Vista Drivers for the Audigy 2ZS Video Editor

OK, so I know I'm only one of 20 people in the world who were ever stupid enough to buy one; but I am disappointed to see that there is so far no Vista beta driver support for the device.
Are there plans to ever support it under Vista?
As half of the internals are an Audigy 2ZS sound card for which Creative are developing Vista drivers, the job is surely half done? Modifying the existing USB video capture driver surely can't be too difficult?
Must say, that if this device is ignored under Vista, it will be the last Creative product I ever buy .....
Nigel

I wish someone from Creative would give a definiti've answer to this question.
I've had the Video Editor for about a year so it's hardly old technology, and Vista was in development last Summer. The Audigy ZS sound drivers are being developed for Vista, how diffcult can it be to get the Video drivers modified to run under Vista?

  • What about the vista drivers for the audigy seri

now that the xifi vista drivers are out, when can we expect the (non-beta) vista drivers for the audigy series?

Actually, you can use the X-Fi-Drivers for the A2ZS. Simply unpack the install-file (e.g. with WinRAR) and run the setup.exe in the "Drivers"-folder. The Audio-Console will be installed too, you'll find it in your "windows/system32"-folder by the name "CtPanel.exe". I use the x64-bit version of Windows Vista, so the AudioConsole for this version couldn't see the installed Audigy-driver for some reason. After I've copied the CtPanel.exe from "yourunpackedinstallfolder/Drivers/wdm/common/i386" to the System32-folder, the Console worked as it should.Because the Console has not the best variety of the options, I've also tried to install the creative-programms from my CD. I could install the "Speaker-Settings"-tool, and it works fine. But the Surround-Mixer seems not to work under Vista, mooving the sliders has no affects on the real volume. I hope, Creative will release the good-working Software-Suite for Windows Vista, I really don't want to argue with the Audio-Console.Message Edited by theLost on 03-08-2007:28 AM

  • Vista drivers for the Libretto U100?

I've read reports on the net of people running Vista on UMPC's such as the Samsung Q1, given that the spec of these units is lower than the Libretto it's got me thinking to install Vista on the Libretto... are Toshiba planning to release any Vista compatible drivers for the U100?
I realise it's a rare device but it'd be a nice showcase device.
    thanks.

Hi, yes, I realise the Libretto is end-of-life... which is a crying shame, it's a fantastic device.
Well, to answer my own question I loaded my Vista Business Upgrade on my Libretto U100 last night. I've previously upgraded the Libretto to 1Gb of RAM and Vista upgraded without complaint. It doesn't run Glass, the particular model of Intel graphics on the Libretto is not compatible... but the OS itself seems to run well enough.
Everything so far seems to be working... network (wired and wireless) is detected and I can connect easily to my WPA protected WLAN, the graphics drivers set the resolution and colour depth correctly and sound is working.
Hibernate and suspend behave normally (as tested so far) ... the only thing I haven't tried is Bluetooth.
    Hurrah.

  • Where are the Vista drivers for the WoW Wireless headset?

I just got the World of Warcraft wireless headset - but the link in the quick start (http://www.soundblaster.com/WorldofW...irelessHeadset) does not direct me to a VALID Windows driver web site.
It has two links - one for Windows (which explicitly states that it supports Vista), one for Mac. Both take me to the Mac driver package.
When I use the "Software AutoUpdate" to find the right drivers, it tells me that "Windows Vista is currently not supported"
How do I get the Vista (64bit) drivers for this thing?
I want to use it, but if I can't get drivers - I'll have to return it.
(to make things more annoying, the support page http://support.creative.com/contactus/ is 404)

    http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/D..._1_01_0001.exe
    Try that direct link.

In Reason 3.0 I try to use the "ASIO USB Sound Blaster Audio" as the Audio Card Driver.
I set the ASIO parameters by opening the Creative ASIO USB control panel
I have tried a lot of different parameters configurations but always ends up with "cracking sound".
Most obvious possible solution was to change the buffer size: I tried several values from min 4ms up to max 50ms without success.
Also tried sample 44.1 48 96 KHz without success.
    Also tried 16 & 24 bits ...
    Also changed 2in/2out, 2in/4out, ... same story
Note that the sound is excellent if I use the "DX SB Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor" but I loose the capability to use 8 outputs and low latency!!!
Any idea on what can be wrong?
When playing back/mixing w/ reason, you should be able to use higher ASIO I/O latency settings, something between 10 and 100 ms (depending on track count, etc.).
When recording from external device and like to use monitoring, then use lower latency settings (I don't know if you can freeze tracks in Reason, but if you can, and you have plenty of tracks in your project, then try freeze those not important for recording).
Have you checked, if USB controller you're using for Audigy, is conflicting/shared w/ some other devices/controllers?

  • Vista Drivers for 975x PUE?

So I've decided I've procrastinated enough and I'm going to install the latest Vista beta. Are there Vista drivers for the 975X PUE yet?

