Vista asks always for Administrative rights while software downloading

My user account in Vista is labelled as administrator.
It is the single account on the laptop.
However whenever I download a program for example it still makes me download to the 'downloads' folder as i do not have administrator permission to download where I choose.
Any one know why this is the case and how to resolve this please ?

Vista's "real" administrator account is disabled by default, so even though you are an Administrator, you need real Admin privileges to do certain tasks.
What you can try is right-click the Internet Explorer icon, and choose "Run as Administrator".
Or try another browser such as Firefox.

I've discovered the hard way the differences between Vista and XP... I've got a compiled LabVIEW program that needs administrative privledges to run. However, when a user launches the program without proper rights under Vista, it doesn't prompt for administrative rights, it just runs and produces strange errors. Is there a way to make the program prompt the user for administrative rights so that they don't always have to right-click and select "Run as administrator"? I heard mention of a "manifest" file that can do this, but I haven't found any details.

I have no solution, but do you know why have to be an Admin to run your program? Do you write data to c:\program files? or any other 'forbidden' location?
Maybe rewriting your app is the best option?

My itunes store ask password for wrong id while updating apps in iphone 5s

I bought a new iphone 5s few days before. I have made all the setting and have logged using my old apple id and password.
While installing a new apps it verify my current apple id and there is no problem. Today I got an update notification that Facebook has new update and when I went to app store and click on update, it ask me to enter password for some different id which is not even mine([email protected]).
I tried few process like login in itunes from my macbook and then sync the mobile with it, delete icloud/apple id and relogging in, but none of this has worked.
I even change the passowrd of apple id and logged in , and still the same , it keep asking password for apple id which is not even mine or registered in my iphone.
I don't know what is the problem here. Have anybody faced similar issue and can help?

You need to delete the app. If it's built-in, then sign out.
All content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them.
Content bought cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.

CAD Update (8.5). Can we "run as" for administrator rights

Hello -
Tonight we are upgrading from UCCX 8.5 SU1 to 8.5 SU2 which will prompt a CAD upgrade. Our agents are not local administrators. The last time we did this, we made those users in a security group that was a domain admin and it worked. At that time, we had Windows XP. Now with Windows 7, we are having issue pushing down that package with SMS.
Can we instead, log on as the CAD user and start the CAD (right click) with the "run as" and provide admin credentials? Will it install correctly?
I need to know that this will work for sure, not just "it should". I know that it should, but software installation can be tricky.

As this is the update, not a fresh install we won't be running the MSI (though good catch on the run as. We "run as" the command prompt and install the MSI that way.
This should just be running the agent and it will check to see if there is an update.
After I posted this, I opened up a TAC case and the engineer set it up in the lab and it worked.
We have 10 agents to do between 7:00 and 7:30 tomorrow morning so I want this to go smoothly.

You are correct. If a characteristic is marked as a LT characteristic, it will not cause a warning message at the time of UD even if it is a required characteristic.
Many places make all characteristics as LT simply so they can make changes and corrections to the results after the UD. But this is not how and why LT characteristics were designed by SAP. This is not an SAP best pactice and characteristics should not be set up as LT characteristics unless they are truly LT tests that you don't expect to be available until after the UD. But many consultants don't do this.
But, once having done so, the only solution you have that I can see, is to utilize a user exit to make the checks you want.

L8 and L9 asking always for registration alternatively + Prob in Monitoring

After few problem of hardware, i had to reinstalled an old backup system in which i had only L8. Reinstall L9 witouht problem . But everytime i activate L9 then L8 alternately they asked me to register before to open the application(things i did always online)and i don't know what can be wrong here.
Also with the same setting preference, i have a different behavour in Monitoring in L9 than L8. In L9, in Cycle mode, when i armed the R and monitor thru logic, i can hear myself clearly, but soon the recording start and pass the 1 bar position of the Left locator, my sound is reduced by at least 6 db in recording, but playback normally. I don't have this issue with L8. Same setting, i have tried to dig where that can come from.
So if any of you can help, i will be gratefull

Alright i found out what is going on. On the Master ouptut (stereo Out in L9) i use a SSLbusComp plugin by removing it, it doesn't change the monitoring level. But weird that the plugin affect this. I use the same template (i like to have just a tiny comp on the Master output - it helps me to glue tracks tighter and this one require just a tiny latency, same setting in L8 and L9 and i don't have this issue in L8...

