  • Vista flash player install issues

Hi All, this is my first post on here and as most people, only here because I am in need of some help. I have been trying to update/ install flash player onto my system Vista home prem 32 bit after a failed update around 4 weeks ago. I am told that I do not have admin rights to complete the install, which I do! I have tried may different help tips including safe mode (pc and firefox) new account on both with admin rights and runniong exe as admin all to no avail. I will admit being a bit of a fumbler when it comes to this sort of thing but I am trying. Any help greatfully received. All was going well until the 11 update, since then i have uninstalled all prev versions I tried to re-install again today and now, despite being told the install did not finish, that  flash player 11.4 r402 has stopped working, which in turn freezes my firefox until closed but repeatedly pops up.
    Thanks

Which installers have you tried so far?  Please try to do a clean install and let me know if there are any files/folders that are unable to be deleted.
How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?

    http://s-oh.sakura.ne.jp/fp.png
    Flash10b.ocx がポイントなのでしょうか?
    なんとなく、ActiveXと関係があるのでは、とも思っているのですが。
    もしくは、アドビサポートにある対処法で試していないものが一つあるのですが、
    (下記URL)
    http://www.adobe.com/jp/support/kb/ts/233/ts_233086_ja-jp.html

    Flash Playerのトラブル以外に最近遭遇するトラブルはありませんか?
    問題を切り分ける意味でもお試しになってみてください。

  • I have vista OS and a game on facebook says need adobe flash player 12.0.02 or later. I have version 15 and it's not bringing it up. What could be wrong?

I'm trying to play a game on facebook, but when I go to play it, it comes up with a message saying I need to install adobe flash player 12 or later. I installed version 15 but it still keeps getting that message to install version 12 or later. I checked in my control panel under programs installed and it shows that adobe flash player 15 active x listed. So why won't the game see it? Do I need an older version of adobe flash? Maybe version 12, if so where can I find it. I tried to find 12 but every site keeps taking me to 15.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium OS. I have Firefox version 32.

    Hello,
You might not have the plugin for Firefox installed. Adobe has two different versions of Flash - one for Internet Explorer and another for Firefox. Internet Explorer uses ActiveX. You can check if Firefox has the plugin by going to:
    * Tools > Add-ons > Plugins, or
    * [Image: New Fx Menu] > Add-ons > Plugins
In Firefox, go to this link and Adobe should give you right correct installer:
    * https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If for whatever reason it is not choosing the correct OS for you, you can manually select Windows Vista and "Other Browsers" here:
    * https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

  • Cannot install Flash Player plug-in on Windows Vista through Mozilla Firefox

I own a Windows Vista basic version laptop and am currently browsing with Mozilla Firefox. Everytime I try to install the missing plug-in for Adobe Flash Player (the lego image) on the Flash Player homepage it pops up as Flash Player 10.0.45.2 and I agree to the terms of use and click "Install" but then I am asked what I want to open the file with and I don't know what file it is associated with on my computer (My computer often has this problem with .exe files though) . If I close the "Open With" box the installation says failed and gives me an option to "manual install, but when I go to the Adobe Flash Player site (with all other browser windows closed of course), and click "agree and download" a small box with a loading green bar pops up titled "Installing Adobe Download Manager" and stays there for about 2 minutes but nothing ever happens when I am redirected to the "Thank You" page afterwards, no dialog box w/ run or save ever pops up. I have added "get.adobe.com" to my allowed installation add-ons and pop-ups are also allowed on this page but nothing happens. I appreciate any input for my problem...Thanks

Hi, thanks for the update of info. In that case I would download this Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer to your
    Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe  When this window opens, SAVE it to your Desktop.
Before Running, Close all browsers, disable any applications that use Flash(check system tray-area of clock), make sure
in Internet Explorer>Internet Options that Security is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
Now your Anti=Virus/Firewall can block the Install of the Flash Player ActiveX Control that must be installed. You may want to Disable those also. Windows Firewall is ok, no need to Disable it.
After Installing, make sure to Reboot(restart) your computer. Then go to this test site:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Then using IE, go to Tools>Manage Add ons and check All add ons for Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control..Flash10e.ocx(version 10.0.45.2) and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
If you have any questions or comments prior to beginning, just post back.
    Thanks,

  • I need to know how to run Flash Player in a Vista 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit O.S.

