Vista Driver

Dear Sir,
I've just bought a Lenovo G400 notebook and installed the Windows Vista on it. Basically I don't have any problem with vista and can use it perfectly with the notebook. My question is, there is a CD Vista driver on the package with this notebook, but what is actually the purpose of this driver? Do I have to install this all Vista driver even though there is no problem with my Vista (I can hear sound without installing the sound driver...etc)?
Is there any disadvantages if I don't install these drivers.

Well, you need to logon to linksys.com/download and download the latest drivers and install it on the computer.

I recently tried to update some drivers on my HP tx1220us tablet computer using some 3rd party software. Long story short, I messed up the driver to the tablet touch screen. When I try to Calibrate , it says tablet hardware not found. I know it's not a hardware issue because the pc dual-boots and the other O/S side (Win7) works fine. How to get the Windows Vista Driver for ATI Radeon 7500 card?
I am using a IBM Thinkpad T42 with a 32Mb ATI Radeon 7500 graphic card AGP.
Is there any Vista 32-bit driver to update my card so that this system support Aero effect?

The Radeon 9000 driver works for the Radeon 7500 card. I have successfully used it on a T43 with Vista Ultimate x86

Unfortunately no. The Radeon 9000 driver should bring your graphics score up to close to 2, but it will not get it high enough to enable Aero support.

Bought new Audigy SE, unable to install new Vista Driv

I just bought and installed a new Audigy SE, immediatelly after turn on the computer via Windows Update download and installed the drivers and that worked fine with playback but the mic sounds in very low, I even tried to manually edit the mic boost registry but still the mic is practically useless. These are the drivers:?[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/AudigyDrivers.jpg">?Another trouble: At the same time Windows Updated downloaded the Audigy Vista, I downloaded the new Audigy drivers for Vista posted on June 25th, but when I try to install them I receive this error message:[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/ErrorVistaDrivers.jpg">?I even restored my system just before the windows update driver was downloaded and installed but?still I receive this error. I tried to manually delete the drivers, uninstall the audio card and the restore it, but still I am getting this error and I'd like to take advantage of this driver and software to see if that will fix the problem with the low power mic.

@javiersf; if I were you, I would give back that soundcard back and wait further for some support from Creative. 'cos , there is not a good support for Audigy users, especially for "LS/SE/Value" users; I don't recommend that card to anyone.
BTW, there is not a driver for Mic Boost, since the first Vista driver released. You should find an alternati've way (like using mic from Onboard sound card) or you have to use your mic like it's now.

New Vista driver 2_10_0000 for build 52

Surely there is some mistake with the Vista build number in the driver description (523). Was the driver description on the download page just copied from the 2_07_0004 Vista Beta driver description?
I don't understand why a newly released driver would be designed to support a Vista build from last year. Unless the Creative driver team was all hit by a bus late last year, which would actually explain quite a few things...

Excellent. I'm happy to see that not only was the supported build corrected, there is also now actually some information about what works and what doesn't. Progress, no matter how small it is, is always refreshing around here.
I don't think my statement was too far out of line. I was just trying to figure out why only such an old build was supported. I'll try to keep my sense of humor under control in the future.
I didn't have a chance to download the driver this morning, so I didn't see the included readme file.
I'm off to try to install the Vista driver now, which appears to support the Elite Pro, unlike the recent XP driver.

Changing the vista drive icon...

Alright, I've made custom icons for my OS X drive, and my VISTA drive on my desktop...
However, I know it wont let me change it through the get info method... so I've tried

it shows that i have ._USB (my thumb stick)
and ._Untitled and VISTA (with no ._)
so i've tried doing the cp ._USB with ._Untitled ._VISTA and VISTA, and none worked. what am I doing wrong?

I am a little confused by all of the above detail, but I assume you are wanting to label the Vista partition so that it shows up with something other than untitled in OS X. To do this requires that the change be made on the Vista side of things.
Boot into Vista and right click on the drive. Rename at the top of that first screen. You will get a message about administrator authentication. Just click OK. The change should reflect instantly on the Vista side, and after a few seconds the next time you boot into OS X.
Any changes that require writing to the Vista partition must happen within Vista. Vista is an NTFS partition, and OS X can only read the partition.

