Vista Client Install Performance Issues

I have searched for Vista AND install and did not find anything related to the following situation. The client has installed Business One on several workstations, most are Windows XP; however, two of the machines are Windows Vista. On the two Vista machines, it takes approximately 15 seconds, just for the window form to open. On the XP machines, the response is almost immediate. I know 15 seconds is not that long, but in contrast to the XP machines, it seems unwieldy and raises concerns about future performance and more demanding tasks.
Now, for the twist, when conducting a GoToAssist session with the client, the time delay goes away. After endng the session, the time delay returned. I am guessing that some security and Internet Explorer settings may be the root of the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct or determine the source of the problem?

In MS Vista, enabling the new graphics feature known as "Aero Glass" results in a very slow display of SAP Business One window.                                                                               
Please do as Method 1 & Method 2 mentioned in SAP Note [1092330|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1092330]. Both of the two methods change the appearance and performance of Vista, this will promote Vista efficiency.                                                                               
Please also check your Vista edition and be aware Windows Vista Home Edition is not supported. You can have an overview about all supported products on the following location.

  • Just installed, performance issue

    I just installed Arch on my laptop to try and get some experience with a more DIY type distro, and I'm having performance issues. Compiling my wireless driver from source took over an hour, and it only took about 10 minutes in ubuntu. I noticed that there was very little activity shown on the HD indicator LED. In ubuntu the LED would be lit up constantly when compiling anything. I think it might have something to do with my HD. I saw that having conflicting host names in the configuration files could be an issue so I checked that, but they were the same. I'm really new to this type of distro, so I'm probably missing something really obvious.

    Oh maybe my etc/hosts is wrong. I was looking on the arch wiki and set it up in the format suggested there.

    I'll have to try setting it up that way when I get home.
    would my local domain just be the broadcast IP?
    No there are no errors, it just sits there saying "retrieving packages from core/extras" and then I interrupt it and start it over and it works fine. I'm hoping that the /etc/hosts change will resolve things.
    Also my GNOME crashes when I try to install a new icon theme package. I drag and drop the package onto the appearance window and it crashes. I know this is a valid theme file as I've used it successfully on other distros. I'm worried it could be instability caused by the 2.6.28 kernel, as that is what killed my ubuntu install. Also the reason I started using arch. I need to use that kernel to resolve the ACPI problems my laptop was having with previous kernels.

  • ITunes 7.3.2.6 and Windows Vista Performance Issues

    I recently purchased an 80GB iPod, and downloaded iTunes promptly, disregarding all the negative attention about how "iTunes crashes your computer" or "iTunes kills Windows". So far, the only real problem I've had with iTunes is the amazingly poor performance it has on my computer. When iTunes is minimized to the system tray, or compressed into Mini Player mode, it runs better, but not well.
    Running in the full mode, the player bogs down my computer substantially. Knowing my laptop isn't a powerhouse, I expected a slight bit of slowdown, since there is some evident with QuickTime.
    UPDATE: I've just stumbled across something. Apparently, wiggling my mouse over the iTunes program, iTunes runs about two or three times faster. The moment I stop moving the mouse cursor over the window, the speeds return to slow. It seems to only do this during the "Processing Album Artwork" phase. Bizarre? Very. Any explanations?
    I find this to be very annoying, especially when syncing. Syncing my library (which is about five or six gigabytes) takes an amazingly long time. Are there any workarounds, registry hacks, or anything else that can be done? Thanks!

    Do you have ReadyBoost enabled on the PC? If so, by way of experiment, try disabling that as per the instructions from the following document:

  • Client Install Issue - SCCM 2012 R2 - Manual Deploy Installed ok

    Hello, I have sccm 2012 configured with 2,000 machine approx. It is been used mainly as a Software Deployment tool for now. On checking a recent IE10 upgrade, I noticed that there is a number of machines that do not have the client installed (and thus did
    not upgrade IE). I picked 1 machine, searched in SCCM - had no client. I checked all relevant settings:
    Boundary for Client in question - ok
    Local Client Settings (ip,dns,no firewall, ping sccm ok and vice versa etc).
    Once i right clicked to deploy the client, it installed no problem. I checked the ccmsetup log file and the only info it had was from the time that the client was manually deployed (I will attach the log below anyway). I am really puzzled as to why the client
    did not install and if this is the issue why IE is not upgrading (it is hard to pinpoint as there are 250 sites approx). The automatic install task works no problem on other machines once the machine goes online.
    Any help, would be great. Here is the log (I am fairly new to SCCM btw):

