VISTA 32 BIT DRIVERS

Okay, i have purchased Vista Home Premium SP1 32 Bit. I will install it later, but i would like to know if there are any other drivers that i need to install besides the drivers included in the OS X installation disc. I have a 15.4" 2.4GHz MacBook Pro with NVIDIA 8600 GT 256MB graphics card and 4GB RAM with a 160GB 5600rpm HDD. I have read that you need to install the latest drivers for my graphics card and i understand that.
1.) What other drivers do i need besides the graphics card drivers?
2.) Can i download them and put them on a flash drive and upload them to my Windows OS
P.S. one more question:
3.) Do i need to download DirectX9 for my 32 bit OS from the internet running Windows, or can I download the setup and put it on my flashdrive and transfer it. Also, can i download DirectX10 on my 32 bit? or is that just for 64bit? Or, better yet, does DirectX even need to be downloaded onto my new OS??
THANKS SO MUCH!
cheers

Well, the Mac OS install disk includes all the drivers you need for all the hardware you have. You don't need to download anything separately.
You don't need to download Direct X. Direct X 10 comes with Vista.

I just bought 4bg RAM for my santa rosa macbook pro and would like to install the 64-bit version of either xp or vista to take advantage of the added RAM. Does anyone know the status of the 64-bit drivers for macbook pro's? if apple hasn't released them, i can probably download them from intel's site. what kind of mobo, audio, lan, etc. does a 2.2ghz macbook pro have?

This should help - it helped me

I am running a full 64-bit Vista Ultimate on this MBP (S-R)
I installed it via BC1.3b and Tiger and got it working by downloading these drivers. Actually only the networking was not initially working.
I am now using Leopard and "upgraded" the drivers with the Leopard DVD. I did not notice any difference but I suspect that Vista ignored any driver that was inappropriate, so AFAIK, it's still 100% 64-bit, and it runs like a charm.
Is it just good Karma? But I have had none of the problems others seem to have, either with Leopard, BootCamp or Vista. Some minor "glitches" that we all expect. Safari used to crash in Tiger, so what's new?
Any other questions, let me know. I'll check back.

  • Where can I find Vista 64-Bit drivers for the Satellite A100-049?

I currently run Vista Home Premium SP1 32-Bit and do so because there appears to only be 32-Bit drivers on Tosiba's website:
    [http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?macId=&mode=allMachines&userOS=& action=search&selCategory=2&selFamily=2&selSeries= 153&selProduct=700&selOS=2]
Where can I find Vista 64-Bit drivers for the Toshiba Satellite A100-049?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
That's rubbish. Vista 64-bit runs fine with 2Gb and my laptop supports up to 4Gb.
We'll never move on to 64-Bit if companies don't provide drivers.
I'll look at those sites. I've had trouble installing nVidia drivers from nVidia website.
I have to use the one provided by Toshiba.
Hopefully I won't find this when trying 64-Bit. My plan is to go 64-Bit with Windows 7 so no rush just yet.
As I understand it Vista drivers will work with Windows 7.
Thankfully when I reinstalled Vista 32-Bit not long ago using an OEM from Technet I only need 2-3 drivers from Toshiba website, most of it they give to download you don't need at all.
    Thanks again.
p.s - They do offer 64-Bit drivers for my network card though.

    Hi,
I have Satalite A300D-15B AMB 64-bit notebook with Vista 64-bit installed. After I have installed Vista, it automatically took the audio drivers for sound card, but Dolby didn't work.
I tried to install the drivers from toshiba, it fails.
Can someone guide me how to install the Vista 64-bit drivers for Conexant High Definition Audio please......
    regards,
    Ganesh

    Hello Ganesh
Sorry but this notebook model is not supported for Vista 64-bit and I don't know what driver installation are you writing about.
What you can try is to download and install THIS driver.
This is driver for Satellite A300 but this notebook has the same sound card as your Satellite A300D - Conexant CX20561.
    Please post the results.