When is the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor vista driver coming. This is becoming ridiculous...

To add to Cat's message ... some customers are finding solutions (for the video functionality):
I have used the follwoing procedure to install a working configuration of the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor in a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
() Download from Creative Labs (US) site: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ the following files:
(a) Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver .00.0060 - USBVS_PCDRV_LB__00_0060.exe (from the Vista section)
(b) VidCap for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor .00.000 - A2VX_PCVDE_L9__00_000.exe (from the WinXP section)
(2) Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the file (b) and extract the folders \DrvInst and \Vidcap into your Vista Downloads folder.
(3) Connect the Video Editor to the power supply and a video source; connect the USB cable to your PC. Ignore the "Found NEw Hardware" dialog that pops up.
(4) Doubleclick on file (a) to install the Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver, and follow prompts as required; accept all defaults. After install is complete, let the PC reboot.
(5) After rebooting, in the "Found New Hardware" dialog that appears, select the options to search for a driver, don't go online to search, browse for a driver and point the search at the \DrvInst folder you extracted in (2) above. The USB video driver will be installed from the \DrvInst\Video\Driver\Win2k.
(6) After the video driver is installed, doubleclick on the Setup.exe file in the \Vidcap folder you extracted in (2) above to install the Vidcap application.
(7) Setup the options in Vidcap, and run a test recording.
Happy capturing under Vista.

SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS VE Vista Driv

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Video Editor and am running vista business, i have installed the latest creative Drivers and have been waiting for months for creative to release PROPER WORKING FULLY FUNCTIONAL VISTA DRIVERS,? so that this product can work as its meant to work. I have been advised that drivers are being worked on and that they should be released soon. Its been 6-8 months and still no drivers that can deli'ver the functionality i expect in a $600 sound card, when i purhcased this product, there was a vista logo located with this product descrition saying it is supported and is vista ready, quite clearly it is not. I need accurate information on the following questions:?. Is there a creative team in fact working on a fully functional vista driver for this product.2. When will this vista driver be released?3. Will this driver deli'ver a fully functional product?Do not reply to this with some crappy template response as this will infuriate me, please reply with logic as i am a paying customer and have been for many years, i expect respect and i expect the truth from creative on this occassion. Please advise and escalate this matter to the MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE, if you cannot then provide me with the correct contact details and i will do it myself.

We do not have plans to support Vista for Video Editor.
However, if you check the discussion on the Forum (primarily in the Video area) you will see that the audio portion can work due to the Vista support for the Audigy 2 ZS line and for the video portion, check the info on how to make it work. It works with Vista 32bit.

Hello, i've had my Creative Live Motion working fine under Vista for weeks until today after i have uninstalled the Logitech Quickcam software from my computer (as it doesn't work with my Sphere only the new Sphere MP). After that the Creative driver stopped working, i have searched around on internet and in this forum and looks like everybody have the same problem under Vista. after having tried everything else I have decided to reinstall the latest Logitech Vista driver :http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/do...,contentid=003 and then the 2000/xp driver for the Live Motion from Creative website which finally installed correctly and is again working fine. I have developped webcamXP and i've been using this driver under Vista for days without interruptions and without any problems, everything is working fine including the directX functions to control the pan and tilt through software. Why in the world would a person use 2 soundcards makes no sense to me .Onboard sound is crap i have never liked it ......,boards should come empty no network? card or audio because that crap they use on the motherboard is a crap . I have all that crap on my board disabled because i have a fibre home network . I see no use for copper either the cable companys should all go fibre they don't want the initial cost because they are cheap .Fibre will last alot longer than copper .We arein the year 2009 not the 70's come on .

