I have windows vista and downloaded the latest version of Itunes...after I pluged in my Ipod nano and it started searching for software after a long while it startes installing software but again after long while it posted this:
windows encountered a problem onstalling the driver software for your device.
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
What i supposed to do? Help me...I need some software fot my I pod so windows can recognize the storage device

please wait until Apple release the new iTunes which fits under Vista

can anybody please help me! I'm trying to connect my ipod touch 2nd gen to my comp and windows vista doesn't install the software. I've tried to install the 32 bit & 64 bit versions of itunes but nothing works. Vista doesn't recognize d drive, I tunes reformats

My Vista loaded laptop was not recognizing the d drive, Microsoft had me enter the register and delete the upper and lower filters, which fixed that problem, however it caused Itunes to be unable to burn a disc, Itunes suggested re downloading Itunes, which re installed the upper filter, and now Vista doesn't recognize the d drive again, anyway out of this loop?

Windows Vista doesn't recognize Mac Pro RAM

I have installed Windows Vista Business on my Mac Pro using Boot Camp, and have found some anomalies that seem strange. It is basically working well (for Windows....).
1. I installed this on a 500Gb HD on my Mac Pro. This machine is a fully configured box doing video editing, with extensive AV files. It has all four drive bays filled, 3 of them with 1Tb drives, the thrid with a single 500Gb drive. I was a bit surprised to find that Boot Camp won't allow partitioning of its OSX installed boot HD beyond a Mac Partition and the Boot Camp paritition, or a secondary entire HD dedicated to Windows. This is not very practical with these large drives, since even though HD storage is fairly cheap, I don't want to give Microsoft more than maybe 100gb on a drive. All of the other HDs are partitioned for multiple parititions, which I need to preserve. The OSX boot drive has 3 OSX partitions already installed. Any ideas on how to do this better? Yes, I know I can use Parallels or VMWare, and do, but find that native Boot Camp Windows is better.
2. Windows Vista is running on a dedicated HD in Boot Camp on this machine (to all appearances running fine), but doesn't recognize more than 2Gb of RAM on my machine which is configured with 10Gb of RAM which is recognized appropriately in OSX. What am I missing?
I would appreciate any help on a partitioning scheme that works to support multiple partitions on these large drives, and a reason that only 2Gb out of 10Gb of RAM is recognized by Windows Vista Business in Boot Camp.

I am running in Boot Camp, which runs in native mode without emulation. The advantage is that if you are going to run Windows, which is my goal, it doesn't have the overhead of OSX. Indeed, most Mac machines are among the fastest Windows machines available for equivalent hardware when running Windows in native mode. There are a few more arcane advantages to running natively, particularly in terms of connecting to external devices. There is no background RAM overhead when run natively.

App store doesn't recognize installed software

Ok. I've upgraded to Lion. The app store STILL doesn't recognize software that's on the Mac, and this INCLUDES Apple apps. The only software that shows up as installed is Lion.

System doesn't recognize the software programs on the Photoshop elements disk?

How do I get my Windows XP system to recognize the software programs on the Photoshop Elements disk? This is not a download from the web. I've got the minimum requirements. Turned off all security systems. Created a separate account for Photoshop. And tried other disks to make sure the drive is working. After hours of troubleshooting I'm ready to return the software.

If the drive is correctly installed on to the sled, and the mounting screws are snug, not tight, and the sled is inserted properly so that all the roof-tangs catch as the sled is inserted, failure to show up in Disk Utility means the drive is not useable.
A Bug in 10.8.4 and later precludes Disk Utility ERASE-ing large drives in Internal bays. Use PARTITION only, and create one new partition, GUID partition Map, Mac OS Extended (journaled) Volume.

Computer with Vista doesn't recognize my iPod Nano

When I plug in my iPod to the USB on my computer with Vista, nothing happens. My iPod doesn't show up. I have tried resetting my iPod and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. I have also tried plugging it into another USB on my computer.