    Hi, Yes i had a look at the log yesterday. there are errors initially, but then the install completes. I can copy the whole log here, the machine in question is LCD14572. If you could take a look would be great. Still doesnt explain why i had to manually

  • OEPE Performance Issues in Eclipse 3.5 / Vista

    Hello,
    We are experiencing some performance issues handling larger DML files:
    1. It takes about a 45 - 60 sec to open 6.6MB DML file (see link for source below) in Eclipse 3.5 on Lenovo ThinkPad W500 Core Duo 2 laptop with 3GB memory (1 year old and still considered a pretty fast laptop)
    2. Executing this file from Eclipse IDE just hangs with a spinning Vista wheel. I have to kill and restart the IDE.
    Here is the error I get after waiting for the spinning wheel to stop for a while:
    "Unhandled event loop exception
    Java heap space"
    Then Eclipse shows this message:
    "An out of memory error has occurred. Consult the "Running Eclipse"section of the read me file for information on preventing this kind of error in the future. You are recommended to exit the workbench..."
    ******** 2/28 Update:
    I've changed the Xmx parameter to -Xmx1024 as suggested. It didn't give me the error this time, but it still took about 1.5 min to open this SQL file in Eclipse and another 10 min waiting before the INSERT statements started to execute, though they never reached the end. Other operations on this file are very slow too (e.g. right-clicking and selecting a menu item). It seems that handling larger files is currently not implemented as efficient as it could be. Maybe it's not buffered?

    I've done some preliminary research into this performance bottleneck. There are several issues involved: DTP's scrapbook handles large strings without buffer; our plsql parser parses large strings without buffer; and we attempt to execute more than 40000 insert statements one by one.
    We're near the end of our current release cycle. With issues in this scale, we have to wait until our next release to address it.

    What is wrong with caching in your scenario?
    What are the settings for your WebDAV-RM in KM (especially "Cache Timeout")?
    And what are the settings for your memory cache ("Default Time-to-life" and "Restart lifetime on access")?

  • N8 email client performance issue

    The email client on the N8 mostly works OK, but the performance is terrible when trying to reply to an email that is "long". Actually there really doesn't have to be that much text in the previous message(s) when the client starts to be really really slow. When typing, the lag is really making the typing almost impossible.
    Is there plans to improve the performance? Will the Anna update improve the client? N8 isn't the best hardware out there, but still it has plenty of power to handle large emails also. This can be lightly tested using some webmail with the phones browser. When typing a reply to a long email there is no problem.
    Others having performance issues when trying to reply to a long email?

    Same here, not only answering large emails, sending email with attachments is about the same. I am having sync problems too, Messaging looks erratic.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Agent Issue: Error 25211.Failed to install performance counters.. Error Code: -2147024809

    I'm trying to deploy SCOM 2012 R2 agent onto a domain controller and I get the following error "Product: Microsoft Monitoring Agent -- Error 25211.Failed to install performance counters.. Error Code: -2147024809 (The parameter is incorrect.)."
    I've installed the agent successfully onto 4 other domain controllers with out any issues.</p><p>The domain controllers are all VM's running on VMWare and are Windows Server 2012 R2.
    I've rebuilt the Perfmon Counters based on this article:&nbsp;https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2554336?a=wsignin1.0
    I've also enabled verbose logging on the msi installation:

    I've successfully installed the agent. The server needed a reboot after fixing the corrupt perfmon counters.
    I know have a issue with the agent on the domain controller. It kkeeps on greying out and have used hslockdown to allow the local system access by using the following command.

    Further digging into the issue I see in the SCOM Management Server the following error "The entity servername is not heartbeating"

    I have issues with shutting down machines. When machine is connected to company's LAN everything works fine. However, if machine is connected to VPN - Juniper NC - 1 hour or more it always hangs when it is shutting down. When I shut down the machine
    (verbose mode on), first stage is:
    Please wait for the system Event Notification service. 
    This ends exactly
    after 3 minutes. Next stage:
    Please wait for the group policy client windows 7
    ...is never timed out (even after few hours). Machine never shuts down.
    In Application logs there are always these 4 events when machine is unsuccessfully shutting down:
    6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    4627: The COM+ Event System timed out attempting to fire the Logoff method on event class {D5978650-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} for publisher  and subscriber .  The subscriber failed to respond within 180 seconds.
    The display name of the subscription is "ISensLogon2". The HRESULT was 80010002.
    6006: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> took 180 second(s) to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    Sens is timed out after 3 minutes while there is no 6006 event for GPClient and machine is stuck there for ages (Please wait for the group policy client
    stage). I noticed in System logs that machine always hangs if there is this error
    5783: The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\server for the domain X is not responsive.  The current RPC call from Netlogon on \\machine to \\server has been cancelled.

