Vista loosing Tables ability

Hi
I am using Dreamweaver MX
I have just purchased a new laptop (Dell) with Windows Vista.
When creating a Table I hit the 'Table' button and fill in
the requirements. Then when I click OK I get a windows warning of;
"A sharing violation occurred while accessing C:\users\AWH
Imaging\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\DreamweaverMX\Configuration\Objects\Common\Table.htm"
In Vista I can't even find this file as the folders stop at
the C:\users\AWH Imaging\ leval with general folders only availible
When this is OK'd you get a window with;
"Deamweaver encountered a fatal exception. Dreamweaver will
now terminate."
When I try the button again (or from the drop down at top of
window) nothing happens - no window to put in the table
requirements.
I have tried to reinstall Dreamweaver. Uninstalling >
reinstalling. Both with no change.
I completely reinstalled Windows Vista and the table window
opened only to get the same warning and issues when clicking OK.
Can anyone help with this as I can't see any way of fixing
this.

Which Vista are you using?
Have you looked on the Adobe site to see if there is a
technote about this?
I don't recall seeing anyone here describe such a problem,
though. And I do
not personally experience it with Vista Ultimate.

Why did my 17"Mac Book Pro loose its ability to output video through it's adaptors? I have S-Video, RC, and an HDMI adaptors that use to work and output video. At somepoint an OS upgrade stoped their functionality. Is this something I can correct? If so, any ideas as to a path to follow?

2011 and later MacBook Pros shifted to Thunderbolt.
Pre 2010 MacBook Pros may have a PRAM battery getting old.
One of these factors may exist. Not knowing the age of your MacBook Pro, I can't say for certain.

That's actually not true. Snow Leopard will only run on Intel Macs. The situation is this :
Any Mac capable of running Snow Leopard OR EARLIER will be able to run AW - Lion is the first OS that can't.
PPC Macs will run as far as Leopard 10.5.8 - they should have 1GB RAM minimum, but can run with less RAM for Tiger. They will all run AppleWorks.

Conditional Table ability or workaround?

I am attempting to edit a complex document with numerous tables containing conditional text. (With subsequent management and final document composition to be done in InDesign by placing assorted sections into a dynamic long-document.)
While tagging the text in these tables is working well, the table cells themselves are unable to be tagged as conditions.
Ideally, when a condition does not allow for text to be displayed, and no other text is to be conditionally displayed, a table cell would not be in the "Condition" either, and would not just put a blank cell or row. Would it not make sense to allow the ability to tag an entire row or column as a condition as well?
Has anyone else found either a way to tag table rows as conditional, or to workaround this issue. It will be an extremely difficult document to maintain if we cannot automatically adjust tables based upon conditional text, and must manually manage tables in InDesign later on.
Any and all help or advice would be most welcome.

AFAIK, unlike FrameMaker, InDesign cannot tag rows with conditions. Neither program can tag individual cells (although cell content can be tagged). Unless there is a script out there, the only work-around I've found is to break the larger table into separate tables without spacing to give the appearance of rows being conditional.

Itunes and Vista, loosing songs

I recently upgraded my pc to Vista Buisness (through my uni)
I installed itunes and had kept the *my music* file from XP so it found all my music again automatically.
Althrough i have been seeing that many music files in itunes have been going missing, and not just a few files, entire albums have gone missing!
i get that little "!" next to them and when i search for them i cant find them anywhere on my computer,
can anyone help? i have already lost about 5 albums so far and it keeps growing

What's missing are the specific details. I have no idea if this is on an external drive or where. Why do you keep on consolidating items? I can only guess you are doing something non-standard with using iTunes. I have had my iTunes library since before iTunes was iTunes (it was Soundjam) and I have lost almost no files.
If you keep media on an external drive you need to make sure the drive is on and fully mounted before starting iTunes.
Generally you can redownload past purchases. You need to delete the entry completely from iTunes first or iTunes will think it is still on a drive somewhere.

A frame containing table looses table info when overflow occurs!

This is a case when text frame contains a table.
when we type some content in table cell such that the size of cell increases more than the size of frame, Overflow occurs( a small '+' mark in bottom right corner of frame), and table is no more visually present in the frame.
But the problem occurs when I try to access the table property of frame via. scripting (using JSX) by using below command:
oFrame.tables.length
where oFrame is the frame object.
Note that before the overflow when we can visually see the table in frame, the above call returns '1', but once the overflow occurs(such that table is no more visually present in the frame),
the above call returns '0'.
Is this some kind of Bug in Indesign?? How can I access the table in the frame which has overflow???
Please see the screen shots below, the first one is with just one word in table cell, and next is with more text resulting in overflow.

I personally do not have iWork on any iOS device but can still ask questions that may help.
1) are the cells with URLs completely empty after opening in iWork on the iOS device?
2) can you show what the spreadsheet on the PC looks like? specifically regarding the URLs?

Multiple problems: can't open two windows, browser doesn't close although window disappears, and after working for a while I loose my ability to cut and paste or use drop down arrows

Maybe two weeks ago I discovered that I could no longer open two windows at a time (I can still open multiple tabs). I am also having problems with cutting and pasting, which is crucial to my on-line job. Plus, when I exit Firefox, it doesn't always shut down, so then when you go to re-open, of course, it won't (unless you go into process and turn it off). I have re-installed multiple times and I have also used restore. Nothing seems to be fixing this and I really, really don't want to use IE, especially for work.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Maybe also do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />

Why did Apple OS loose the ability to adjust load order of login items

In OS X.3.9 I was able to adjust the load order of log in items.
I can't do this in OS X.4.11. I would like to adjust two items Mozy and Yahoo! Widgets so that they load last. Although all my log in items including them load they hesitate while Mozy and Yahoo widgets load. I would like to make Yahoo widgets load very last and Mozy next to last.

