Vista 5242 audigy 4 wont install drivers

I have windows vista build 5342 on my desktop which currently has an internal pci audigy 4 card...i installed the "SBAX_PCDVTBETA_US_2_08_0002" driver creative has put out for such audio cards. After i installed, i restarted, and still no audio card installed!! is there something im missing? PLEASE HELP!!!

I've just spent the last 3 days trying to get some kind of sound out of my SB live 24 on build 5384. Nothing! I've tried every conceivable combination of drivers (including the old '05 vista drivers) and still nothing. Now Vista is in an endless loop of booting and "installing device drivers" until it finds nothing and gives up until next boot. Infuriating. Part of the beta process is to see what works and doesn't work on Vista. Well, we know SB's don't work.

  • Vista Service Pack 1 wont install. Update keeps asking for it.

Installed Service Pack 1 with Windows Update. Update History says it was successful but it is not in the Installed Updates and Windows keeps asking for SP1 over and over. Vista SP3 is there.
I have tried to install it directly, I closed all security programs and fire wall. I looked to see if there is any missing updates. I've restarted the computer. I have followed all the instructions on the support site.
    Service Pack 3 is installed.
I just don't know what to do.
I have Vista Home Premium 32bit

    Hi
To be honest I never had any problems with my Vista updates
The Vista updates automatically every time when Im online and when new updates are available
How did you try to update the Vista OS?
Did you download the SP1 firstly to HDD or did you run an automatic update?
If the automatic update does not work try to download the SP1 firstly and then start the update procedure:
The SP1 can be downloaded here:

  • Windows Vista wont install Ipod drivers

    OK I NEED HELP....
I have Windows Vista and I am trying to install my iPod Nano, but everytime I plug my iPod in it ask me to insert the CD that came with it. As I don't have a CD I just click to install drivers automatically. Than it gives me an error saying 'unable to install drivers'. The divers do show up in the device manger under- other devices but there is a little warning sign next to it. So I right click on it and update driver, which it then tells me that it can't update driver. I have the latest version on iTunes and Quicktime, and I have also done a restore on my pc. Spoken to Apple 4 times!!! got no where with them. My iPod works fine on Windows XP machine, but not my Windows Vista. Has anyone else had any troubles with Vista??

I'm not sure my problem with Vista is the same. New computer with Vista, and I'm trying to transfer my library from old computer to new one. I loaded latest version of iTunes. When I put in my apple ID, my acct balance and items in my shopping cart appeared. When I connect my iPod, it is recognized.
I found an article that gave two options for copying library to new computer. One was to use backup discs to RESTORE, and the other was to use the iPod as a hard drive. It says that it will ask if I want to restore when I insert backup disc, but it does not ask. I tried Import, but tht didn't work either. When I connect my iPod, it doesn't copy the contents from there either. It only gives me the option of erasing iPod and loading what is on new library (which is only about 12 songs). I get a msg that I am synced to another library and can only be synced to one. I still got that msg after I deauthorized the old one.
Any suggestions on how to load music onto new library?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Audigy 2 Value Install on Vista... Is it POSSIB

Ok, the Vista drivers that are supposedly for this card, do not detect it. The ONLY way I was able to install drivers for this on Vista was to use the original CD that came with the card. I had to use the XP drivers... OK, fine and dandy. Now, I'm stuck without any software for the card, because the ones on the CD won't work with Vista, and the Vista download will not install either for whatever reason. What gives with this card?

Make sure you download updates for "Audigy 2 Value", not "Audigy 2"; also you will probably need the original installation CD since they're updates.

  • Vista 32 - ipod not recognized, failed to install drivers, disconnecting

    _The problem:_
Ipod in Windows Vista 32 *cannot find/install drivers*. Ipod shows up for couple of seconds and then *automaticaly disconnects*.
    Solution:
i have found solution that worked form me at this site

Thanks to the autor of this article and i hape this helps some of you having the same problem as i had

Can you be specific as to what drivers are not installing? An issue that can be had when doing PNPEnum is that child devices of something that does not have a driver installed are not visible to the PNPEnum. A way to get around that is you can force the
injection of drivers that are not getting installed. Something like you can add a second Inject Driver step but, have it be a selection profile of drivers that always get missed because they are children.