1. Reset your iPod, iPod nano, iPod mini, or iPod shuffle.
2. Retry your iPod with a different USB or FireWire port on your computer (please note that the latest iPods can only be synced through USB).
3. Restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed.
4. Reinstall your iPod and iTunes software. You can download the latest versions of iPod Updater and iTunes from our website.
5. Restore your iPod using the latest iPod Updater. Important: Please note that restoring an iPod will erase all songs and files on your iPod and restore it back to its original settings. Make a backup of any files on your iPod before restoring it. After restoring, you can transfer your music and files from your computer back to your iPod again.
I did reset my iPod, tried restarting the computer, and reinstalled iPod on here AND updated iTunes to the latest version. I only have one USB port on this laptop, so its possible it isn't high-powered (is that the right term?) enough for iPod? This computer is pretty old. So aside from that the last option in your suggestion is the Restore. I just don't understand how that can be the only option just because I got a new computer. If so I wish I had known that before using iTunes to buy my music

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem syncing my iPhone 3g with iTunes to restore it. I received an iphone 3g 16gb from a friend because he didn't want to try to fix it. He told me it broke after he dropped it. Boots up to the apple logo and just stays there, sometimes spinning, sometimes not.
So I started reading around the net trying to find ways to fix it. I've tried hard resetting (home and wake/sleep same time for 10 secs) and that didn't help. I've tried hooking it up to an itunes with the most recent update and restoring from there. The problem is, my laptop doesn't detect the iphone at all. I have a VAIO with VISTA Business and it is not detecting the phone at all when I plug it in, doesn't show up in device manager or give any indication that the iphone is plugged in other than when I plug it in, the phone boots up to the apple. I've tried plugging in the phone and going into recovery mode from there and I can bring up the screen that shows itunes and the usb cable but nothing shows up in itunes. I've tried getting into DFU mode, but my laptop is still not detecting it.
I'm running out of ideas so I thought I'd post on the web. Has anybody run into this problem before? I've googled it and checked this forum and others and havent found anything. Is my iphone bricked? Anyone with any experience with similar problems, please let me know!

A bit of a long shot but you could try and reset the nvram using a stop+N key sequence. Like I said a bit of a long shot which I do not expect to work as it seems you have tried most things.
I assume that both keyboards work ok on another system and that there are not loose connections between the keyboard, mouse, monitor and the system.
Does the system boot up, pass diags, etc when the ttya is used. It might be worth while stress testing the system with something like SUNVts.
You need to also keep in mind this might genuinely be a connector fault with the motherboard, perhaps caused while taking the system apart or moving it.

Vista doesn't recognize iPod

My old computer containing my iTunes Music library crashed.
The only copy of my music is on my iPod Mini.
I downloaded iTunes 7.6 into my new computer running Vista Home Premium .
The download is successful. iTunes opens when I connect the iPod but does not allow a sync. There is no library to sync with.
I want to get the music from the iPod back onto the iTunes and rebuild my library.
I authorized the new computer.
I turned off auto sync to prevent wiping me out.
How can I get the new computer / iTunes to recognize and sync with my iPod?

I have to update iTunes in order to sync my phone, but I can't update iTunes with my current software (mac OS X, version 10.5.8) It says I need version 10.8 something. But when I go to software update and check, it says my software is up to date. OBVIOUSLY it isn't. Why is this happening? What can I do to make my computer realize it needs an update??? AAAAGHHH

The Minimum requirement for iTunes Version 11 is OS X 10.6.8
Upgrading to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x

I've had this iPod since Christmas, and last night when I plugged it in to my computer to charge, a little bubble at the bottom of my screen says: "USB Device not recognized." I've tried everything it said to do on iPod trouble shooting. I'm very poor and can not afford a new iPod, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Macbook doesn't recognize HP 6525 Photosmart (Costco#) for a 6520, Os 10.9.5

Printer works fine with USB cable connection. Indicates it is connected to Wi-Fi, using Airport extreme router and comcast cable with comcast router 9no buttons to push on router)
I downloaded HP software and drivers, reports from printer indicates everything is fine but still no wireless connection.
Scanner scans pictures but not text.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm moments away from returning the printer but I hope this is a software or installation problem rather than a hardware problem.

The firefox profile manager doesn't come up when I search for it in the start menu or run.

I don't know if I messed it up which I probably did and I don't know what happened. I use two profiles. The default for the aurora/nightly and the one I made for the stable version. The default profile has the compatibility reporter and I wanted to install a program which wouldn't let me, so I changed the profile for the stable release to the default one. Somehow, ever since I can't access the manager in the start menu. So if I want to use the nightly and stable version at the same time, I can't anymore. When I log onto the administrator account, the manager comes up in the start menu and not in mine. Since i guess the manger is missing on my account now, I can't change the shortcuts to put it on a different profile.

Yea. I used it a couple times, so I know I have to close firefox. Also, I asked this late last night so I have to finish editing the post.
