Vista drivers problems Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Noteb

First thing to do: haveyour systemchecked out, if windows says the hardware is failing there may really be something wrong with it.
If the SB card works in an XP machine there may be a problem in the the PCI slot or controller on the motherboard, either way have a tech shop look at it. If thehardware allchecks out: before putting the card back in completely delete the old driver and software, download the new one without installing it, then put the card in and windows should try to auto-install with the new driver.P.S. the platinum version is the one with thecontrol panel that slots into a dri've bay, if you have one of those, it's a platinum, if not, it's a regulHi all, how are you
I have a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ430N/B notebook, and I'm trying to install Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook on it (Unfortunately, the notebook came with windows vista business from factory).
This notebook has a Texas Instruments PCMCIA controller.
Under "Device Manager" the PCMCIA controller is described as "Texas
Instruments PCI-8x2/7x2/6x2 CardBus Controller", but on Sony's
webpage the driver that seems to be related to it is "Texas
Instruments PCI74 Integrated FlashMedia Controller Driver".
It is kind of all in one solution from Texas Instruments (PCMCIA
controller, Memory Card reader, and Firewire controller).
Please, may someone help me to answer the questions bellow
1)Are there any kind of compatibility problem between this notebook PCMCIA controller (described above), and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook
2)I've already brought this notebook to Sony's support service, so they could verify if there is any kind of hardware problem with the notebook. Sony's technician wasn't able to find any hardware problems on it, but I'm experiencing the problem described below:
2.)Every time that I plug this sound card on my notebook, and I try to install Creative's latest windows Vista drivers(Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002), thus It leads me to a Blue Screen during the driver installation process. Please, Does somebody know what could be this problem root causeIt is very weird, even if i try to install this sound card on clean windows vista install, then it leads me to blue screen. Besides, I have another PCMCIA card from another manufacturer, and I was able to install its windows vista drivers with no problem.(It sounds that Creative labs' vista drivers is the problem root cause as I've tested this sound card on a different notebook with windows xp and It worked fine).
3)Does anyone know if creative is planning to release a windows vista driver that allows the users to use all of this sound card featuresSo far the latest driver available doesn't support even DVD-Audio. Have creative labs discontinued this product
I appreciate any help you can give me,
thanks in advance,
Rogerr ZS.

The best advice I can give is to fully remove ALL Creative software. We've compiled a list of entries that will cause problems here. It's very important before installing newer files.http://nomoregoatsoup.wordpress.com/...tall-problems/Then install some better drivers and see if that cures your issues. The 2.2.0002 drivers are really, really awful, 99% of people I've spoken to had problems with them. I personally like 2.5.0002 Hope this helps.

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,

  • Vista and Sound Blaster Audigy

Okay I am getting desperate. I have been searching all over for this odd occurence but I havent found anything. I am running a dual core amd processor with Vista 64-bit, 4 GB RAM, and a Sound Blaster Audigy. I purchased this card off of ebay, so I dont exactly know the model (it is the one with a firewire ( ) port on the actual card, and a tan/white i/o box that goes in my cd dri've bay; the box just plainly says Soundblaster Audigy). Anyway, the card had been working great with the drivers at first, and I then had a kernal file fail on me. Well, after recovering successfully with the Windows disc, I came back to find out my drivers had messed up. I tried many combinations of uninstalls/reinstalls, different packages, etc and nothing seems to work. However, the odd part is that sound works within the windows environment (system sounds/clicks/etc), and also through the line in on the breakout box, AND in FLStudio/Reason/Windows Media Player. However, I am not able to get sound through flash movies, Winamp, PC Games, and media things of the sort. I was wondering if anyone else has had this odd occurence, and knew how to fix it. Thank you.
    PS
The error I get on Winamp is Bad Directsound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. (I have also messed around with the Winamp output with no luck).