Another approach which might work would be to delete some, most, or all of your current set of login items and replace them with a single Automator workflow, one set up to open individual applications in a predetermined order.
The workflow would be comprised solely of separate *Launch Application* actions (from Automator's Finder library) and might look like this:
1) *Launch Application* -- click the popup button and select the first application you'd like to open.
2) *Launch Application* -- select the next application you'd like to open.
3) *Launch Application* -- 3rd app.
4) *Launch Application* -- etc, etc, until you reach the last application, which could be Yahoo! Widgets.
From Automator's File menu select Save As > File Format: Application, and add the saved Automator applet to your login items.

Firefox 4.0 looses the ability to back up through links after a few link clicks. The arrows are grayed out. Running Windows 7 pro.

Seems to occur when I have multiple tabs open.

Issues with the Back button not working properly can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.

Why when my iTunes asks me to re log in I loose the ability to access my iTunes match?

Hi. Tonight I wanted to listen to my music (iTunes match) it asked me to verify my password, it then asked me to reset my password. Then when accessed only shows my purchased music. can somebody please tell me what is going on?

If you haven't already done so, you might want to sign out of iTunes Match, then sign back in. To do this in iTunes on your Mac, open iTunes and go to Store>Turn off iTunes Match, then Store>Turn on iTunes Match>Add this computer. To do turn it off on an iOS device, go to Settings>Music.

Has anybody else had problems with an iPhone 4s loosing the ability to log on to wifi. My network say is apples fault due to hardware issues in the latest release. Anyone know anymore?

Hi Chris, the problem is after the ios7.1 update my wifi will no longer connect. I contacted my network and they said they have received an email from Apple saying its a hardware issue and nothing my network can do ( soft reset, general reset or factory reset wont work and to contact apple directly. I was told that this is most common on the iPhone 4s. Online I have seen people being offered an option to buy out of warranty phones because this issue can't be fixed? That can't be correct can it?

Enabling a microphone in Vista x64 Ultim

Hello, I use audio recording mode on a xfi extreme music?since it allow for the highest playback volume by checking SVM and Crystalizer along with bass boost for 2. speakers. I have 5. speakers which sounded great in xp 32 bit, but in vista they just don't sound right so I use 2..
When I connect a microphone and I goto recording tab and change it to microphone all I can record using fraps software is the microphone. I want it to record the game voice comms and the everything happening in squad matches.
please tell me how to enable a mic without loosing the ability to record the sounds of what is happening in the game also.
Changing the recording to microphone also changes the playback to microphone when the playback should be what-u-hear

i guess creative is not fully supported for vista yet.......as my soundcard doesnt work properly as well.....i hope they can work for this as soon as possible

Windows Vista Ultimate on iMac 24" Experience

I wanted to share my experience installing Windows Vista Ultimate on my new iMac 24" with Bootcamp 1.2.
Background: My iMac is a 2.16 Dual Core with 1GB memory, 128MB of video memory, and bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It has the latest and greatest version of OS X and Bootcamp 1.2.
Experience: I installed bootcamp with no problems. I followed the setup wizard, creating the windows drive cd, and partitioned my hardrive with ease. I placed the Windows Vista Ultimate dvd in the drive and restarted my Mac. To my suprise, Windows Vista setup loaded recognizing the bluetooth keyboard/mouse and proceeded to install. The installation took about 15 mins.
Conclusion: I was quite impressed with Vista's speed. When I double clicked the applications they bursted open. The new Aero interface was incredible. The colors were vibrant and bright. I was expecting Vista to run dog slow with the hardware configuration but it was quite the opposite. The configuration was no problem for Vista. I know Vista has the ability to use unused ram dynamically for video so maybe that was it.
I know some people will get mad but I found myself switching back and forth looking at OS X and Vista. Reason is the speed was noticeably quicker in Vista. I did discover that Vista uses a "prefetch" technology which stores files of the recently used applications. It allows them to load commonly used applications faster.
Anyway, I thought I would share my experience. Best part was Bootcamp 1.2 and Vista Ultimate (30 days) are free. Back to OS X.

Compare the price of vista ultimate to tiger, and you might notice something...
Okay, maybe that version might be beautiful (the graphic art) but all clean and clear, it is still running on a failing foundation, aka windows platform.
I suppose I would share your opinion on speed when seeing it, but I want to mention that, when I experienced Windows XP with a previous bootcamp version, I also noticed that windows was verrry speedy. A friend of mine installed the same cd of xp on his computer with exactly the same config-specs as mine, only difference was: it was a non-apple machine and mine is (ofcourse).
Guess what we both experienced, there was no way that the speed was the same, although they both had same configs (and then I mean not only for ram, but every aspect). Don't ask me how that is possible (maybe that, for recognizing mouses and stuff the so called plug and play system of microsoft gets overwritten by the driver from mac you need to install to run windows on mac?) but I know it is just true.
To me that proves once again that mac is just way better. (and for your information, I've been working with windows for 8 years, until last year July, so I'm not just a un-XP'd anti-microsoft apple fan) but that anti-microsoft might in fact become true.
And just a little Tiger tumb up;
Now ofcourse, can't blame you for that because on a desktop you won't see all of that, but have you seen what happens with your battery life of a macbook or macbook pro when running both xp or vista on it? **** man, I have 4 hours battery-life when running os X with "best performance" settings, airport and bluetooth out, mighty mouse with cord (ofcourse, the bluetooth is out), ethernet cable plugged-in, full brightness. When running XP, that changes to 2h 26min, same config. Now, there vista is heavier in a graphical way, you see the battery life under vista shrinking to 2h 01min...