    I tried with signing out from VPN before shutting down machine, I even switched off WiFi but machine still hung. If i tried to get GP results before shutting down machine it takes ages and it is stuck in "Getting the user name" stage.
    Gpupdate /force never updates policy (It stops at Updating Policy...). I tired with installing different hotfixes which did not resolve the issue. I never have any
    issues with logging in, no GP scripts are applied when user is logging off or on, no roaming profiles. The only issue is when machine needs to be shut down.
    I excluded 1 machine from GP and left it on VPN for a few hours, several times. It always shuts down successfully. I applied GP back one by one and the one which is presumably causing an issue is Avecto which adds admin rights when VPN application
    starts (event 100):

    I guess there is a DNS issues when machine is on VPN which leads that GP cannot be applied / updated. Not sure if or why Avecto would have an impact on this. When machine is trying to shut down it still somehow thinks it is connected to DC. What

    Does anyone have same issues? All machines are Dell with Juniper NC (VPN).

    According to event log, Winlogon process takes a long time to handle logoff event. That's to say winlogon process is waiting for response to logoff.  
    According to your description after, this problem is most probably caused by Avecto. You can try to disable or uninstall it temporarily for test.
    To make further troubleshoot with this problem, you can try to use WPT (Windows Performance Tool) to make troubleshoot.

  • JCaps 5.1.3 Sun Solaris CPU performance issue

    We are experiencing a serious CPU performance issue on our Solaris server with HL7 projects deployed.
    The projects consist of the sample HL7 inbound and outbound projects with an additional service sending to a batch local file external for writing journals.
    The performance issue occurs when there is volume of data in the queues/topics. As we continue to deploy additional HL7 projects (usually about 6 interfaces), the CPU increases until it reached 100%.

    total: 4305272k bytes allocated + 349048k reserved = 4654320k used, 10190536k available
    My sysadmin has run statistics (iostat, vmstat, psig, pmap, pfind, pstack, mpstat, etc.) - and has reported that the server is performing fine - with the exception of the CPU. It also looked like the swap space was not being utilized.
    We have increased the MaxPerm value to 512, and increased the heapsize on isprocmgr_dm_phs to -Xmx2048m, and increased the heapsize on the domain to 2048 per KB 103824
    We have also added the -d64 value (specific to Solaris) per the Deployment Guide.
    We increased the value of Maximum Pool size in the JMS clients to 128 - per the deployment Guide.
    We increased the swapspace on the server to 10Gb:
    total: 4305272k bytes allocated + 349048k reserved = 4654320k used, 10190536k available
    We have modified the tcpip and kernal parameters per the Sun Administration server 8.2 performance tuning guide:
    core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited
    data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
    file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
    open files (-n) 8192
    pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 10
    stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192
    cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
    max user processes (-u) 29995
    virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
    None of these modificatons appear to increase performance.

    Hi,
    I noticed this behavior with the Alert + SNMP Agents installed but not configured. In this situation, the SNMP agent generates traps for all events, leading to high CPU using, even when nothing was processed. Are you in a similar case?

  • Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7

    Hi,
    I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
    Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290.  These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed.  The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
    I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working.  Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
    I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful.  Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly.  This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
    I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client.  I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
    On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
    On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
    What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
    Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

    You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
    You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.

    If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
    MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
    (Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.)

  • Crystal Reports 11g Performance Issue

    We just upgraded our database to Oracle 11g from Oracle 10g and we are having significant performance issues with Crystal Reports.
    Our DEV and TEST environments are on 11g and are very slow to connect to the database and attach to specific tables.  It is unusable.  Our PROD environment is still 10g and works fine.  
    We  have tested with both the lastest version -  Crystal Reports 2008 V1  and  Crystal Reports XI R2 SP6.  We have also tested on several different machines.
    We are using Oracle 10g ODBC drivers.
    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    You could also try our Data direct drivers we have available on our WEB site using this [link|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008666562008E/cr_datadirect53_win32.zip].
    Those drivers are the most recent and do support 11g. It also has a wired driver that doesn't require the client to be installed.
    Also, highly recommended that when you do update the Oracle client to uninstall 10 first. There have been issues with CR and Oracle mixing the Oracle dependencies and causing problems.

