Vista 64 support

When will it happen?

No one here could have an answer to that. Only Apple knows and they will announce it when they are good and ready.

  • Vista 64 support for Gamers

Hi, When are we going to see Vista 64 support for gamers? Most gamers are now buying Vista 64 over 32 because of the fact that Vista uses up to .3gb memory at desktop and with modern games using up to 2Gb, only Vista 64 can meet the memory requirements (32 bit can't support 4Gb of installed memory, as it can't address it all. - Install 4Gb and you only get around 3gb reported). Yet I fail to see on these forums any mention of 64 bit support despite a huge take up. The Incrysis forums?have a poll of 24,000 users which shows that 4% intend to adopt DX0 and therefore Vista before Crysis comes out in Q3. Reading the forums, everyone is opting for 64. Same on story Toms Hardware, 64 far more popular as a switch than 32. As gamers are by far and large the biggest purchasers of cards such as the XFI, I'd have thought that 64 bit support would have been a priority. For whats its worth, the current drivers work fine on my 64 installation around the desktop, but presumably will suffer the same problems as everyone else with Movie and game sound decoding. Hence the request for support. (I'm currently waiting on Crysis / Quake Wars before gaming again).

every port will install native under vista x64.   if displaylink isn't picked up then you can download the driver here.

  • Vista x64 support; Core duo usage; SLI or Crossfire

With all the new hardware and OS advantages out there, it would be nice to speed more time doing than waiting . . .
    1. Vista x64 support!
2.duo or quad processor: Lightroom could benefit from multi-threaded or distributed processing for speed or computational intensive tasks?
    3. display: SLI or Crossfire support?

    Lightroom version: 1.3.1 [403270]
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 3790)
    Version: 5.2 [3790]
    Application architecture: x86
    System architecture: x64
    Physical processor count: 4
    Built-in memory: 4094.1 MB
    Processor speed: 2.8 Ghz
Real memory available to Lightroom: 1228.8 MB
    see?
lightroom is x86 application! it means, that it can use only 2 gigs of my ram, and that is a very big problem.

The last version of PSE which supported Vista was version 12.
You'll either have to upgrade your operating system to Windows 7 or Windows 8 or return PSE 13 for a refund.

Where can i download the Vista system support drivers?  It's only giving me the Windows 7 version...

I'm a lousy guesser so if you give more information on what year/model MPro  and what MacOS version your running it'd sure help? Two different OS's two different ways to install.
If your running 10.7( Lion) then Apple no longer supports XP OR Vista and no longer makes Boot Camp drivers for them.

  • 64-bit Vista - "No supported disc burners found"

    Hi,
I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit on an HP Pavilion dv9000t laptop. The model DVD-R/W drive I have is "Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S".
I'm unable to burn songs to CDs to make an audio CD. Under "Advanced in the preferences dialog, on the "Burning" tab, I see "No supported disc burners found".
I'm able to burn data CDs outside of iTunes. I also confirmed that I can burn audio CDs using Windows Media Player. I'm also able to import songs from audio CDs into iTunes.
Here are the results of the iTunes Diagnostics tool:

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.

These Instructions will help you get iTunes working on a 64 bit OS.
Go to http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm and download the newest drivers for Your Operating System (Driver installer for AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors. It’s the 2nd on the page).
Follow these instructions to uninstall the old Drivers. http://www.gearsoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=DRIVERS:Windows_-_Updating%2C_removing%2C_64_bit_versions%2C_etc#Manual_Removal_.E2.80.9 364-bit
After the old drivers are removed run the installer for the new drivers.
After the drivers are installed reboot your computer.
    Next Install iTunes.
After iTunes is installed DO NOT START IT UP.
    Download this folder http://stahlhammer89.com/apple/CD_Configuration.zip
Unzip the file and Place the CD Configuration Folder into your C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes Directory
Congratulations, your iTunes installation should run properly now.

  • Windows vista not supported

is windows vista no longer supported? when  i try download the trial it says my system is no longer supported its a vista 32 bit. does this mean i would have to get a new computer or upgrade my system in oreder to use photoshop ? im confused, also i wanted to know how to subscribe to the monthly plan of cs6? im new to this.

CC requires Windows 7 or higher and you’ll be able to take advantage of more memory if you get a 64-bit OS.
If you already have CS6 you can still continue to update it, although the newest version of ACR 8.4 won’t work on Vista so you’re stuck with ACR 8.3 and won’t be able to go further until you get a new OS.

  • Vista x64 support?

Will Elements run on Vista x64? If so, is there a 64bit version?

Out of curosity, which build of Win7 are you using, to run PE? The reason for asking is that the reports were very good for Win7 and Adobe NLE programs, until very recently. I do not have the two particular "recent" builds, but about a month ago, users started reporting that with the latest build, at that time, almost everything Adobe NLE-related, PE, PrPro and Encore, had quit. The next build did not fix this, and those programs were still dead-in-the-water. In each of these cases, the then latest builds killed Adobe.
Since I am not beta testing Win7, I have to admit that I am not current on which build(s) are involved, and about four weeks have passed.  I have not seen any updates, so the issue(s) might have passed. I only hope that the people, who did (there were about a dozen in several fora) experience the issues reported them to MS to be fixed.
Unfortunately, what happens all too often, is someone begins with a beta version of an OS. A particular build breaks something, and in these cases, the users, who do not realize that they are beta testing, complain that Adobe needs to fix something. Well, it does not work that way. In these cases, MS needs to fix something and the only way that they can be made aware of the issues is for the beta testers to file their reports, and then monitor the performance with the later builds.
Just trying to put things together for Adobe users, as Win7 will get out of beta soon, and we can only hope that the full release will be solid and will work perfectly with all things Adobe.

  • VISTA Support for Multiple Dual Quad Core Processors

Sorry if I missed this in my search.
Does Windows Vista Home Basic support dual quad core processors?
    Windows Help & Support:
Under System, you can view the processor type and speed, as well as the number of processors installed, if your computer uses multiple processors.
Yet I see no mention of multiple processors there -- what am I missing?

    Hi -g,
all Windows Home versions (XP and Vista) only support one physical prcossor with multiple Cores.
Windows Professional versions (XP Professional and Vista Business+Ultimate) support two physical processor with multiple Cores each.

  • Adobe AIR 2.0 support for Vista SP2

I need a quick information about Vista SP2 support in Adobe AIR 2.0

Is there something in particular you are concerned about?  We've tested AIR extensively with Vista SP2 systems, though I see we specify SP1 on our system requirements page.  I'll try and find out clarification on our system reqs page if that's what you're concerned about.