  • Satellite Pro A300-1NT - need Vista 64-Bit drivers

    Hello,
I bought the notebook Toshiba Satellite A300-1NT which came with Windows Vista 32-Bit pre installed and an XP Recovery Disc.
I bought the Vista 64-Bit Edition but I didn't find any drivers for Vista 64-bit on your website though it is 64-bit compatible.
How can I get them ?

    Hi
It looks like the Vista 64bit drivers for A300 series are not available on the Toshiba European driver page at this time.
    Therefore youve got two possibilities;
Either you will wait till such drivers will be released on the driver website or you will try to collect such drivers at your own hand.
You could search and try for example such single drivers released for another notebook series and could search also on website from chip manufacturers like Intel, Realtek, etc
    Bye

  • Anybody found Vista x64 drivers for nVidia GeForce 8600M GT (Macbook Pro)?

These guys at Apple are launching 64-bit Leopard and I still cannot find 64-bit graphics drivers for my laptop under Vista. It makes me sick. Their Boot Camp 1.4 vesion contains only 32-bit drivers.
It's the laptop manufacturer (Apple company) who are responsible for providing me with drivers, not the graphics card manufacturer (nVidia).
I have been waiting for 5 months already and will wait for another 1-2 months and if the drivers don't appear I'm going to sell the laptop because I simply cannot watch DVDs, I cannot play games without properly installed grahics card.
If you have the drivers, please let me know.
    Best regards.

first of all, I think apple will never really "support" windows 64bit...
    anyway
    try -> http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
my vista 32bit works with the drivers from this page.
but u need to read the "Quickstart Guide" before you try installing the drivers

  • WinXP 64 Bit Drivers for T61 Thinkpad (7661-G28)

I installed Vista64 on an additional drive and was constantly running into application crashes as well as what apppears to be system pauses when a window was in focus.   Things just froze and if you brought up task manager they would start responding again.  I installed windows Vista Ultimate (SP1) for this. I was trying to take advantage of all my memory in the system 4GB brecause I am trying to setup a demo disk with Virtual Workstation so I need the memory for the virtual environment.
Anyway I gave up (after learning about how to remove the new Vista boot loader on a dual boot machine) and decided to go back to 64 bit XP to get a stable system.  The problem with this is of course the lack of driver support for 64 bit XP on thinkpads.  I have read  most of the posts in the forum on 64 bit options for XP and I have tried all of the suggestions for them.  I still do not have but one drivers active.  I was able to get the Ethernet driver working but still can not load the wireless (4965AG), audio(SoundMax Digital HD AUdio), SM Driver, or video (Intel 965 Chipset) drivers.  Has anyone had any luck with a model T61 and 64 bit drivers for Windows XP(64)?
    Any help is appreciated.

i've never tried before but my personal opinion, it won't work.