Are you trying to download SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1?
If yes, then the server tools are only available for server operating systems (e.g. Windows Server 2008, 2012, etc.).
The client tools which connect to the server can be installed on Windows 7. Win7 is not a supported server OS for BI 4.1 server tools. In terms of a trial you may run into issues if installed on Win7 thereby not being able to experience an effective trial.

Sounds like you have a phone that was hacked to run on a network other than the one it was originally locked to. Updating it has re-locked the phone to the original carrier. ONLY the carrier can authorize unlocking the phone.
Where are you, where did you get the phone, and what network are you on?

Firefox 12 installer asks for Administrator account

I am trying to do a fresh install of Firefox 12 on my Windows Ultimate x64. When I try to run the installer, it asks for Administrator rights.
Regardless of what I choose (use my current account, which is an administrator account OR type in the password for the main Administrator account), the installer does nothing. Just stops, without any errors, etc.
1. Why does this version of Firefox need to use the main Administrator account? For the previous versions (and for any other browser) a regular administrator account is enough. What exactly is Firefox 12 doing to the system that requires more access rights?
2. How (in case I decide to go through with this install) can I convince it to actually install?

I did, if I select run as Administrator or if I tick the "run as administrator" in the properties, then it runs.
But I still want to know *why* Firefox 12 wants administrator rights to install? No other browser requires that and even Firefox 11 installs ok without administrator rights.

How to stop administrator rights for an user

We had given the default user in all Mac systems administrator rights while installing the OS 10.3.X
Now, as per our new policy, users should not have administrator rights. We have one administator login on the systems.
Can someone help me on disbling the users Admin rights withour affect their data?

You should backup the NetInfo database before making any changes. Run the 500.daily script from the command line. You can copy the command from this post and paste it into the Terminal application:
sudo sh /etc/daily
Press the return key. Enter you admin password at the password prompt and press the return key.
Open the NetInfo Manager and navigate to the group admin. You need to unlock the NetInfo Manager and enter your admin password. Remove the user from the field users. Click the lock to save the changes. If this doesn't work I'll hesitantly post the command line method.

Asking me for a CD

I downloaded a trial of illustrator on my new computer but it wont let me fully install it it keeps asking me for a CD when i downloaded the trial software here from adobe. Can any of you guys please help me solve this :)

When you go to install it they will probably show you where to find the key. If the key isn't where they told you to find it you should take it back to where you got it and #1 ask them where it is and #2 if they can't find it get a replacement.

Administrator rights required

I installed the latest Flexbuilder 3 beta on my company
laptop. Installing went ok, which amazes me because normally you
need administrator rights.
But ones installed I found the same trouble back in the
debugger flash version. We do not have it installed, nor can I
install it because I do not have administrator rights. Is it
possible to somehow get a debugger up and running without the need
for administrator rights required.

How exactly does one give it those file permissions? I suspect this issue may (but may not) be related to switching from one kind of Adobe account to another, let me explain.
This is probably not a very common situation when it comes to the Adobe license. I work for a university, and my department paid for a CC teacher/student edition for me for about 2 years. The university I work for is one of 14 public universities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that are united in something called PASSHE. PASSHE entered into a massive license agreement with Adobe, and so now I qualify for a CC license under this massive license to PASSHE, so I cancelled the individual account that my department had been paying for. Adobe gave me misinformation as to how to switch over my license, to make a long and miserable story short. So...when you say "file permissions" and "user account" are you talking about my user account on my computer, or the Adobe user account? And where, exactly, do I go to enter whichever credentials it wants?
