Vista SP1 - Old Conexant HD Audio drivers

Windows Update didn't offer me the option of installing Vista SP1 on my Lenovo 3000 v200 (0764-33G) whereas it appeared on other machines. I checked all the driver versions as per the following page:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948343#method5
It seems that the only old driver out of those listed on the page and installed on this machine is the following:
Conexant HD Audio version 4.19.1.0
I have checked for a newer driver on both Lenovo's support page and through Lenovo System Update but haven't found any. Does anyone know if there's an updated version of this driver anywhere, and if not, when is a newer version expected to be released through Lenovo System Update?
Thank you.

I have the same problem with drivers for Authentec fingerprint reader on my N200 0769-BRG. Are there any updates planned to support Vista SP1 ?

  • Problems with the latest Windows 7 Conexant HD Audio Drivers For WIndows 7

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P305-S8997E with the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 211 speakers. I have recently upgraded with the Windows 7 32/64-bit audio drivers posted within the last week in the Drivers section, and have had a few problems with them. Namely that whenever I listen to music (and etc), the volume is fairly low, and even when the speaker AND media player (Foobar, FYI) volumes are cranked, they flucuate, and eventually end up being much lower than they should. Is there any fix to this? I recently downgraded to the last Vista 64-bit drivers for them and that has ended the volume problem, but it doesn't sound as good as it should to my ears. Any help is appreciated.
Also, this computer is only about two months old, and this problem hasn't surfaced until very lately, so I doubt it's something like the speakers going out or anything.

Windows 7 is still a PRE-RELEASE OS until the OFFICIAL release date of October 22nd.  Toshiba and other manufacturers are still working on their drivers and may not have fully functioning drivers until then.  My advice is be patient and wait for them to get all of the bugs out.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Problem With Conexant HDAudio After Installing x86 Vista SP1

I didn't want to start a new thread, but it seems my problem is very unique.
When first installing Vista x86 my Speakers/Headphones worked great. After Vista SP1 installed, my Speakers/Headphones went silent yet the driver was still there and functioning properly. I uninstalled the driver, and let Windows auto-install another driver. (No Rollback was available) I was able to get sound from my Speakers. Speakers are the only thing that work whether I plug into the headphone jack or not.
While plugged to the headphone jack I test the Headphone device in Playback Devices and get nothing through the headphones.
HP support's drivers only mute my speakers while making my headphone device in playback disappear. Same with updating the driver.
I like to use this as a TV computer and would like sound from the TV via the headphone jack.
I have searched EVERYWHERE on the internet and found no resolution. Any help would be appreciated.

    Glad to here it working
Not sure on your model but on dv2000 models I worked on I was able to replace the headset jack board by removing all screws from lower casing, removing rear button panel then just lift front palm rest & have easy'ish access to jack board 2 screws & ribbon connector.
Hope your jack board lasts a while ...

  • Qosmio G30: Conflict between Sigmatel audio driver and Vista SP1

    Hello,
I have a Qosmio G30 PQG32E notebook and can't upgrade to Vista SP1 because the Sigmatel driver (6.10.5462.0) is conflicting with the service pack.
As some of you might know, Sigmatel no longer exists and IDT who bought them is as good as non-existent, saying to contact the OEM directly for updated drivers.
Is there any plan to upgrade the audio driver ?
There are huge memory leaks in my case from the audio driver.
When using Photoshop or Premiere Pro, the audiodg.exe proccess consumes 800MB and more after one hour of continuous work.
I am hoping for an updated more stable driver, and more stability from SP1.
    Am I a dreamer?

Have your problems started after SP1 installation? Just for info: at the moment Toshiba does not support SP1. I really believe that you have some troubles and because of that I still wait with SP1 installation.
You are right about Qosmio. It costs a lot of money but using delivered recovery image installation you will not have any problem. About memory and how much resources Vista needs you can read everywhere. Even if you close some application RAM will still be occupied with different information. If you start the same application again you will see that application starts second time much faster.
    It is Vista!!!
You have really nice notebook and you should upgrade RAM to maximum level. I am pretty the notebook will runs much better and of course faster. For such notebook 2 GB for Vista is really the minimum.

  • I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit)...my headphones are not working. I can't find the 3.5mm jack that apple suggests using. I have tried installing/unistalling several different audio drivers. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit). My headphones are not working on it. I could not find the "3.5mm jack" that apple suggests to "solve" this issue. And I have tried installing/uninstalling audio drivers. Can anyone help?

you don't need several drivers, you just need the audio driver for your Mac, which you didn't list, but would be Cirrus or RealTek.
Along with uninstalling programs, go to Dev Manager and uninstall driver, or even rollback driver.
some people have trouble installing or finding driver that will install.