Quote from: Vaniireq on 15-November-06, 12:35:18
    I tried Vista beta...
    I hated it..
    I am a gamer..
I have a good pc and nice graphics card but...
Games run much slower on Vista..
    Frame rates are terrible...
Even with the Vista Nvidia drivers, games were terrible..
    A word to the wise:
If you play games or do graphic stuff, stay away from Vista since even Microsoft admits that right now, gaming will be slower on Vista...
    Hope that helps someone...
    Be safe and have fun...
Of course it runs slower. It's a new OS. It takes more resources to run. That's the way it's always been. I remember when XP came out, and everyone was horrified that the minimum was 128, and they didn't understand why everything was so slow on that monster machine that ran so fast under 98.

  • Vista drivers for Satellite Pro U400 series

    Hi,
I have a U400-142 (PSU45E) Sat Pro laptop. My IT guy wiped Vista off it (against my wishes) and stuck on XP. He even gave me a XP recovery disc! I've now removed XP and stuck back on Vista. Sadly the drives for Vista Business don't seem to be on the Toshiba Website (only XP). Does anyone know where I can get the drives or can supply them.
    Thanks

    Hi
I think the Vista drivers for the Satellite Pro U400 (PSU45E) will come soon.
So check from time to time the Toshiba European driver page because the drivers can be released in the next couple of days.
Please give me a feedback if you will find the drivers!!!

  • Where can I find Vista 64-Bit drivers for the Satellite A100-049?

I currently run Vista Home Premium SP1 32-Bit and do so because there appears to only be 32-Bit drivers on Tosiba's website:
    [http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?macId=&mode=allMachines&userOS=& action=search&selCategory=2&selFamily=2&selSeries= 153&selProduct=700&selOS=2]
Where can I find Vista 64-Bit drivers for the Toshiba Satellite A100-049?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
That's rubbish. Vista 64-bit runs fine with 2Gb and my laptop supports up to 4Gb.
We'll never move on to 64-Bit if companies don't provide drivers.
I'll look at those sites. I've had trouble installing nVidia drivers from nVidia website.
I have to use the one provided by Toshiba.
Hopefully I won't find this when trying 64-Bit. My plan is to go 64-Bit with Windows 7 so no rush just yet.
As I understand it Vista drivers will work with Windows 7.
Thankfully when I reinstalled Vista 32-Bit not long ago using an OEM from Technet I only need 2-3 drivers from Toshiba website, most of it they give to download you don't need at all.
    Thanks again.
p.s - They do offer 64-Bit drivers for my network card though.

  • Vista Beta Drivers for the Modem Blaster V.92 Serial DE5

I was wondering if there are any beta drivers available for the Modem Blaster V.92 Serial DE562? Thank You, Mike...

Holly cow... a v.92 modem! Christ that's from like, the 90's! You an old timer/ludite by any chance
You could probably get broadband for less.
Regardless, i very much doubt you'll ever find drivers for this piece of kit.
I think it's amazing creative have stated they'll develop Vista drivers for such old hardware.
If you're using the x86 (32bit) version of Vista then the Win XP drivers might work.
If, however, you're using x64 (64bit) you're stuffed. On top of that if you take a look at the manual selection bit down the bottom f the page on the left, you'll see Vista's just not a selectable option.
But it REALLY is time for you to jump on the broadband train man! Low end connections are so cheap and still would be a gazillion times faster than what you're currently using.

  • New Vista drivers for my £210 X-Fi Elite plea

built a new rig P5E core 2, Geforce 8800 gt, The sound card which came with the motherboard, a pcie version no less, was like listening to sound with ear mufflers, so I decided to get a Fatality xfi sound card, it did sound better but not as good as my old audigy 4, so in a moment of madness I spent money on the xfi elite pro. It sounded great, better than the audigy 4.
With Asio plug-in and foorbar in content creation mode, mp3 and wave files sounded as good as or even better than some high end cd players. I thought this was the perfect card, but when I plugged in my microphone, I started to get very bad feedback noise. The recording port at the back of the card has got some expensi've ADC doing the work. So why was I getting the excessi've interference noise when recording sounds with my mic. I was going to return the thing but due to the good sound quality I decided to keep it and pull out the mic. I am using a webcam mic for online chat. It doesn't sound as good but it works without any problems i.e. no hiss or feedback.
I decided to upgrade to windows Vista sp, everything is running much faster than xp. I have 4g of ram and windows Vista's superfech really speeds up everything when there is 4g of ram. Creative Xfi drivers for Vista suck compared to Xp drivers. The sound quality had changed big time. Everything sounds dull, and no Asio support.
Creative can you please update the Vista drivers for my Xfi elite pro, which cost me ?20.
In the past I have spent a lot of my money on creative sounds cards: SoundBlaster li've, Audigy , 2 and 4. Mainly because at the time it felt like creative were bring exciting and innovating technology out on a regular basis. But now it has been more than 3yr since creative has released any new high end hardware and there driver team seems retarded. If creative doesn't release better drivers for the xfi elite pro card by the end of the year, I will never buy another creative sound card or any of their other product again. That is a promise.