  • Drivers/Utilities CD..XP and VISTA..can I use vista for WIN7 64 bit install?

Drivers/Utilities CD's, that came with the p-35 Motherboard..XP and VISTA..can I use Vista for WIN7 64 bit install, or download the chip set drivers for Awin7 BEFORE the OS install??
    MSI P-35 Platinum
    Q6600 Core 2 Quad
    Presently XP 32Bit
    NVidia geforce 8600GT
    8GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400-800MHz
    Windows 7..waiting to be installed.
    Hello,
I WANT TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL.I have Windows 32 Home XP, I have the Win7 OEM I want to install.
When i bought my MSI mobo, it came with both the drivers and utilities for XP and Vista.   Can I use the chip set drivers and utilities for Vista, until i can go to MSI and download the latest chip set drivers?  When do i install these drivers....before the OS install, or after?
Can I format these drives first, go in the BIOS change to boot sequence from Raptor Boot Drive to the DVD/Rom to boot the WIN7 from, or should I format while installing Win7?
Someone on another forum suggested that 1) disconnect the two droves, then install the OS on the boot drive, and2) before win7 install, make the proposed boot drive (NOT THE DVD/CD ROM the first choice priority for the boot sequence....is this right?
Is it absolutely necessary to unplug the other two drives, while formatting and installing the WIN7 O.S.?  People tell me that there is a chance of the OS installing sometimes on the other drives.
Also, if I want to change the now present boot drive Local disk letter (C) to my storage drive (G) and the other two drive letters, can I do this in manage disks, anytime, or only during windows setup install?
    Thx

I've never had this much trouble hooking up a HDD.
I have two IDE DVD/CD ROMS.  (My RAID MODE was IDE in XP OS, and still is with WIN7.)
           I have three SATA HDD's.
After unplugging the SATA 2TB HDD while I installed the WIN7 OS on the 500 GB HDD (it was on the 74 RAPTOR, but I moved location, and made absolutly sure nothing went on my raptor)
So today I decided to re-hook up the 2TB Storage HDD, and when I did, I went into bios, and to the cell menu, and LOAD ALL DEFAULT SETTINGS, so it could see my newly installed HDD,which I had all my backup Data from the previous HDD. I also checked and the RAID MODE was IDE, and the boot sequence was the WDC 500GB Boot/OS drive, rebooted, then I got that annoying blanked out screen with that blinking cursor, so I got back into the bios, and changed the 1st boot to the IDE Pioneer DVD/CD ROM, 2nd boot to the 500GB HDD, and rebooted again..still got that blinking cursor.
I opened up the Mobo, checked and replugged all SATA, and power cables to the three HDDS, tried it again, then still got the blinking cursor.  Seems no matter what I change in the boot sequence,it never wants to boot properly
    ....AND THEN,
I started with TAB > POST> started WINDOWS, then once it opened up, I went to manage Disks, saw all three HDDs were online and healthy.  Win. Explorer also listed them in that folder, in device manager, it listed all three too.
     The managed window showed this:
    74GB    (system,active,Primary partition)                       Storage
    2TB     (Primary partition)                                           Excessive Storage
500GB  (Boot, page files,crash-Dump, Primary partition)   Operating system
Both the PCI IDE BusMaster and ON-Chip SATA Controller were both ENABLED.
Before I just got online, I tried RESTART, and it opened Windows the usual way,  so I hope I don't have any more problems. It worked fine BEFORE I just plugged in the 2TB HDD back in.
I pretty much did what everyone suggested, except for leaving in the 74GB Raptor when I installed WIN7, which prompted me to format the drive prior to installing the OS.  Also, when I changed the IDE, RAID,and AHC1, to the AHC1 Mode, just before I installed Window7, like a few suggested, I also had problems, so after the install, I went back and changed it back to IDE.  My Floppy was an IDE, but I removed it from my system, and disabled in BIOS, but even a few times I went into Bios and saw that thje floppy was 1st Boot, even though I changed to either the DVD/CD Rom, or the 500GB boot drive.
So what is the preferred boot sequence?

