  • BB Desktop Software causes Blue Screen at Windows XP

    Hi,
I'm using BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.35 at Windows XP over Lenovo X201 laptop. When I try to sync the adressbook or calendar between my BB(Storm II 9520) and my laptop, it often causes blue screen at my laptop.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the desktop software but the blue screen occures again. But, the same version of Desktop Software at Windows VISTA over HP pavillion Desktop doesn't cause similar problem.
Please kindly let me know how can I fix it or please check if there are any defects at your Desktop Software.
If you need, I can send the screenshot to you via email.
    Best Regards,

Just unisntall this version and install the desktop version 5.1. That will not give you blue screen infact it is fully compatible with xp

  • Skype video crashes my GPU driver and causes blue screen.

    Hello,
Installed a new copy of windows and got the latest version of skype for my PC (on wich skype worked just fine, video calls, voice calls, but it was an older version. No hardware changes)
With the new skype, I , for the least, get driver crashes, and for the most, a blue screen, when I just go to options to set up my webcam. As soon as I see the square "loading" my webcam in the options, everything freezes and I get a driver crash or a blue screen.
    Current specs:
    i5 4440, stock clocks
    2x8gb 1333 ddr3 1.5v ram, stock
    R7 260x, stock
500w PSU, not the best quality, But I also tried a 1000w platinum PSU, and same resaults.
last error code I remeber from the blue screen was: 0x00000116
I know it is related to the GPU, but it doesn't have power deficiency, since I manage to run heavy games just fine.By the way, my webcam works just fine on different web sites, so it's not the webcam.
    What I tried:
-Degrading to the oldest supported version by skype
    -Degrading video drivers
    -Using different webcams
-Installed all windows 7 64 bit updates
    edit:
skype 6.14 works, but newer versions crash my GPU drivers and cause blue screen

I would suggest uninstalling Droidcam as it could be the source of some delays assisting in causing the problem.  TDR problems occur when your videocard is unable to respond in 2 seconds for a variety of reasons (heat, tweaks), forcefully resetting the card.  Some people increase this delay in their registry from 2 to up to 10 seconds to give the card time to catch up so that a reset doesn't occur.  You can try this MS fix it which increases this delay. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946

  • Schannel errors - appears to be causing blue screens

    Hi guys
Every once in a while (a few times a month) our RDS server (server 200r82 hyper-v VM) decides to blue screen and restart.
Each and every time it crashes, we notice hundreds and hundreds of schannel errors appearing just before the crash (event ID 36888)
Well, it did it again this afternoon, and over the last 12 hours we noticed 1008 instances of this error, with 60 odd messages appearing within 0.2 seconds of each other, and 2 minutes before the crash.
I also noticed that just before the crash, there were a handful of services which hung seconds before the logged unexpected shutdown event. These services are as follows.
    - UmRDPService
    - WPDBusEnum
    - UxSMS
    - Audio Endpoint Builder
After the crash, it doesnt log any Schannel errors. although, saying this now and just checking again, it looks like its logged 127 instances of the same schannel error, starting from after around 2 hours of bringing the server back online.
Do these Schannel errors cause blue screens/crashes? Or is it something else I should be looking at... I'm at a loss, as there's not a lot more in the way of logs that seem to be telling me what's going on..

    Hi EsDood,
Would you please let me know complete message of Event ID
36888? For Event ID 36888, it generally occur if a user tries to access a web site using HTTP but specifies an SSL port in the URL. Please check the Schannel tracing log if find relevant clues.

In addition, I noticed that a BSOD issue occurred on the Windows Server 2008 R2. Troubleshoot this kind of

  • Itunes 8 - Connecting Ipod cause Blue Screen on Vista

I just installed itunes 8 over my itunes 7 on Vista.
Now whenever I plug in my ipod nano, I get a blue screen death. 3 times so far. even if it is plugged in on boot, I get a blue screen.
Before itunes 8 I never seen a blue screen with vista since it came out.

I think it's safe to say then that either Apple's USB driver shipped with iTunes 8 is broken on Vista, or it's causing a problem with some other common Vista driver.
Are you guys both using the 64-bit edition of Windows Vista?
Also remember to check with your manufacturers to see if there are updated drivers for other devices on your computers. This may help rectify the problem. For Dell (since one of you has an XPS), go to http://support.dell.com and enter the service tag of your laptop and update any hardware driver that's available for you.

