Vista & SB Xi-Fi Fatal

Ok so I've got Windows Vista and the Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatality Gamer sound card. I had to install a dual boot with Windows MCE and Vista simply because Creative were taking their sweet time in releasing the Vista drivers. All I want to do is run my optical sound from my 360/PS3 to the SB Xi-Fi so I can play the sound on my Creative 7. Inspire speakers. I use vista as my main OS so rarely do I load up MCE just for the sound it doesnt make much sense to do so.
Please could you let us know when you are releasing the drivers, I had called your support centre and they assured me its a month or so. This was in February, why has it taken so long? Why was I given incorrect information from a tech support agent, it'stook me at least 0 minutes for him to understand my problem!I?starting to regret buying this card as I cant make the most of it. Honestly Creative have to fix up!

Fresh Install Vista 64bit X-fi Fatality no sound

Hey everyone I'm needing help in getting sound to work with my card. I have just rebuilt my entire computer setup and am having issues getting any sound with my card. I've downloaded the driver? 6.0..368 and have rebooted but no sound is coming out still. I'm at a loss here, have searched the forum for other issues and haven't found an answer that works. If anyone has some answers, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I can't get my mic to work at all in Vista 64. I also have 4 gigabyte's of ram. I have the latest drivers installed.
It constantly reads as unavailable in the Control Panel / Sound / Recording.
I can turn on my MB soundcard and plug it into that and get it to register with Vista, but it still doesn't work, it just screeches.
I'm not sure what to do, my mic was very important when I played WoW and I feel as though I might not be able to fix this problem anytime soon. I could try reinstalling the creative drivers to see if anything changes...
Oh, and I have the X-Fi Gamer card.
***FIXED IT***
I found a fix for my problem. I downloaded Smart Recorder for Vista 64 on Creative's website, and messed around with it. I was able to actually hear myself through my mic and was able to get rid of the hiss with the option. Than magically after playing with it, my Mic showed up in the control panel / sound / recorder. Is Vista XFi Install disk need

Hey all,
After 6 months, I've finally finished my new(?) build, which includes vista ultimate & an XFi fatality. The SC was my first purchase 6 months ago & didn't include a vista install disk, however do I need one? Can I just install the latest downloaded drivers & alchemy & start playing? TIA.

I hope you are running on less than 4GB of RAM. Otherwise, you are probably going to have issues. There's plenty of threads on that, so I'll skip it unless you ask about it.
Yes, you can install the latest drivers that you downloaded from Creative. The install disk has other software programs on it, such as THX console. If you need any of the other programs, search for "YouP-PAX."

I want win 7 drivers too!

? Every time MS releases a new OS I build a new PC. From Win98 up to Vista. Every time I bought a soundblaster card for them. Every time I had to wait for drivers to be released. For Vista I bought a Fatality card, had to wait for drivers which I had to pay them for because that was the only way to get them at first, on a cd. Vista was so awfull this time I'm going to win 7 and reformating my vista pc. So what does creative do? They only release drivers for their titaniam cards. I spent $200 for this card just 2 years ago and I'm not going to spend another $200 for a card that I don't think is going to fit anyway because my video cards take up too much room and I can't put any more pci express cards in. In this time of financial crisis around the world I would think a company would do anything to keep their customers happy. Thank you Daniel_K. Quick time will not install/unistall windows vista fatal error

I am unable to install, unistall, or repair quicktime on my computer with vista.
Before fatal error I see install has insufficient privileges to modify this file:
C:\Program Files\Quick Time\Quick Time Read Me.htm
Any suggestions for removing this software to get a clean install would be helpful?

It will not let me uninstall older versons or install new versions.
Do you get error messages? If so what do they say? (Precise text, please.)

Fatal Internal Error : "objheap.cpp", line 579 - Labview 7.1 running on vista

Hello,
I was developing a project in Labview 7.1 and had saved it on vista when the vista OS decided to enter suspend, Labview 7.1 stopped responding as a result and I had to reboot. I will never trust vista again but when I try to open the VI I get the following error:
Fatal Internal Error : “objheap.cpp”, line 579.
And the following text file report is created. What I am wondering is there any way to restoring or uncorrupting this VI which is attached. Sub VI’s are not included but if you can get the VI to open even without them then the problem is sorted.

I have been looking into your error code as well as the attached files of your VI and LLB. Pasting in your error code is proving very helpful in trying to help you. I initially tried to open your files in my system, where I would possibly be able to resave them for you, however it looks like I will have to try a different approach.
As I understand it, you have been using LabVIEW 7.1 Full Development System with Windows Vista. LabVIEW 7.1 was released during the years when only Windows 2000 and XP were available. With the release of Windows Vista in later years, National Instruments produced LabVIEW 8.2.1 with support for Windows Vista Business or greater.
Please reply with the following information:
Are you using Vista 32-bit or 64-bit?
Are you still able to open the LabVIEW Development Environment to produce new VIs?
Have you tried to open other VIs (after backing them up) with LabVIEW 7.1?

I have Fatality FPS edition, and I find that the volume keeps fluxuating in media player?during playback of music?with vista. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Current Computer specs:
Vista Ultimate x64 Retail
Core 2 Quad Q6600
GeForce 8800GTX
6GB RAM
X-Fi Fatality Champion (basically a platinum with Xram)
Gigaworks S750 7. speakers.
I have the above computer, with the latest (Oct st 07) X-Fi drivers.
I cannot set the card to 7. output mode. The option doesn't appear in the windows sound config, and if set in the Creative Audio Console it just switches itself down to 5. instantly.
Any known solution?