  • Microphone stuttering - Vista x64 & Audigy 2 ZS

    3Microphone stuttering - Vista x64 & Audigy 2 ZS? Hello,
since I've got no reply in the support pack thread, I post this new topic.
There is an issue with the microphone port of the Audigy 2 ZS running on Windows Vista 64-bit (SP2).
Voice input randomly begins to stutter after some uptime and only a restart of the computer temporarily fixes this problem - until the distortion occurs again.
I've tried many different driver versions (including the latest v2.8.000), but nothing changed. It seems only the 64-bit edition of Vista is affected by this.
At last an additional post, quoted from zan2828 in the support pack thread:
    Daniel_K,
Being that you are extremely familiar with Creative's drivers, I figured it would be best to address my question to you.
Are you aware of the microphone robotic voice issue with the Audigy 2 in Vista? I use x64 so I am unsure if this problem exists in 32-bit. Basically, every so often the microphone will stop accepting voice inputs properly, and the resulting output will either be filled with static, or sound like a robot.
The problem exists in voice chat programs (Steam, Ventrilo) and also the Windows Sound Recorder. A reboot will fix it but the problem comes back. A quick "Reset to Defaults" in the Control Panel sound options will sometimes fix it, but not always.
Is there something you can modify in the driver to fix it's If not, do you know exactly what is wrong with the code? If you cannot fix it, hopefully Creative will, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
    Thanks.

Re: Microphone stuttering - Vista x64 & Audigy 2 ZS? About the robotic microphone, and all issues occuring specifically on to x64 Systems:
[url="http://connect.creativelabs.com/windows/Lists/Audigy%20Issues/DispForm.aspx?ID=37&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fconnect.cr eativelabs.com%2Fwindows%2FLists%2FAudigy%2520Issu es%2FAllItems.aspx">Creative Labs: Connect > Beta - Windows > Audigy Issues > Issue affecting Audigy and X-Fi on systems with 4GB RAM or more[/url]
When using a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 series or X-Fi series sound card in a 64-bit Windows system with four gigabyte (4GB) RAM or more, various issues can be experienced. Often sound playback becomes jittery, choppy and noisy and recording fails to work. Sometimes you can record sound, but it's horribly noisy and scratchy. This happens with the latest 64-bit drivers for both product series, under Windows XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 RC 64-bit and other 64-bit Windows operating systems. The issue goes away if the computer can see only 32-bit amounts of RAM, as in 4GB of address space minus PCI addressing. On a 64-bit system with 4GB of RAM installed, disabling Memory Hole Remapping in the BIOS makes the issue go away, since there is no RAM amount above the memory hole address space. Consequently, disabling Memory Hole Remapping on a 64-bit system with more than 4GB of RAM does not solve the issue, since there is RAM above the 32-bit limit of address space. Many users have reported varying issues most likely relating to this, such as noisy input and output, corrupted audio and a complete loss of EAX and ALchemy functionality under all 64-bit Windows operating systems. Consider this report a collected issue observation for 64-bit Windows systems with more than 4GB of RAM installed and usable. This is a serious issue, affecting all 64-bit Windows systems. It is severely hurting customer trust and the Sound Blaster brand.