  • IPod Causing Blue Screen of Death on Windows Vista

I'm posting this in the correct forum now:
For some reason, all of a sudden, whenever I plug in or unplug my iPod to my computer, the computer crashes and quickly shows a blue screen of death before restarting. It has not done this before today. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with the iPod or the computer that would cause it to do this.
When iTunes opened, it said there was a Windows Update to fix a problem with iPods corrupting upon disconnecting from the PC, but when I tried to download the update, it said something about the update not being needed for this system. The iPod isn't corrupted, everything is still on it. I don't know what the deal is.
I tried system restore back to like a week ago, but this did nothing to help.

First, update the USB Root Driver on your computer: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136 Even if there are no new drivers for your computer, follow the last part of the article and let Windows update your USB driver.
Second, be sure you are using a rear port on your computer.
Third, with only the iPod, mouse and keyboard connected (no speakers, no mic, nothing else), reassign the drive letter on your iPod. Try M or P or Z: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499

  • Apple TV Causes Blue Screen in Windows Vista when syncing purhcases

strange problem. I have a windows vista ultimate 32bit pc running iTunes 8.0.2 my library is about 240gb i have 54000 songs and about 200 videos/tv shows etc. I have an Apple TV and an iTouch remote.
Everything worked fine until i bought all 5 seasons of a show from Apple TV. ATV downloaded all of the shows then began the process of syncing them back to my PC. About 10 min into the Sync - my computer Blue Screens. I've turned off all firewalls (locally) and disabled or removed AV software temporarily.
HELP! this is driving me insane and about the only thing i've been able to do is isolate the problem to the ATV syncing.

Guys, I got the answer, and so that it's here for future reference:
It was not the Apple TV, though the Apple TV is what exposed the problem. The problem is with CA Internet Security 2010, which, for some reason, installs and creates corruptions in some network drivers. The solution can be found here:
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/blue-screen-random-shutdown-tcpip-sys-problem-hel p-t237853.html
As for drivers, again, all drivers were up to date, as was windows
Thank you all for the brainstorming, hope the next person is helped by this.

  • ITunes causing Blue Screen of Death

Okay, I am running Vista, as it was my only option at the computer store. At random times in iTunes it will freeze and cause the blue screen of death. This is a serious problem for me because I have poured a couple hundred dollars into iTunes and now I can't even consistently get the stuff I bought because it may cause my system to crash. I have tried the latest version of iTunes, and the 7.2 version, and they both cause the same problem.
    Thanks

I had the same problem last night. This started when I began downloading podcasts to my iPhone. Received the blue screen when iTunes began to sync with the iPhone. I'm going to try removing the podcast subscriptions and see if the blue screens stop. I have been running other basic Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and standard HP software with no problems until this occurred. I have not had any other blue screens since I bought the HP in June.
As a separate issues, I can not play any podcasts on iTunes for more than a couple a seconds. iTunes terminates prematurely. I'm using the latest iTunes software.

  • I tune causeing blue screen

Whenever I open Itunes it causes a blue screen with the error saying somthing about paged in a nonpaged area there is really nothing else to go on then that.

    hi Redlion!
just doublechecking. is that an "0x00000050: PAGEFAULT_IN_NONPAGEDAREA" that you're getting, or are you getting different numerical and/or text codes with your blue screen?
if you're not sure, rather than provoking another blue screen maybe this reference might help jog your memory:

  • QuickTime Causes Blue Screen

When I try to open QuickTime my computer (using XP Professional) crashes and goes to a Blue Screen. On that screen it says a file, dti3duag.dll, (I believe it is an ATI video driver of some sort) caused the crash. This only happens with QuickTime.
To try and remedy this problem I have unistalled QuickTime and reinstalled it. Still doesn't work.
I recently updated the video driver for this computer and the problem started around the same time.
Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks.
Gateway DS 450 X Notebook Windows XP Pro

Sure it's not ati3duag.dll? That's the normal name for an ATI driver. Not that I have a suggestion, I'm afraid, but it's important to get the file names correct so that others have accurate details.
And just a thought; have you tried rolling back that video driver?

  • Java causes BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

I am currently running the newest version of the JRE
    v. 1.4 update 5
Every time Java runs on my system Windows XP Professional crashes and I get the Blue Screen of Death. I attempted to uninstall Java but that would also crash my system. So I reformated my computer and reinstalled everything again. Still the same thing occurs. Java crashes my system. If I open a webpage with Java, the java plugin in the control pannel, or any app which is java based my system crashes.
I read elsewhere on the internet that setting Hardware acceleration to None will fix the problem. This works, but is not a viable soltution. I need my video hardware to run at full acceleration. What's the deal with JAVA?

All device and system drivers are the most up-to-date.