    Try here.
the above driver pack from Daniel Kawakami is top notch and works very well. Good bass response and I NEVER had a problem when using these in XP, Vista, Vista sp and later Vista 64 Sp and 2.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with Vista 64

0Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with Vista 64Y Hi
I'm considering buying a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with front panel) off ebay, but first I'd like to know if certain features will be compatible with my system. I'm running Vista Home Basic 64bit (hardware is an Asus P5Q-E, Q6600, 2GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD4850, etc). I'll be using this card for my PC's 5. surround sound system (using the stereo outputs), and more importantly, recording some music. I want to achieve this by using the optical S/PDIF port, as my bass guitar effects board has an S/PDIF output and I've got an S/PDIF cable. I'd also like to use the Line In and Mic inputs. The driver before the latest one for this card said that there was no S/PDIF passthrough for Vista. Has the latest driver got everything I need fixed, so I can just plug it in, install the drivers and then be happily recording through these three inputs?
    Thanks for the help?

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

  • Sound blaster Audigy 2 zs gamer problem!

(Sound blaster Audigy 2 zs gamer problem!? I had a recent problem recently that caused Windows not to load at all. After getting that fixed and the computer back home I have run into a sound issue. None of the Creative's Media Source programs would work properlly. When clicked on I would get the error that the program has encountered an error and needs to close. Finally un-installed all creative programs and related software and went through the re-install process. Encountered an error that program could not load because plxcore.plx cannot be found. I went through the solution listed on?Creative's web site to fix the?issue and none of fixes worked. Recently deleted everything Creative again by uninstalling all drivers and going through the installshield folder and deletd all creative related items. Went through the install process again. Had the plx error, fixed it and had sound but had the same problems with the Media SOurce as before. Went to Creative's web site through auto updater for a new driver and other essential items needed for my sound. Back to no sound again. Under Windows control panel under sounds and audio devices under volume tab, it will not even let me select the speaker setting or place the volume control on the task bar. @99.3.9.75

Try updating your BIOS to the latest and have the sound card tested on another machine to see if it is still functioning.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Problem

    Ok I am finally stumped.
    Specs
    KT800Neo
    Athlon 64 3200+
    512MB 400Mhz DDR
    2 x 120GB Segate HD
    AIW 9800 Pro
    Win XP Pro Sp 1
    Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
    MSI 52x32x52 CD-RW
    TDK DVD Recorder
I have tried a million ways to get this stupid soundcard to work, and to no avail.
I downloaded the newest drivers from soundblaster.com and it says it can't even detect the audigy however it shows up in my unknown device detecter.  I tried other Audigy drivers that have been unified for 5.1 plat & audigy plat.  Same results.  I then went to my old install CD that came with the sound card and it works.  However my live drive is not being enabled for some reason.  I have tried hooking up a 5.1 Live Drive and nothing as well.
I don't have any sound drivers for anything onboard releated installed.
I tried the Kx Drivers for giggles and they installed and even got closer with my Inspire 6.1's working a bit better, however live drive still not working correctly.
My 1394 Net Adapter 1 & 2 are not loaded (drivers) ! mark by the both of them, they tell me to run the trouble shooter 2 says the device drive couldn't load due to old install being in the system, however I have removed these devices before and tried to do something.
ATM I really need to get this sound card functional so any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks

First time in my life a motherboard worries me before I start playing with it.  I have been waiting for my K8T Neo to arrive for two weeks and had time to read numerous reviews and forum.
I validated almost every piece of hardware I’m using, including the sound card (Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum) against the list of hardware tested in MSI’s test report.  My sound card was supposed to be supported but we all know the story…
Anyway, I was pleased when I booted for the first time my PC (after disabling the onboard sound) to succeed where many of us failed.  I even managed to install Windows XP SP1 without any trouble.  I also installed all the latest versions of the drivers, except for my Audigy, for which I installed the driver that came on the accompanying CD.  I had no trouble with the stereo sound.
Trouble came when I tested the surround sound.  I experienced the same thing as goretexpretzels: no sound from the rear channels…  I then updated with the latest version of the drivers/mixer but same crap.
I will perform some tests and try with a non-SP1 version of XP to see if it resolves the problem, but I sincerely hope that MSI will come out with a BIOS patch or a workaround before long.
I’m already starting to regret for not having stayed with Abit after all those years of reliable computing…