  • Previously Installed Drivers...Plz Reboot Er

Ok so here goes. After a fresh install of XP pro i attempted to install the driver for my Audigy 2 ZS using the file SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe. at some point during the install i got a blue screen of death and had to reboot. when i tried again i got the message 'you have previously installed drivers without rebooting. please reboot and try again'. of course i tried rebooting and doing it again but i got the same message. i then used add/remove programs to remove the creative files, used device manager to unistall the drivers/device and rebooted to try again. same message. i have sinced used CCleaner and dri've sweeper pro (in safe mode following the directions) with no sucess. i then repeated the process with the card physically removed but got the same message. at this point i have reached my limit. i've unistalled the creative software, sweeped for drivers, and cleaned the registry both with the card installed and unistalled. i've even tried using the beta drivers but same message. so the question is now what? any help would be much appreciated. i've searched the web and found some similar problems but no real answers beyond what i've already done. creative's response was basically 'pay us to help you or buy a new card' and i understand why but i really need this computer up and running and i cant exactly afford a new card. thanks in advance for any help!

PROBLEM FIXED!!! i have no idea how, but some combination of everything i've already done finally somehow worked. maybe some tiny scrap of creative software finally got removed by CCleaner or Driver sweeper or something but by the will of the gods it started making music for me so i wont ask questions : )?
BTW for anyone curious the card is working in its original slot, switching it didnt seem to have any effect. maybe it had something to do with it suddenly working but who knows...

  • Problem with installing drivers Audig

I re-installed my PC today, but I can't get my SoundBlaster installed properly.
I downloaded the latest driver for my Audigy 2 on Windows XP SP2:
    SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
After the installation process on the final Windows reboot it ends with a generic critical failure. The drivers seem installed, my PC finds the Audigy 2 after installation, but the control console doesn't appear, nor am I able to find it in the Creative directory. I do get sound, can play MP3's etc and hear game sounds, although I am not 00% sure whether eax is working properly.
I also tried to install the old drivers from the CD-ROM, which worked. When I use the auto-update afterwards and the driver is installed the console is still there, but doesn't work anymore with reporting that: no soundcard installed/found or something like that.
I tried a couple times and with driver cleaning in between etc, but can't get it working.
Is the current driver broken or do you have some advice on what to do?

it's possible that you don't have nvidia graphic adapter.
for bluetooth issue, make sure you switch the button ( probably front side of your computer ) and activate bluetooth by pressing fn + f5 ( activate it )
after then, if you have bluetooth device, you can install drivers.

i also have the same exact problem and i was told by some apple person to take the ipod back to where i bought it and have them fix it which i'll be doin this week but other than that i think that apple needs to make a version of itunes compativle for vista
Actually they do. The latest version of iTunes is Vista compatible.
A lot of people have had problems with the iPod Shuffle and Vista. It is not an iPod problem, but rather a problem with Vista recognizing some flash based drives (of which the Nano and Shuffle are examples).
A couple of solutions to the Vista problem I have seen are as follows:
    1) The first solution is that Vista sometimes does not look for drivers in the correct place. When the wizard asks you to provide a location for the drivers type in C:\WINDOWS\System32 and see if it properly locates and detects the iPod and loads the drivers.
    2) Have a look in the hardware device list inside Control Pane. You may see you iPod listed (it should appear under the other devices heading) with a yellow triangle next to it. If it appears here then right click it select properties. Next click update device driver. Do not do the automatic find, rather click "I will choose the device from a list." Click on "storage device." With any luck VISTA now finds a USB mass storage device and install it properly.

  • Just installed vista and bootcamp won't install because it needs windows 7 in order to install properly

Hey so i just bought by 15" MacbooK Pro yesterday and wanted to install windows vista on it. I'm to the part where you're supposed to install windows bootcamp but a message comes up saying that it needs windows 7 in order to install properly. What do i do?? I have the upgrade version of windows 7 (whcih i was going to eventually install) but when i tried installing it an error message came up saying that it needs vista service pack 1 to install. In order to install that service pack I need to connect to the internet. I can't connect to the internet, though, without installing the drivers from bootcamp!! AHH! see how this is frustrating? PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Reboot your computer while holding down the option key. You should be presented with the option to boot into OSX. Once booted into OSX start Boot Camp Assistant and select remove the Boot Camp Partition.
I know Boot Camp Assistant was not installed in Windows. It is an OSX application for creating and removing a Boot Camp partition. It is run from OSX.