Step : Power down computer.
Step 2: Remove Creative card.
Step 3: Install competitor's sound card.
Creative's drivers are known to have issues in systems with 4GB or more of RAM. The Oct st drivers are probably the worst choice, so far. You could try the Auzentech drivers, but there is no guarantee it will fix your issue.

You will probably need THX console from your installation CD to remap your speakers.

No 5.1 sound from my X-Fi Fatality in Vista

hi everyone I`m a x-fi fatality user with Logitech Z-5400 and windows vista ultimate SP my problem is when i set up the sound from control panel to 5. I cant get sound from all my speaker just from the front LEFT-RIGHT speaker.Recently find out that when I set up 5. in control panel automatically the AUDIO CONTROL PANEL of creative changed to 5. the reason why i cant get surround sound is that when both control panels are set to 5..But on the other hand when I change creative setup to 2. and leave windows set up to 5. all my speakers worked at the test.Do you know what can cause that i have the latest driver please help ? X-Fi Xtreme Fatality Platinum & Vista 5.1 not work

Here I am again hoping that in the many months I've had this sound card that a solution will drop in my lap and I still wait. I'm going to take another shot at this and hopefully someone who knows what the problem is can fix it.

Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5. Surround Sound Speakers
I run a speaker setup using Stereo settings and the Left and center channels act as my Left and Right.
I run a Quadraphonic settings and the sound comes from the center channel.
I run a 5. Surround sound setup and the sounds come from only the center channel and subwoofer.
I've checked my hook up and speakers have never been touched since I've made the switch from XP/Audigy to Vista64/XFi.
Someone please tell me what is going on here and why my channels are way off then they should be I've downloaded and installed the latest driver from Creative Labs and used Daniel K's custom made drivers and nothing seems to fix it. I've had this sound card for 6/8/2008 and we're in 9/0/2008. That's 3 months of no sound on my brand new computer and my online gaming experience is really bad especially testing games like WoTLK and Warhammer and not enjoying the quality sound those games have. Please, I'm at a loss here and I can't find a problem. I refuse to purchase another sound card because I felt I've waisted a lot of money on this sound card and for the price I paid it should work.

It's funny how some people say you can enable 5. with vista 64 using alchemy but for 10 days now I have yet to get a response.

Try the following test:
- Go to Vista Sound Control Panel to view the S/PDIF out properties.
- Click on the Supported Format tab page, select Dolby Digital and click Test.
Is the test OK?

Vista crashes to blue screen/ X-fi Fatal

Any one have this problem and have the X-fi fatality. And I know it's the Fatality because I get this pop up and it says here is the problem and that comes from Vista. It says install the drivers but I have done that three times and still the same thing. Any clue what could wrong here except these drivers must be bad.

Yes, you are not alone. I have been fighting BSOD's a few times a day.My Rig,Vista Ultimate, Asus Commando, QX6700, KW PSU, BFG 8800GTX OC, 2 Gb PC28500 Etc and an X-Fi Fatlity . I had tried everything including every driver NVIDIA has as well as a new 8800GTX. No joy, finally I removed the X-Fi and the Creative drivers and went to on board sound and Voila!!! No more BSOD'sI have to build some more of these high end rigs for clients and they will not be able to utilize X-Fi's as slightly less sound quality is far more preferable to BSOD's

X-fi Fatality Titanium "What u hear" Vista Problem

Now let me begin.
I Recently bought a Creative Fatality Pro, and i was recieving constant Blue Screen of Deaths, and i figured it was a faulty card, and my warranty expired.
I do ALOT of audio editing for church, work and a forum where i am the admin of. My most used feature is the "What u Hear" feature, which is excellent. I've always used it since i was young. However... this week i paid $400+ for the Creative Fatality titanium professional champion, the big mamma, and from what i've been told here and there, Titanium does NOT support this feature on Vista...
Why the hell not? I mean.. i paid big money and i get less features than the OLDER cards?
. Is there a legit Reason why there is no "What u hear" in Vista? (i have checked recording and selected show hidden and unused devices)
2. Is there a work around to fix this? (Installing XP drivers over the Vista ones)
3. Will this be fixed in the future?
Im fuming at Customer Service for basically not knowing the card existed... And then having no idea what to do.
Can someone PLEASE help me with this? I've been browsing all day to no avail... Cheers.

The Titanium does not have "What u hear". I think it's because of DRM in Vista.

SoundBlaster X-FI XtremeGamer Fatality Pro & Windows Vista 64 Drive

Just wondering what the current driver is for my video card ( SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatality Pro). I downloaded the following driver (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0078) and I'm not sure it is the correct driver. I've searched the forums and see that everyone is talking about the recently pulled driver (SBXF_PCDVT_LB_2_5_0003.exe). Would this be the driver I should be using for my sound card If not, what is the correct driver I should be using for my sound card Is there a current driver for my sound card I noticed that this driver is available as well (Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, Platinum, Fatalty and Elite Pro with Open AL support 2.09.0007). Just trying to clear up some confusion and not mess up my recently formatted computer with the newly installed Windows Vista 64. I'm hoping someone can help clear things up for me. I'm not sure what all is included in the Audio Pack but the 2.5.0002 or .0003 drivers are technically the correct ones. (You may only be able to get .0002 since the other one was pulled). However, you'll find that a majority of users are completely unable to run Vista with an X-Fi card at all.
The easiest way to get the latest driver/software is to go here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ and select the card you own.