  • Vista SP1: not showing up due to incompatability w/ drivers on 3000 N100

According to Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948343, Cause 5), Vista SP1 has "known problems" with certain devices & drivers, among them:
    Biometric (Fingerprint) Sensors
    • AuthenTec Fingerprint Sensor with the Atswpdrv.sys driver file – version 7.7.1.7 or earlier
Latest driver from Lenovo: 7.7.0.19 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67300)
This, of course, is preventing Vista SP1 from being deployed to my laptop. I use the fingerprint reader frequently, and do not want to lose functionality of it, though it is somewhat problematic. Is Lenovo aware of this, and is an updated driver forthcoming, or....?
edit: I forgot to mention, I have downloaded a "newer" driver from HP; their Atswpdrv.sys driver file is 7.9.0.4, which is newer. I may be able to replace the file in question, thereby updating the driver file.  I don't see a way to attachthe file here, but AFAIK, simply updating the sys driver file shouldn't affect anything, but should allow SP1 to work, right?  I've just done this, will reboot and let everyone know....
edit #2: GOOD NEWS! Replacing just the sys file didn't work; using the "update driver", and allowing it to use the .inf from HP to install the driver, updated it to 7.9.0.4, and SP1 now shows up under Updates.
Now, when will LENOVO catch up so no one has to do this work-around?  BTW, if anyone else needs this, simply reply to this post and I'll upload the files somewhere.

    Instructions:
Download the HP file from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-56164-1&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en...
You'll need to extract the files using WinRAR (WinZip will not work); you'll need to download and install WinRar (www.rarlabs.com), then right-mouse on the file you downloaded in step 1, select "extract to" and choose a destination.
Go to Device Manager, select the Authentec AES2501A, choose "update driver", and browse to the location you extracted the files to in step 2.
Voila! Do not run the install file, as it's designed for HP/Compaq computers, of course, so I don't know what it would do.  However, I now have Vista SP1 installed and all apears to be running normally.

  • HP Pavilion a1210n with Windows Vista 32bit. looking for audio drivers. Can you point me to a link?

    Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion a1210n running Windows Vista 32bit. I'm missing the audio drivers and can't seem to find them. Can you point me to a link for these drivers?
    Thanks, It's much appricieated!

I found this link but it doesn't talk about audio drivers in the multimedia package. Am I missing something? Does Vista need to have all OS updates installed for this to work?
    Thanks again!

  • X200 Vista 64Bit Audio Drivers

I let System Update attempt to update the Connexant audio drivers and it failed because the update that was available was not signed.  64Bit requires all signed drivers.  Now I can't even get back to how the machine originally shipped as the driver available for download appears to have the same issue.
Pointers to where I can find the right driver?

This isn't an issue with UAC.  This isn't an issue with an ActiveX control and the authenticode prompt.
This is an issue with 64Bit Windows only loading signed drivers.  Hvae you ever run a 64Bit OS?
EXCUSE ME?how do you expect to get an answer without reading your "COMPLETE" post? try following this method and the next time mind your language if you can!
    go to cmd
    2. Right-click on the shortcut and select Run as administrator
    3. When the command window opens, type or paste the following and press ENTER:
    Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
    4. Reboot and then try installing the driver.

  • Dv2000 Vista sp1 external sound

Recently upgraded Vista to SP1 and since then the external headphone/speaker jacks do not operate properly. I can hear Test sounds through Headphones but the Internal speakers do not cut out when external devices plugged in. If playing dvd via Quickplay there is no sound from the external jacks at all.
Sound Driver for Conexant HD2 updated to 4.36.7.61
    dv2000, T2130, Vista SP1 32-bit, 1MB, 120GB

Tis very sad and poor situation then.. I hadn't bothered checking how well my onboard mobo sound was like(I mean it works fine in XP, but I obviously I used the X-Fi as the default sound device... Right now I've gone back and set the XP install as default partition to boot, can't be doing with so many of Fista's poor issues ontop of creatives sound drivers ..
but onboard is nForce Audio.. anyone know if onboard audio with nvidia's drivers work better
and what new soundcard does creative have out that does suppose Vista 00% effienciently, better than the x-fi cards .. just noticed MS is further changing(plucking up) the audio stack with extra useless stuff.. And with creatives current track record it would be absolutly stupid to buy any audio hardware from them seeing MS couldn't get get Win7 kicked out the door soon enough to replace Fista.
    http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/Charl...-capabilities/
just how well would any of creatives current new sound cards qualify for Win7 after listening to that.. just can't believe Audiodg.exe takes up so much cpu% and now they are trying to add more useless noob features...
I don't want to complelty blame creative on this because quite frankly I wouldn't put it past MS to make stupid changes and expect every hardware maker to follow suit...its what they do and they really don't get enough flak for it tbh.