  • Windows 8/8.1 32/64 bit Drivers for Satellite P100/P105 Users

I made an original post with my now ancient Satellite P105-S9722 back in 2009 & 2011 for Windows 7 64-bit drivers. Windows 7 Drivers for P100/105 Systems
Now that I have newer systems, I have experimented loading Windows 8 & 8.1 in my P105-S 9722 system.  Wanted to share some observations and any issues I came across.
I have listed here some basic drivers you can use for your P100/P105 systems for Windows 8 and 8.1 and 32/64-bit to work.  Many of these listed are from other users, but there may be some additional drivers many may not know about.  I can't guarantee that all of these will make your system work 100%, but hopefully this will make your upgrade just a little quicker & easier.
Before using these driver, I recommend you do a fresh install of Windows 8 or 8.1 32 or 64-bit regardless if you are using XP, Vista or 7 32 or 64-bit systems.
Now I did use an installation DVD instead of a flash drive since you may need to add additional features to make certain programs work.
After installing the Operating System (OS), immediately go to Programs and Features in Control Panel .  Make sure to turn on the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0).  You will need this to install some of the Toshiba utilities.
Many of the native drivers for Windows 8 & 8.1 will automatically be installed.  The wifi driver should work.  I am using a Sparklan GN-WS30N 802.11n using Ralink RT2860 chipset that works in 8 & 8.1.
SOUND CARD: The biggest issue of Windows 8 & 8.1 32/64-bit is that there is no sound.  The old Audio 4.8.0.0 driver is the only driver that still works in Windows 8 & 8.1.  There are much newer versions, but for some reason, the old driver works the best.
    1) Download the driver.
    2) right click the file to extract it to a folder of the same name (do not double-click as the automatic installation will fail)
    3) double-click on folder Audio4.8.0.0, then double-click again on subfolder Audio4.8.0.0 if present
    4) double-click on folder BD1-BH1
    5) double-click on folder VXP64
    6) recommend to double-click on file BD16HAa.inf to check if your sound Hardware ID is listed under [Conexant.NTAMD64], should be HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_1179FF31
    7) close BD16HAa.inf file if opened in step 6, then simply double-click Setup64.exe
    8) restart system (although audio may work right away, always a good idea)
See Audio 4.8.8.0.zip Download on Bottom of post
SYNAPTIC TOUCHPAD:  If your P100/P105 has a dual Synaptic touchpad like mine, the driver does work in WIndows 8/8.1, BUT you still need the utility to make it work.
    Download: Toshiba Touchpad
Here's the thing with the Toshiba file, when you save it or run it, it unzips the folder into the TEMP folder.  When you go to run it, the main setup will work.  In case the autorun does not work, here's what you need to do:
    1) Change you folder selection so you can show hidden folders & files
    2) After unzipping the file, open C:\Users\"YOURNAME"\AppData\Local\Temp\Synantec Touchpad.temp
    3) Click on "Setup" icon to run the file. (This file worked just fine on my P105-S9722 machine)
PCMCIA/Express Card/SD (TI) CARD READER - This driver will allow the PCMCIA, Express Card & SD Readers work normally on Windows 8/8.1.
There is issue with the Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller.  I did find a driver the does work:
Download: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated Flashmedia Controller
Nvidia Video Card - After loading the OS, the maximum resolution on the native drivers is only 1024 X 768.  In order to get the maximum resolution of 1440 X 900, a NVidia driver is required.
    Download: Nvidia GeForce Release 179
Once this is loaded, use Windows Updates to download the most recent drivers.  Windows 8.1 definitely has a newer driver.  It is a good idea to download the NVidia GeForce Experience so that newer drivers can be installed: Nvidia GeForce Experience
Fingerprint Reader (Biometrics Devices) - The Upek driver only goes up to Windows 7, but Windows 8/8.1 does have a native driver through AuthenTec that does work.  The Toshiba fingerprint utility will be needed in order to user the fingerprint reader.  The Toshiba Utility can be downloaded here:
    Upek Fingerprint Driver 5.8.0.4024
The utility should work with the native driver.
That's pretty much it for the basic drivers.  I did not include LAN or Wireless Drivers.
Finally make sure the most recent Bios are installed v4.70: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/sp100v470.exe
There are attachments and links, but let me know if anyone is not able to download or use any of these links posted.
Current Issues & Observations:  After I shut the computer down, when I open the screen, the computer automatically turn on.  I haven't figured that out yet, but I'm sure I'll post a fix in the near future.  The computer definitely boots much faster compared to Windows 7 and I've upgraded the older spinner drive with a Sata III SSD Drive.  Even with only 4GB of memory and the first generation Duo Core processor, P105-S9722 is still running well.
I may do another post if I decide to try out WIndows 10, but for now, it's nice to know that even though the old P100/P105 systems do not support anything over Windows Vista, we can use the contempory software on a system almost 10 years old.
    Good luck.

  • When the Hell are the 64-bit drivers really comming out?!!!

What is it going to take to get this company to wake up?!!! On this board alone there are hundreds of postings from angry customers wondering when creative is going to provide 64-bit drivers... It's obvious that the posting on FAQ's for Win XP Pro x64 and expected driver release dates are a diversionary tactic. You can't even get a customer representative on the phone and just to find the phone number you have to perform a WhoIs on the main website. I'm thinking of contacting the press concerning false adverti*****t, just to see who bites. Considering there are litterally millions of forums, that can be found using a simple google search, from Creative customers irked by a lack of support from this company, I feel confidant that someone will make a preliminary investigation into this companies piss poor support. Anyone got a better idea as to how to spur this company to wake up? Do you feel as I do that it'll take bad press to move this lethargic giant?