XFi Xtreme Music Audio is crackly when running Camfrog (Vista drive

My?Winamp and someitmes WMP audio is crackly when I run Camfrog (webchat software). It's fine when I don't run Camfrog. I've checked my settings, system resources, drivers, nothing's helped. I'm running verion 5.33. My other system specs are:
Dell Dual Core 2.8 GHz CPU
2 Gb RAM
Sound Blaster XFi Etxreme Music (with latest Vista drivers)
Windows Vista Home Premium (fully updated)
Could this be because Winamp is not fully Vista compatible? Is it a problem with the XFi Vista Driver? Any help would be appreciated, and thanks. XTrail

I have the same Problem under Vista64, under Vista32 i didn't have the cracking sound at all.
Somewhere in this Forum there is a Thread, who says it has to do with the 4Gig Ram other Thread says it has to do with the driver them self.
I just found a workaround to avoid the cracking in going to the Hardware Manager inside Vista and disable the sound card, then enable it again and change the Sound Quality setting in your Playback device to 24bit or 6bit, a change is necessary then hit the Test button if it crack start from the beginning again till it doesn't crack anymore.
I know this solution is really a bad one but it works. Most of the time x disable and enabling will solve it but sometimes i have to do it twice.
If anyone has a better solution or workaround pls post it!

Speaker Calibrator with Latest Vista Driver (1/1

My original Vista driver for my Audigy 2 ZS timed out over the weekend, so I downloaded and installed the new one. Unfortunately, now I only get sound out of one speaker (the front-left one) on my 7. speaker setup. And every time I try to run the speaker calibrator to fix this, I receive the following error message:?Error obtaining Calibrator Interface!? Please install and register CTSCAL.DLL. I haven't been able to find any information related to this error message on Google or in the Creative knowledge base. Does anyone else know what's going on or how to fix it's? I'd really like to be able to hear at least STEREO sound again, and preferably 7.!

I don't think any of the cd's software works with the newer drivers. I think all that works right now is the driver, the new MediaSource Player, and the new cd update for MediaSource. Try uninstalling everything and then just install the driver package and the new MediaSource Player and the cd update for it. You'll get AudioConsole. Unfortunately you'll also find that DVD Dolby Decoding has been removed, as well as the EAX stuff with the exception of the environments for old games that don't use EAX. The MediaSource Player will also only rip and encode to burn in Wave or Windows Media Formats unless you purchase a Creative AudioCodec plugin. A user here who probably had the cd stuff installed found that the new player does do mp3 encoding for free if the older software is on the system. Since that stuff doesn't work on Vista I decided not to install it, or all its stupid background processes that can't be turned off since the software won't open. (Well, we can delete the items from the registry run key I suppose.)?Make sure that when you uninstall the driver in Device Manager you check the box that tells it to remove all related files and software. I would reboot, remove the Multimedia Audio Device that will be in Device Manager after Vista fails to find a driver when it automatically tries. Then restart again and let it fail to install the driver. (Let it automatically try then fail.)? Then install the latest download. Some have had the installer not recognize a Creative SoundBlaster Hardware (a noted problem historically with Creative installers). I think resetting the Device Manager as I suggested might jog the registry so that the Creative installer will work. Cross your fingers. If not, extract the download and run the DriverSetup.exe from the Driver folder, restart twice, then run the Setup (the original download) again. It will then probably uninstall the driver, restart the computer, install the new driver and then AudioConsole. Don't restart right away when that is finished. Let Windows boot up, then restart the computer. Things should work fine after that. I'm using the new driver on a fresh Vista Business install and it sounds great. I need to adjust bass and treble from the Windows controls or the WMP EQ though, as the AdvancedEQ is not there. So, you set up your speaker configuration from Creative AudioConsole, and the rest from the Windows Mixer and playback and recording devices Windows control. Don't run the Windows speaker setup. It just messes things up (don't even open the button). You should get 5. (or whatever you have).

I recently got given a Technika Bluetooth dongle, model: TechBlue1 and it isn't supported by Vista.
Is there any updates or drivers that will allow this?

What makes you think that. OpenAL works just fine on Audigy cards. Playing BF2 in vista sounds just the same as in XP on my A4.