  • Conexant smart audio 221, not recognized most of the time

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv2810us Entertainment Notebook
It all started when I changed my OS from vista to windows 7.  Ever since I have been having the "no audio output device installed" problem most of the time.  When I go to device manager there is no hint of a sound device, it is as if the laptop can’t recognize/access my sound device.
Sometimes though, when I turn my laptop on, the sound is working perfectly and my device manager shows Conexant smart audio 221 installed.  When the laptop has sound working and it goes to sleep, sometimes when it awakes it changes to no audio output device installed.  When I try to install the audio driver it says it can’t find the media device. Today I did a OS generalizing procedure to return to default drivers supposedly but it didn’t help.  Any comments, clues, suggestions will be VERY MUCH appreciated.  I really wanna know why in the world isnt my sound device recognized... :[

I have the same problem, sometimes get audio drivers perfectly and sometimes the device manager just does not show it. I tried the SP39679.exe, run as an administrator, and got the message "unable to locate the device"!
I also tried SP40270.exe, successful installation and seems to work fine, but when I restart the computer, sometimes the audio device just disappear again. I tried to install manually, but the problem persists!

  • MacBook Pro sleep problems with Vista SP1

Has anyone faced sleep problems on a MacBook Pro after installing Vista SP1?
I run Boot Camp 2.0 with the latest update from Apple.
IDT finally issued a compatible Vista driver for my Sigmatel audio.
I was very happy for the first time running Vista on my Apple when I had the stupid idea to upgrade to SP1.
After days of troubleshooting with Windows support it is obvious that SP1 and my MacBook Pro are incompatible for some obscure reasons. The latest time I tried SP1 was through Windows Update, which means that Windows detected no compatibility issues, such as drivers.
I suspect Apple-in-sight driver without any evidence, just a hint.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Hibernation seems iffy. Have you tried disabling hibernation? and when you say sleep, what happens? won't wake or what?
Normally I don't recommend resetting NVRAM or SMU but for sleep you might want to.
And yes, trying to rule out why can be difficult. But I would not blame SP1. Maybe BC 2.1.
Do you have a book dealing with Vista? or looked for articles or forums that deal with Vista? There is one for Vista64 - assume you have 32-bit though. Google is often best way to find things in Apple discussions or knowledge base, too.

  • No Volume in system tray, master volume disabled, no audio drivers - Dv6500 model

    Hi,
OS- win xp sp2(downgrade from vista to xp )
    Model: dv 6500
I need serious help with my audio drivers. To start off there is no volume icon in my system tray, so I tried to enable it  through control panel but before I try to enable it, the master volume is already greyed out so there is no way i can  enable it or get it on system tray nor can i change the volume, mixer setting  or just any setting in sound volume and devices dialog box.
Initially in teh properties tab of sound and devices the message was all drivers are working fine however still I could not listen any voice from any application. I tried to reintall the old audio driver(sp34200) and new one's like sp33310 still there is no audio..
tried to start audio application in services but still no result, did a virus check  but it shown no virus attack. I have given up , plz help me out . I am exhausted i guess I ahve tried each and everything available on net.  plz plz help someone.

I can't help, other than to say this happened to me today with the same hardware, only with GarageBand.
I recorded bass tracks this morning -- no problem. This afternoon, though, every time I plugged in the Tascam GarageBand went silent, even though the system input shows sound coming in.