    Catherina-CL wrote:
    Irked_Customer,
The box for the product does not list WindowsXP 64-bit support, so this is not false advertising.
The contact numbers for Customer Support are in the manual on the installation CD. The details Customer Support have for planned driver support are in the chart/matrix on the website.
    Cat
    Catherina,
That is TECHNICALLY correct once again, however, those boxes also DO NOT list MS Vista, x86 or x64, support as well, but CL is supposedly working on drivers for THOSE OS's as I type, isn't it's Of course, the current camera offerings for Vista are marked as TBA, but this bolsters the theories I posted here:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...e.id=630#M630?
Nevertheless, here is the latest chart from the Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - Driver Availability Chart, as of my posting now:
    Cameras
    Product Plan
    WebCam Live! Driver Available
WebCam Live! Ultra Notebook Quarter 3 2006
WebCam Live! Ultra Quarter 3 2006
WebCam Live! Pro Quarter 2 2006
WebCam Live! Motion Quarter 2 2006
WebCam Live! Effects Quarter 3 2006
    WebCam Vista/NX No development planned
    WebCam Instant Driver Available
Further, when entering x64 in the CL Knowledge Base Search, both MS Vista and Windows XP Pro x64 are the top two entries in the search return and, again, TBA is marked for Vista, but drivers for XP Pro x64 promised on CL website stating Q4-2005, Q-2006, Q2-2006, and now Q3-2006. In fact, the last time I called support, and then E-mailed both CL Support and the Driver team and asked about such and then complained to CL about the empty promise, the driver posting was changed within a week of my complaint to Q3-2006. Therefore, you see Catherina-CL, your response, which BTW, IMO is extremely insulting, will not hold water.
Since you seem to be able to get the Vista folks some answers and even links it seems to drivers, how about helping those of us who are using a VALID, LEGITIMATE and FULLY released OS and answer us honestly about drivers for MS Windows XP Pro x64?

  • 64 bit drivers for windows 7?

    hey guys.
i want to install windows 7 64-bit on my macbook pro 17", i am familiar with the install process. but i need to know whether or not there is a 64-bit drivers available for windows 7?
about 2 years ago or so i installed windows vista 64-bit but only to found out later there is no 64-bit drivers supported by apple (only 32-bit).

You would have found that you can back then just copy the whole package into a folder and use /Apple/Drivers/BootCamp64 and that is true still today on "unsupported by 64-bit" Macs.
BC 3.1 on 2006 Mac Pro is a big BSOD PITA so if something does work, use that.
Disable (rename) AppleHFS and AppleMNT to disable the HFS feature though as one source of BSODs.
Apple has a list of what Macs are not supported by Windows 7, another list of Vista 64-bit that are supported. Take all of it with a grain of salt (and shot of tequila).

  • I've been using Windows 7 64bit with Vista 64bit drivers. Driver upgrade?

I have been using Windows 7 pro 64 on my intel iMac (supported under new bootcamp conditions) with Vista 64bit drivers. I used the following command to pull the drivers off my snow leopard disk:
    D:
    cd “Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple”
    msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi
This has been working fine although I am running into problems as alot of applications think I am actually running Vista 64. I now want to use the official Windows 7 drivers. I cannot install bootcamp 3.1. I run it, restart as prompted and still end with 3.0 and apple update telling me to upgrade to 3.1.
Will I be able to simply upgrade my drivers if I get bc 3.1 installed and why can't I do so?
    Any help very much appriciated

I suspect the applications you are running aren't Windows 7 aware.
Apple's drivers are just motherboard related and don't affect Windows.
Plus, most Vista drivers are fine and you will see "Vista/7" for many like RealTek and others. You just need to be sure to use 64-bit drivers.
There are "tons" of threads on BC 3.1 and trouble installing and upgrading - whether to uninstall 2.x first and then go to 3.0 (req'd before 3.1).
I'd say 2.x as well as 3.0 are not Windows 7 compatible according to Microsoft as well as Apple's statements to that effect.