Help please !  I have been reading for days, trying everything to find the answer to my dilemma, which BTW is making it impossible to use our new computer now. Every other minute it seems I get the message that I need to run Flash Player in a VISTA 32-bit browser which is actually running on a 64-bit operating system.  Do I have to uninstall a program (what and where is it) and then instal something else (from where etc.)?
Give me back our XP!  I get the idea that Adobe keeps SAYING they are developing a platform for Adobe Flash to run on a 64-bit, but I fear that is only a stall. Who is responsible for helping neophytes?  No matter how many times I have tried to contact Adobe, it is a joke.  One time, even though I do not have a subscription for service, the poor man took pity on me.  But his Indian accent was so severe I have ZERO idea what he was saying.  Can one of you wonderful, erudite, helpful people out there give me the solution in computer language 101?? I will be forever grateful.  I wish our computer "guru" had been smart enough to give us the pros and cons when he suggested Vista and 64..... When I am asked for a serial number even I have no earthly idea how to get that either.  I feel completely HELPLESS  and SLEEPLESS in Tucson.   Thanks SOOOO much to whomever can get me going in the right direction. (Forgive my LONG message.  I had to vent.  I feel better.) CLOWG

    Hi Clowg,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  Unfortunately, I don't believe the folks here on this forum will be able to help you with your issue.  Have you tried posting on the Flash Player forum?

  • Flash Player not working on Vista 64 Bit

I too am having extreme difficulty w/ installing the new flash player.  At first I didn't know I had too.  Two days ago I was watching a show on YouTube, and last night it said I needed to install the latest version.
Windows Vista Home Edition 64 Bit
Preferred browser Mozilla Foxfire / secondary browser Internet Explorer
I did all the uninstalls and removed files from the download directory.
I followed all instructions making sure I chose the appropriate download version for 64 bit.
    Below is what I chose:
Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 (16.9 MB)
Your system: Windows 64-bit , English, Firefox
Do you have a different operating system or browser?
I downloaded, saved and ran it.  Made sure all Firefox windows were closed including weather network.  Then it stated 'installation complete'.
I went to YouTube and then it said I had to install the Flash Player.  I did this too.  Still, nothing worked.  I am somehow being forced to upgrade a perfectly good computer?
I hope this can be resolved.  I read through everyones comments, tried them all and still nothing.

    Surprise to me!!! It worked!!!
I decided to try for the 87th time and it finally worked.  What I did was (incase someone else wants to try this) well, it worked for me ... thought I did this before ...
    Uninstalled all flash players
Deleted all flash players from download directory
Deleted deleted items from garbage bin (you never know)
    Re-started the PC
Went to YouTube and it prompted me to install a Flash Player - did this and guess what ... it worked!  Only 5 hours in ...
Now, if I can just figure out how to properly use my new sewing machine hem foot and try to finish measuring (after 8 times) the duvet I am sewing then I will be well on my way!
They say it comes in three's.  Had mine.  Done !
    Good luck everyone!

The following information would be useful:
    - A direct link to the video / videos where you encountered the crash
    - Your Operating System and Version
    - Your Browser and Version
    - The Version of Flash Player (right-click on Flash content, look in the context menu)
Do you see the crash in only your preferred browser, or all browsers.  (The Flash Player for Firefox/Safari/Opera, Chrome and Internet Explorer are all significantly different.  Isolating it to one or more browsers is useful in understanding the root cause.)
Have you tried the video troubleshooting guide?  If so, please detail the steps you took and the results you saw.  This is extremely useful in isolating a root-cause.
    Video playback issues
If you're encountering the crash in Firefox, a direct link to the crash report would be extremely useful:
In the address bar, type about:crashes
You'll see a list of links with random letters and numbers
Click the first link.  It will take you to a crash report page.  Hit back, and the link will change to start with bp- and a new set of letters and numbers.
Right-click that link, and choose Copy Link Location.
Paste it into a reply here.
Repeat for the first few if you have multiple crashes.
    Thanks!

  • Are there settings in firefow that will allow me to use adobe flash player 11 with my vista 64-bit os

Adobe flash player 11 does not work with 64-bit vista - is there a fix? it works with 64-bit windows 7. When I try to watch videos, I get the message 'this video is no longer available' - I cannot find access to previous versions

You already have Shockwave Flash 11.0 r1 installed according to your plugins list and it should work on Windows Vista. What do you see when you try the [http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Flash Player test link]?
You said, ''I get the message 'this video is no longer available''' when you try to watch videos. Is that the complete message and do you see it for all videos you try to play, for example, at YouTube.com?
You also said that you ''cannot find access to previous versions.'' The [http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer Adobe Flash Player forum] has links to Flash 10 for Windows, here:
    * http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580
...but before you try reverting to Flash 10, see if this Adobe article is helpful:

  • Is Flash Player 11.7.700.224 really compatable with Windows Vista 64-bit?

I ask this question because under System Requirements, Window Vista 64-bit isn't listed.  I've inserted the link for the system requirements below...
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html
I'm trying to figure why my Flash Player disappears from time to time when I'm watching a clip/video and then my Internet Explorer 9 typically stops working, it closes down, and then it opens up and asks me if I want to restore the browsing session.  I'm thinking that this has to do with having both Internet Explorer 9 32-bit and 64-bit.  I read online that Internet Explorer 9 has both and this is why I'm questioning whether Flash Player 11.7.700.224 might be contributing to this issue or was Window Vista 64-bit left off the system requirements in error?
    Thanks!

Try using the installers from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
P.S. topic moved to the Installation section of the forum.
