera --- 5 Pin Mini USB ------------------ USB camera adapter ---------- Ipad
                                                   '---------- Power Bank
Attach you camera to the 5 pin mini usb then the USB1 male to the female apple's USB camera adapter then to the Ipad. = this will show the power error.
Then attach the USB2 to the power bank/portable charger to power it up.
    your welcome

  • USB camera problem - Error -2147024882 occurred at IMAQdx Open Camera.vi

    Hi,
I have just started to try and use a new USB camera (5MP) on LabVIEW and I am getting this error (Error -2147024882 occurred at IMAQdx Open Camera.vi) along with the message
LabVIEW:  (Hex 0x8007000E) Ran out of memory.
    =========================
NI System Configuration:  (Hex 0x8007000E) Out of memory.
Also MAX comes up with the error "0x8007000E Buffer size used is too small for minimum aquisition frame"
Is there a maximum camera resolution that MAX/LabVIEW can handle? Can I increase this buffer size?
I am using LabVIEW 2012 and MAX 5.5 on Windows 7 and the original MS LifeCam is working fine.
    Thanks in advance
    Ivan

    Hi IvanChurch,
-I've used your code and it's working fine in my pc.I was able to capture image using webcam. Seems no problem in this, still added delay in while to ensure proper delay is given for pc.
-Little bit of curious about your system config, particularly RAM size and free available during labview execution (can find this in Task Manager). Because if labview didn't have any free space during execution, it might be throwing this error.
-If the available free space is too low during execution, may be try clsong all other applications and try acquiring again.
Please revert back if the problem is not fixed
    Thanks

  • Get an image from USB cam without NI VIsion Acquisition

    HI
I am looking for a way to capture images from USB cam without using a paid library ImaxDx for Labview.
    Have you any ideas?

    Hello MaxEngee
Off hand, I suppose you could run the third party capture software in the background and have a LabVIEW scan the target directy for changes/new images and import the image as necessary.
In the mean time, if you install the NI Vision Acquisition Software, you do have a 30-day trial period so perhaps you may consider exploring the environment to see if it is right for you.

  • LabVIEW vision module w/ usb camera

I've got LabVIEW 2009 and the Vision Assistant 8.6 and am trying to coordinate them with a usb camera for motion tracking. Eventually I want to be able to track motion at several locations on a glass plate, but currently I'm having difficulty understanding how the Vision Assistant and LabVIEW are supposed to interact. I can take input with Vision Assistant and see from the camera, but I can't perform any of Vision Assistant's functions on the image. Also, I don't think I have a LabVIEW VI for initializing up a USB camera to use with the IMAQ functions. How should I do this?
Using LabVIEW 2009 on Windows Vista

    Hi dlg,
There are some great examples in the NI Example Finder (in LabVIEW go to Help >> Find Examples...) that are simple enough to start with.  The basic concept you need to understand the HL Snap.vior HL Grab.vi examples is that you "open, do-something, close".  The more complicated your code, the more extensive the "do-something" is.  However, the same process applies.  The other thing that is important to know is that the Create IMAQ.vi creates a buffer in which to store the image temporarily from the camera.  You then pass a reference to this buffer (the purple wire at the top of the subVIs) to process the image in a later step, if desired, or display the image on the front panel.
     I hope this helps!

  • How can I use a USB camera with cRIO 9022. Please see my strange problem.

    Hi,
I would like to use a USB camera with NI cRIO 9022. I used the same USB camera with NI USB 6216 DAQ device and developed a VI(within a PROJECT and outside it). So, It is working fine with NI USB 6216 device when I use the Vision Assistant Express VI and gets detected in its Initialization Window.  Please see JPEG File 3 where I get NO ERROR.
I am facing a problem when I want to use it with NI cRIO 9022. What exactly I am doing in this case is:
    1) Create a NEW PROJECT
    2) Add Targets and Devices(NI cRIO 9022)
    3) Use the Scan Interface mode
    4) Create a NEW VI under the cRIO 9022 device
    5) Use a Timed Loop(Synchronized with Scan Engine) for continuous Data Acquisition and Sending from the Analog I/O modules.
    6) Use the Vision Assistant available through the NI Vision Acquisition 2010 Module(I get STUCK HERE! The Express VI opens the Initialization Window, but I don't see the USB camera like in JPEG File 3)
I am facing difficulties with this HOST COMPUTER, cRIO implementation differences. On my host computer I have the software packages as shown in JPEG File 1, and on my cRIO 9022 as shown in JPEG File 2.
Can someone guide me how to overcome this and get the USB camera detected when I am using NI cRIO 9022?

When you select My Computer, you are running the program on the PC.  In this case, the camera works because it is connected to the PC.  The scan engine doesn't work because it needs to run on the cRIO, not the PC.
When you create the program on the cRIO, you can use the scan engine because the program is on the cRIO.  You can't use the camera because it is back on the PC, and can't be found on the cRIO.
The project is a wonderful tool, but it may be making the programming seem too simple.  It may not be clear to you that by moving a program to a different location (PC or cRIO), it is running in an entirely different environment on a totally different machine, even though it is just a little further down in the project.  You can't easily access the hardware on one machine while running the program on the other.
So the summary is:  The camera is attached to the PC.  The scan engine runs on the cRIO.  Never the twain shall meet.
