Vista 32bit driver won't install on Vista 32bit, but older XP driver wil
So I keep getting this error,

It's weird, as I can install older drivers in Vista, just not Vista drivers. Oh the irony!
Any ideas?
I don't have the driver for the onboard sound installed, so that's not an issue.
Currently using WinXP 32bit driver, but in order to us ALchemy I need newer drivers.

I'm just getting into the Application model in SCCM 2012 R2 and I like what I see so far, but i'm running into an issue. When i set up an Application for WMF 3.0 with a prerequisite of .Net 4.0 and deploy it to a set of test systems that do not have
any maintenance windows applied to it, it works great. If it doesn't have .Net 4.0 it installs both that and WMF 3.0 and reboots. If it already has .Net 4.0, it will skip that and just install WMF 3.0 and reboot.
However, if i deploy it to systems that have a maintenance window applied, the application recognizes that it needs .Net and WMF 3.0 or just WMF 3.0, but it never actually runs.
Here is the applicable entry from the appintenteval.log, and i've bolded the line where it shows that WMF 3.0 is not installed

I've done a little more experimenting. I've changed my maintenance window back to 30 minutes. Prior to the MW opening, i'll run an application evaluation deployment cycle on the system. It will show the system as required WMF 3.0 but since
the MW isn't open, it won't install at the time.
When the MW opens, i'll watch the ServiceWindowManager.log and it sees that it's a 30 minute MW and that the run time is 15 minutes but it still says the program can't run:

This is not the behavior i would expect. I would think that if the client knows it has a pending application deployment that is required, when the MW opened up, it would start the install immediately or close to the beginning of the MW. It shouldn't
need to have an application evaluation deployment cycle kicked off during the MW. -
Adobe In Design CC 2014 won't install on a PC but it will on another.
I have a user who I'm trying to deploy a new laptop for. I am installing Adobe In Design CC 2014 but early in the install it just suddenly quits. I can install the software on my own PC with no problem both are running Windows 7 64 bit. Any ideas?

Have you completed the pre-requisites for installation? This includes granting some privileges to the repository owner, and making sure that you have installed an Oracle client (in a separate Oracle Home) that corresponds with your database. You have to set some Windows registry variables to point at a version of EXP and IMP that matches your database. The Repository Administration Utility has a module that checks to make sure these requirements have been met. Also, step by step instructions have been published in this forum several times. Palm TX Driver Won't Install on Vista Computer - Solved!
Hi, folks--the posters on this site have been enormously helpful to me. And now I can post something that may be helpful to others.
I installed the Palm Desktop 6.2 Beta on my Vista machine and couldn't get the Palm TX hardware driver to install properly. I'd uninstalled, installed, uninstalled, etc. The error messages I was getting was:
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45), or
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
It turns out that I needed the Vista Hotfix KB936003. This is a cumulative update that updates Vista's USB core components. I had no problems syncing after installing this update. The update must be requested from Microsoft. Here's the link to MS's page about this update:

I have photoshop 6 on a dead pc laptop with windows XP. Have a pc laptop that has been upgraded from Vista 64 bit (where phootshop 6 wouldn't install) to windows 7 professional 32 bit (clean install). Photoshop still won't install. Also having reinstallation issues with pse6 on this same pc. Pse6 was installed and working on vista 64bit version of the OS, now won't install on rebuilt windows professional 7 32bit (keeps giving me serial number not valid errors). I'm not trying to pirate these programs. Just want to reinstall them.

While some might consider me "lucky," I don't believe i luck. I have had no problems with any of my three Macs which now all run Leopard. My two MBPs were updated, not even an archive and install and they both run fine, as does my old G5.
I installed XP-Pro on my 32-bit MBP when I first got it using BootCamp1.0, beta.
I installed Vista Ult 64-bit on his MBP also under a beta version of BC, 1.2, I believe.
All the Leopards are up to date, as are my Winders OSs. I finished updating this MBP to SP1 this morning. I have never had any problem, issue or anything I would consider serious. I did have the problem some have noted with Leopard, that the WiFI modem would turn off when not used, but that was not a Leopard issue, it was a firmware issue with my Westell modem, which works fine now that I upgraded its firmware.
As of now, I have nothing but praise for both Apple and, yes, Microsoft.
I learned long ago, that when you get down the the processor, it's all the same 1's and 0's
I do research things quite well before actually committing myself, but that should be normal for everyone. Even a daredevil driver or stuntman carefully plans what he does, although it looks as if it's spontaneous.
I use computers for business and pleasure and I need them as tools. I do not fool around with strange software or unplanned updates. So far, that has paid off. -
P6N Diamond - Vista/XP won't install.
I have Vista Home Premium x64 and I went to install for testing before I registered it. I then see I can install any version of Vista, so I decide to try Vista Ultimate to see how different it is from Home Premium. Anyway, the trial period for Ultimate expired and I can't seem to install Winodws at all now, not even XP. Vista just sits at the device screen and shows no drives at all and I try to load drivers and still nothing. I even tried turning on RAID with no help. I have used the drivers from MSI's website as well as nvidia's and nothing.
When I try XP though, it BSOD and locks up completely just as it goes into the first page of installation after setup has loaded drivers and such. I ran chkdsk /f and reset BIOS and nothing helps. I can still log into my expired Vista install just fine and vista see it there and all is fine in the BIOS as well. I even grabbed another HD with same issues.
I find it very strange Windows boots up on the drive, but won't install to it?
I just looked at MSI's website and 3.1 is still the current BIOS. Did MSI completely dumps this board? It's been almost a full year since the last BIOS was released and nvidia has released several fixes to the BIOS since, so I know there are available patches to install. I sure hope they plan to provide support for this flagship motherboard when it was released, I mean they provided like 3-4 months of support and then dump it?