Maybe you should take some reading lessons. That was harsh.
    video cards are top-of-the-line
Nvidia 7800GTX KO PCIe. I have two of them in SLISorry I would be so harsh except I am jealous of your system. Maybe you could make another and give it to me.
mode. My Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering
    settings are as follows:
    AA: 8X
AF: 16XBut I already answered your question. I stated in reply 3 with "I bet you have Anti-aliasing and/or Anisoptric Filtering set to something other than application preference".
Would this really cause problems with the JRE? Again if you would read the links I provided. The first one: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;:YfiG?bug_id=6267861 will give you the answer. And it is really, really, really, really easy for you to test. Just set your Anti-aliasing and/or Anisoptric Filtering to application preference and see if it works.
The other options is to turn off direct3d by setting an enviromental variable. Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced->Environment Variables->New and then add the approperiate value
Would I enter those Java commands under the Java
Console in the Java Runtime Parameters Field? That might work for Applets and Java Web Start. Try it and see.
I reformated my computer twice.Sorry you had to do that.

  • Cisco VPN Client causes blue screen crash on WindowsXP Pro (Satellite M30)

    Hi there,
I've got a Satellite Pro M30 running Windows XP Professional.
After starting a vpn Tunnel via a Cisco VPN Client (Version 4.6 and 4.7) the system crashes with a blue screen.
I can see that the key exchange is successful, but immediatly after the vpn connection gets established Windows XP crashes with a blue screen.
Has anyone an idea, how to solve this problem?
Maybe by device driver update? And if so, which driver should be updated?
    Kind regards,
    Thorsten

    Hi R2D2 (and anyone else)!
1st of all (concerning your link) - I'm not using the wireless adapter.
I am connectet via 100Mbit via network-cable to my hub (all RJ45 TP Cat.5)
I found several other Notebook users by google'ing who have the same problem different vpn-clients but most of them with a centrino processor inside the notebook.
Almost all of them solved the problem by installing new drivers. But I can't use driver-patches from other Notebook to fix my Toshiba Drivers.
What could help is information about which driver is responsible for the crash by vpn clients on centrino notebooks. Maybe there is an Intel driver for it, but when I do not know which one causes the problem it's like seeking a needle in a haystack... :(
Disabling ALL other network devices (wireless, 1394-network adapter, modem, etc.) did not solve the problem.
I used the Cisco VPN clients several times on my old Compaq Notebook without any problems, but here it just doesn't work.
An idea which driver should be updated is kindly welcome!
    Thank you, Thorsten

  • Firefox Causes "BLUE SCREEN CRASH"

    Hello There.
To my utter dismay I am forced to use Chrome to access this forum. The reason is the moment I use Firefox (3) my computer crashes and I get the dreaded windows blue screen. I have been using ff for a long time now without problems. Yesterday I updated adobe flash player, but have now uninstalled flash player in the hope that the problem is resolved. No luck. I can use my computer in normal manner without problems, but the moment I use ff it crashes

I have this problem too, just installed Windows 7 Home Premium x64 two days ago. Yesterday I did a massive windows update and I believe the BSODs started after that. I've isolated it down to Firefox, partly because I had a similar problem with Vista x64 prior to the Win 7 upgrade and had removed Firefox from the machine completely w/o giving it too much thought.
Last night I found a way that 100% crashes windows within 5 mins, 5 times in a row, open firefox, open certain tabs and just wait. BSOD.
Note I also use Thunderbird but that doesn't seam to crash windows.
I found two separate threads on other forums suggesting this might have something to do with fonts. Not sure why Firefox is the only application suffering from it though. So from another thread following steps were suggested that are shown below, I haven't tried these. Another user on a different forum suggested running windows repair and through that somehow fixing the fonts. I'll report later if this issue helps solve the problem.
    1. this may seem random, but might be worth a shot... i think this problem
often occurs because of registry errors with the fonts... this solution fixes
that. if you browse to windows/fonts and immediately get a blue screen, then
    the fonts are your problem
    2. first try going to control panel > fonts >font settings (on left) > restore
    default fonts
    3. if you can't access fonts in the control panel then try this... in explorer go
here: \\%COMPUTERNAME%\C$\Windows\Fonts (replacing %computername% with your computername).
    4. then hit ctrl+a to select all the fonts.
    5. once they're all selected right click and select "install".
    6. when the dialogue box pops up saying that "[such and such] font is
already installed, would you like to reinstall it?" click the box for "do this for
all current items", and hit "yes"
    7. reboot (just for grins), and you should be good to go