    REPORTING THIS ERROR FOR ANOTHER CLIENT
    I am having some performance issues, only from a response point of view.AT times the users just hangs and then all of a sudden it comes back to normal again.
    I am running crm 4.0 on windows with oracle 9.2
    I have advance server installed on my db server and windows 2003 installed on my apps server. I just lately installed an apps server , thinking that the load was too heavy.I am still having issues.
    On my Db server, i Have 8.4 gigs of mhysical memory and on my apps servers, I Have 3.0 gigs of physical memeory.
    I have looked at tcode st02 on both my db server and apps server. I have no swappign issues.
    My only issue on sto2 on my db server  is that I have almost 6 gigs ofextended memory free with a max of 1.3 extended gigs in use.
    There is still however 714.424 in heap memory.

    There is no value for heap memeory
    Looking at st06 on my apps server, physical mem available is 3.gigs with 555 megs free.
    Looking at st06 on my db server, physical mem available is 8.33.gigs with 5.955 gigs free.
    My utilization is on an average of 30 - 40 %
    When goign into smlg , my response on my apps server show 2.75 seconds and on my db it shows 12,975 seconds ( this in st03 shows about 6.8 seconds)

  • Oracle 10.2.0.3 performance issue

    Hi all,
    I have a performance issue in the database I currently maintain.
    Here's the specifications:
    - Windows 2003 Server 64bit
    - Oracle 10g 10.2.0.3 patch 31
    - Application Server 10gR2 OC4J (Forms and Report Services)
    The server was re-installed about 3 weeks ago after it got viruses.
    I believe my setup on the memory parameters were fine because for two weeks the system ran fine and the end of day process is also increasing in terms of time.
    However, starting 2 days ago in the middle of no where, the end of day process started to get really slow (from 11 minutes became 1 hour).
    The IT standby in my client will normally do an analyze schema and after that every thing will be back to normal again.
    I turned off the GATHER_STATS_JOB 2 weeks ago and replaced it with DBMS_STATS.GATHER_DATABASE_STATS which I scheduled to execute every Friday.
    This problem occurred even before the server was re-installed and as usual, analyze schema (GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS) will fix it.
    I don't have much options currently, and analyzing the schema seems to be the only solution which normally we never do for other clients (at not everyday analyzing schema).
    I hope any of you could help me out with any solution on how to trace the exact problem on this.

    This end of day process basically will insert some values to certain tables and also generating reports afterward.
    I managed to get the AWR report within the time of the end of day process.
    sql execute elapsed time is on the top of Time Model Statistics.
    What I don't understand here is why is this issue happened only after 2 weeks?
    I suspected that this might be because Oracle pick the wrong execution plan, and normally a wrong execution plan caused by outdated statistics on the indexes and tables, but what I cannot understand is why this is happening on Monday morning where in Friday night GATHER_DATABASE_STATS ran successfully.
    Yesterday when the analyze schema was executed again, this morning I got another email saying that the performance issue occurred again.
    The top most wait events are: db file sequential read, db file scattered read, log file parallel write, LNS Wait on SENDREQ, and log file sequential read.

  • Performance issue with Crystal when upgrading Oracle to 11g

    Dear,
    I am facing performance issue in crystal report and oracle 11g as below:
    In ther report server, I have created a ODBC for connect to another Oracle 11g server. also in report server I have created and published a folder to content all of my crystal report. These report can connect to oracle 11g server via ODBC.
    and I have a tomcat server to run my application in my application I refer to report folder in report server.
    This way can work with SQL server and oracle 9 or 10g but it facing performance issue in oracle 11g.
    please let me know the root cause.
    Notes: report server, tomcate server are win 32bit, but oracle is in win 64bit, and i have upgraded DataDirect connect ODBC version 6.1 but the issue can not resolve.
    Please help me to solve it.

    Hi Anh,
    Use a third party ODBC test tool now. SQL Plus will be using the Native Oracle client so you can't compare performance.
    Download our old tool called SQLCON: https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252882008E/sqlcon32.zip
    Connect and then click on the SQL tab and paste in the SQL from the report and time that test.
    I believe the issue is because the Oracle client is 64 bit, you should install the 32 bit Oracle Client. If using the 64 bit client then the client must thunk ( convert 64 bit data to 32 bit data format ) which is going to take more time.
    If you can use OLE DB or using the Oracle Server driver ( native driver ) should be faster. ODBC puts another layer on top of the Oracle client so it too takes time to communicate between the layers.