  • Audigy 2 ZS and Vista - updated drivers, now no sound

I was running Windows XP Pro and updated to Vista Home Premium. I installed the Audigy 2 ZS Vista beta drivers and the sound worked fine. I recently downloaded the new drivers (SBAXVSD_PCDRV_LB_2_2_0002) and now I have no sound Everything seems find in the control panel, no conflicts, it says the sound card is working, but the speaker icon in the system tray has a little red X on it and claims that there is no audio device installed. I have tried reinstalling the beta drivers, but they no longer work. I've tried several complete driver deletes and reinstalls, no joy.... Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution?

A little bit off topic here, but 64bit does not mean more performance at all lol.
Sure, but there are in some cases drastic performence diferences. Under a fresh installed Vista X64 i have less CPU usage, as under 32 bit. But of course X64 uses more RAM (some tasks are double 32 and 64 bit). But the main reason I have more performence is, that the games I often play, get almost a boost. Dont ask me why, but under 64 bit EAW and FOC have the same FPS as under 32 bit. But under X64 I use a bit more Details and a higher resolution. (both are 32 bit games, so its a bit funy )?______________________?Sure there are other ways to install the drivers. But if some Setup dosent work, the first thing I try is to get it via Divice Management. And as this worked for me, I dont waste time to try other methods (Had bad experience, you can break the driver faster than install it *G*)?______________________?Some Questions I have left (after a few hours undr X64 with Creative Drivers):?Could it be, that the driver causes sometimes havy CPU usage?Could it also be, that the driver causes some lags, after you copy a file (the end sound, copy is finihed, but takes more time for "final finish", than without the drivers) - I know that Vista has some problems, on some PCs with copy, and that MS has an inoficial Patch (but dosent help for my PC so far)

  • Crystal Server 2011 "Failed to open the connection" with 32 & 64 bit drivers are loaded

Brand new installation of Crystal Reports Server 2011 with CR Developer 2011 as well.  Downloaded new Postgres and MySQL drivers for both the 32 and 64 bit ODBC definitions.  Created a new report on the server to eliminate any migration driver incompatibility issues.  Reports run fine in Developer but give the same "Failed to open the connection."
and still problems running the reports  If I Save Data with the reports, I can click View to see the data, but they will not refresh.
All the articles I'm finding online seem to point to the issue with needing 32 & 64 bit drivers, but I've loaded both and built my ODBC connections with the 32 drivers in the SysWOW64 folder.
Logged in as Administrator.  Any thoughts out there?  Are there some new security measures?
    Thanks in advance ...

Yes, Designer and CRS are on the same machine.
Good catch with the 5.1 driver.  I loaded up the mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.13-win32 driver and used that.  It alone failed when I made the ODBC connection with it.  I see on the CRS 2011 Feature Pack 3 .pdf file that it says "Only 64-bit database connector middleware is supported" ... I downloaded the other mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.13-winx64 64bit file, but teh .msi and .zip versions failed on the load.  Do I need that if it says that or should the first one be enough?
I've been trying to use a normal User DSN, no?  Apparently I don't have access as a machine Administrator to do it as I get "You are logged on with non-Administrative privileges.  System DSNs could not be created or modified."  Having our server guys get that straightened out and we'll see.  Had not heard of that actually but will give it a go.
You say I should create the DSN entries in the 64 bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator ... located in the system32 folder, not the SysWOW64 folder, where the 32 bit drivers are found, yes?  Isn't that the "wrong" location to use I've been reading?  Or are System DSNs different from a User DSN?
BIG thanks for the replies.  I owe you beers!!!!!

    Hello HP,
Will you be releasing 64-bit drivers for the ScanJet 6200c?
    Regards, Dean.

Vuescan worked beautifully and without a hitch on Window 7 64 Home Premium.
The price was $39.99. It provided integration with my apps such as Word 2003, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and others.
    The Vuescan interface is acceptable.
Definitely my pick over yet another uncessary hardware purchase.
