Vista - Programs try to delete themselves when clicked on

At first there was a continuous type in every search panel (Windows Vista) with loads of +++++++++++++++++++ and it wouldn't stop.
I suspected a virus but my up to date Norton found nothing. I have since tried several other virus scanning products including the latest malicious software removal tool (full scan) from Microsoft and still nothing.
I looked at the possibility of a stuck key but this didn't seem to be the problem either.
I have since run the restore disk and now the problem has changed.
Now, everytime I click on a program from the All programs list I get a message asking if I'm sure I want to delete it!
It certainly seems viral but after four complete reformats/reinstalls I wonder if it's something else.
Any ideas?

Usually the notebook should run properly after complete reinstallation of Windows OS.
If its not the case a hardware issue might be possible
In your case I assume the keyboard could malfunctions. But this is only my personal suggestion and a notebook check would be necessary to ensure whats exactly wrong.
So maybe it's time to contact the ASP in your country

Automatically delete text when clicking (Acrobat Pro)

Hello,
I've been struggling with a problem for 3 hours now and I can't find any solution in this forum, youtube, google or where ever.
I'm busy making a fillable form in Adobe Pro X and I'm trying to add text in an object which disappears the moment you click/tab in it. Something like the "search bars" on most of the regular websites (see top right of Adobe page).
As a second demand, the prefilled text should be vissible but not be printed, as for the text which is typed by the customer (in the same field) should be vissible and be printed.
I don't have any knowledge about Javascript or HTML, so if it can only be done with one of these options, can someone please add the code aswell?
I hope i'm not asking to much of Acrobat.

There are several ways of doing it. Here's my favourite:
- Create a text field and set its default value to the text you want to display when no value is entered into it.
- Apply the following code as the field's On Focus script:
if (event.target.value==event.target.defaultValue) {
    event.target.value = "";
    event.target.display = display.visible;
- Apply the following code as the field's On Blur script:
if (event.target.value=="") {
    event.target.value = event.target.defaultValue;
    event.target.display = display.noPrint;
- That's it, pretty much. Reset the form and you should see it working.

Program windows will rearrange themselves when monitors are in sleep mode - how to stop windows switching screens

iv got 3 screens on one card via display port adapter and a 4th on a second card so as to have a 1 on top of three setup.
the computer itself does not sleep as I have servers running but I have the screens set to sleep after 10 mins.
for the longest time all screens would go to sleep and wake with no issues... in the last few months 2 issues arise.
1. after the monitors go to sleep and in no consistent time 1 monitor wakes enough to show the backlight but no display... wakes ok and sometimes screens dislocated.
and
2. when the monitors come out of power save / sleep mode some of the windows I had open will have been moved to different monitor like the monitors have been unplugged or "detected" numbers have changed and I have seen the number
change a few times as well but not always.
I say some because I have 4 windows open on my left most monitor and 2 of them end up on my right monitor after the glitch.
sometimes the stuff on my center bottom {main screen} will end up on the top single monitor.
no rhyme or reason... some days no issue at all wake up and all is where it should be and all screens slept all night
most often this issue happens at night or after a long sleep session short sleep sessions and it does not happen.
for all the tech info
ATI 5750 and 5770 running in xfire mode w/ 1displayport to DVI / 1 HDMI to DVI / 1 DVI.
and ATI 5450 for the top monitor
windows 7 x64 / 8 core AMD8320 / 16 gig mem.
latest video drivers...
any info?

kinda yes i added a second video card as a slave in a crossfire setup
iv had this same setup before and have switched a few times with minor issues that always got solved with driver reload
and for some reason in this final setup this is the only thing still messing with me.
some days wake up and all is correct on screens and all screens are asleep
next day #3 screen on far right will be awake and stuff from #2 middle bottom screen is up on top.
iv tried reloading drivers... iv tried older drivers and beta ...
have tried removing all info related to ati drivers and amd catylist and all that good stuff using their special removal tools...
the event viewer keeps giving this but i don't see a connection

Every time I try and delete an album from my ipod using itunes but doing so manually as was suggested, it is also deleted from the itunes library that i have set up. How do I just delete albums from my ipod and not loose them from my pc itunes library?

I have an extensive itunes library on my pc. I want to delete albums from my ipod but still keep them in my itunes library. Everytime I try to delete by right clicking on the album and choosing delete, I also loose the album from itunes. I have just gotten an old iphone and put just classical and jazz on the iphone and want to delete those albums from my ipod but alas I will be loosing them from the iphone as well as soon as I sync with itunes in the future. I put settings into manual manage music but still the albums go off itunes. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking you sync to your computer over Wi-Fi, if correct, switch to sync when connected to iTunes, turn off sync over Wi-Fi. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

Songs delete themselves

Hi, I've been set on a quest to figure out my nieces ipod nano (i have a regular 2nd gen ipod)- her ipod charges fine and i just set it to my mac with no problem but the issue that i'm trying to resolve is that her ipod will get songs on it for about a week, then when the battery dies the songs are all erased... I searched for as long as I had the patience to find something on this topic but I couldnt find anything... so to recap...
- battery is fine
- songs upload fine
- songs delete themselves when ipod battery dies (about a week into normal usage)
how do I get the songs to stay on after the ipod dies?? (I realize that keeping it charged would eliminate issues but she is 8 and that won't ever happen)

Is your iPod set to automatically update? If so, are all the songs still in your iTunes library? If not, this is probably the cause.
If it is, you may want to restore your iPod and then resync it with iTunes...

Also, make sure you never disconnect your iPod when it says not to.

If you tap and hold down the icon - and the X does not appear on the icon - you will not be able to delete it without totally downloading it. Finish the download and then delete it.

You may have to sync all your music off your phone (by unchecking Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing), then sync it back on to fix this.

If it's not MobileMe, use Safari to access the server directly and delet from there. If it is MobileMe, do the same thing but from your computer as the iPad Safari won't connect to MobileMe mail.

If the songs are downloaded into your iTunes library (i.e. they don't have the cloud icon against them) then you should be able to delete them by selecting them and pressing the delete button on your keyboard.
If they do have the cloud icon then they are in the cloud - you can turn off the showing of all icloud music via the 'Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences (command-comma), or you can hide individual tracks and/or albums so that they don't show in the cloud : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.

Generally when a file refuses to delete, it is some type of permissions issue, either that file or folder has the permission settings set to refuse editing of files, or
The file is being used in another program and is therefore locked to keep other apps from editing/deleting the file.
Right click on the file and choose to view in your OS's file browser and try to delete from there. It may give a better error message if something is wrong.

For several weeks, Thunderbird downloads the same emails more than once, back to back. Also when I try to delete messages, "Thunderbird does not respond."

The entire screen whites out when I try to delete or open another email. The margin above the File button shows that "Thunderbird is not responding." Finally, a new window appears in the middle of the screen asking me if I want to close Thunderbird. I am not sure if this problem started when I renewed my McAfee Total Protection program approx. 2 months ago. I also have over 1000 messages saved in both received emails and sent emails.