  • Sound Blaster Audigy + Logitech G51 problem

Before I replaced the motherboard, graphics card, and processor, I had the SB Audigy [8000] version of the software for my Creative Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. All of the new versions I have downloaded, including the old one, are now [BF00]. Also for some reason, the drivers on the CD install [BF00] as well. Previously it didn't. I have the Logitech G5 surround sound speakers, and when I try to use the Matrix mode in-game, only some speakers will work. When I turn off the matrix, it becomes more surround sound, but I still do not hear some things - It shouldn't be doing this when the matrix is not turned on. When the matrix is not turned on, you would only be able to hear from the front left and right speakers only. When not playing a game, the Matrix seems to work fine, however when I don't have it turned on, I still get surround sound. Again, that shouldn't be happening.
The Matrix mode in game seems to not play all of the sounds in-game, and while not in-game, I still get surround sound without the matrix mode on. This shouldn't be happening; I should only be getting the sound from the front left and right speakers when the matrix is not turned on.
Outside of games, when I turn the bass and treble via the sound controls by the time display all the to the max (Not the acutal volume control for the speakers) it sounds garbled. Before this, that wouldn't happen.
Its all worth mentioning that for some reason, my computer does not have the " Audio Device on Definition Audio Bus " driver installed. My computer cannot find the drivers for it though.
With the [8000], when you didn't have the matrix turned on, you would only be able to hear the two speakers in the front. I cannot find the [8000] version online. Does anyone have any idea what the cause of this is?
Any comments are welcome, thank you

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Drivers and Applications CD-Rom

Does anyone know where I can get or download?the "Sound Blaster Audigy" "Drivers and applications" CD-rom?
I have included a pic below:
    <img alt="cd-rom" src="http://www.geocities.com/pershingbpa/soundblastercd.jpg" align="left[/img] width="70" height="705">

    jay23,
First extract the RAR file you downloaded using WinRar. During the extraction, WinRar will create an ISO file which is an image of the installation CD. If you don't want to burn that ISO file to a CD, then download and install MagicDisc from the link I gave above. MagicDisc lets you mount an ISO file as a virtual hard dri've. You should be able to install from that virtual CD just as if it were a real hard copy CD, but I've never tried that so can't say for certain.

  • Trying to install the latest Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS drivers do not inst

I have tried the autoupdate feature here it says I have installed (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, DR release .84.0). I downloaed the 3 latest drivers for my SOund Card (SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, sba2_pcwdrv_lb__84_55-r.exe and SBA2_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000.exe) when I try to install these it tells me I do not have a Audigy 2 Sound Card and goes no further, can anyone please explain why?
    Thank you.

If you're using a dynamic microphone, the Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay has a jumper which you can change for it to support dynamic microphones instead of electret microphones. However once this is done you won't be able to use electret mics until you've changed the jumper setting back.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE problems

Alright first of all I am new to Linux in general.
I have two soundcards in my computer. One is an onboard card (Intel) that is faulty and doesn't work; another is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE which does work.
My problem, of course, is getting the latter to work.
So I realize this is nothing new, searching the forums and reading ALSA's wiki. However there seems to be some issues with making this work on ALSA, so is there a way to configure this with OSS?
"lspci | grep audio" returns both soundcards:
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
01:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs CA0106 Soundblaster

Basically it seems like it detects the crappy onboard sound (which is unusable, I stress) and not my soundcard. I really don't know how to fix/configure this and sound is really important to me if I'll be using Arch.
Thanks for any help offered, if more information about something is needed I'll be more than happy to oblige.

I would start by disabling the on board sound in your BIOS if you are not going to use it.  As a novice user much of the documentation kind of covers the simpler case and this might help you navigate them better.
Keep in mind the Audigy SE is not a real Audigy (like Audigy 2 which has very good linux support).  If you are just looking for straightforward playback you should have no trouble, but you will not get hardware mixing with SE IIRC.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy? 2 ZS Video Editorc Hello.
    I've recently changed from WinXP Pro SP3 x86 to Win7 Ultimate x64.
After installing the only available driver [Beta .0.0098] and rebooting, the Device Manager still lists an Unknown Device which corresponds to the video part.
