Vista re-install, now Dreamweaver will not launch

I am a dummy so please do not give me solutions that are too complicated or at least use terminology that is for dummies.
Purchased CS3. Did not install it on any computer.
Bought new computer.
Installed CS3.
Think I registered, can't remember 'cause I am a dummy.
Two months later stupid Vista needed to be completely re-installed.
Installed CS3 (because my hard drive was wiped clean and Vista was re-installed).
Registered because it asks me to when I first opened it.
Dreamweaver will not open. (photoshop etc. does)
What do I need to do (besides getting a new brain)?

I have to say I am impressed.
A call this morning had me speaking to someone who was friendly without being condescending as some men (in my experience, I can't speak for anyone else) are when talking tech to women.
Unfortunately he could not solve the problem and asked if I could call back while he looked up the solution. I called back and again I was speaking with someone repsectful and friendly. Again the problem could not be solved, but he forwarded my call to a "Dreamweaver specialist."
This person, also friendly, helped me with an Acer patch and now the program opens. How thankful am I? Very. I was panicking inside at the thought of having to go back, even temporarily, to hand-coding html and css. Phew.
Patch is here: http://www.egistec.com/oem-acer001/program-update.html.
Thanks again Adobe.
PS I am not actually a dummy.

Try deleting all your music by going into settings>general>usage>music. Then re-download them from iTunes by going in to iTunes on your iPhone>more>purchased>music.

  • Just upgraded Photoshop and now it will not launch

Just upgraded Photoshop and now it will not launch.

The rule of thumb I follow says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open.  I have seen the scratch file exceed 300 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS.  I also have 16 GB of RAM installed.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch.
The scratch often exceeds 300 GB when working with very large pano shot, for instance; and in one extreme case I've seen it grow to over 800 GB.

  • I was in Lightroom and had a power surge and now Lightroom will not launch....what can I do to fix it?

I was in Lightroom and had a power surge and now Lightroom will not launch. It encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Lightroom will attempt to fix the next time it launches. I have shut my system down and Lightroom still will not launch. Does anyone have any suggestions?

delete your preview cache (.lrdata folder).
    Here has location:

If not enough info, search this forum for "delete preview cache".

  • SW upgrade wiped out my iTunes library and also now iTunes will not launch

I just completed the recommended Sw upgrade for iTunes and now iTunes will not launch and my iTunes library is TOTALLY EMPTY.
Clearly, I am NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. I have lost a substantial investment of $$ and time in losing my iTunes library - so Apple should be paying me for my loss.
I need help, can you, will you help me?  I want my iTunes library back and I'd like to reinstall the previous version of iTunes, because it worked fine.

You don't say which versions so we don't know to which version you wish to revert.  Reverting won't get back your library anyway, if it is truly gone.
Have you checked if your library is truly gone?  Have you looked in the iTunes folder and the media folder inside of it?  The library has two main components, all the media files for the individual tracks and the iTunes Library.itl file which give them the structure you see in iTunes.  Sometimes iTunes just loses track of the library file which can be re-linked, and what's really important anyway are the media files.
If the library is truly gone you can restore it from the backups you make of your computer.  Backups are a responsibility of any computer owner ever since computers were invented.  If you don't have backups then it may be possible to redownload items purchased from the iTunes Store.
I know I have glossed over some of this but it's not worth going into details on how to do all the different things until we know precisely what it is that needs doing.

  • Error message after install-now iPhoto will not open

After installing iPhoto, a message asks to upgrade the library. Soon, a message says
There is a problem in your iPhoto library folder. In the finder, select the iPhoto Library Folder. Then choose file > Get Info. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions for the folder and then apply this setting to all the enclosed items.
All you can do is quit after this message
Easy prompts, that I have followed, and now I do have read and write permissions selected, without any change. Iphoto sill will not open.

    Metal Ox
Whats most likely happened is that permissions on one or more of the pics have become screwed up. Try the following:
    Download BatchMod from
    http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/
and copy the settings shown here:

  • Aperture 3 installed, now MBP will not boot

I installed Apeture 3 and attempted to update the photo library. The computer locked up and after a hard reboot the computer will not start in normal or safe mode.

    Hi fogtownjohn,
Try to do a PRAM reset.
Also did you try to calibrate the battery?
When plugged in without battery try to boot in safe-mode by holding down the Shift key after you hear the startup sound. While is safe-mode, repair permissions on disk utility.
After, Shut down the computer, insert the battery and try to boot.
If non of this works , then you have a faulty battery.
Call Apple and set up an appointmeny with a Genius.
    Did your computer pass Warrenty?

  • Updated Acrobat Pro to 8.2.4 Now it will not launch.

I just updated my Acrobat 8 Pro to 8.2.4 and I get an error message that says
"Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component . . . "
I am on a Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon running OS 10.6.4.  I use Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, which is activated for the computer I use.
I have never had this problem when updating Acrobat before. What does it mean by "you must launch at least one other suite component  . . ."? I opened Photoshop CS3 but that did not solve this.
What is the solution? How can I get Acrobat Pro to work?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
Add me to the list of users plagued with Adobeitis.
Like Bryan Rodgers I used TM to recover 8.2.3. Assuming this is still functioning Bryan perhaps you will be kind enough to tell us of any tweaks you had yo make, like trashing ‘plist’ etc.
The first launch of 8.2.3 went the same way as 8.2.4, then all was well. For a little while.
Then it was back to square one, even launching from within Bridge, i.e. clicking on a PDF, only resulted on a very brief appearance of Acrobat and then reappearance of the warning message.
    UPDATE:
I seem to have resolved my TM Recovery problems by deleting the Folder in Applications/Adobe CS3 Master Collection/Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
Placing the recovered Folder in it’s place and having previously dragged the various ‘com.adobe.Acrobat.???.plist files to the Desktop.
Several files have been loaded and Acrobat quitted and restarted several time and all is still OK.
Hopefully the ‘solution’ will materialise soon.
