Vista Crash

Hi... running Windows Vista with all updates. also latest version of ITUNES. Everything was running fine... updated podcasts then connected Ipod... it begins to SYNC then Vista gives me a bluescreen with a warning and shuts down.
I tried reinstalling Itunes... no luck... checked for updates all around but can't stop the crash... any suggestions?

ok back again.... I found out it is a corupt file from a podcast... after deleting all my podcasts... it stopped crashing... then I added them back... once I tried to add the file that was corrupt it crashed again... then stopped when I deleted it. it is the Bill Moyers podcast by the way... is it possible to hack a podcast to cause a computer to crash... because this is what seems to be happening!

Vista crashes when syncing photos to ipod

I'm using Vista on an HP notebook. Syncing music is no problem, but when I atempt to Sync photos, Vista crashes while the photos are "optimizing", and the whole machine has to restart...I get a blue screen and then it restarts, after restart, I'm given this message:

This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in your music library and you can access that exact same song from a playlist, your photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos can be accessed from the labum you synced.
It is working exactly as designed.

Vista Crash. Reloaded but no photo access

Hi, Vista crashed on me and Dell
cant fix it so I reloaded Vista and now I have lost all my programs
including access to my photos.
Can anyone advise.

What method did you use to "reload" Vista?
You may have wiped the disk!
Presumably you had your photos backed up?

In other words is any way bring back old data itunes kept in PC(was vista- crashed- now win7)...

If you want to transfer to a new computer here is the way-
1. Without connecting your iPad to your new computer -
A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
2. Connect your iPad to your computer -
A) Start iTunes (if it does not do so automatically).
B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

Please help me as i'm trying to sync my iphone after my windows vista crashed but i installed vista again and restored all my backup from previous windows, now what can i do in order to sync my iphone?

It tries to sync but only for a few seconds and it goes away without syncing at all. It acts like it synced but it never does. There are no error messages displayed.

I see you are running Windows Vista.You know that Vista is not supported for CS6, right? It is not prevented from running, but not supported.
That known, what video card do you have ? Do you have the most updated driver? My laptop is brand new and I had an outdated video driver right upon delivery.
Maybe that could help.

Now that I'm looking at it, I don't have it... but I still have the problem:(. I rebooted the PRAM, I cleaned my permissions, run utilities checks, nothing helps, I'm at the end of my wits. I called apple - all I got was bad attitude... I don't know what to do, this disfunction makes it impossible for me to work....

Windows Vista Crashes when I puge in Ipod

My window vista system crashes when I plug in my Ipod.I have vista since it came out and had no problem until a few days ago. Have not install anything on the computer. When I plug my ipod in it starts to sync for a few minutes then I get a blue screen that tells my I have a stop error 0x00000055 (0xbbd83847,0x816b6949,0x00000002).Any ideas.

Also, if you are connecting more than one iPod to your computer, sometimes this causes issues with Windows machines.

Vista crashes when I plug in my 8gb Nano

I just got my iPod, have installed (and reinstalled) iTunes & Quicktime. Everytime I plug in my iPod to the USB port, my computer crashes -- Blue Screen of Death.
Have looked at both the Microsoft site and the Apple site for updates and found that I'm running the most current versions of the O/S and the software.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening, or what I can do to resolve it?

what's springing out at me from that is the Microsoft Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller Update.
there's an issue with SATA drives on Vista boxes with nVidia componentry that typically produces blue screens when watching videos in iTunes, as per the "Additional info" section down at the bottom of the following document:

... but i've seen a few instances of it also being associated with blue screens when syncing an ipod (including one on an HP slimline desktop).
what is helping some folks with the nVidia/SATA/Vista thing on the HP desktop boxes is that Microsoft Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller update/rollback. so it's worth making sure you're up to date with that.
while you're at your download page, it would also be worth checking to see if you're up to date with that NVIDIA Graphics Driver Update being listed for your s7700n, too.

Did a factory reset of Windows Vista. Had Thunderbird before, downloaded and installed after reset. I have a windows backup on external drive that was made about a week before the crash. Would the old contacts and messages be on this windows backup? If so, how to retrieve?

What you need is your Thunderbird profile folder. Check whether that's in your backup.

VZ 8830 - DS 4.6 - Vista - Crashes - Painfully Slow

I was previously running Windows XP with my Verizon 8830 and Desktop Software 4.3. Sycronizing with Outlook 2007 used to take about 1 to 1.5 min. tops. I have 941 contacts in my address book, and about 1905 calendar items. Now I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, still Outlook 2007, but now I'm running Desktop Software 4.6 and Sycronizing crashes at the calendar section and is painfully slow (4 min.) up till the crash. I'm going back to 4.5 in just a min. to try that out, any other thoughts? Anyone having crashing with Vista and 4.6? And or painfully slow sync times?

Ok, I had to go all the way back down to V 4.2 to get a good sync. Now I have another crashing problem. I've just recently updated my device software which Verizon posted on theier website some time ago. Now I'm running V4.2.2.196 instead of V4.2.2.176. Now I can't sync again, with any version of Desktop software. I get to the processing device calander and it crashes. Any help?

Photoshop Elements organizer 8 Vista Crash

I have just installed Photoshop elements 8. The editor works fine, but the organizer will not even open, just get the crash report. I have done everything in the Troubleshooting section except take out my RAM Sims. I am bypassing the Welcome screen: I have called Adobe Tech support a number of times, been kicked up to more Sr. technicians and told twice that I would be called back after a meeting of their minds. Still waiting for the first call! My OS is Vista Ultimate 64 bit with hardware that can run three of these programs at once. I bought this program from Adobe for over $100.00 from there site, waited for the CD to arrive so I would have a hard copy. To make sure I didn’t get a bad CD, I downloaded it, installed a clean install, and had the same results. I am going to start the fight with Adobe to get my money back, so I can buy a program that works. Until then does anyone have something new to suggest?

When I installed it to the laptop running vista 32 bit it ran fine. Now remember these two computers are identical, but when I installed it to the laptop running vista 64 bit I have the problem. Whats up with that?
Speculation: It may well be a problem with PSE compatibility with Vista 64. Many people run PSE 5.0.2 and later just fine on Vista 64, though Adobe refuses to provide customer support for it. It's possible that Adobe quality assurance uncovered problems that they decided not to fix. But on the other hand, I've often discovered problems by minor differences in "identical" software and hardware configs, e.g. supposedly identical desktops delivered by Dell on the same day with disks from different manufacturers and slightly different specs.