  • Vista SP1 and the Sigma Tel driver issue

I've done a fair bit of reading about why Vista SP1 does not show up for some people in Windows Update and for me its almost certainly down to the Sigma Tel audio drivers on my MacBook Pro (Feb 2006).
N.B. I have installed the latest BootCamp 2.1 32bit update and this did not change anything. Also I should mention this is a clean Vista install and I have not used a pre release version of SP1 either.
Apparently Sigma Tel sold off their audio division and is therefore no longer updating the software drivers. Microsoft have said they plan to address this driver incompatibility with their own update at some point. This was the response another user received from MS tech support:
"Kindly wait for further updates from microsoft which addresses the sigma audio driver compatibilty issues with service pack1."
OK, so they understand and are looking into it, but it also seems like it would be down to the new SigmaTel owners to solve - IDT posted this statement, which suggest they think there is no need to update their drivers:
    http://www.idt.com/?app=knowledgebase&contentID=4836&parentID=4836&parentPath=12 10-3638-3639-4836
I have tried 'Resolution B' from that link, but after removing the Sigma Tel audio driver, Vista SP1 still did not show up in Windows Update and I don't want to force install (via the download link) if Vista is not happy with my setup.
Does anyone have the definitive answer to this situation? It looks like I just need to wait a little longer, but I just wanted to check I've not missed something important.
    Thanks

    Hi Mark
Firstly, at the risk of being patronising, use winclone to image your BC partition. It works brilliantly.
Secondly, I have a late 2006 MBP (2.33GHz) with Vista on BC and running Fusion. MS Update did not offer the SP1 upgrade so I used the standalone installer. The sound works perfectly but I have found that there is a nasty bug in the video driver (X1600), which causes an immediate reboot if you try to adjust the screen brightness. It works fine so long as you don't touch the F1 and F2 keys. I used the BC systray app to asign the F keys to MS software rather than Mac hardware to avoid inadvertently tripping this fault.
If you don't mind this nasty little funny lurking on your system then SP1 is worth installing. For example Safari on Vista opens much quicker than on OS X 10.5.2
Vista SP1 works perfectly in Fusion.

  • [Vox] MSI VOX TV BOX USB 2.0 problem with audio drivers compatibility

    Ok,let's go...
I have a DELL Latitude d510 laptop with a centrino 1.73 GHz procesor and a soundcard supported by Sigmatel software Sigmatel C-Major audio.I bought MSI VOX TV BOX USB 2.0 and tried to install it on my lap top.Yes,I had problems with SP2 on my XP and the MSIVPS software from the instalation CD was crashing every time I tried to start it,but I solved those problems by downloading the latest drivers and the 3.xx version of MSIPVS.But...I still have a problem with audio. To be precise it seems that my audio drivers are incompatible with the VOX drivers. So now I have video but I don't have audio. Also I installed the tv card on my desktop machine and it worked like a charm(everything workes:audio, video, the old MSIPVS which I like better than the new one cause it supports my remote, has better way of managing scanned channels,e.t.c ,but I have USB 1.1 on my MB so the image quality is very poor).I did a lot of experimenting, for example i uninstaled my audio drivers(that Sigmatel C-Major thing),and installed the old MSIVPS and guess what...IT WORKED but there is no use from this cause I don't have audio On the other hand if I have everything installed then in the MSIVPS (the 3.xx version not the old one) under audio I get CD Player as an input audio device(what happened with microphone...?).To cut the long story short I tried a bunch of things and still no audio. Is there any other case of DELL audio software-VOX incompatibility?Any ideas,or solutions?

thank you for answering me. y have no pci card working, only usb 2.0 and sata devices. also, the MSI geforce 9600gt PExp 2.0 gpu. the only usb 2.0 devices which work, are the flash (pen) drives, keyboard and mouse. but no way that the WLAn adapter and TVcapture, both usb 2.0 work.i've  tested them front side and rear side and is the same failure: if i use a pendrive, works ok. if i insert the wlan or the tv capture stop work as the 2.0 and a advertising window tell me to change to a 2.0 port, means the ports are working slower, at 1.1.  i still have the other PC, built on the MSI K9N4-slif mobo, tested them and both devices work at perfection.  i have 2 screenshots to show you:
this, is the device manager (sorry, in spanish but you understand that's about the nVIDIA EHCI USB 2.0 controller. the 2nd one seems to be more sensitive (works worth) then the first one. when the tvcapture begin work, then fails, i'm trying to update this controller, does it ok but then the devicemanager-window freeze. i must stroke the "enter" key to "accept" / finish the update. then, fails again:
the other one is from everest corporate edition:
both drivers marked with purple colour!
i think i should update this Win XP drivers, but how? the usbport.inf file (C:\Windows\inf) don't change anything. i don't want to switch xp to vista, i'm happy whit it.
i'm thinking also on another possibility: could be an energy failure? some usb devices, like the big usb flash dives. 250-320gb, fail because the 5v/usb are receiving it's not enough. could be, but that means this mobo has no solution and i'll loose my money.
thank you very much and i'll stay alert of your suggestions. by