I also got the X-fi elite pro, cost me a lot of money. You'd think there will be some good support with that. In XP everything works great but i'd really like to make the step to Vista.
I really don't get how there current top model sound card isn't fully supported by the more and more populair Windows Vista, that's just stupid. Never had any problems with Creative before this, but the last few days have really been an eye-opener. If they don't release some proper drivers soon (or at least say they are working on them) i'll be done with Creative too.

    <span class="postdetails">Windows Vista Drivers for 820 and 66
I hate to say this about E-MU but the way they are dealing with Vista Drivers is unprofessional. I am a repeat customer of Creative products and was so impressed by my old Platinum eX that I bought a second to run duals for tons of audio processing. That was back in the day. Then I jumpped ship and tried out an M-Audio Firewire 40. That did not last too long beforei was completely unimpressed. So I came back to Creative... Purchased a 820 in the box. So impressed I turned around and purchased a 66 in the box just 8 months later. Both ran smooth as butter... All until i just recently built my new system designed primarily with audio production in mind.
With a setup like this, who needs a mac?
    AMD Athlon X2 x64 Dual Core +6000 3.0 Ghz
    2 Gigs Corsair
Samsung SyncMaster 206BW 2" Wide Screen
    EVGA NVidia 9700s 256 DDR3 Graphics
    SATAs up the yin
and a PCIMIA to PCI Dock
    All under Vista Ultimate OEM
    And Guess what?
    Months into RTM of Vista...
E-MU is caught pushing release dates.
Last month it said they would release beta drivers middle of April...
I waited, patiently I might add.
I waited<waited some more, I try running xp drivers... computer wont even try to install them properly.
My software waits, computer waits, turns into a gameing machine just because my all together 600 dollar investments in Creative are not important enough to leld me the drivers i need to be producti've in what i love.
I need x64 drivers stat. I need them working, I need them installable without a glitch, a hitch, no driver signing problems, no questions, no fuss no muss. I find it ironic that you guys at E-MU are willing to jump right in there and make sure to have drivers compatable for you new products, yet faithful advocats of the most powerful soundcards you have are sitting here dead in the water because you dont find it nessesary to place priority on ready and waiting end users who have purchased long term support buy investing large amounts of moola into hardware from your company.
Come on, its not like the 820 or the 66 are exactly legacy technology. We are talking about Hardware that is only two years old and should be usable for up to 6 years. This is deffinatly a strike against the company and just goes to show where Creative stands.
I have stood by waiting in silence for a very long time.
Now i think my time has come to tell how i feel and i believe there are alot of others out there that feel the same. the only items that do not work soothly are my E-MUs... go figure.
And I have been looking forward to all i can do running both of them side by side.
Oh yes, and that link posted above to the beta news for vista... its a joke. open up your betas, and have a real dev tell us what the hang ups are... At least give us real concreate reasons why it is taking so long.
with that said, when you guys get yoru act together and get me some drivers, I will sit happy as a lark.
    My thoughts for today.
    ~Alpha-Beta ReaKKtor

    Hello Silas,
    sorry for my bad english
I already checked that page. On the first time I was trying to install Vista on a clean hard drive. The installation process finishes without errors but after installation Vista shows me a lot of error messages, mostly about unknown hardware. So I installed all available drivers I have found on Toshiba web site. It not helped me too much, hardware problems still remains. I could not find out what exactly causes probles. Finally I decide to install XP and then upgrade to Vista. Now everything seems to be ok. :D
There was some hardware problems but much easier to resolve. It seems to me that Toshiba did not provide all the drivers, for example StarForce Protection drivers. Vista did not recognized this hardware on the first time.
    Now it works!

  • Official release of XP and Vista drivers for Satellite Pro P100-465 PSPAEE

When will the drivers be available for both XP and Vista for the PSPAEE? Currently there are drivers for the PSPA4E some of which work, some not, on either operating system. Yes the laptop is preinstalled with the Vista Ugrade and the drivers work but two of the driver apps are blocked by Defender (NDSTRay / ConfigFree and VolControl). I could get no options to enable these (unclassified as yet from MS so they are locked out) I was told to disable Defender by tech-support!
I have tried a clean install of my own version of Vista Business and had driver problems with that as well.
I would like to run XP until Vista is, shall we say, more efficient but would like to use drivers specifically for it so a time-frame would be very useful.
I'd also like to know why there is a plug where a finger-scanner could go underneath the 0 of the number-pad, and a blocked-off lower PCMCIA (PCI-E?) port when neither of these are available as upgrade options? Did I miss those upgrade options or is this a case recycled from another model where they are available? If the latter then that's pretty cheap for a new machine :)

The Toshiba USA site offers comprehensive information on Vista upgrade and drivers for P100/105 machines which include similar ones to those released in the UK/Europe. If you want to be at the bleading edge of technology/take a chance see