Intel Pentium D 925+ on MSI 975X Platinum v1, won't install Vista
I have this 2 components - Intel Pentium D 925+ on MSI 975X Platinum v1 - and a licenced Vista Ultimate won't install with them. I had first an Intel Pentium 4 640 and worked great. Than I've changed the CPU to Intel Pentium D 925+. When I first boot in Vista it hanged the system during the green bar sliding. Changed to XP, worked just fine. Tried again to install Vista, after booting from DVD and loading the files needed, the green bar goes again and after 2-3 passes it hanged again. I found that there is the latest bios available 1.4 and made an bios update... Then I retried to install vista.. It worked just fine... Decompressed the files, copied them onto hard drive, and after the first restart , when the screen appears again on installing and says "Completeing installation ..." it hangs again. I just can't pass this phase no matter what I do and tried to install about... 30 times, every install being a clean install, formatting the hard drive. Every single time it hangs just there. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
I've found the problem if anyone is interesting in knowing it and if maybe someone is having the same problem as me.... just disable EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology) from bios and it will work smooth. Oh PS, and if Vista isn't ment for public use then why was it released by Microsoft in so many versions even a home version? Do you even know what you're saying with that affirmation? Or you're just a end user that is just too lasy to try understanding Vista or even learning where these operating systems are going to? Saying that if it works just fine on XP why should I install Vista...???????

Latest version of Itunes 7.4.2 has been installed, unfortunately Windows Vista has located Ipod mini in "other devices" in "Device Manager", but it won't install the Ipod. I've reinstalled Iteune three times and searched the Windows Vista disk, but with no luck.
I'm on the verge of selling the ipod - any advice would be welcome.

I think you mean Photoshop CS2. Photoshop 2 is from around 1992. The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

Purchased XFI extreme audio PCIe for someone and it won't install on vista 32
The hardware isn't detected and thus cannot be installed. I had the same problem with my fatality titanium but at least there was a patch download for windows 7 so the card can be detected. No such patch exists for the extreme audio PCIe which means the card won't install under windows vista or windows 7.
Am I missing something or what? I have read other similar complaints about this particular XFI.EUREKA!
Reading the bowls of the post just below, It said to make sure shockwave was enabled. It wasn't!! I enabaled it and tried my web sites and things worked fine.

Reader 8.1.2 won't install on Vista

I can not get 8.1.2 to install on Vista. When I run the download I get a window asking permission to continue. When I tell it to go ahead I get the little twirling circle (that replaces the old hour glass) for a few seconds then it dissappears and that's it. No popups, no message windows, no error messages, Nothing.
I've tried inactivating the UAC, virus protection, clearing the transaction log, running as administrator on top of being in an admin account.
The same download installed with no problems on my laptop ( which also runs Vista Home Premium ).
At this point I've loaded 7.0 and it's running fine; at least so far.
There have been several posts about problems after installing 8.1.2 but I have not been able to get that far.
I'd be greatfull for any suggestions ----- and ecstatic for a solution.
ThanksI regret the moment I thought that installing Adobe reader 812.I had had a blissful relationship with all previous versions and apart from the interfering busybody (ie account control) giving me dire warnings about known compatibility problems - which ive not had - all was fine ; until I tried to download and install 812.I have had the same experience as others with the processgoing smoothly.However,each time ive ried to use it sends a record up with the message "invalid plugin detected adobe willcease workining.I disabled the plug ins and still he is on strike.Indeed,On one occasion I think he must have had his militant friends round as not onlydid he refuse to work but my whole system refused to work and I ended up having to disconnect the power.I would have made him redundant but I had already sacked his predecessor.I suppose I could try to tempt him back with higher wages but the real issue is that the longer people carry on using older versiond the more likely it is that version 7 will fall in with the wrong crowd and be a likely candidate for corruption.(why did he have a copy of woodworker monthly and has been talking to fellow conspirators about wooden ponys?).You have to retain a sense of humour but to end on a serious note - if solution is not found soon I can envisage the trial seperation becoming a permanent divorce!

ITunes 8.1 won't install on Vista after uninstall
So I was trying to update my itunes and kept getting errors. I went on to uninstall it and reinstall which normally works. But this time around, I got some error messages and it won't install.
When it is installing, I get this message:
"An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Schemas\iCal.syncshema\Contents\Resources\da.lproj"
I select retry in the window and it still doesn't work so I press cancel. Then it continues and terminates the install with this message:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330."
It then proceeded to install quicktime with no problems so I'm quite puzzled on what I can do here. I just want to listen to music and my podcasts! If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated. I've looked through the forum and support things so I need some more guidance.
